Teach Me: The Jaxon Hawke series

Rate this book
**This book contains adult content.

I'm Jaxon Hawke and I'm a male escort.
I'm not your typical kind of escort however. I'll meet your demands for a short time only, then I'll turn the tables and make you desperate for me, make you crave me so badly that you'll come back for more. Soon you'll be paying to please me. If you abide by the rules, you can continue to be my client. Break the rules and your out. When I have you under my full control, I'll move onto someone new....that's my game. That's my life.

I'm Scarlet O'Connor, I've had a hopeless crush on my work colleague Ayden Saywer for months. There's just one problem...me. As soon as an attractive man gets within a foot of me, I act like a teenager with my first crush. I've slept with one man in my life therefore have no experience with men. I can't talk to them, I can't look at them, I can barely breathe around them. But if I've got any chance of getting Ayden to notice me, ive got to rid myself of this embarrassing complex I have following me around. The idea of going on a few simple dates with an escort was suggested to me....maybe I'd give it a try....

Ooh nasty nasty meanie author lady!
I actually enjoyed this a lot....I loved the characteristics of Jaxon and I think the author did a good job of portraying Scarlett as the shy girl in need of Jaxon's services. I found myself very drawn in by the story and when I reached the cliffhanger I'm sure I actually uttered the words... "Oh hell no,"
Sure there were some typos and such but after doing a bit of research about the author I found that she is very new to publishing her work. I was even more impressed by this fact and thought for a new author trying her hand at writing she was really very good!
I hope she writes some more books as I will definitely be reading them to see how much she has improved

Well, this author sure knows how to write a guy that you can't stop drooling over!

This book was recommended to me and since I love reading the work of new authors I couldn't wait to get started.
I thought the initial idea for this story was great, the author managed to make me warm to the characters easily and I found myself really into the story.

Sure there were typos and little mistakes but nothing that I could honestly say ruined the book for me.
I think the author has a natural knack for creating characters that you instantly like and you genuinely want to know what happens to them.

There's enough suspense in the writing to just keep you on the edge, enough humour for it not to get silly and a cliffhanger that made me think everything was going to be ok but the bam! She throws in a bomb and you're gobsmacked.

I'm going to be following this author closely as. I've already read her latest books and to me, she is an undiscovered writer who seems to get better with each book.
Looking forward to her next book.

Ok so first off....where do I get me a Jaxon! Damn!

Well I have to say that I really liked this book.
I have a severe problem with authors who over describe things such as every item in the damn room or every colour that they see and I'm happy to say that this author managed to put me in a room, envision everything around me and then get on with the story, no constant waffling. Great!

The storyline did it for me as soon as I read the blurb but I wasn't expecting it to be quite this good.

I mean sure, there were typos and a little gramma that needed fixing but these were in the minority and as long as the book is still readable then I'm happy.

As much as I hate cliffhangers, this one made my jaw drop a little and the author, I think, managed to get the suspense just right because as soon as I'm done reviewing this I'm jumping on the next part.

Well this book certainly peaked my interest. I don't think I've read an escort type book before but this one was really good. If I can read a book in two hours then it must be good. On to the next part

Damn... Damn... By damn!!!

Enter Jaxon....

"Hey, I can sugar coat it if you want me to Scarlet but do you really think if a guy sees a hot girl in a bar his first thought is 'ooh I'd really like to put my tongue on her vagina?' Seriously?"

..."If you're looking for a guy who doesn't call a pussy a pussy then I suggest you jump back into one of those fairy take books that five year olds read."

Jaxon! Yeah, I'd like him to coat something in sugar, but it damn sure ain't his words, umhum!

Sometimes the scoundrel just needs the right woman to knock him on his ass. But, what insecurities and secrets lay beneath all the bravado?

Enter Scarlet....

Shy, reserved, insecure, timid Scarlet. She can't manage to string a sentence together when she gets near a coworker that she has a crush on. She turns to Jaxon for his professional help to find her inner womanly wilds so she can get her coworker's attention.

Sometimes the good girl needs the right badboy to bring out her inner mouthy minx.

Enter the cliffhanger...

You're a cruel, cruel woman Lucy! That's a mfer of a cliffy! *picks jaw up*

Awesomeness

I love Lucy's writing style. It's quick reading because of the realistic dialogue and narration that flows smooth as silk. Her writing is never jarring. I never have to reread to make sense of anything.

There are a few excessive details about decor here and there, but nothing I can't live with reading. A few grammatical mishaps, but, again, nothing that's going to make me stop reading!

Excellent character building with a relatable female MC & an intriguing male MC.

Interesting romantic plot that seems doomed & moves extremely fast, but that you'll root for wholeheartedly... even when it's clear Jaxon has a hellofa lot of secrets and hangups.

Bottom Line

description

I f'ing loved it. Just the right combo of sexual heat, sweet swoony scenes, alpha male possessive badassary, infuriating moments, & a little suspense.

Well Jaxon is certainly a tall glass of water for me. I just love a straight talking guy who's a bit of an asshole lol. I really felt as if the characters while complete polar opposites of each other were so right for each other. I like the style of writing by this author as shes not afraid to colour outside the lines when it comes to how her characters speak. Theyre very real. Looking forward to book 2

A pleasant surprise from a new author.
the storyline was one I'd not read before which was refreshing because a lot of storylines and rehashed over and over again lately.
I liked the characters very much and found that the story flowed nicely.
The cliffhanger at the end is more than enough to make me reach for the second and final part

This could have been a good read, but within the first few pages I found typos that really ticked me off. When I see that an author can't see the difference between they're and there or their and doesn't understand that whore's is not the plural of whore, I find it difficult to continue reading. I kept on and did enjoy the story, but found other odd mistakes and wrong words, so that made the going tough for me. I have typos in my own books, but they are proofing mishaps and not my inability to select the correct spelling.
