I devoured this story! It was such a fun, quick and brutally violent read!
The Axe Between Us follows the true crime story of Lizzie Borden and her family. Big shout out to the author for keeping it as factually accurate as possible, with a wonderful little twist!
The story had me hooked and on the edge of my seat from the get go. It was such a unique and riveting concept that you just cannot put the book down. Elsa Thorne has a wonderful way with words, allowing readers to truly immerse themselves in this unsettling world!
If you're a fellow true crime girlie who is obsessed with violent horror, this book is for you! I cannot wait for the rest of this series to come out, I'm already hooked on this series!

This was my first by Elsa Throne, and when I tell you I devoured this one, man, it was fabulous. I am a true crime girlie, and this one scratched that itch.
This Lizzie Borden twist was great. It had me on the edge of my seat the whole time wanting to know more. I loved this one so much and it's such a fun retelling. This one will have you constantly guessing. Just when you think you know, bam, plot twist.
Read this one if you are a true crime junkie like me!

I've never really thought horror was my preference for a genre but this book has me doubting that! I loved that it was somewhat influenced by the Lizzie Borden case so I decided to try something new and I'm so glad I did. This book was SO good! I finished it within the first day. I could not put the book down! The story moved at a decent pace and I found myself needing to know what happened next and how everything would play out.
It was creepy and had some gore, but it wasn't over the top. It went really well with the storyline, which was so good with
twists and turns the entire way through. I did NOT see that ending coming. Whoa, it was unexpected and clever. The writing was well done and there were so many simple, but detailed descriptions that I had a clear picture of the setting
without being overly bogged down with details. It was balanced well with the storyline. I loved that this was inspired by Lizzie Borden, a case I've been familiar with for many years. The creative twists taken were beyond my expectations. The storyline really shines in this dark book. Even without being a lengthy book, I felt connected to some characters and was rooting for them. I loved the story. I can't wait for the next book in this series!

This is the first book in the Twisted Truth series which are based off on real / cold cases, add some paranormal or horror twists, and you have a delicious book that keeps you on the edge of your seat!
Book one focusses around the unsolved Lizzie Borden case. Where a group of people decide to spend a weekend in the very place where this horrible tragedy took place.
Things start to unravel, not making any sense. One by one they find out, that this place is not what they thought it to be at all!
If you are into paranormal, unsolved mysteries, true crime stories with a pinch of horror, then this series needs to be on your TBR list. And the Axe Between is, is a delicious start on that dark book journey of yours

I was hooked from the very beginning and couldn’t stop reading. Elsa’s writing style is one of my favorites—this is my second book by her, and I’m definitely a fan for the long run. The story itself is such a fun mix of ghostly elements and historical true crime, and it keeps you guessing the entire way through. You’re constantly trying to figure out who did what and why, and yes, all the answers come together satisfyingly in the end. It’s also a quick, engaging read, and I’m already excited for the next installment in the Twisted Truth Series.

This book is an amazing read. Once I started reading I could not put it down. It moves along at a really great pace which is perfect for this story. This story will keep you on the edge of your seat with all the twists and turns and leaves you guessing right up to the end. These characters are perfect for the story and you will find yourself wanting to scream at them throughout. This is a must read boo that will not disappoint. It needs to be on your TBR list, no doubt about it. Looking forward to the next story that Elsa Thorne brings our way.

It had me on the edge of my seat consistently guessing and just when you think you go it your hot with another twist.

This modern take on the Lizzy Borden mystery is everything! I'm left wondering, what's fact and what's fiction? Elsa Thorne has knocked this legendary unsolved mystery outta the park and looking forward to more twists on mysteries of the past.

Freaking loved everything about this story!! I cannot wait to read anything this author writes. I ate this book up. It was tasteful done despite the horrific circumstances and I’m here for it give me more.
