The Red Thread

Rate this book
In this haunting short story, Ali awakens in a ruined world tethered to a corpse that wears her face. With no memory and only a red thread guiding her, she follows fragments of love and loss through bloodstained streets and broken recollections. As the voice of someone she once loved calls her home, Ali must confront what she’s become—and what she’s willing to sacrifice to keep a promise. The Red Thread is a quiet, devastating tale of identity, grief, and the enduring power of love.

I love this. And I'm not a big horror or zombie fan. But there was something so touching in the lead character as she navigates her way into her new life/death. I actually wept at the end. It's a great short read that kept me hooked to the end. Samantha Swalgin is an up-and-coming writer, for sure. I can't wait to see what else she comes up with.
