He swore an oath to hate me... but then we fell in love.
For generations, the Capuletis and Montgomerys have been at war, and Rome has never let me forget it. Not until an anonymous pen pal assignment during our senior year has us breaking every damn rule set in place.
But my illicit affair with the tattooed billionaire I’ve hated my entire life ends as quickly as it began, and Rome and I return to being enemies once more.
Now, years later, I’ve done my best to avoid him, except for those unavoidable social gatherings, where we continue to taunt each other with relentless jabs and unnecessary pranks. But when one of my ‘jokes’ goes a step too far and nearly destroys Rome’s reputation, he demands payment from me in a way I never expect. When the time comes for him to collect, he’s dragging me right back to where it all started between us—within the same four walls.
Unfortunately for me, these walls are haunted, and I can’t look at or exist around him without slipping back into our old ways.
For reasons I can’t understand, he makes me feel it all: passion, love… hate.
Just like our families before us, Rome and I were born to despise one another.
But is my hate true… or is it all a lie I tell myself to keep from falling back in love with the enemy?

Brittany is a bestselling author known for writing angst filled romance that will have your heart both melting and racing. She currently resides in Maine with the love of her life (her husband), and her two wonderful sons.
Those letters and emails set a very nice and beautiful foundation for this book. Honestly, if the entire book had just been the writing and replying of letters between R & J, I would have still devoured it.
Rome and Jules' bond is just amazing. From the moment they became pen pals and without knowing who the other was, their gender or even their family background i already knew they were meant to be.
Though that did take a turn when the reveal of their identities overshadowed their forbidden undying love for each other.
They fell so hard and fast and it broke my heart because they couldn't express their love publicly especially at a young age.
They separated from each other only for fate to force them back together again.
Such a beautiful read. They both went through so much, and they deserved that happy ending. Their love is felt tragic but still so beautiful.
If you love enemies to lovers with forbidden love touch this book is for you!
𝕱𝖆𝖛 𝕼𝖚𝖔𝖙𝖊𝖘: ✨️“I love you, Lark.” ✨️“Lark, it’s your silence. Your silence is my ruin.” ✨️He couldn’t tell me he hated me, but he’s clearly happy that I still sing for him and only him. ✨️“It ends with me, Mamma. This hatred ends with me.” ✨️Loving Julianna is a risk, but it’s a risk I’m willing to take because I’ve never felt this connected to someone. Someone who sees me for me instead of the name attached to me. ✨️I may hate Rome, but it’s hard to deny how gorgeous he is.
"It isn't just your body that tortures me, Lark, it's your silence. Your silence is my ruin."
"You're the love of my life...the loss of my life...and everything in between." "You were worth every second."
For generations, the Capuletis and Montgomerys have hated one another, until an anonymous pen pal assignment during our senior year leads Rome and Julianna to break every rule. And so began an illicit affair that ended before it truly began. Ten years will pass before these former lovers will reunite, and this time, all bets are off.
From Rome, With Hate is the perfect enemies-to-lovers, star-crossed lovers romance filled with swoon, angst, and a whole lot of angst.
Now, I don't know about you guys, but I've been waiting to get my hands on Julianna's story, and let me tell you, it does not disappoint. I mean, it delivers. Not only do the characters have intense chemistry, but their shared history and pain add a deeper layer to the story. Julianna and Rome's story is heartbreaking, beautiful, and, honestly, the perfect note to finish this series on.
From Rome, With Hate captivated me from the very first page and was everything I could have possibly asked for. And the way it ties up this series, but teases what's coming next...Chef's kiss 💋
If you're a fan of billionaire romances with star-crossed, enemies-to-lovers, miscommunication, and a second chance romance worth fighting for, you'll want to add this book to your tbr, asap.
*I was provided an ARC copy of this book, in exchange for an honest review*
Going into From Rome, With Hate I already knew that I love Brittany Taylor’s books so much and yes, this is only my second but dang it, they were so freaking good!!!! This one had me completely hooked from the first page with that intense enemies to lovers tension that just burns. I swear, don’t judge me… I’m sure Julianna and Rome were doing that enough for how much I was talking to my Kindle like I was part of the book. The generational feud, the secret pen pal twist, and that “we absolutely should not be doing this” energy had me spiraling in the best way. I loved how their relationship felt equal parts passion and chaos, like they were always one second away from either kissing or starting a war. And honestly, I ate up every single second of it. What really got me was how the story balances all that fiery hate with something deeper and way more vulnerable underneath. Watching Julianna and Rome circle each other again years later, still holding onto all that history, had me completely invested in whether they’d crash or finally give in. The tension in those forced close proximity moments? Unreal. I felt every look, every jab, every slip back into something that clearly never went away. And the way Rome makes her feel everything love, hate, confusion it just hits so hard because you know it’s real even when they’re fighting it. By the end, I was emotional, satisfied, and honestly not ready to let them go. If you love messy, passionate, forbidden romance with big feelings and even bigger stakes, this one will absolutely consume you like it did me.
Oh Brittany, this series was a chef's kiss. From the first book, (From Asher, with Love) you had me captivated with these characters. Rome and Julianna had me interested from the start and you didn't disappoint with their story. Now, granted your books are not for the faint at heart, they have heartbreak, they have a story to tell, and you give us the most wonderful HEA.
Rome- is a dark and mysterious with a serious stick up his ass at times but that man knows his reasons why for being the way he is. He will do anything in his power to protect what he loves and in this case its Juliana. Secretly these two have had feelings for each other but it goes beyond that.
Juliana- is beautiful and adores her family. She has a princess feel to her but there is one person she hates and that is Rome. But could hate really to be what is deep inside her? There is a fine line between love and hate they say. Juliana comes with so much heartbreak as well as Rome, and they aren't much different from each other, and this hate their families have fought for years.
Overall, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this book. Rome and Julianna's story was sad and yet poetic in a way. I loved the little Romeo and Juliet aspects of it and how its mentioned in the book as well. Standing Ovation Brittany Taylor.
I devoured this ARC read! The Romeo and Juliet vibes sprinkled throughout made this story. The plot flowed and the only thing I wanted more of was Marcus to get a story 😂. Julianna was a contradiction of soft and hard. She was so guarded and at the same time so hopeful Rome would be different. Their banter was top tier. Rome was everything you’d want in a morally grey character. His choice to be better and do better for Julianna hit all the swoon spots. He was feral for her. This book hit ALL my favorite tropes; second chance, forced proximity, he would 💀 for her, and he worships her. Brittany had me guessing on some things and I was wrong. I love when I’m wrong and the author surprises me with the story. I would definitely recommend this book.
Fave Line: “I’ve always been yours, Rome. Through Hate and Love, I’ve always been yours.”
You know those series you read where each couple gets better and better and each book becomes your new favorite?! Rome and Julianna have absolutely blown me away. From start to finish there was not a dull moment (though there arent in any of these books). Julianna and Rome have been playing games with eachother for 10 years. Both of them hiding one hell of a secret. But when someone comes after Rome, he has to hide his Lark, to keep her safe. What better place to do that than his cabin. The cabin she remembers, fondly and bitterly! God I loved these 2 so so much! They go through every damn emotion between love and loath and hate. But there is always that fine line. This book is darker than Brittany has gone, but not a daaarrrrk romance, more like Diet Dark. It is perfect! 5⭐️ 3🌶
5/5 ⭐ For a long time now, we’ve been reading about the feud between Rome and Julianna so I’ve been waiting to see where it stems from and when I found out, I could not stop gasping! There are some many twists and turns in this book I did not see coming, and it would not let me put this book down! I was completely hooked right until the end and absolutely loved the last few chapters in the book. Whilst it was bittersweet to finally end the series, I was so content with the ending and thoroughly enjoyed it. I went in not a huge fan of Rome and thinking Julianna was a bit immature, and left being the biggest fan of these MCs! Would definitely recommend this book and this whole series is definitely one of my top favourites!
