The next book of the series!
The Water Mage (Book 4):

I wear three faces. An ancient mage, a young noble, and a lucky diver.

The first was murdered.

The second had lost his inheritance and was cast into exile.

The third? A counterfeit, a mask to shield the others.

For I am a water-mage—ever-shifting, ever-fluid. I don’t smash through obstacles, but I always find the cracks in an enemy’s armor.

Nothing stands against the tide—because the tide is me.

Review of advance copy received from Publisher

I received a review copy of this book.
Aquilon is the third book in this series, and in this one, we see great character development. Even Droplet gets in on the action. Enemies are turned into business partners, water testing finally makes some progress, and of course, the main character continues his quest to make the water ways safer for your average individual.
All together, a fairly good addition to the series.
Looking forward to the next one.

Fun, enjoyable, but bit slow and needs editing.

This was a good continuation of the series but nothing to really stand out. The main character is enjoyable as he retains his agency to do as he wishes instead of being pulled along from a to b to c. The story is predictable and simple so although enjoyable it's very easy reading. The pacing is a little slow and it needs editing because it uses repeat information that the reader knows as filler to explain the situation when it's only been a few pages prior. I enjoyed the uniqueness of the main character as a water mage trying to recover his heritage however paying for the story may become tiresome as the books are simple easy reading. Although enjoyable they may become forgettable and it's hard to justify the books price if the story doesn't become more engaging or unique.

Apparently when a water mage becomes powerful enough, he gains the ability to spend most of his time drawing up trading contracts and talking about business opportunities. It's not really what I was after with these books. Sometimes he even jokes about how he'd have solved his problems more excitingly in the old days! Then why not tell us about them?

Light entertainment

The story continues but the plot only advances glacially. While i like Droplet i found the story again lacking in action, humour and thrill. Once again the world felt miniscule and sadly a bit boring..
