On the southern tip of the continental US, an abandoned yacht is found drifting in the waters off Key West, Florida. There’s no sign of its owner, an American businessman. But bullet-holes and specks of blood are found on the yacht’s deck, before his phone is found to be pinging from Bogota, Colombia’s capital city.

Eight months after her sister’s kidnap in Kabul and subsequent rescue, Sloane Adanti is back working for the CIA. It turns out the missing businessman is a valuable intelligence source for the Agency in Colombia, feeding them information on cocaine trafficking and cartel activity. After her success the previous summer tracking down her sister, someone senior in the CIA has decided Sloane needs to locate the man and find out what happened to him.

She’s getting on a plane and heading south, following orders, relieved that this time her sister’s life isn’t on the line.

But how quickly things can change.
