Kingdom of Silk: Kingdom Shifter Series Book 4

Rate this book
When the threads of truth unravel, love may be the only thing left to hold on to.

Maddie Newsom never asked to become a shaman—the sacred protector of the Damarian race—but destiny chose her anyway. As the first human ever granted the title, she’s still learning what her powers mean. Her only guide is Roan, a brooding, battle-scarred warrior from the Kingdom of Claws who guards his secrets as fiercely as his heart.

When Maddie and Roan are abducted in the Kingdom of Silk, they awaken cocooned in darkness, prisoners to an unseen enemy. As their dangerous bond flares into something wild and powerful, a conspiracy threatens to ignite war across all the kingdoms.

Allies and enemies alike race to uncover the truth behind the silken lies that bind them. Loyalties will be tested. Kingdoms will fall. And as Maddie’s magic calls out across the realms, it may either save their world… or unravel it completely.

In the Kingdom of Silk, love and lies are spun from the same thread—and only one will survive the unraveling.

Hello, Readers. My name is Quinn Loftis and I am lucky enough to call myself a novelist. In 2011, I self-published my first novel, Prince of Wolves with no expectations, other than my friends and family might purchase the book out of pity. Now, several years later, with 30+ novels and counting under my belt, Prince of Wolves had been downloaded over 1 million times. Though I was hesitant at the time to submit my work to the world for their scrutiny, I'm so glad I did. It made my dream of making a living by telling stories a reality.

I'm blessed to share my household my wonderful husband of more than twenty years (who also co-writes with me on occasion), three beautiful sons, a French Bulldog, and an oversized tabby cat. I love hearing from readers, so if you have any questions about the books or my journey, don't hesitate to hit the 'Contact Quinn' in the menu above. Thank you so much for taking a chance on my books.

First, I would like to thank Quinn for giving me the opportunity to be an ARC (advanced reader copy) reader. I always find it hard to wait for one of Quinn’s books, so to get the honour of reading before it was published was awesome!

Quinn has done it again with Kingdom of Silk, but as a reader of her books, I am not surprised. There were twists, heartache and laughing. If you haven’t read any of the Shifter series, do it now before this book gets released. And if you have read them all, I would even say read at least the last one again. Although Quinn does have some recaps from the previous books in the series, they are just enough to be a reminder (which is perfect) and you will be lost if have never read any of the series.

Kingdom of Silk did not disappoint. Although I didn’t need a box of tissues for this one, my eyes thank you Quinn, I still had heartache for the characters. There was betrayal and deceit and the ones that had to make the decisions on how to deal with all of that, well I am sure it will affect them one way or another.

The fun banter between each of the mates that we all love, was there. Both sides showed their patience. The females showed it for how protective, sometimes overly protective if you ask them, their males are. The males showed it towards the unmated males and their comments and how the females responded to these comments. Even Otto with his “I bites you,” to anyone that he doesn’t agree with. The Alpha female, who we get to know more, explains to the females why it is a good thing they are always being told to stay behind. I just hope this is not a foreshadow of what is to come.

The book’s focus was on Maddie and Roan and the predicament they found themselves in while in the Kingdom of Silk. We got to see their connection come alive. We got a glimpse of what Visata has in store for Maddie that no one was expecting. As much as I wish there was more, because it was only a glimpse, it allows for their story to continue in the future books. New characters were brought in to compliment returning characters, again to continue in future books of a different Kingdom.

I honestly don’t know how Quinn does it. The way she writes just transports you right there. It easy so easy to get so involved in the book, that you better set aside some time to read it. You will not want to put it down

I felt so lost. The story began as if we should have read its predecessors because I wasn't feeling anything for the characters, and the romance might have had some build up in the previous books that I couldn't appreciate here - almost insta-love. Obviously, the MCs weren't falling all over each other yet, but they're already thinking in an emotional context which you know they'll get there. BOOORING!

The idea pulled me in, however the execution showed me the exit real fast. This wasn't a bad story, just not the type I'm looking for or used to. The writing style and tone of voice failed to attract me.

Where are all the other 2-3 stars reviewers? I wouldn't bother reading the 5 stars reviews because they won't tell you what you want to gleam from the story, trust me, I wanted to know WHY I SHOULDN'T BE READING IT, in order to READ it.

It was my honor to be an ARC (Advanced Readers Copy) for the Kingdom of Silk (KOS). I love the Kingdom Series.  The book will be released the day before Thanksgiving. You might want to pre-order now that way no matter what, it will be ready for you.

If you are a Quinn Loftis fan, you already know that she does not disappoint. KOS is different enough to keep you guessing, tense enough to keep you reading, humorous enough to keep you laughing, and deep enough to keep you questioning.  Love, light and loyalty battle greed, power hunger and selfishness. Spiders and snakes, lions and panthers, bears and wolves all are represented.

Our three girlfriends are back and are joined by other women. Each must face her own fears and insecurities while learning to navigate the supernatural world. As young adults from New York, Lola, Katy, and Maddie bring their signature sarcasm, bravado, and understanding. Callon, Gage and Roan tackle evil scheming while also attempting to learn which kingdoms are allies and which are foes. Raphael and Nico have prominent roles, and their unorthodox ways are on full display. The rules governing the kingdoms are changing. Visata, the deity who created the kingdoms, helps sometime and is silent other times. Some questions get answered and more questions arise.

Maddie is potentially a new Shaman. Roan volunteers to help her learn shamanistic rules and introduce her to other Shamans. The Kingdom of Chaos, Silk, Claws, Venom, and Fangs are represented in this storyline. Other kingdoms are yet to be explored.

Tattoos speak loudly without uttering a word. Kidnapped women must make difficult, life altering decisions. Humans and animals alike must learn to balance their lives, honor Visata, and remain true to their nature.

I highly recommend this fast paced, enjoyable book. If you like HEA, laughing, yelling at characters (and the author), enjoying a good mystery, and the unexplainable within a paranormal setting, Kingdom of Silk is for you. It is not the end of the Kingdom Series. 10 Kingdoms, four books. Do the math. Many more books are yet to come.

I am ready for all of them.

Kingdom of Silk is everything I hoped for and more. From the very first chapter Maddy completely steals the spotlight. Her strength, her heart, and her quiet but powerful determination create a connection that pulls you straight into the story. Watching her discover what she is capable of while trying to make sense of a world filled with shifting rules, supernatural secrets, and rising danger is both emotional and exhilarating. She shines in every scene she is in.

The relationships around her only make her journey feel even richer. The banter, the tension, the loyalty, and the protective instincts from those who care for her all add layers of warmth and depth. Every interaction feels alive. The moments of humour, frustration, and vulnerability blend together in a way that makes the characters feel like a real family trying to navigate impossible choices.

The world building is captivating. Each kingdom offers new mysteries, new threats, and new allies. Visata’s influence is felt throughout the unfolding events and every answer seems to open the door to even more questions. There is a sense that much bigger things are stirring and Maddy stands at the centre of it all.

What truly sets this book apart is the emotional weight woven through the action. The tension is gripping, the twists keep you guessing, and the heartfelt moments hit exactly where they need to. Maddy’s growth feels earned and powerful. Her courage and compassion become the guiding light of the story and it is impossible not to root for her.

I highly recommend this gripping and beautifully paced book. If you enjoy strong heroines, emotional depth, supernatural intrigue, and a story that keeps you reading far later than planned, Kingdom of Silk will be an absolute favourite. I am more than ready for what comes next.

Kingdom of Silk

Why spiders? It's one of my personal phobias. These spiders however are much like the rest of us because they are shifters! This is book 4 in Quinn Loftis shifter series and while it starts off on the slow side it doesn't disappoint. Even though the theme is the same throughout Quinn's books there is always something different going on. There are new characters to discover, new personalities and always sass to be had. I honestly do not understand how these characters survive day to day life! The females are strong, fierce and independent (and will definitely give the males a run for their money). The men while some are goofy, some are broody and all of them may not get along, one thing that they all have in common is love for their mates and a desire to see wrongs righted (well most of them any way).

Every time I read Quinn Loftis book I am whisked away to another time and place, a place where I wish I could exist. Reading these books provides a little escape from the crazy world that we live in (yes some of Quinn's book world is crazy but hey they have back-up in best friends and mates). In KoS you will see how trying to do something with good intentions can back-fire, you will see that every action (good or bad) has a consequence AND you will see if you play stupid games you will definitely win a stupid prize. Remember the Creator is not to be trifled with. So while this particular book started slow, it did pick up and I loved it. I'm looking forward to the next installment. If you haven't read one of Quinn's books, pick one up and get started. You wont be disappointed.

I’ll be honest: before this series, I never thought I’d be interested in a shifter world that wasn’t centered around the typical werewolves. But Quinn Loftis has completely expanded my expectations. She’s created a universe where each kingdom and each type of shifter feels fascinating, fresh, and impossible to resist.

Stepping into Kingdom of Silk, the fourth book in the Kingdom of Shifters series, feels less like starting a new installment and more like being pulled straight back into a world you already love. Quinn’s ability to drop you right into the action—smoothly, quickly, and without missing a beat—is exactly why her books are so hard to put down.

This installment drops Maddie and Roan into danger right away, with an intriguing thread woven throughout—hinting that Maddie may be far more than anyone realized. That mystery adds steady tension and keeps the pages turning.

The returning cast brings warmth, humor, and heart, while new characters slide effortlessly into the world. Quinn also shines in the way she weaves the kingdoms of Silk, Claws, Chaos, and Fangs into the storyline, making the world feel bigger and more connected with every chapter.

Fast-paced, immersive, and layered with just the right amount of intrigue, Kingdom of Silk is another strong addition to a series that continues to surprise me—in the best way possible.

I was lucky to be chosen as an ARC reader for this book.
As always Quinn does not disappoint with making you sit on the edge of your seat waiting to find out what’s really going on.

Absolutely loved meeting the new characters and seeing the old ones come together to fight the evil in their kingdoms. The whole Mate concept is pretty cool too, I mean who wouldn’t like to find the one that is meant just for them and no one else??? One that would do everything in their power to make you happy.
Granted the men can be a tensy bit overprotective but the girls seem to know how to put them in their place…. Sometimes lol.

If you’ve read the other books you will be happy to see Otto and his cute craziness is back too! Everyone really needs an Otto in their life, especially when they need someone bitten….
The evil in all the kingdoms needs to be defeated but will our good guys be able to stop it before it’s too late???

If you haven’t read the other Kingdom Shifters books I highly suggest you read them first. Totally worth it and let you better understand who they are and what they’re fighting.

Perfect

I never get enough of Quinn's books. The stories are so vivid but not overwhelming. Kingdom of Silk is the fourth in the Kingdom of Shifters series. It continues seamlessly where we left off in book three, with Maddie and Roan as they deal with their sticky situation as they explore their emotions and try to find a way forward. The way that Quinn's writing will have you sucked right in with these characters, will have you laughing, stressing or angry right along side of them is amazing. We were introduced to new characters as well as catching back up with our favorite s as well. Everyone's favorite little lizard doesn't disappoint. This is a must re-read for me. I hardly put it down and yet dreaded as I got halfway through, knowing the end was coming. Thankfully Quinn likes to have many installments in her series so I know I'll get to visit with Lola and Callon, Katy and Gage, Roan and Maddie as well as all of our newly introduced characters again soon. I highly recommend this series as well as any of Quinn's other series. You just can't go wrong.

It was my utmost privilege to be an ARC reader for book 4 of the Kingdom Shifter Series. Hands down, Quinn is my favorite author, and has been for years. If you've never read any of Quinn's series, they are all phenomenal, and I highly recommend them.

In this installment of the Kingdom of Shifter series, we get to follow Roan and Maddie, and let me tell you, I have been waiting for their happy ending since the beginning. Their relationship is full of denial and snark, but as a reader, you just knew their ending was going to be epic, and it absolutely was. Roan is teaching Maddie the ins and outs of being a shaman, and tension is in the air. As always, one of the fab three is in danger, and the other two friends will stop at nothing to see them home safe. One thing is for certain: Visata is going to shake all the kingdoms, and big changes are coming. Who will remain on the righteous path? Will kingdoms remain unbroken?

I can’t thank Quinn enough for being able to receive an ARC copy.

Here it goes! I think this book tops the other two and that’s saying a lot and the other two books are already incredible. What I really like about this book and Quinn is how she’s able to have multiple detailed story lines that gives us everything about the characters we want to learn more about. She makes each storyline so good that I don’t even mind when one chapter switches to someone else. Ugh Roan and Maddie! It’s everything I wanted and a few surprises. Loved being able to get to know the characters more and a little surprised about learning more about Nico and Raphael. That was a pleasant surprise.

Read the series! It’s so good! Friendships are incredible and the romance it’s adorable. Not a spicy book but it’s perfectly fine because every relationship development is so stinking good!

I had the incredible honor to be an ARC for Kingdom Of Silk. Oh my dear Quinn, what have you done to me? Each page had me flipping faster, each chapter had me on the edge of my seat! I always wish I was one of those people who could stay up all night and finish I book because I have to know what happens next!!!!! I have to say this one threw me for a loop, you never knew what was going to happen next. There was unexpected betrayal and all kinds of other secrets I wish I could reveal but can't!!!! I always wish that I give Quinn more than 5 stars because she deserves it!!!!
I definitely recommend reading this book. But, you need to start at the beginning of the series to fully understand this book. Well done Quinn, as usual!!!!!

Just as a spider weaves the perfect web, Quinn has weaved book four of the Kingdom of Shifters series into perfection. The story line is easy to follow and get lost in, not to mention leaving you wanting more!

The trials, the pain, betrayal, hard truths, friendships, and love that is expressed in this book are all relatable to real life experiences that any one of us has or could potentially face in our own lives. The way the characters overcome challenges are a good reminder, or lesson that we could very easily apply to our own tribulations. It is no secret that every book Quinn puts out, I fall in love with, but the real question is..if you haven't read her books yet, what are you waiting for?

I had the privilege of being an ARC reader.

This is the 4th installment of the Kindom series. Maddie and Roan were on their way meet with Lyric the KOS shaman, when things don't go as planned.
This book picks up from there. They are forced to be in very close proximity, and things heat up.
While Maddie an Roan are at KOS, the other shamans Nico and Rapheal are helping another trio of Animus escape.

The banter between the shamans and girls are great, I loved the sarcasm. We get more of our favorite lil lizard Otto as he goes back n forth with Gage and Katy. You get all the emotions here: love, lust, and acceptance.

This is a great series, that I know you're going to love!

Kingdom of silk what can I say…….. Awesome book my now favorite outcasts have become my fave! Good gravy I just love all of Quinn’s books everyone is an emotional roller coaster but in a good way and they all leave you wanting more. So as usual this book was a book I couldn’t put down! I can’t wait to see what happens with the characters but by far my favorite is Otto I love that little lizard. If you haven’t read this book series I beg of you to Read them you won’t regret it. Quinn has a way of sucking you into a book. The characters become your family your fiends and yes even your enemies. But be prepared to laugh, shout, get angry, celebrate and yes tears will be shed but it is so worth it.

Firstly, thank you Quinn for the ARC!

Now, let me tell you why you need to read this book: because it’s awesome! This is book 4 in the kingdom shifter series, and things are getting … hairy for our heroes. This book will have you on the edge of your seat, eating up every page, devouring the details. If you’ve read Quinn’s books before, which I assume you have given that this is book 4, then you know the quality of work Quinn puts out. She pours her heart into her books and this one is no different! So grab some popcorn, get a cozy blanket and perhaps a cat (not a lion) to cuddle with, and buckle up. This one’s a wild ride.

Oh Quinn. Quinny Quinn Quinn. You have made another winner. Which is the case with every book of yours that I read. First I want to say thank you for letting me be an ARC reader for this book I thoroughly enjoyed the story. We get to met some new characters as well as hear from some of our favorite characters from the past books (aka Otto.) I was hooked from beginning to end. I would have honestly finished this in a day, but ya know…. work and all. I am very much looking forward to seeing where are new couple takes us in the next book.

I just loved the flow of this book. Quinn was able to pick up right where she left off with the previous book. This book has the right amount of twists and turns without feeling overwhelming. Great balance of intrigue and suspense. Quinn has the talent to bring in new characters and giving them the spotlight while at the same time being able to flawlessly bring former characters into play within those moments.
I highly recommend this book, but do suggest starting with the first book if you haven’t yet.

Kingdom of Silk is the 4th book in the Kingdom Shifter series and this book doesnt just focus on one character even though it follows Maddie's story within it. It intertwined with characters that have popped up throughout the series. So it definitely keeps you on your toes. With all of the plot twists and turns it gripped me from the first chapter. For me though it's the wit and laughter especially from Maddie & Roan as well as Otto (my favourite from the start) that I loved the most. This series just keeps getting better and better. I'm loving reading it.

Stop right here. You want this book, you need this book. I absolutely loved it and I know you will too. This is the 4th book in the series and where I started the journey. If you have read any of Quinn's books, you know she has a magical way of bringing her characters to life and transporting you into the story. If this is the first time reading one of Quinn's books, you are in for a treat. You can feel the emotions radiating of the characters. Over protective dominant men and a few sassy women make for a very fun read. I highly recommend this book and series.

Story telling at its best!

Quinn Loftis paints pictures with her words! As an artist, I feel I see things in more detail than some.
I have only discovered Quinn and 'The Pack' this last year, but I have read 30+ books and am hungry for more! Reading these books is like watching a movie on my mind. She perfectly describes situations, emotions, and feelings in such detail that it is like you are there. I feel part of the story. It is so easy to get tied up in the emotion within the characters and plots. I am hungry for more! Thank you so much for sharing your talent.

Great Read

I really enjoyed this series. This series was full of action. There was never a dull moment. This author really did a great job of making the characters come to life. This author did a great job of creating a series without have to write about sex. I was refreshing to read about couples falling in love without all the extras. I really enjoyed the talented writing of Quinn Loftis. Great job. I would like to see more stories written like this series. Great job.

Oh my gosh Quinn there is never a book that I come across that you write that I don't just fall in LOVE with. This new world that you have created just draws you in and doesn't want to let you leave. The characters just make you laugh and cry and just feel. Without giving any spoilers I would like to say that you shouldn't start this one unless you are prepared to be emotional and can laugh and cry sometimes all at once. As usual Quinn leaves you begging for more.

I received an ARC of this book. Thank you Quinn for this amazing world you have created. This one was wonderfully written. New characters and learning more about characters introduced in the previous books. Who doesn't love new people. When I finished this book I was ready for the next one. Start with Book 1 if you haven't tried this series and you will quickly get to this book once you are hooked.

So good

I was so excited when this book came out, and it didn't disappoint! The story continues, original characters, joined with new characters. A great storyline that weaves in the past books characters and the continuation of the story as well as the character development into this one. As I was finishing I became sad thinking this was the end, but nope, Quinn has more for us!

Oh, man! Quinn has done it again with this book. It had me on edge, laughing and yelling at characters and to be honest, Quinn too. If you have read and fell in love with the og three musketeers, better known as Jen, Jacque and Sally… you will love this fast paced book as it takes you deeper into the world of Damarians.
