Some secrets don’t sleep. They wait.

Dr. Grace Lennox was supposed to heal in the new house. Instead, a patient is dead, her nights are broken, and the calls won’t stop.

Static. A lullaby from her childhood. A voice that says she knows what she did. Is she the victim of a setup—or her own missing hours?

Detective Rhodes sees motive and means. Alex, her careful husband, wants trust she can’t give. Tess, her twin, offers an alibi that doesn’t feel clean.

The house tightens around tripped alarms, shifting shadows, cameras miss what she hears.

Then a video clip arrives—night-vision, a gloved intruder, and a V-notch stamped in a heel. Another clip lands with Tess—same mark, same steps.

Grace tracks timelines, call routes, and hospital logs. Every answer opens another trapdoor.

Can she trust what she remembers—or is someone teaching her to doubt it?

Someone is watching. A buried truth is waking—and it wants her.

I found this book a bit confusing at first. It was difficult to figure out who was who and where the activities were taking place. I had to re-read some of the passages to understand better. Perhaps I am too obtuse to appreciate this author's writing. I spent much of the book trying to guess the ending, playing out various scenarios in my mind. I will admit that the real ending caught me a bit flat footed.
There is a lot of angst in the main character, Grace. Knowing her past though, it is understandable. There is a lot to keep track of here. All in all, it's a read worthy of your time.

Another wonderful read from Skye Arden. “Insomnia” is insanely good! Holding your attention from the start, to finish with a “wow” climax!
This book had an amazing storyline with unforgettable characters. I started this book and couldn’t put it down. It’s drags you in and invests you in the story.
Dr Grace Lennox is a Neurologist.
Her husband Alex is a psychology professor. He thinks he can “read” anyone, and that he can understand and fix Grace. But Grace has secrets he could never know.
When she wakes up with blood on her hands and a space of time gone.. and hears a difficult patient of hers Lilah Carter was killed.. and a hour of security footage’s missing. She fears she’s following in her father’s path. Especially when Detective Callum Rhodes start calling. And when the detective ask why her prints showed up at the crime scene, she totally panics and is place on administrative leave.
Did she do this horrendous thing or is she being set up? And is more to come?
We have our intriguing setup and it’s only gets better!!
This book has all you want from a psychological thriller! With an ending that will leave your mouth hanging open😁.
Grace’s childhood friend Tess’s mysterious words..”Secrets don’t stay buried forever. Not yours. Not mine. Not his.”
Skye Arden is my new favorite psychological / thriller writer!❤️

Thank you to the author for providing a free Advance Reader Copy. I’m voluntarily sharing my honest and unbiased review.

Insomnia is a well-written psychological thriller with a compelling premise that hooked me from the start. As the story unfolded, I found myself increasingly unsure about certain characters—whether they were helping Grace or working against her. That ambiguity may well be intentional, adding to the suspense, but it left me questioning my grasp of the plot at times. Others may find this layered uncertainty more engaging.

Grace’s emotional turmoil is palpable throughout, and while I sympathized with her situation, I did grow a little weary of her constant clumsiness—particularly the number of times she drops her phone. It’s a minor detail, but one that stood out enough to feel repetitive.

Overall, Insomnia delivers a tense, twist-filled experience. If you enjoy intense psychological thrillers with unreliable perspectives and emotional depth, this one is worth a read.

Grace is a doctor and is trying to get her life back on track. However someone else (maybe?) is doing their best to make sure that never happens. Is the new house haunted? Why does Grace have time missing? Memories that don't match with other people's stated events. What is happening? Grace doesn't know if she can or should trust the police, her husband, her twin, ... Immediately drawn into this thriller and it sent literal chills down my spine. Guessing right up until the end as to what was going on. Fantastic!.

Insomnia is a nerve-tightening thriller focusing on our main character's sleepless mind as the perfect lens for dread. As strange incidents mount, calm explanations only deepen the unease, when raw, sharp clarity is needed. Grit and authority is added when a patient disappears, twisting the knot tighter. Someone sees too much and turns every hallway into a trap. Tense, twisty, and impossible to put down.

I love psychological thrillers and Insomnia was great! It kept me on edge the whole time I was reading it. I suspected the wrong people, the right people and felt anger at who was messing with her. Why would they do that? Why was the murder being blamed on her? Was her sister in on it? Her husband? The hospital?

I would have insomnia too if that happened to me. Dr Grace Lennox is a neurologist. A patient dies and things start spiraling down. She gets an odd phone call with a lullaby from her childhood and a message saying she knows what she did. Things keep happening to her and is she losing it mentally or getting set up? It kept me reading with the twists and little things happening. This is a great psychological thriller. I received an ARC copy from the author and this is my honest review.

Punch one; Punch two; Punch three! All the sentences and paragraphs throughout this entire story are short punches of fact, description, action driving and compelling the story forward quickly! The action, drama, descriptions are all very well done even as delivered in such punches! There are jarring twists and turns! It seems to be a great novel; and yet, I just didn't relate and engage with the main character and story (hence it was four star for me _ YMMV).

Immediately I was drawn to this book by my curiosity and boy I was glad to have read it the twists changed directions numerous times showing me I'm dead wrong at whom I think is involved. I hate to admit it, but once I got stared on this book nothing else got done till I finished it it's unputdownable.

I received this book as an ARC. Wow! I just finished this new book by Skye Arden and it’s just as good as the last one I read, The House She Never Left. Insomnia grabbed me from the beginning and kept building until I didn’t have a clue what would happen next. Lots of creep ‘who is outside the door’ action and twists. Very nice!

Dr Grace Lennox has a patient die in the hospital. There is some security footage missing and they are looking at Grace. She is having trouble sleeping with phone calls and strange happenings. Someone is watching her. A thriller that keeps your interest.

Insomnia is not an easy read as it describes how a tortured mind behaves and how conspiracies can be built inside ourselves when the stepping stones are put into place. It also shows how trust and acceptance can be a balm to the burdens we carry.
I thank the author for this ARC.
