At Centralis Academy, Wulf faces his great test yet.
Wulf survived his first year, repelled the first wave of demons, and earned a promotion to the Academy’s main branch—and so far, no one knows he’s an alchemist. For the first time, things are looking up.
That illusion shatters in Centralis, the largest city in the world and humanity’s strongest bastion. Its Academy offers unmatched resources—and ruthless politics. To survive, Wulf must outmaneuver scheming nobles, forge powerful alliances, and use the memories of his past life to rise faster than any Ascendant before him.
But a traitor lurks in their midst, and there’s a plot to unleash a new danger from the dungeon beneath the Academy.
If Wulf fails to expose the plot in time, Centralis will fall—and this second chance at saving the world will end before it truly begins.

What a great follow-up to the first book! I love Wulf and his team!
It was a pleasure reading the first book on RR, so now I'm back to enjoy the next book in the series! And in the mean time Felix Taylor released Split Champion on Amazon and I've been reading both simultaneously. Wow! So much fun twice the book's, one brilliant author!!! Our Oronith team has moved to Centralis Academy, a honor given for their hard work. And surprisingly the Oronith they kinda sorta stole The Silent Wraith moved with them as well! But unfortunately Lord Umoch, still has his eyes on Wulf for disgracing his son and heir. But the team quickly gets their feet under 'em as they quickly try to fit in... train and even work at making friends and gaining an ally with the son of the King! But watch out the demons are still active and they're aware of Wulf's activities, and they've got plans to end him! And Wulf with the help from his team need to wake the Silent Wraith! But can they wake him up in time? And that's the bigger question!!! Again I read this originally on Royal Road, and hopefully it'll be posted on Amazon. When it is I'll be able to post my 5⭐ review! So grab the book when it's out, or read it on the RR. You’ll love it guaranteed!
This book feels a bit like improv. Sometimes the main characters succeed and sometimes they fail, but they always manage to roll it forward into another interesting adventure that ultimately moves towards their goals. It's a clever and fun way to have low stakes and unpredictable stories and I like it a lot.
The story itself seems a bit overly complex at first, but it comes together smoothly and is more fun that way (in my opinion).
This is good when it's good, but also spends a bit too long wibbling about vinegar and grass cuttings. There's not really any way to make it interesting and they don't. Also the way they wrapped things up with Lord Evil seemed a bit unlikely. Couldn't he have just done that to start off with, if that was going to work? Anyway. Not a perfect book but pretty good.
It's the end of the world and we are fighting for our lives, nevermind all that, let's play politics. And then it's done in a standard cliche manner with no surprises. If you are going to just use standard tropes at least try to be a bit creative
