Private Detective James Long searches for the woman he loves who has mysteriously disappeared without a trace. In the midst of his own personal investigation, he is hired to solve two mysteries that have a coincidental link to a troubled soul from his not so distant past.
This is the third installment of Detective James Long’s mysteries. I won’t lie. I came into the novel with a bit of animosity towards Dahlia. From my perspective, it seems like the cause of most of the strife in Detective Long’s personal life is, because of his connection to her.
In book 2, James experiences loss after loss. In this book, he’s doing his best to rebuild while searching for the love of his life. Even though the search could consume him, these bills gotta get paid. Do you hear me? And, what would this book be without a little mystery or two?
James has a bit more edge to him now. He’s trying his best to keep a level head, but his past experiences have changed him. Now, by no means is he reckless, but he does have a little spice to him.
Out of all three books, I would say this one is my favorite, so far.
