Mac is again in trouble when Tru gets in trouble by unknowingly helping a poacher harvest lobsters from an off limits sanctuary area. The problems escalate when an CIA smuggling operation is uncovered. Mac is really in trouble now and his house and boat are forfeit as he scrambles to clear his name while dodging bullets.

This review is for my own purposes. If you might be interested in reading this book or book series then go ahead and do so; do not let this review sway you in any way. Make your own decisions.

So, I have read the first three books in this series now, and I have figured out what felt a bit off in all of them. It’s the main characters; I don’t like them. The way they treat each other just feels … off… wrong… I am not sure. It just leaves me not particularly interested in any of them.

The stories are good, nice build up, and great excitement at the end of each of them. Unfortunately I just don’t like the main characters. By the end of the third book I had started to like Trufante a bit more but I was liking Mac and Mel way less.

I am probably just in the wrong head space for these books at the moment.

There are plenty of Tropical Authors out there. I will give some of them a try next time.

An SB. Key West Thriller/Poaching/Lawsuit/CIA/Cuban Baseball Players

SB. has. penned the third novel (MTAB - 3), which includes server story lines that lead into one. A chance use of MT's . boat leads to a law suit and when Mac and Mel began to investigate they stumble across a Cuba to Florida smuggling ring being run by the CIA, which was the reason for the lawsuit. The CIA. does not want the public to know what is going on, but there are no secrets in Key West. This is an excellent read for the genre.....DEHS

Relaxing in Key West

I really like reading this series. I feel like I am in the Keys as Mac go around the islands. I can see the docks at Key West and the mangroves around the outer islands.

One of the best

Well, this one was a doozy! Good ole Tru, always a sucker for a lady, always a black cloud of trouble hanging over his head... Always seems to dump it into Mac's life!

Good Thriller

Another good Mac Travis book with lots of adventure, surprises and unexpected twists and turns. The character Truffante is getting a bit tiredome and if eliminated from future stories, ho won't be missed in the slightest. Getting ready to read book 4.

Didn't enjoy this as much as the previous two. Maybe I read them too close together? I just found Tru annoying and selfish this time around rather than endearing and I can't decide if I like Mel for Mac or not.

I'll read book 4 but I'm in no rush to get to it.

I read this out of order but the plot stood on it's own. This was a fun book to read, action packed and the plot was complex and not predictable. Once started it was a hard book to put down.

If you enjoy boating you might like the Mac Travis series. I have read 3 so far. For me, the books have too many boating details.

Another great book by Steven Becker. Well developed characters, a couple brought forth from other books, many turns and twists make this book a great read. The introduction of the female sheriff is a nice touch. You owe it to yourself to read this book.

Wolf's Wreck

A good thriller with lots of boating action but it left me with to many questions! There were to many inconsistencies for my liking as well. An epilogue would have been welcome.

I would have liked Mr. Becker's "Wood's" books a lot better if someone had fixed the misused words, grammar, and syntax. The story was reasonable.

Enjoyable read

Good action and fun to read. Lots of narrow escapes and good lead in for the next book. No real complaints, but just a slightly above average book.
