Fur Real Love

A Bite of Trouble

Rate this book
I only came to this tiny mountain town to help my sister open her café. It was supposed to be a quick job—get her kitchen up and running, bake a few weeks of pastries, and head back to my very normal, very human life.

Then Luca walked in.

Six foot something of muscle and smolder, all wrapped in flannel and smelling like cedar and trouble. He ordered a cinnamon twist, bit into it like he wanted to ruin me, and suddenly I was imagining a lot more than baked goods in his mouth.

He kept coming back. Hanging around the counter. Watching me like he could eat me whole—slowly. There’s something wild in his eyes, something that makes me forget every sensible reason I should keep my distance.

And when I find out why he’s so intense—why his gaze follows me like I’m the only thing in the room—it doesn’t scare me. It makes me want him even more.

The problem? Wolves are possessive. And Luca… Luca’s not here for just a taste.

3.5 starts. Cute, low angst short story. Annoyed that of the 3 or so BJ scenes it had the almost the exact same if not the same dialouge. Also, at the very end suddenly his sister is his sister in law!

This was an absolute amazing MM shifter romance. Luca an Evans story was the absolute sweetest. Evan moved to a small mountain town called Pineridge for one month to help his sister sienna open her new pastries shop called Wild Flour. He was there to help with new artisanal pastry recipes for her shop. Everything was going good until opening day a tall, delicious mountain man named Luca walked through the door. He owned a woodshop in town where he did everything by hand. This started an amazing romance where things took off fast. They went on dates and they grew attached. then Luca told Evan about him being a werewolf where he was surprised but didn't seem to mind it at all. Now Evan's sister already new cause she was extra perceptive. Evan month soon come up, and he decided to stay a little longer to see if the relationship would work, then in no time he chose to stay permanently and move in with Luca and start a permanent life. Then come to find out there more supernatural creatures in town to. Once, Evan decided to stay Luca got him a shop where it was a no string, no rush decision. This was just the best book.

Quotes I loved:
"I had never- and I mean never- seen someone turn eating a pastry into what could only be described as a form of Corn." - Evan watching Luca eat a pastry.

"I love you. More than I have words to express." - Luca
"I love you too! Wolf and all." - Evan

"The ring is a question, not a demand. The building is an option, not an obligation. Whatever you decide, whenever you decide it, I'll be here. But i needed you to know, you're it for me. My mate, in every sense that matters." - Luca

Cute, but…

The storyline is sweet.

This is the fifth book of an eight book grouping. Each book is stand alone and although touches on the lore of werewolves, each one seems to handle it a bit differently.

As I read each book, it started to get a bit repetitive. It seemed that something that was told or revealed at another part of the story was never told, thus being revealed again with the same reaction.

To me, it became cookie cutter, and tended to get slightly awkward. I found myself rushing through certain sections.

Even so, I did find the idea of the “happy ever after” sweet, and enjoyed some of the characters. I do think I am stopping at book five, though.

Please keep in mind, this is my opinion. I want you to form one for yourself!

Later!

cute

This book was cute. Definitely gave cozy vibes, love and family as well. And even though there wasn’t any danger or threat to the main characters it was still cute to see them bond and accept each other as a whole.

To see Luca find his mate in Evan and to see Evan accept Luca for what he was. A wolf. Would definitely love to read more on them but for now I’ll settle on the other books 😁

You know, just when I thought this author had settled on what type of werewolf lore to use for the books in this series, he switches it up again. I don't have the energy to do as full of a post mortem review of this book as I did for most of the other books in this series, so all I'll say here is that I didn't like it as much as the previous books in the series.

ANOTHER ABSOLUTELY BANGER OF A MM SHIFTER ROMANCE!

The only word I can use to describe this one is: Wholesome.
This was SO adorable! From Luca and Evan's first interaction to the very steamy ending, this book has it all!

The plot, adorable.
The spice, 10/10!
This one just became my favorite in the series and I'm SO excited to read more!
10/10 for ⭐ and 🌶️

This was an okay shifter romance story with just enough spice to keep things entertaining. However, the writing felt kind of wooden and mechanical and the sex scenes felt a bit copy-and-paste after the initial scenes. So, it was decent enough, but nothing too memorable or to get excited about. I could take or leave this one.

really liked it

I really liked this book. 4 stars for rating, 2.5 for spice. This book was really cute and sweet. No angst, just wonder and acceptance. Some of the phrases were a bit repetitive, but I still enjoyed it overall.

It was good

I don’t know what I write. It was a good story. Still first book is my favorite. I dont like every book has different kind of werewolf and customs.

Joyous!

A very slow paced love story that builds a clear picture of the characters as the evolve into a devoted couple. Very romantic.

Cute and short but also flat and boring. Everything was a little too perfect and there was no terror or urgency finding out his bf or whole town were occult. There wasn't much to the story and characters didn't have much depth other than "I'm a gay baker" and "I'm a lumberjack werewolf."

Ummm…not fully sure what I read?? All a little forced and awkward. A lot of the scenes felt very repetitive.
