Omar Guzmán Galeano, Spain’s top soccer player, had fame, wealth, and power, except true love. Tired of false relationships, he never expected to be captivated at his cousin Alan’s wedding rehearsal by a beautiful, strong single mother, Phoebe Santiago, and her 9-year-old son.
Phoebe had built a life on her own after being rejected as a teen mother. She had long since closed her heart—until Omar’s intense gaze reignited feelings she thought were gone.
After an unexpected night together at the wedding, Phoebe slipped away, believing Omar would forget. But the footballer was determined to win her over, enlisting his young admirer’s help. He dreamed of a future with them, but first, he had to earn her love.

Thank you to Tales and Teacups, Valery, and publishers for a copy of this read! Read content warnings. It was decent, in my opinion. Once one thing happened to the main character, it happens to another character. I did have a fun time too, I did like the devotion of Omar. Noah is my favorite character. Also, is he a fortune teller, haha?!!? He made two of his dreams come true. I still dislike Steven, I don’t care lol.

Thank you to Tales and Teacups PR for this arc opportunity! 🫶🏻
The start had me hooked, and it really drew me in. It was deep and full of raw emotions. I was super interested in Phoebe's life story and her troubled upbringing. Seeing her becoming a single mother and a nurse was fantastic she really put her whole life and soul into it and showed how strong she is.
As the story went on, I did hit a point where i started to lose a bit of interest. It started to feel rushed, repetitive, and a little all over the place. The romance was not hitting the way I wanted it to. First, impressions were great, but then it just started to feel a bit forced and over the top.
There was also drama that was happening that, in reality, would make you completely not want to associate with that person, but the characters seemed to shrug it off like nothing happened, and it left me feeling a bit confused.
In the end, it did start to bring my interest back a little, which I was happy about. It was a very sweet end. I was so happy that Phoebe and Noah ended up with a family, life, and what seems to be a bright future ahead of them that they absolutely deserve.

I’m always grateful for the opportunity to receive an ARC and appreciate being selected by Tales and Teacups and Valery for a copy of Desiring Love.
I also want to note that I truly admire anyone who takes on the challenge of becoming an author and publishing a book.
That said, I struggled to follow the plot of this one as it jumps around quite a bit, and the timeline feels very rushed. Within the first few pages, the FMC experiences an unplanned pregnancy, physical abuse from both her baby’s father and her own parents, hospitalization, and then runs away with her long-distance aunt.
The pacing made it hard to stay engaged, and at times it even felt as though parts of the book might have been translated from another language.
If you’re looking for a quick read, this could be an option, but be prepared for some confusing transitions. It does have a really cute ending for the main characters and the son is an adorable character who made me smile quite a bit.
Overall, this won’t be a reread for me, but I can see how others might enjoy it.

Grateful enough to have read this e-ARC beforehand! A well-written single mom sports romance where—thankfully—the child is not irritating.
Omar Guzman is a true golden retriever in every sense of the word. Seriously, why don’t we meet such sweethearts in real life? His strong, blossoming family ties were exactly what Phoebe needed after years of carrying the weight of the world on her shoulders. All she really wanted was a safe space, someone to lean on—and she found that in him.
Their story kicks off at a wedding they both attend as strangers, and what follows is the kind of lovey-dovey romance we all secretly (or not so secretly) crave—one that satisfies our estrogen levels, to be very honest.
Entonces me preguntaba, ¿si o no quieres aceptar a Óscar?
The story follows Phoebe, an OBGYN nurse 🏥; her son, Noah 👦; and Omar, a professional football player 🏈.
I loved Desiring Your Love by Valery Archaga—it was such a fun, emotional, and heartwarming read! 💖 It’s the kind of story that breaks your heart 💔 and then gently puts it back together 🩹. From the first chapter, I was pulled in and fully engaged, needing to know what would happen next 📖. The plot was wonderful, the story was heart-wrenching 😢, and the characters were in equal parts lovable and emotionally complex 💫. Even the side characters were easy to connect with 🤗. I truly hope this becomes a series—so many of them deserve their own stories! 📚✨
This is a raw and real portrayal of motherhood 👩👦. As a single mom myself, I deeply related to Phoebe—the constant worry of doing what’s best for your child, the exhaustion 😮💨, and the quiet strength it takes every day 💪. Her journey felt so personal and real 🧡.
Phoebe is a strong, fiercely protective mom 🛡️, and I really admired her resilience. I adored the chemistry between Omar and Phoebe—it was spicy 🌶️, sweet 🍯, and beautifully developed 🌹. Their dynamic hooked me from the start 🎣. I also loved how Omar and his family embraced Phoebe and her son from the beginning 👨👩👦. Omar’s persistence was heart-melting 🥹. And that plot twist at the end? I did not see it coming 🤯—and I loved every minute of it.
Steven, I wasn’t a fan at first—you were giving serious toxic baby daddy vibes 😬—but by the end, I was rooting for you 🙌. I really hope you get your own story too!
This story had everything: drama 🎭, heart ❤️, healing 🕊️, and love 💘. I highly recommend it 📚✨
Thank you to Valery Archaga and Tales & Teacups for the ARC! All thoughts are my own!
ARC review: Desiring Your Love by Valery Archaga was such a heartfelt and engaging read. From the very first page, I was drawn into Phoebe’s story. She’s a strong single mother who has endured so much—abandoned by her parents, left to raise her son Noah on her own, and determined to give him the stable, loving life she never had. When her past forces her back to Zaragoza, fate leads her to Omar Guzmán Galeano, Spain’s top soccer player, at a wedding.
What I loved most was how the romance wasn’t just about Phoebe and Omar. Omar immediately bonded with Noah, who happens to be one of his biggest fans. That instant connection was touching, and it made their love story feel like a family story, not just a romance. Omar’s persistence, respect, and devotion really stood out—he doesn’t try to sweep Phoebe away, he works to earn her trust, her respect, and eventually, her love.
The writing was smooth, well-paced, and easy to follow. The characters felt relatable and real. As a new mom myself, I empathized deeply with Phoebe’s struggles and her determination to protect her child.
The only reason I took away half a star was that Phoebe gave in to Omar very quickly at the start of their relationship. Given her history and guarded nature, I expected her to hold back a little longer. That said, it didn’t diminish how much I enjoyed the book overall.
This is a beautiful story about love, trust, and healing, with a dash of sports romance charm. Highly recommend it if you enjoy strong heroines, swoony heroes, and stories where family love is just as important as romantic love.
Thank you Valery for sharing the arc and letting me review it!

First off I want to say I received an ARC of this so thank you to Tales & Teacups and Valery!
4 ⭐️ Read wasn’t a 5 ⭐️ only because I got annoyed with Phoebe not listening to Omar on so many occasions!
Phoebe , single mum to her son Noah , OBGYN nurse , emotional trauma from her past!
Omar , professional soccer player / international business man , falls first and hard , wants to help Phoebe and her son Noah as much as possible!
I absolutely devoured this, I loved the strong mindset that Phoebe has when it comes to Noah and his life, her love for him shown in everything she does. The ups and downs of their lives only get worse once Noah’s “ dad “ forces them to come home to see his grandmother. Phoebe makes amends with a boy from her past and ends up at his wedding where she meets Omar. Noah’s all time favourite Soccer player.
Omar falls instantly for Phoebe, he immediately wants to care for her and give her and Noah the world. But of course Phoebe holds back and doesn’t think that he could possibly want her. Omar puts in effort constantly especially when Phoebes EX tries everything in his power to mess with her and Noah.
There were aspects of the story that I didn’t see coming at all especially when it came to her exes parents. But it kept me thinking the whole time and also throughly entertained through out the book.
Phoebe and Omar’s relationship and love grows stronger and more intense through the story and the ending had me grinning so much.
I cannot wait for this to be released so people can experience the joy that I did.
ARC Review - cozy-romance comfort mixed with themes of growth and self-worth
“Some chapters of our lives are better left buried, their pages filled with shame and regret. But the truth has a way of demanding to be heard—even the most painful parts.”
Phoebe’s story pulled at every heartstring I have. She’s a single mom who’s fought her way through heartbreak, judgment, and abandonment, but she’s never stopped putting her son, Noah, first. Every decision she makes radiates love and strength, and that dedication to her child made me admire her so much.
Then there’s Omar, a billionaire soccer player with a soft heart and relentless devotion. From the second he meets Phoebe, he’s gone. I loved how respectful and steady he was, how he wanted her to choose him rather than be convinced. His connection with Noah was just as beautiful, patient, kind, and full of genuine care.
Their love story is built on healing and trust, with moments that make you smile and others that tug at your chest. I did wish we’d gotten a bit more buildup between them before things turned serious, but the ending still wrapped their story in such a hopeful, heart-warming way.
Then Desiring Your Love will give you that cozy-romance comfort mixed with themes of growth and self-worth.
Phoebe’s strength, Omar’s persistence, and the love they both have for Noah made this such a heartfelt read. 🤍
I'm always grateful to receive ARC of books, and I'm so very sorry, but this book just wasn't for me.
First thing to say is that I could tell this book was written in Spanish and translated (badly) in English- this made it difficult to read, as the flow of the reading just wasn't there. By all means, English is not my first language, but the use of some unfitting words/terms and weird sentences construction made it difficult for me to push through.
The book itself... is unnerving: 3% into the book- accidental pregnancy 40% into the book- another accidental pregnancy (same mother) 68% into the book - another accidental pregnancy (same father) i thought in 2025 sexual education was more as thing than it actually is apparently.
All the characters fall madly in love either at first sight or within 24h- how is this realistic? Don't get me wrong, I love romance, but this has nothing to do with love. How can you love someone you don't know at all? and all 4 of them fall in love at first sight? And what it is with the entire families always present at all doctors appointments? hello, privacy?
All in all, this book felt like south american telenovelas from the '90s.
Again, I'm sorry, I admire whoever embarks in the endevor of writing a book, but this one wasn't for me.

Overall, I think that there's a lot of great potential with Desiring Your Love, as Phoebe was definitely a rational, likable, and realistic character (plus, I loved the body positivity in this story SO much!). I even thought with how fast he dove into it all, I still thought Omar was a fascinating person who seemed to genuinely care for Phoebe and Noah. I do wish that there was a bit more time to have gotten to know these characters though, as some of the introductions of the main characters and/or side characters kind of just appeared rather than had a solid introduction, so that would have probably been SO beneficial to my overall understanding of the story/background!
I think that the majority of the tropes in this story were a lot of fun, but there were some tropes that I felt could have been cut out or at least left out of this particular book and maybe expanded on in bonus content or a second book rather than putting it all into one. The pacing was also slow in some areas but fast in others, so that was also tough to keep up with and was only easy to keep track of since a lot of these shifts happened when the POVs shifted too, but it wasn't a huge distraction from me reading the story.
Overall, there's a lot of potential to the plot and these characters, as well as seeing how Phoebe and Omar's future unfolds, so this can still be a great introduction to sports and romance for anyone who wants to read an entertaining story soon!
Phoebe and Omar’s love story was so captivating I enjoyed it all. I loved Noah and how sweet and protective he was of his momma. Phoebes up bringing was terrible to say the least and I was so happy when she finally got her happily ever after. Omar falling head over heels at first glance was sweet and how he kept trying to win her heart while respecting her boundaries was great. I’m so happy for their love story and how it turned out 🥰 thank you for trusting me with an arc🤍

Genre/type: contemporary romance Pages: 335 Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Spice: 🌶️🌶️ Series or stand alone: standalone book Tropes or themes: curvy heroine, single mom, billionaire soccer player, surprise baby, second chance at love, love at first site, found family, possessive mmc, he fell first & harder Check triggers: teenage pregnancy, family rejection and abandonment, physical, verbal and emotional abuse in the backstory, the struggles of single motherhood, media intrusion, paparazzi pressure, miscarriage, death, as well as consensual and descriptive sexual content
I truly immersed myself in this book! The emotional depth, rich characters, and compelling plot touched my heart from the very beginning. Phoebe is such a remarkable and protective mother; her love for Noah shines through every decision she makes, and I couldn’t help but admire her incredible strength and resilience.🫶🏼
That said, there were moments when I felt a wave of frustration for her, particularly when she found it difficult to open up to Omar or truly let him into her heart. The miscommunication between them was so palpable; I felt deeply for both of them as I navigated through their story.
Omar’s patience and genuine nature really stood out to me. His unwavering love for Phoebe and Noah was so heartfelt that I wished Phoebe could recognize it sooner. The way he instantly fell for her, along with his commitment to being there for both her and Noah, truly warmed my heart. Even in the midst of challenges posed by her ex, Omar remained a steadfast source of support.
Witnessing their relationship evolve and strengthen was incredibly rewarding, and the ending left me with a huge smile on my face. This story beautifully captures so much: drama, healing, love, and the journey of finding trust. I’m genuinely eager for others to experience it too! Make sure to order yours on October 8th!!!♥️

I absolutely devoured this book! The emotional depth, the characters, and the plot had me hooked from the start. Phoebe is such a strong, protective mom — her love for Noah shines through every decision she makes, and I admired her resilience. That said… I definitely found myself frustrated with her at times — especially when she wouldn’t listen to Omar or let him in. The miscommunication between them had me yelling at the pages! Omar is patient, genuine, and so clearly all-in from the start. His love for both Phoebe and Noah felt so real and unwavering, and I just wanted Phoebe to trust him sooner. Omar falling for her instantly — and his determination to show up for both her and Noah — melted my heart. Despite all the chaos with her ex trying to interfere, Omar never gave up. Watching their relationship grow stronger and more intense was incredibly satisfying, and the ending left me grinning like an idiot. This story had everything: drama, heart, healing, and love. I can’t wait for others to read it!
This story hit me way harder than I expected. As someone who was a teen mom, went through a DV relationship, and later became a single mom, so much of this book resonated with me and had me tearing up.
But don’t get me wrong it wasn’t all heavy. I was laughing and giggling through most of it too. At one point, I literally had to get up and walk away from the book because… WTF, Steven?! I hated you!!
The only small thing that threw me off was some of the wording used in the intimate scenes. It caught me off guard and I found myself mentally swapping out words as I read.
Other than that, I loved Omar. He knew exactly who and what he wanted, and I adored how he understood that winning Noah’s trust was just as important as winning Phoebe’s. The way he stood up for them and offered support when life got rough melted me.
And Phoebe girl, same. Our kids’ feelings and well-being will always come first.
The happy ending was so sweet, and I closed the book with a full heart. A good, easy read that balanced the tough with the tender.
A standalone book of 353 pages that tells Phoebe and Omar's story, which begins with an instalove where he knows she is his woman, no matter how or when🫣
Additionally, there are also other themes that grab your attention quickly, such as a single mum, a famous football player, family issues, a difficult past, etc🫢
Personally, this is my first time reading Valery and I was very surprised by her writing style. I just want to say thank you very much for the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book✨
However, I have to admit that the story has so many elements that it's easy to feel lost sometimes, because too much happens quickly🧍🏻♀️
For that reason, I think if you're looking for an intense instalove with too much drama, this is your book, but I would have preferred less drama myself 💘
Unfortunately I don't think this arc was for me. It was badly translated from Spanish to English, the speech just didn't flow, the falling in love within 2 hours and saying I love you the day after you meet? I'm sorry but that's crazy, and so so unrealistic it just didn't feel like a romance book whatsoever because of it. Also the nickname "my little bad wolf" ??? I couldn't stop cringing at those scenes. If anyone called my son his son after knowing me for 2 days I literally think id file a restraining order like I'm sorry but you can't call some strangers kid yours because you're determined that you're madly in love with her after knowing each other less than a day. I think there was a lot of potential for this book and it may have been worded better or flown better in its original language. The timing was all over the place and some bits didn't really correlate, whilst I admire Phoebe for all she'd done I didn't connect with the book how if hoped. However thank you love note pr for this opportunity
I had been really looking forward to this book as I love the single parent trope, however I was slightly disappointed. The story itself was good but it felt a bit disjointed going back and forth. You would have part of the story and then jump back to see it from the other person’s perspective which for me throws me out of the flow of the story. There were also elements that were added in that felt like they were included to bill the story out as they didn’t seem to fit with the rest of the story and also saw no real resolution to those points. Whether they are part of a larger story in other books I am not sure as this is the first book from this author I have read. Not sure I would read anything further from this author at this stage. Also there was jumping between the word football and soccer. As it is set in Spain I would have expected to stick to their general terminology rather than the more American term.
I am so exited for everyone to read this “Desiring your love” this is a super cute story that will break your heart and put it back together.

Phoebe girl I love you for being so strong and an amazing mom to Noah it could be tough raising a kid alone but Noah grew up to be such a great and kind young man. Noah is definitely my favorite character of the story because he was so funny! Oh and Omar 😍 everyone needs an Omar in their life and even his family I love that they welcomed phoebe and Noah in their lives no questions asked.
And yes I can’t believe I’m going to say this but Steven totally won my heart (well after I told him to die after what he did) 😂 but I love how he came back and turned into a new loving person, he deserves to have a happy life after his parents totally ruined his.
This story pulled me in immediately! The turmoil that Phoebe was going through and how she fought to ensure Noah was always her top priority was so endearing to read about. As the story progressed, some parts did get a little redundant and other parts seemed a bit rushed- but a few pages later or a chapter later, it would hook me right back in. ❤️ The incorporation of the side characters and intertwining them to the bigger picture was definitely something I wasn’t initially anticipating! Nor was I anticipating anythinggg that progressed with Steven. I will say, I was calling Aida crazy many times and didn’t quite understand how they fell in love when she had been avoiding all of his calls..but, it was sweet to see it become one whole huge happy blended family. ❤️ If you want to read an almost Hallmark movie romance, this is definitely a great choice!

I had the pleasure of being an ARC reader for this book and i absolutely LOVED ❤️ it.
It has Phoebe’s emotional journey from being a teen and being used by her parents to becoming a teen mom with an 🍑ex and navigating life with her son.
Then comes Mr hot soccer player Omar Guzman who falls in love with her at first sight! Doesn’t stop pursuing her even with all her doubts about herself. He gives her space. He loves her and her son from the beginning and so does his big family!
I wasn’t ready for that “Plot Twist” but I must admit it was great at the end and I want another book just for them! Lol….😂 NOT GOING TO SPOIL IT SO YOU NEED TO READ THE BOOK!!!!
Honestly I hope there’s more books to this “series” because so many different characters that need their own books!!!! @ Valery Archaga don’t leave us hanging 😂 and thank you so much for giving me the opportunity to be one of the first to read your book! Lots of love to you and your success 😘
This was given to me as an e-arc and I appreciate Tales & Teacups for sharing this with me for a review. Unfortunately, I had to put Desiring Your Love down pretty early. The timing in the first chapters felt off. Chapter one really read like a prologue since it was just setup from the past, and then the first 10% was basically an info dump about the FMC’s childhood and trauma. It wasn’t woven into the story in a way that kept me engaged.
On top of that, there were just too many tropes thrown in right away. Teen pregnancy, single mom, abuse survivor, addict parents, abusive baby daddy… it was a lot to take in at once. I did feel bad for the main character, but she wasn’t written in a way that made her feel likable either.
The pacing felt messy and the story didn’t grab me, so this one ended up being a DNF.
Love this story so much. Phoebe was such a strong woman, taking over caring for her son Noah and giving him the life he deserved. Only downside is Noah's dad is not the best and makes everything complicated but Phoebe doesn't give up and continues to fight to give her son nothing but the best. And then Omar shows up and wants to give her and now the world the moment he set his eyes on her. But being famous is never easy and Noah's dad wanted to take advantage of that and make Phoebe worry about losing Noah. Oma doesn't give up and makes sure to let them both know he is there for them and he is staying. This story, the characters, love it all so much.
I was given this as an ARC read from tales and teacups and i think them and the author Valery Archaga I loved the idea of this story and it started strong where I couldn’t get enough but for me it went all confusing with different POVs that were a little messy and clunky. I am not really a fan of switching back and forth between things/people/times throughout the whole book so i really struggled here to want to read it. I did finish the book and loved the idea of fairytale happy ever after ending within the main characters and would definitely say give it a read yourself. 3 ⭐️ 2 🌶️🌶️
