this is a review from an arc. yes I know the book has already been published and my review from an arc is rather late. 14 books in and I'm still not tired of this series. we don't get as much of the character Snoop as in other books, nor do we get a lot of treasure, Slayer rings or any other such items. there is a little bit of treasures but everybody knows by now that I love the loot and this one is loot poor. it's okay it doesn't take away from the story. the story is more focused on interpersonal relationships I would say some magic and a tournament. y'all know we can't have portal or light RPG books that don't have a tournament Arc somewhere in there they seem to be a staple of this type of book. so far we haven't had a school arc so that's a good thing. the only negative that I would say that this book has other than a couple of dumb nicknames for characters not a lot don't worry is that every single female seems to just want to throw themselves at the MC's feet. now I will say in a positive note the female characters in this series have more substance to them than a lot of series of the same type. I'm fixing to go start the next book in the series and then I'll be caught up on this series. as always, even if I don't post it in every review books from magicdome publishing are very well edited and if you do find a mistake and you let them know they do fix it. let's face it I can't find all of them I'm not perfect. no matter how much I think I am.
Xander finally gets some well deserved pay back and finds some great sparring partners who manage to challenge him. Both Xander and Boerholis continue to bring joy and happiness to everyone around them. The empress seems on the verge of starting to drink due to their exploits..
Criticism and comments
This book had several incomplete sentences.
I am no fan of multiverses. The idea was funny only for one time!
It was nice to see the cursed art arc continue. Especially in this way!
In the first books it seemed that the missing emperor was a huge tragedy. Now, it seems that he himself was the cause of most of the problems of the empire as he is only a princehusbandof the real empress! Khrulyov trying to save him makes hardly sense anymore..
This falls short of what it should and easily could have been.
Felt rushed and sloppy by the time I was two thirds into the story. That is about the time when the accumulated minor annoyances reached and truly spilled over the rim of my cup of tolerance. Also when I started composing this review.
Too many errors in the text. Several plot issues, if not big whoopers still bad enough. The whole Empress/Emperor plot line inconsistency. Very bad.
I like the overall story but having to take breaks due to enjoyment being usurped by aggravation just wont do. I should probably rate this lower but giving it a one out of five rating out of pique would also be too savage since its not fully warranted.
This book series is what of my most unexpected but enjoyable to read books. My only issue is now I have to wait another couple months for a new books to come out. All I can say is if I had one genie wish I’d wish for 50 more books in the series and the author to have everlasting life
I'm a person that does not like cliffhanger, for the most part. You spend a good couple of chapters leading to something and right before it happens, bam, the book ends; in no way is that a pleasant and encouraging scenario that leads to a continuous engagement.
But, overall I'm fan of the series and would recommend to others.
This book, in my opinion, is the best book of the series. The story just flows. No hiccups, no bumps, no stumbling around. Smooth. I loved it. Looking forward to next in the series.
I know this is progressing like it should be, but I do hope we get more portals in the next book they're fun. I hope he doesn't become an enemy of Japan because of the princess and what you did to that traitor.
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.
