Have you ever played Guess Who while blindfolded with three irresistible firemen?
Not yet…
My name is Abby Lee, or BayAreaAbby, according to one million followers on Social Share. There are quite a few perks to having that kind of following, but each month I put together a local community donation event and it’s my favorite thing to do. December’s theme, “Support Your Local Fire Station,” was no different.
Until them.
Major Lockridge, the fire chief with perfectly styled salt and pepper hair, whose gaze sears into me behind those sexy-as-sin black rimmed glasses. Jasper Monroe, the easy-going one with the bright, inviting smile and razor sharp jawline. Wade Burke, an Olympic gold medalist in grumpiness with his broad shoulders and tan skin.
These three firemen couldn’t be any different from each other. So, how am I equally attracted to each one of them?
It’s one day. One event. Surely I can’t fall for three men at the same time, right?
Lettuce Turnip the Beet is an MMFM scorching, why choose romance, featuring three devastatingly gorgeous heroes. It contains an age gap, grumpy/sunshine with a bi-awakening and a HEA. This is intended for readers 18+ and as always, please check triggers before reading.
Berlin was raised in a tiny town in North Idaho who migrated to the Bay Area, California where she still resides with her husband and two boys. Her bucket list items include skydiving, attending the Oscars, becoming a New York Times Best Selling author, and cruising the world for retirement. She loves writing strong females and powerful alpha males. Reading ANY and ALL kinds of romance novels is her jam and she loves engaging with the booksta community. You can find her most active on instagram!
I went in with low expectations and ended up enjoying this way more than I anticipated.
🚒 The Premise
Abby is a social media influencer who hosts monthly community donation events, using her platform to give back while rebuilding her confidence after a painful betrayal. December’s event brings her to a local firehouse on Christmas Eve—where she meets three very attractive firefighters: Major, Wade, and Jasper.
Chemistry sparks immediately, playful flirting follows, and a game of Truth or Dare (and Guess Who 👀) quickly pushes the night into very spicy territory.
🤭 My Thoughts
Let’s be real: this book is wildly unrealistic.
Nearly the entire story takes place over a single day, with Abby’s connections to all three men escalating rapidly. If realism matters to you, this may not fully land—but if you’re willing to suspend disbelief, it’s a great time.
The spice is undeniably scorching, but what surprised me most was how invested I became despite the novella length. Each MMC was distinct, with just enough backstory to make their bond with Abby—and with each other—believable.
Abby truly anchors the dynamic. Her warmth and confidence naturally pull the men together, creating space for honesty, vulnerability, and emotional openness.
Wade and Jasper were the standouts for me. Their sexual tension, emotional push-and-pull, and Wade’s bisexual awakening were handled beautifully. Wade being a grumpy single dad deep in denial only made it better, while Jasper’s golden-retriever sunshine energy balanced him perfectly.
Major rounds out the group as the steady, commanding presence—the calm anchor holding everyone together. The found-family element added far more heart than I expected.
There is a third-act breakup that felt a bit forced given the compressed timeline, though it resolves quickly. Even so, the story ended just as I was settling in—I would have loved one or two more chapters to let the relationships breathe.
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Emery Erickson, James Cassidy, Alex Kydd, and Ryan Lee Dunlap, and it genuinely elevated the experience. The full-cast duet narration was fantastic—each narrator fit their character perfectly.
🧑🚒 Final Take
Short, sweet, and unapologetically spicy.
This is a low-angst, high-heat why-choose romance that knows exactly what it’s doing. If you’re in the mood for a quick, flirty read that prioritizes vibes, connection, and 🔥 over realism—this one delivers.
I’m rating this book just as I would rate any of the silly books I often read. This is basically porn without plot, so you can’t expect wonders. I was going to rate it 4 stars until the last 10% of the book happened.
But I liked it, had much fun and it was a perfect read for a lazy Sunday. The guys were hot, the smut was even hotter, so I’m definitely not complaining. Like no kidding, I kept blushing, so kudos to the author for writing it like that.
The characters were likeable, even though you didn’t get to know them on a deeper level.
I didn’t like insta-lust/love, but I very rarely enjoy books in which this trope appears. It’s because I loooooooove when the characters have more emotional connection, and I kind of cannot get that from such a short-paced book. I also really hate any 3rd act conflicts, so that irritated me as well. At 90%, seriously?? They reconcile in the last chapter (last sentences specifically) and there was no epilogue. Well, there was a link to the bonus epilogue, but I honestly felt disappointed that I had to download it to get some closure, meh.
Thank you to the author and The Smuthood for sending me the ARC. It was a pleasure.
safety *spoilers*: -no ow drama/very minor om (but wouldn’t call it drama, her cheating ex appears in the first chapter, and wants her back) -all characters experienced, their experiences were talked about a few times, but it wasn’t too annoying (I didn’t like them talking about their first times 🙄) , one of the MMCs said he was called a manwhore a few times but fortunately no evidence on page for that except his words, another MMC had a wife but they got divorced a few years earlier after he confessed to her that he wanted to share her, and the last (but not least) MMC had a girlfriend who left him two years earlier + a 3-year-old daughter from that relationship -no cheating -3rd act breakup (90% in)
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
4.5⭐️ 5🌶️ 🔥MMFM 🚒Firefighters 🔥Single Dad 🚒Grumpy/Sunshine 🔥Bi-awakening 🚒Frenemies to Lovers 🔥Age Gap 🚒Dual First Person POV I was drawn to this book because of the title and cover, but what sold me was the three hot firemen. This is a sweet and spicy why choose romance with lots of spice. Abby has a big heart and uses her platform as an influencer to support the community. She is collecting donations for the local fire station when she is cornered by her cheating ex. She’s saved by a very tall and hot farmer who pretends to be her new boyfriend and they share an electric kiss. A few weeks later she’s still thinking about the mystery guy and that kiss. Abby meets Wade, Major, and her mystery guy Jasper when she drops off the donations. A game of truth or dare and guess who has never been this spicy. It starts with intense kisses and ends with Abby tied to the fire engine and blindfolded trying to guess who is doing what. Wade and Jasper finally admit their attraction to each other, but Wade struggles with his feelings for another man. Major is the older man in charge who has a thing for watching. If you’re looking for a fast burn and spicy novella, with heartfelt characters, then this is the book for you.

A Few Favorite Quotes: “The sensation of being kissed by one man while staring into the eyes of another is a sexual high I never knew I needed.”
“It’s like I’ve died and gone to fire station heaven.”
“This normally, well-put together man is easily falling apart for me, and I have to admit, the control is sort of addicting.”
“I might call you princess but I’m no prince charming. I’m your king. Now, come sit on my c*€k.”
If you chose truth, Lettuce Turnip the Beet is insanely spicy, so much so I am genuinely surprised the local fire station did not go up in flames for how hot and steamy things got. That and consider this is your sign to pick this book up right before the holidays really heat up your Christmas Spirit (ifykyk).
But if you picked dare, I dare you to read this book. It is just that good. Just a heads up, this one is more heavier on the romance than the plot. If that's not your thing, you can skip the dare... but you'll be missing out.
This book follows an influencer who we know to be as Abby, put together this community donation and brought it to the nearest fire station, planning to drop the boxes off and go back to meet with her friend Cami to do their yearly tradition. Except things take a turn for the better and now she has run into the stranger who saved her from her ex. Which earned herself the nickname "pumpkin." He has been on her mind, and her on his, but she did not only just catch his attention, but everyone else's.

Thank you to the Author Berlin Wick & The Smuthood for the opportunity to read and review this arc!!!.
Abby Lee is a curvy influencer with the biggest heart—she runs monthly donation drives for her community. But this December? Things heat up when she meets three local firemen—Major, Jasper, and Wade—and suddenly the holiday spirit is feeling real spicy. 🎄🔥
Berlin Wick gives us a story full of heart, heat, and so much growth. Abby’s awkward, confident, and kind energy totally shines, and watching her rediscover herself after everything she’s been through? Ugh, perfection. 💖
This isn’t just a steamy romance (though, let’s be honest… the steam could power a small city 😏). It’s about finding your people, letting go, and learning to feel again.
And the audiobook lineup?! EMERY ERICKSON, ALEX KYDD, RYAN, and JAMES CASSIDY?! My poor headphones never stood a chance. 🎧🔥

I picked up this book for the punny title and stayed for the fire it lit—literally and figuratively.
Abby, a social media influencer, ends up at a fire station for a donation drive and meets three irresistible men—Major, Jasper, and Wade. What starts as a teasing blindfolded game turns into a whirlwind of chemistry, emotion, and unexpected tenderness.
The spice is absolutely scorching, but what makes it stand out is the connection between everyone involved. The tension between Jasper and Wade adds a surprising layer of depth, turning the story into more than just a steamy romance—it’s about trust, vulnerability, and love in all its forms.
It definitely leans heavier on spice than plot, but it’s still such a fun, flirty, and thoroughly enjoyable read. With sharp writing, emotional warmth, and a heroine who knows her worth, this book delivers a fiery “why choose” romance that’s both bold and beautifully heartfelt.

This audiobook was such a blast to listen to! It was quick and spicy and just a whole lot of fun!
🔥MMFM romance 🔥Firefighters romance 🔥Bi-awakening
Jasper, Wade, Major, and Abby are absolute fire together! These four officially meet after Abby goes to the fire station. And she ends up getting heated up in ways she never expected!
I don’t know how anyone could choose between the three hunky men?! I feel ya Abby; I really do.
Emery Erickson, James Cassidy, Alex Kydd, and Ryan Lee Dunlap are absolutely fantastic narrators for this one! I highly highly recommend the audiobook!

First of all, thank you Berlin Wick and the Smuthood for the ARC. This was my first book of hers and I’m a sucker for RH so I was particularly stoked for this. It did fall a little flat for me. You don’t go into this type of book expecting great littérature, this is for a fun time.
The characters
Abby - the curvy FMC who struggling with her appearance and relationships Wade - grumpy single dad protector who’s struggling with his desires Jasper - the bisexual eager puppy with his heart on his sleeve Major - the older man daddy/voyeur that glues everyone together
The story follows Abby the influencer who’s taking donations to bring for people in need into a fire station on Christmas Eve. She just got out of a bad relationship and she finds herself attracted to all of the men at the station. She stay for a bit after dropping off the donations and one thing leads to another …
🚨‼️🚨‼️🚨Opinions and spoilers ************
My first impression was that the chapter names were hilarious and it’s rare to see them nowadays. Then my second thoughts was “oh damn already jumping into it” This is as fast a burn as it can be.
1. There were so many ideas wanting to be in there but it was so short that everything felt rushed. It should have been either edited to have less side story or have at least 100 pages more for it to be really good.
2. The smut while hot, was very confusing. I couldn’t picture it and where she was attached to the firetruck ?
3. My type A brain kept thinking that the boys are supposed to be on call ? Having the gear used and thrown every which way, them being only 3 at the station on Christmas Eve ?
4. Some descriptive was redundant. About Abby’s body size, the guys dicks (legit in 2 chapters back to back, the same thing was written about length vs girth)
5. Give Wade a break FFS. In one night the man realized he might be biisexual, kissed his first man, had a blowjob and when he’s so overwhelmed he can barely think you go a leave him behind. Come on. He’s a single dad who doesn’t want to put his daughter in a bad situation after already being abandoned.
6. I hate miscommunication and there was a lot of that going on. And the third act drama was a no from me. The last chapters were absolute nonesense. It ended badly imo
ARC/ALC Review: Multicast Duet narration by Emery Erickson, James Cassidy, Ryan Lee Dunlap, and Alex Kydd
Tropes: Why Choose Age Gap Curvy FMC Grumpy/Sunshine Bi-Awakening Found Family & Holiday Spirit
Whew 😮💨🥵I'm still fanning myself over this book. Its filled with crackling chemistry, tender connection, and an unforgettable cast of characters who feel real, raw, and hot.
This story is everything I love about Berlin’s writing—fun, bold, and full of moments that make you laugh, blush, and sigh all at once. It’s about confidence, community, and the magic of finding joy (and love) in unexpected places.
But what really elevates this book is the audiobook performance. Emery Erickson (new to me) is absolutely brilliant as Abby—her timing, warmth, and ability to capture Abby’s emotional growth make her a narrator I’ll definitely be watching for in future releases. James Cassidy’s deep, gravelly delivery gave Major that perfect mix of authority and sensuality. Ryan Lee Dunlap shines as Jasper with his easy laugh and effortless charisma—you can hear his smile in every word. And Alex Kydd, who never misses, gives Wade’s gruffness a raw emotional edge that made his softer moments hit so much harder.
Huge thank you to Samantha (Smuthood PR) for the ARC and Berlin Wick for this ALC! You’ve once again proven why you’re one of my favorite authors. It’s spicy, heartfelt, and full of joy—a book that reminds me how fun falling in love (with three men!) can be.
This was absolutely adorable and so freaking spicy too; I loved these four so much!! Abby was going through some S when she met these men, but she was strong and confident and still so kind too. Major was *fans self* with his voyeurism keenk and I really enjoyed watching him boss the others around. Jasper and Wade held my whole heart though. Between Wade being a single dad and that backstory and the push and pull between them, I was so freaking smitten with them.
This was like 90% spice, but that 10% plot was really great. I hated Sam so dang much and was happy to see the end of his place in Abby's life. Good riddance.
The audio was fantastic. Duet style multi cast narration produced very well and I loved Emery Erickson James Cassidy, Alex Kydd and Ryan Lee Dunlap. Thank you so much to Must Love Audio for the advanced copy!

I’ll never look at a fire truck the same way again! This book was SPICY. I would say it’s about 90% smut and 10% plot.
I wish the characters had more development throughout the book, because the elements were there! All four characters were very likable. The author did such a great job at creating individual personalities that fit together well. Each character had their own problems that they were working through, and it could’ve went deeper if the book was a bit longer, and I wish it was! It was a really enjoyable read, and I loved the character dynamic!
Also, Abby Lee is a curvy FMC, and I wish the character art depicted that!
Other than that, I loved this read!

This was absolutely the cutest book, and I am so fully obsessed!! I could read so much more of these guys, I loved this book so much!! I loved how we got to see Abby as she accepted the specifics of what she wanted, and grew in her knowledge of what she deserved in a relationship! Her dedication to her socials and to herself was so sweet to watch, as she grew and kept her mind open! And all of these guys were just perfection in their own way! Jasper was the perfect golden retriever pushing everyone just enough without going to far, and keeping everyone comfortable! Wade was every broody dream, as he grew to accept his own wants and needs, while maintaining his dedication to his loved ones! And Major is just everything! He was the absolute perfect rock for everyone in their exploration, especially with how he kept Abby taken care of! I loved every part of this book, and I could easily read another whole book with them!! 5 stars; 3.75 chili peppers

I think if I was going into this expecting erotica, I would have had a completely different reading experience. Instead I was left a little bit confused and baffled as the story progressed in leaps and bounds. The entire book existed over a single day, save for one scene three weeks before, and one scene a week later.
Within that day, which is Christmas Eve, Abby meets 3 firefighters at their station to drop off donations. One she met for an extremely brief encounter three weeks before, and two others she's never met before. Somehow, within a few hours, she's not only connecting with them individually, but playing truth or dare and having group sex with them in the fire station. They of course all fall for her in that time period, and everything ties up in a neat bow a week later in the time jump.
My jaw was quite literally on the floor at how not only unhinged those choices would be in the real world, but also that the author didn't think to spread out the entire novel over more than one day to lend credence to emotional development. Along with that, there were some timeline and scene inconsistencies (which may be corrected in final edits) that got muddled with how rushed the plot was, and it felt very much like everything was chucked together to build a story quickly, but time wasn't spent developing it.
If you're looking for a fast palate-cleanser read this may fit the bill, unfortunately I couldn't connect with it.

Why choose Firefighter MMCs (3 of them) Curvy FMC Found family Bi awakening
Duet multicast narration - Emery Erickson, James Cassidy, Alex Kydd, and Ryan Lee Dunlap Fantastic narration. Perfectly preformed. All great narrators.
Wow. I loved this book so much. It is hard to put it into words but I can say I had the best time listening to this book. It’s engaging, funny, and oh so deliciously spicy.
Abby is a social media influencer who is kind of awkward in real life and slim on friendships. Her ex boyfriend cheated on her with a close friend and is now trying to get her back in an aggressive way when a hot man rescues her. Fast forward a few days not expecting to see that hot man again let alone meet two more of them when she is dropping off donations.
Jasper is a happy go lucky bi sexual heck of a good time kind of guy. He’s immediately into Abby, and has a crush on one of his crew members.
Wade is a single dad who is quiet and reserved a tad bit grumpy and hasn’t been able to admit to himself he is crushing on a crew member but when Abby shows up she might just be the key to opening Wades heart and mind up.
Major is a protective, bossy, one hell of a hunk of man. He likes to watch and this is why his ex wife left him. He’s been single ever since and can’t bring himself to open up to anyone. That is until Abby walks into the station.
These four characters all have their issues and pasts but when they all get together something amazing and almost sweet happens but with some amazing spicy times. I listened to this in one day and I smiled ear to ear through 90% of it. Kicking my feet and squealing. It is so freaking good!
The audiobook was a very well done, duet narration with Emery Erickson, James Cassidy, Alex Kydd, and Ryan Lee Dunlap. I loved their performance. I thought they did a good job portraying emotions, and I thought the bloopers added in at the end were hilarious.
I really enjoyed the book itself, but I wanted a little bit deeper plot and a little more to the story. It was an excellent quick read, with great spiciness. There's a bit of some bi-awakening that felt more central to the story than anything else, but I very much loved how much back story and character depth was built in. it read like an extended novella, and I was left wishing it felt more like a whole, full length novel. I loved the writing, and just want more.
thank you to the author and Duet Narration Audiobook Club for the ALC.
Don't let this silly title stray you away from this book! It's short and very, very steamy!! There's very little plot but what plot there is, is very good! I loved the storyline between Jasper and Wade, the will they finally drop the fighting and just get together already? Their scenes held some emotions. Abby was a very lucky girl and it was well deserved after being her by her ex, best friend and best friend's sister. l'm not sure it was really necessary for 3 guys but the truth or dare and guess who scenes were really HOT!!!
A spicy and quick read with a bit of instalove and of course firefighters. Abby is an influencer and goes to a firehouse to donate items on Christmas Eve, not expecting to meet three gorgeous firefighters that all are attracted to her. Major is the older captain, strong and silent while Wade is the broody single dad and Jasper is the charismatic one. Wade and Jasper have some sexual tension between them as well. They spend an amazing night together but Abby is thrown for a loop when she finds out more truths about her cheating ex and she spirals and runs away. Can the guys convince her they all want this to work between them?
Ok, there are not many authors who fit in my "I will read this shit NO. MATTER. WHAT." Berlin Wick could write a book about clowns who try to romance a mafia teacher with amnesia and an older stepdad with a secret billionaire baby and a fake nanny who loves a her best friend's brother, and I will eat it up.
Berlin Wick introduced me to MFM with "The Secrets We Hide." Now...she's introduced me to my first MMFM. This book was an absolute delight from start to finish! Abby's story is fun, flirty, and completely addictive, and the chemistry between her and the three firemen...LORD. Major, Jasper, and Wade... Each man is so distinct.
I especially loved the bi awakening with Wade and Jasper. I didn't even know it was something I would love. It was handled so naturally and added so much depth to their characters and relationships. Abby’s humor, confidence, and heart shine through every page as she navigates her feelings for three very different men. The story is steamy, emotional, and full of moments that make you laugh and fall in love.
I just wish there was more! I’m dying to see where their relationships go and how their love develops. I want Abby to be a mom to Wade's daughter. I want...UGH. I need MORE! I'm going to beg Berlin Wick to write a duet for these characters. The story wasn't unresolved, but I just needed more of them.
I received this book as an ARC from Berlin Wick and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This quick little spicy novella had me drooling over these three different firefighters who became Abby's found family. From the first, save her from her ex-husband scene to the multiple smeggsy with all three. You want to read about 3 firefighters under your Christmas tree. Look no further for a quick, smutty read. Absolutely get the bonus epilogue, and thank me later.
