'My Ghost Roomate: The Complete Series: M/M Paranormal Romance' written by Darryl Banner, (Audible) narrated by C.J. Rivera & Daryl Banner

There were parts of this tale that had me laughing out loud, and there were creepy parts; mostly I was fascinated by the on-again off-again interactions between the the ghost and the new tenant in the ghost's old apartment. Watching them trying to figure out how to navigate between these unseen worlds and what actually happened to ghost-boy, hooked me right into trying to solve ghost-boy's death, right along with both of them...with some odd help from the landlady who is (mostly) keeping her own secrets!
At first I kinda liked ghost-boy...but now? not so sure; I have misgivings due to his attitude swings.
(UPDATE: yeah, I do like ghost-boy, West, after all, even when he comes across as a big "frat-bro".)
Don't even get me started on the outrageous Mrs. S, the landlady who lives right across the hall; she seems to have no boundaries whatsoever!
First off I have to say what a good writer Daryl Banner is, as the storyline held my interest throughout this tale!
I'm glad I bought this whole series as the storyline is not resolved at end of Book 1. As I'm sure you-all know, in some series each book's storyline is completed when that particular book ends, while others leave us with a cliff-hanger so we might feel compelled to read the rest of the books in that series to find out what happens!
And...yep, this is a cliff-hanger! (grin)
I liked book 1 so I bought the whole set.
Finally finished all books in this series. At first I was surprised a bit at the time jump into the future in the last book, but when I thought about it some more it made sense. I couldn't help but smile at this portrayal of a teen boy going through his first crush on another boy, and the continuation of the ghost-boy tale was a lot of fun.
Oh, and I really like this book cover; it's got the right amount of atmosphere of mystery & foreboding, plus a really hot guy...so there ya go!

This is the first book in what has become a series and it's so good! Humorous and witty, Griffin moves to an apartment to start a job in town. The landlady is odd and she rhymes off a list of things to not do in his new apartment. What is going on in this apartment?
Byron is the sexy barista Griffin finds so attractive and wants to be with but his anxiety and confidence is really low.
Griffin forgets what not to do and that's when he meets Weston.
"That's when I spot the dud leaning against the wall staring back at me through the darkness, a limp slice of pizza dangling from his hand."
"The aroma of pumpkin spice, sweetness, and cream feeds my soul before I've even taken my first sip." I love pumpkin spice anything!!!
"The smoke dances-swirling, smoky worms of regret, coiling and recoiling before my eyes, fading."
"That familiar, terrifying spark of courage that likely has everything to do with West ignites within me."
"I swear our souls met in a past life."
This book was so good, the Pumpkin Prince is the next book. I am always delighted with this author's imagination and colourful characters. Daryl brings his wit and charm into his characters and you can't help feeling something warm and fuzzy every time you read one of his books.One of the stories in this book set is My Pumpkin Prince and this is my review of that story. This was another incredible story by the Daryl Banner author extraordinaire! This story should be read after My Ghost Roommate, and it was great fun to spend time with Griffin, Bryon and Westley the ghost.
Griffin and Bryon are saying I do, on Halloween, the same day they had their first date. This is also the day West died celebrating his birthday. Both betrothed are feeling guilty about keeping some secrets from each other. Will they work things out before their marriage?
"As if my heart isn't filled with enough uncertainty and fear, my own memory of that day haunts me."
"For a moment, we're trapped in each other's gazes, falling deeper the longer we look at one another."
"My mind tries to fill with everything he loves, as if setting afire some kind of soul beacon that might reach West."
This story had my emotions all over the place; happy, sad, concerned, and laughing as well. In true Banner fashion, the reader is kept on the edge of their seat and turning page after page and feeling what the characters are feeling and experiencing. The extra characters add tension and suspense to this wonderfully written book. Never a dull moment in Daryl's novels!

MY GHOST ROOMMATE
Ohhh my goodness!! The best holiday book, if you consider Halloween a holiday.
You have a strange landlady, Mrs. Shaheen, a frat dude ghost, West, a hot barista, Byron and little ol' Griffin with self esteem issues.
You must follow three simples rules...(ah, but you have to read the book to find these out!)
This book was just a delight to read. It was spunky, funny, a tiny bit heartbreaking and soul fulfilling.
I binged this book so hard and so will you. Happy reading and Happy Halloween!
MY PUMPKIN PRINCE
Holy Mother of Pumpkin Spice! This book was just freaking phenomenal! I didn't realize that I needed the rest of the story.
"This lady can lick my big crystal balls!". This quote had me laughing so hard.
I will say this again, Daryl Banner can write y'all. I ain't even kidding. This book put me thru so many emotions. I even had some tears hanging right there on my lashes refusing to fall. Ugh!
It's crazy how you can feel the words as you read them. Do you believe in ghosts? I would have said absolutely NOT yesterday, but today, ya know, you gotta question it.
Daryl writes the best quirky side characters.
I'll say it again, gah, this book was so, so good. High Five Daryl!
A total must read peeps. BUT you MUST read "My Ghost Roommate (Who Helps Me Get The Guy)" first or this book won't make any sense.

Weston really wanted Westley's help with getting the guy just like he helped Weston's two dads. I mean, you do stupid things when you're young, but it could work. Right? Right!

My Ghost Roommate wasn't at all what I was expecting. The relationship between the MC and his unintended roomie is a intense, muddled, but endearing to watch unfold. There are some tidbits of what a reader would expect in this genre of story, but the emphasis is placed on the roommate being a ghost then a long term friend than on any sexy hijinks. All the characters and their interactions with each other have a purpose in the story and the cast is small for pacing and keeping the story on track. It's worth the read as long as you aren't in it for just spice.

It was fun to celebrate the season by returning to this series and reading the final new story. This author is very talented and can make me laugh and smile with his witty dialogue and writing.

West is conjured by his namesake, 15 year old Weston, for love advice in the final installment. The first 2 books are amazing as well. I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy. its snarky and humorous.
