They said healing wasn’t a straight line, and Sevyn was proof of that.
After her second brush with death, she chose to fight for herself instead of against herself. No more looking for validation in broken places. No more chasing people who didn’t know how to stay. This time, she was her own reason to breathe.
Life on Sevynth Street had taught her hard lessons, but it also gave her a second chance. When she landed a contract to design a client’s new home, it felt like a sign that she was finally building something lasting brick by brick, room by room, future by future.
But when a familiar face steps through the doorway, the ground she fought to steady herself on starts to crack. Old feelings. Old wounds. Old temptations. Sevyn is forced to choose crumble into the arms that once made her feel safe or stand her ground and protect the woman she had fought so hard to become.
Meanwhile, five years had turned Truth into a man hardened by mistakes he couldn’t take back. He returned to Oak Grove believing he could outrun the ghosts that haunted him but nothing stayed buried forever on Sevynth Street. Especially not the promises he made to a woman he failed to protect.
When he finds Sevyn again, she’s not the broken girl he left behind. She’s stronger. Smarter. Guarded. And she’s carrying secrets of her own secrets that could either bring them closer together or tear them apart for good.
Now, as skeletons rattle louder than ever, Truth has a choice to make. Protect what’s left of his heart… or protect the ones who have no one else to shield them.
Because on Sevynth Street, secrets don’t stay hidden for long.
Okay, so Sevyn must have nine lives, cause girl... 🤯 My heart broke for you when Truth did you dirty, and you came to another breaking point where the pain had become too much, that you didn't see yourself making it. 💔 Thank God for Syx coming to your rescue, and then you learn what??? 😮
The village that was built with Truth stood by her side, helped keep her on the right path and supported her through it all in his absence. Then guess who decides to come back home? 😤 I just don't know if I will ever forgive him for that ish, cause he could have handled that so much better! When they run into each other, he sees that she is no longer the broken woman he left and realizes he wants her back. What???? 👀 The audacity! With another woman still in tow? 🤬 Come on Truth really?? 👀
I get that the love is still there, but chile... Sevyn you should have made him work 50 times harder to win you back after all that! 😤 I do love how he jumped right in building a relationship with Solace and Wisdom trying to right his wrongs and putting in "some" work with Sevyn.
Now, poor Solace is caught up in this mess! They better not hurt that baby! 🥹 I'm still trying to understand what the beef with Sevyn's adoptive family is. They are the ones who did her wrong but are still trying to cause havoc in her life!! 🤬 Then where does Ashley fit into all this?
They have no idea that they have unlocked a monster messing with a woman's baby, and Truth is no slouch either! Running to the next read to see how Sevyn handles herself.
I'm happy for Sevyn; she's found her strength and is doing what she has to do. It looks like Truth has finally come to his senses. It's wonderful seeing this family because that's what they all are: family. I see life is good and tell us not. The surprises just keep coming.
I’m speechless. Do Ashley not know what she has done there’s nothing like a mother’s revenge or anger when you have touched her baby. It’s not about a man you have touched this woman’s baby.
This story has left me with my jaw dropping to the floor, this story is So good. The characters are really strong and stand in their Truth! Sevynth has really found her voice in this book, she’s grown a lot! I love that for her. Truth is still dealing with the the loss of his sister serenity. Can’t wait to read the finale. Excellent Job Brianna.
Okay so Sevyn and Truth were working things out, it was so lovely then boom and another plot twist. I hate a nutty, deranged ass ex😭 on to the next book bc this crazy girl gotta go!
