They say all is fair in love and war. Clearly, they haven’t met Warner Landers.
The ruthless billionaire had me begging him to spare my family’s restaurant from a buyout. In response, he shamelessly flirted and walked away wearing a smug smirk.
Karma strikes, literally, when he crosses the street.
Unconscious, he’s rushed to the hospital, and for some unknown reason, I’m swept in right after him as if I know this man—or worse, that I’m married to him.
Am I in too much shock to deny the allegation? Yes. Am I still using his short-term amnesia to my advantage? Absolutely.
Playing the doting wife to a grumpy CEO won’t be easy, but I’m determined to save my family’s livelihood. I just didn’t expect him to be a changed man after the accident. Far graver (for me), the iciness between us begins to thaw, and our fake marriage starts to feel real, making it easy to forget my mission.
When his memory begins to return, so does the truth. We’re at war, and falling for the enemy wasn’t part of the plan.

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author, S.L. Scott, writes character driven, heart-racing suspense, and swoony romances that will leave you glued to the page. With stories ranging from witty beach reads to heart wrenching and heart healing, her stories are highly regarded as emotional, relatable, and captivating.
Her books are more than escapes for the voracious readers of today. They are journeys of the heart that always come with a happily ever after reward at the end.
The writing is good. The storyline is entertaining. The main characters are okayish. The situation between them was light and funny. The perfect reading for christmas holidays, I must say. Sadly, in many scenes, I got bored. Maybe because I was having bad times in my work and maybe that made me to not enjoy the book as I wished I could do it.
This is a charming, feel good romance that leans comfortably into its tropes and makes for a very easy audiobook to settle into. It is the kind of story that flows smoothly and is simple to enjoy.
I am a huge fan of the enemies to lovers trope, and the fake marriage element was woven in really well here. Warner begins firmly in grumpy billionaire territory, but the amnesia element introduces a softer, more tender shift. Watching him change and seeing their relationship develop through quieter, more intimate moments was lovely. The slow burn felt intentional and steady, allowing the connection to grow naturally and not feel like instalove.
Callie Dalton and Aiden Snow’s narration really elevated the listening experience. Both bring warmth and personality to their performances, making the characters feel real and emotionally accessible. This story works especially well in audio format. The pacing is on point, it never feels overwhelming, and it is a great choice when you are in the mood for something satisfying without heavy angst.
If you enjoy classic romantic comedy vibes, this one fits right in. It carries the same heart and comfort found in stories like Pretty Woman or While You Were Sleeping, where circumstance brings two people together and feelings quietly sneak up on them. I know I just aged myself, but even without those references, the overall tone is soft, romantic, and comforting.
Love and Warner is a fun, spicy, trope driven romance that is easy to recommend for readers looking for a low stress, feel good listen.
Make sure to add this one to your TBR and snag it on December 29th when it becomes available.

✦ 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐬 - • fake marriage • grumpy billionaire ceo • enemies to lovers • forced proximity • redemption arc • emotional healing • slow burn romance • age gap
✦ 𝐌𝐲 𝐓𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐬 - Love and Warner is about a powerful, emotionally closed-off billionaire CEO and a woman who enters his life at the worst possible moment and ends up changing everything. One accident, one misunderstanding, and one fake marriage turn into something deeply emotional and unexpectedly real. This story is not just about romance, it is about growth, guilt, healing, and learning how to love when you have spent your whole life building walls. This book completely swept me away. Warner is hands down one of the best grumpy billionaire heroes I have read. He starts off cold, arrogant, and emotionally unavailable, but the way his layers slowly peel off is written so beautifully. His pain, his loneliness, and his inner conflict felt so real that I could feel it in my chest. Delaney is such a refreshing female lead. She is soft but not weak, emotional but not annoying, and strong without being loud. Her guilt, her love, and her fear were written in such a natural way that I connected with her instantly. Together, Warner and Delaney have insane chemistry. Every interaction, every quiet moment, and every emotional scene felt meaningful. The fake marriage trope was executed perfectly. It did not feel forced or unrealistic. The slow burn was delicious, and the emotional payoff was absolutely worth it. The redemption arc of Warner was my favorite part. He does not change overnight. He learns, he falls, he reflects, and he grows. That made his character development so powerful and satisfying. Thank you so much hambrightpr for the free ARC!
Really enjoyed listening to this! It was two of my favorite narrators on top of it (Aiden Snow and Callie Dalton). The story reminded me a lot of the movie “While you were sleeping” which is one of my favorite movies so i’m not mad about that. The ending was a bit cheesy but overall I loved the premise of it and the author did a great job navigating a storyline about amnesia which i’ve noticed a lot of authors always have plot holes regarding.

📝 Notes: Dual POV: Warner and Delaney Enemies to lovers Grumpy Billionaire CEO Amnesia Fake Marriage Age Gap (24 and 34) Opposites attract
I was given the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book, which I am grateful to be a part of. So here’s my honest review.
I overall enjoyed this book, and my interest in finishing the story was definitely kept. There was a lot of potential here, which made some of the choices later on feel even more frustrating.
It wasn’t a bad start, but then came the gaslighting, and from there the story quickly turned into a game of emotional chicken. So much happened within just a few days that it felt overwhelming and messy rather than tense in a good way.
The communication between the MCs was honestly terrible. She constantly evades the truth, talks in circles, and avoids having a real conversation. He’s confused, angry, and desperate for answers, yet every time he tries to talk, she shuts him out. She’s upset that they can’t live in denial anymore and that their “love” apparently isn’t enough—but instead of explaining herself, she just keeps running. Why not communicate?
The idea that he needs to prove he deserves a second chance didn’t sit right with me. Their relationship was built on lies and gaslighting, yet she rarely takes responsibility for her role in any of it. There’s a lot of blame being thrown around without much self-reflection.
Some of the logic also felt off. Why would a billionaire take the New York train? And why would an elementary school teacher wear a necklace with 30–50 diamonds to work? A few details stood out as unrealistic to me, but it’s no biggie.
At one point she says, “I was thrown out, for the record,” but… she was already packing and planning to leave, refusing to explain anything. Another line—“I was packing because I knew I would never survive hearing you tell me to get out”—felt like a clear case of self-sabotage. Of all the moments to walk away, she chooses the one where the truth finally comes out.
And when she tells him, “You had every opportunity to do the right thing, and you blew it,” I couldn’t help but roll my eyes. He had no idea what was really going on and was left to piece everything together on his own—he’s not a mind reader.
Despite the frustrating dynamics and a few cringey moments, I still found the book enjoyable overall. I just wish it had leaned more into its potential with stronger communication, accountability, and follow-through.
Age gap enemies to more for the story of Delaney and Warner. Warner is a wealthy CEO who's all work and no play, to him, business is business and there are no emotions to be had there. Delaney and her little family's restaurant is just another pawn in Warner's world, but she tries to meet the brooding CEO to appeal to his emotional side to save their restaurant. A random turn of events has Delaney literally living in a world of lies that she can't seem to get herself out of and her hole just gets deeper and deeper. I was expecting a little more angst when it all imploded because boy, that was one epic lie and although no one came out unscathed and pretty raw - there was a HEA to be had.
I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own
I had expectations of the story before starting and wow, this blew any expectations out of the water!! I was not expecting the level of humor in the story, especially as they both were pushing each other in a game of chicken about their situation. I loved the development of the characters 💕
This was my first book by SL Scott and definitely won’t be my last
Callie Dalton and Aiden Snow narrate this book with skill, great expression, and fluency. They both bring out the characters and enhance the story with their confident narration. I enjoyed the banter, the grumpy/grumpy contrast, the slow burn build up as they get to know each other. I did find the central concept of partial amnesia a bit too drawn out and unbelievable though fun. There are too many ways that Delaney gives herself away and Earner has the means to really find out what is going on. That said, this has been fun and I enjoyed the shenanigans 💖💖💖💖
Delaney Bayetti will do anything to save her family’s restaurant. That includes making Warner Landers believe he is married to her. His company was going to acquire their property until he gets into an accident that leaves him with a little amnesia. Now, all Delaney wants to do is get Warner to agree to let her keep her restaurant before he regains his memory however, sometimes caring for your enemy can make emotions change. Wow, this hits it out of the park from the very beginning making you root for Delaney and Warner. What a great enemies to “who are you” to lovers romance. Their banter together is perfect and I loved the build of what was happening. Told in first person and Dual POV.
It all started with short term amnesia and a fake marriage. I absolutely loved Love and Warner by S.L. Scott; it is an incredible opposites attract/enemies to lovers/fake marriage love story. S.L. Scott is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors to read and has once again shown that she is an amazing storyteller. I love that she continues to write the books that I love to read and is a must-read author for me. I was hooked on the first few pages, it was impossible to put Love and Warner down, it filled me with a rollercoaster of emotions, and I loved every moment on every page. Who does not love hot sexy men, strong females, loving families, and friends, who always support one another? Love and Warner is the story of Delaney Bayetti, hostess for her family’s restaurant, Bayetti’s Italian Eatery and elementary school teacher and Warner Landers, billionaire, venture capitalist, and CEO of Landers Ventures. Delaney have been trying to talk to Warner regarding the future of her family’s restaurant and home. She finally shows up at Warner’s office and he is still not willing to discuss his plans for the building that houses the restaurant their apartment. Once outside Warner is distracted while arguing with Delaney and gets hit by a car. No one rushes to Warner’s aid. Delaney rides along in the ambulance taking Warner to the hospital and tells the EMT her last name is Landers. The accident leaves Warner with short-term amnesia, so Delaney convinces him that they were married and had separated the day of the accident. While being fake married Warner and Delaney spend time together and things quickly heat up between the two of them. I love the chemistry and the conversation between Warner and Delaney which flows so easily, with innuendos and banter, with dirty talking Warner constantly flirting with Delaney. I love the nicknames that they have for each other. Warner realizes that there are fabrications surrounding their marriage. Warner meets Delaney’s family for dinner at the restaurant. Plot twists and turns put Delaney and Warner’s relationship in jeopardy. I loved the heart-to-heart conversation between Delaney and Warner, especially when they admit their feelings for one another. I love all the small things that Warner does for Delaney even though he knows that she is not telling him the truth. I love all the changes that Delaney and Warner are willing to make in their lives to have a life with each other, especially how Warner finally disregards his late father’s mantra. I love the ending of their love story, it was the perfect ending, especially Warner’ proposal to Delaney and the location of his proposal showing that he always listened to Delaney. One of my favorite parts of the story is the epilogue told from Warner’s perspective. It is the perfect ending of their love story. I loved it. I love all the surprise revealed. I love the descriptions of New York. I really enjoy how the book is told from the first-person perspective of the main characters. I love getting the insight and feelings from the different characters. Love and Warner is an opposites attract/enemies to lovers love story and is filled with heartbreaking and heartwarming moments. It is filled with all those things that we have come to love and expect in a love story, S.L. Scott did not disappoint, especially with the poignant and bittersweet moments and the plot twists and surprises that filled this page turner. I love how S.L. Scott always manages to create the "perfect" heroine, who is a strong, sassy woman on her own, to balance out the sexy, swoon worthy man. I love the characters and the family dynamic in Love and Warner, the characters feel like family and friends. I enjoyed all the interactions between the Bayetti parent and siblings, and Warner’s interactions with them, it feels like real family love and makes me laugh at their teasing. I loved all the characters in Love and Warner. Who does not love family and friends that always have each other’s backs? I thoroughly enjoyed Love and Warner. Highly recommend this incredible love story. Received an advanced copy from the author.
Love and Warner By: S.L. Scott Narrated by: Callie Dalton, Aiden Snow
S.L. Scott pens another fantastic romance novel, putting her own unique spin on several of my favorite tropes, including fake marriage, grumpy/sunshine, and enemies-to-lovers tropes, mastering them all. “Love and WarNER” is a slow on-the-burn, steamy romance that captivates your attention and tugs at your heartstrings the entire time. Warner Landers, a ruthless venture capitalist and CEO of his company, is all about business and the bottom line. Delaney Bayetti is all about her family and wants to save the family’s restaurant, which they are about to lose because of Lander’s property acquisition and the impending tenant evictions. She attempts to meet with Warner Landers, who doesn’t have time for her, but she catches him leaving his office, giving her two minutes, except he does not take her seriously, flirting with her instead, which was infuriating. Then, a driverless vehicle strikes Warner, knocking him unconscious, and Delaney does the right thing and accompanies him to the hospital. At the hospital, Delaney uses his last name and the assumption she was his wife, and when Warner wakes up with amnesia, she runs with it. Warner’s amnesia should be temporary, and he may not remember his marriage or wife, he has his doubts, and Delaney knows things, and eventually grows on him, but not before getting under his skin. These two were opposites: an orderly/neat freak vs. messy/chaos, loving/caring vs. heartless/ruthless, but she balanced him, and they worked, well almost worked. This multi-layered and wonderfully plotted story has the perfect balance of drama, angst, great humor, witty dialogue and banter, charming and heartwarming moments, heartfelt emotions and a slow burn but so-worth-the-wait romance. The writing, world-building, character development and growth are fantastic, too. S.L. Scott, thank you for another fabulous story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
🎧📚🎧 Callie Dalton and Aiden Snow, a perfect pairing and cast to bring these characters to life, gave each a voice that was fitting and believable. Dalton was a natural in Delaney’s role, grasping every aspect of her personality, as well as her every emotion. Snow did the same for Warner and was just as amazing in the role. Both were fantastic at performing the roles of the side/secondary characters too. Setting the ideal tone for the story, they handled the witty dialogue and banter effortlessly. These entertaining storytellers are a pleasure to listen to, and their captivating performance rivets you to the story.
Narrated by the talented duo of Aiden Snow and Callie Dalton, S.L. Scott's Love and Warner is a charming, witty, and highly addictive romance that will keep you hooked from the very first chapter. They say all is fair in love and war, but clearly, Delaney Bayetti never expected to go to war with ruthless billionaire Warner Landers, who had initially met her pleas to save her family's restaurant with a shameless flirt and a smug smirk.
Karma strikes literally when Warner is hit by a car, leaving him unconscious and suffering from short-term amnesia. Swept into the hospital and mistaken for his wife, Delaney makes a snap, shocking decision: she uses his amnesia to her advantage, playing the role of his doting spouse to secure the future of her family's livelihood before his memory returns. This setup is brilliant, fueling a spectacular enemies-to-lovers, fake-relationship premise with genuine laugh-out-loud moments and perfect banter.
What begins as a calculated heist quickly becomes something more complex. Delaney is determined to save the restaurant, but the accident leaves Warner a changed man. As she cares for the grumpy CEO, the iciness between them begins to thaw, and their fake marriage starts to feel undeniably real, making it easy to forget her initial mission. Though they couldn't be more different, Delaney and Warner’s chemistry is magnetic and undeniable; they simply work together in the most compelling way. Their slow-burn relationship develops beautifully over time as the heat and the lies pile up.
Beautifully narrated by Aisen Snow and Callie Dalton, who bring emotions, realness and so much more elevating this book to next level goodness.
Told in dual first-person POV, the book masterfully builds the suspense, constantly asking whether the lies will ruin them before they even get started. Falling for the enemy was definitely not part of Delaney’s plan, but when Warner's memory begins to return, so does the truth, setting the stage for a compelling climax. Love and Warner hits it out of the park, keeping you invested in these characters until the very last page. Fans of mistaken identity and charming rivals-to-lovers stories will find this heart-stealing romance a highly recommended read.
Disclaimer: I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Love And Warner was my first S.L. Scott read and honestly, it surprised me in the best way.
Warner Landers is the kind of MMC you love to hate: a ruthless, billionaire shark who lives life at full throttle and doesn’t blink at crushing small businesses in the process. Enter Delaney: teacher, fiercely loyal daughter, and the only thing standing between her family’s restaurant and Warner’s buyout. Their first interaction is icy, tense, and dripping with animosity… until karma intervenes in the form of a literal car accident.
Cue amnesia. Cue chaos. Cue a very questionable “wife” declaration.
Watching Delaney lean into a fake marriage while Warner’s memory is on pause sets the stage for a delicious enemies-to-lovers slow burn. Playing house with a grumpy CEO who has no idea he was once the villain? Absolutely irresistible. And while the dynamic initially felt a little off (some of Delaney’s questions made me pause, considering they’re supposed to be married), the story finds its footing as their relationship deepens.
What really worked for me was the transformation. Amnesiac Warner is… softer. Kinder. Conflicted in ways that make you wonder who he really is beneath the billionaire armor. The forced proximity, the thawing tension, and the blurred lines between fake and real feelings kept pulling me in more and more as the story unfolded.
By the time the emotional stakes ramp up and the truth looms, I was fully invested. The romance builds nicely, the chemistry simmers, and the payoff feels earned, even if it took me a bit to get there.
✨ Tropes You’ll Love 🔥 Enemies to Lovers 💘 Fake Dating 🌤️ Grumpy x Sunshine ⏳ Age Gap ❤️🔥 Slow Burn 🏠 Forced Proximity
All in all, Love And Warner is a solid read, perfect if you’re in the mood for tension, banter, and a billionaire brought to his knees, emotionally and otherwise.
A huge thank you to Hambright PR for the e-ARC, and congratulations to S.L. Scott on her upcoming release on December 29th. I’ll definitely be checking out more from this author. 💫
𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗚: ★★★★ 𝗥𝗘𝗟𝗘𝗔𝗦𝗘 𝗗𝗔𝗧𝗘: December 29 2025 𝗔𝗥𝗖 𝗥𝗘𝗩𝗜𝗘𝗪:
I enjoyed this book, even if it didn’t fully steal my heart. It’s one of those stories that pulls you in with tension and emotion, keeps you turning pages, and leaves you feeling satisfied, For me, this was a solid four star read, good, engaging, and memorable in parts
What stood out the most was the emotional push and pull between the characters. The relationship at the center of this story is built on lies, and that fact never feels light or easy. There’s always a sense of risk hanging in the air, like something fragile could break at any moment. I liked how that tension stayed present throughout the book. It made the romance feel messy and complicated, which felt fitting for these characters.
Warner, in particular, is a character I had mixed feelings about, and I think that was intentional. He isn’t written to be instantly lovable, and that worked for me. Watching him soften little by little was interesting, Delaney, on the other hand, carried a lot of the emotional weight of the story. Her choices, even the wrong ones, felt rooted in fear, hope, and survival. I didn’t always agree with her, but I understood her, and that made her easy to care about.
The romance itself had moments that really worked. There were scenes that felt warm, tender, and full of quiet longing. At the same time, the lie between them kept creating distance for me as a reader. While that added drama, it also made it harder for me to fully relax into the love story. I was always waiting for the fallout, and that feeling sometimes pulled me out of the softer moments.
The writing style was simple and easy to follow, which I appreciated. The emotions were clear without being overwhelming, and the story flowed well. I never felt bored while reading, It’s the kind of book you enjoy while reading, then reflect on with a calm smile rather than a racing heart.
Thank you to S.L. Scott for the ARC!
𝗧𝗥𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗦: Billionaire romance, enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, age gap, fake marriage, forced proximity
Delaney is desparate to save her family’s home and business from takeover by a major corporation. As a last ditch effort, she shows up at the headquarters, hoping to speak with the CEO, only to be turned away. When she finds out that the man she is trying to meet with is the man she is sharing an elevator with, he gives her two minutes to speak her piece. As he is walking away, she calls to him and he turns back to look at her, only to be hit by a car. Panicking, she accompanies him to the hospital, wanting to ensure he is ok, where she is mistakenly referred to as his wife. When he wakes up with no memory of the few hours before his accident, she wonders whether this might be her opportunity to save her family after all.
Warner is a billionaire CEO, ruthless in the business world, and so busy he rarely has time for a personal life. So when he wakes up in the hospital with a broken arm, concussion, and a wife, he wonders how he possibly could have found himself in this situation. As Delaney begins to make herself at home in his penthouse, Warner can’t help but think there’s something she’s not telling him, but somehow, she still seems to be getting past his defences. But can they really build something real based on a foundation of lies?
I received an early copy of this book from Hambright PR and really enjoyed it. At first I wasn’t sure what to think of it, gave off serious “while you were sleeping” vibes but then when she started lying to him too, I didn’t know how it was going to play out. But somehow it worked. Delaney’s chaos was exactly what was necessary to break down Warner’s rigidity, showing him a piece of humanity that he didn’t even know he needed. He showed her a world she never imagined she could be a part of, giving her the benefit of the doubt even though he knew she was lying, he just didn’t know about what. I also appreciated that when the truth did come out, it wasn’t just glossed over, and both characters had to feel that pain before they could move on.
Love and Warner: A Grumpy, Enemies-to-Lovers, Fake Dating Romance by S.L. Scott explores an unlikely romance between Warner Landers, CEO and owner of Landers Ventures, who is trying to buy a piece of land that includes Delaney Bayetti’s family restaurant and other local businesses. The deal promises more money for him, regardless of the lives disrupted by the buyout. The Bayetti family was given an ultimatum to pay a hefty sum to prevent the sale of their restaurant. In a panic, Delaney visits Landers Ventures’ office and tries to see Warner Landers, but is refused a meeting. Unexpectedly, as she leaves the building, she finds herself on the same elevator as Warner and asks for two minutes of his time. He is dismissive and self-absorbed, focused only on the financial bottom line, without regard for how his buyouts affect others. After Warner dismisses Delaney, she calls his name as he crosses the street, and he is hit by a car. Feeling guilty for calling out to him, she accompanies him to the hospital, where she is mistaken for his wife. It turns out Warner Landers is single and has never been married. Desperate to save her family’s restaurant, she comes up with a plan to pretend to be Warner’s wife—since the hospital already thinks she is—hoping she can change his mind about destroying her family’s livelihood. Since Warner has amnesia and no memory of his past life, Delaney’s plan is set into motion. As they weave lies into a tangled web, small sparks of genuine feelings begin to emerge, and passions are expressed. When Warner’s memories start to return, the lies are uncovered as everything unravels, revealing the true nature of their relationship. With these revelations, Warner must confront his new feelings for Delaney and consider how this will affect their future—if they can truly have one? S.L. Scott's "Love and Warner: A Grumpy, Enemies-to-Lovers, Fake Dating Romance" takes an unlikely pair—a CEO and the woman whose family's business is threatened by Landers Ventures—and intertwines a romance that readers will enjoy.
I always know I'm going to have a great time reading S.L. Scott's books. This was another amazing book with great characters. Yes Warner starts out to be a broody billionaire but he becomes something better. Delaney is the sweetest character that just wants to take care of her family anyway she can. If I wouldn't have been so busy, I would have devoured this book in a day! I really hated to step away as much as I did.
Delaney works with her family at her family's restaurant. She found out they are going to lose the business thanks to some rich guy buying the building. So she takes it upon herself to see if she can talk him out of it. When she meets Warner she knew he was trouble. He had her begging to help her but karma came back in struck Warner with a car. Now she does the nice thing and helps him. But once they get to the hospital they think she's his wife and she doesn't correct them. Now he's awake!
Warner is a broody billionaire that is about to have his entire world turned upside down. When he's getting ready to leave his office to meet up with his best friend at a bar , he meets Delaney. Now she's chasing after him and when she tries to get the last word he turns around and gets hit by a car. Now he's waking up in a hospital and doesn't remember anything about the accident or what happened right before. The last thing he was expecting was Delaney who he cant't remember telling him she's his wife! Oh boy this starts us on such a fun ride!
Warner and Delaney will have us going through all kinds of emotions through this book. I was smiling, swooning, laughing, getting emotional, getting mad, but then we get this beautiful ending. I had a blast reading this book and getting to know these two. I loved how Delaney helps Warner see life in a new light. I HIGHLY recommend this book and I can't wait for her next one!
Thank you S.L. Scott for allowing me to read this ARC for my honest opinion.
*An advance reader copy was provided to me in exchange for an honest review.*
I’m having a tough time writing this review. By the end of the book, I like who Warner and Delaney became… both separately as individuals and together as a couple, once the truth came out, but it took me a while to get there.
At the beginning, you could see that Delaney wanted to just talk to Warner and get him to see reason as to why he needed to spare her family’s restaurant. But Warner didn’t want anything to do with the situation, as it was being handled by someone who worked for him, and he just wanted to get on with his evening. I guess being a grumpy billionaire has some perks.
But karma had other plans for them. Warner is hit by a car right in front of Delaney. She goes with him to the hospital and doesn’t correct the staff when they call her “Mrs. Landers”. When Warner comes to, he has forgotten all the events of the last 24 hours, which includes “meeting” Delaney, but is warry when the nurses call her his wife. Delaney brings him home to his place (thanks to looking at the address on his license) and gives him a song and dance as to why none of her stuff is there.
"How will we survive our own lies?"
Although the currents of attraction were there all along, Delaney purposely didn’t tell Warner the truth. She ‘borrowed’ his phone to make it seem that he lost it in the accident, all the while communicating with his assistant as Warner. But as the days went on and Warner healed, he knew Delaney wasn’t telling him everything. By then, the two of them were well on their way to a relationship, but what was going to happen when the full truth came out? Was Warner going to be able to trust Delaney? Would they be able to make this work for real? And what would her parents say about her sleeping with their enemy? I guess you’ll just have to read this for yourself to find out…
They say all is fair in love and war.
For fans of While You Were Sleeping and You’ve Got Mail comes the newest heist of a romance where their hearts are bound to get stolen.
I absolutely loved Warner and Delaney’s story! This book had so many genuine laugh-out-loud moments, and the banter between these two was perfect. Even though Warner and Delaney couldn’t be more different, their chemistry is undeniable—they just work together in the best, most addictive way.
The setup was fun, the pacing was great, and I was hooked from the very first chapter. I enjoyed every single page of this story and didn’t want it to end. A charming, witty, heart-stealing romance that I highly recommend!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I liked this one. This is very much a tropey romance and it knows exactly what it’s doing. Fake marriage, enemies to lovers, grumpy billionaire CEO, forced proximity, plus amnesia because why not. If that lineup makes you nod instead of sigh, you’ll probably have a good time. Warner Landers starts out smug, controlling, and generally unpleasant to be around, and honestly, that part worked for me. Delaney Bayetti is trying to save her family’s restaurant and ends up stuck playing wife to a man who doesn’t remember who she actually is. The setup is messy right out of the gate, and the relationship stays messy for a while. My biggest issue was communication. Delaney spends a lot of time dodging the truth and running instead of just explaining what’s actually going on, and there were multiple moments where I wanted to yell “just say it already.” That frustration is the main reason this didn’t go higher than four stars for me. That said, once the story settled, I was into it. Watching Warner soften as his memory starts coming back worked, and I liked seeing the shift from fake marriage chaos into something more real. It wasn’t heavy or exhausting, and it never felt like a chore to keep listening. Audio thoughts: I listened to this as an advanced listening copy narrated by Callie Dalton and Aiden Snow. The narration was easy to listen to, the dual POV was clear, and both narrators added warmth that helped smooth over some of the more frustrating moments. This worked really well as an audiobook. Overall, this was an enjoyable, low-stress listen for me. Not perfect, but definitely entertaining, and I’m glad I picked it up. Thanks to The Author Agency for the advanced listening copy and to S.L. Scott for the opportunity to review.
Love and Warner is a trope-forward romance that executes its premise with confidence, humor, and emotional intention.
The story opens with a clear power imbalance: Warner Landers is a ruthless billionaire willing to bulldoze a family business without a second thought, while the heroine is driven by necessity and desperation. Their initial interaction establishes animosity, sharp chemistry, and opposing values—all of which become essential once the amnesia and fake marriage plot takes over.
Warner’s characterization is particularly interesting. Pre-accident, he’s written to be deliberately abrasive. Post-accident, the contrast isn’t exaggerated but softened, revealing emotional depth and a capacity for care that complicates both the heroine’s plan and the reader’s perception of him. His development feels earned rather than convenient.
The heroine remains the emotional anchor of the story. Her internal conflict—balancing guilt, survival, and growing feelings—is consistently present, which keeps the fake marriage trope from feeling shallow or purely comedic.
The prose is accessible and well-paced, moving smoothly between banter, emotional introspection, and plot progression. While the first half relies heavily on situational humor and tension, the latter half shifts toward emotional reckoning, particularly as Warner’s memory begins to return and the consequences of deception come into focus.
Overall, Love and Warner succeeds because it understands its tropes and uses them intentionally. It’s a romance that’s entertaining on the surface, but grounded by character growth and emotional stakes beneath it.
A strong choice for readers who enjoy enemies-to-lovers, fake marriage, and morally gray billionaires—with heart.
Love and Warner by S.L. Scott will have you hooked from the start! I loved the classic enemies-to-lovers dynamic here. In this tale Delaney Bayetti, the sunshine FMC, is trying to save her family’s restaurant from a buyout by Warner Landers, the grumpy, billionaire, older (hello, age gap!) CEO of Landers Ventures. Delaney accidentally gets swept into the hospital as Warners’ fake wife after he is hit by a car and develops amnesia. The slight dose of amnesia spices up the standard fake dating (fake marriage?) trope making it feel fresh and fun. The grumpy x sunshine pairing was perfection as Delaney moves in with Warner (I see you forced proximity) and pushes all his buttons. Their banter was top-tier and their chemistry was undeniable as their fake marriage leads to a real unexpected, slow burn, opposites attract romance that puts Delaney’s mission and heart at odds with each other. The tension was palpable (especially as Warner’s memory returns) and the humor was spot on. There were some truly heartwarming moments too as Delaney and Warner navigate living together and their developing feelings. Suzie does a solid job of making all these elements work without it feeling too overstuffed. My only minor critique, and the reason it’s not a 5-star read, is that the third act breakup and resulting grovel felt a little too soapy and didn’t quite work for me. That breakup was brutal, and the grand gesture, while grand, was still lacking in the genuine heartfelt communication department. Still, this is a delightful, steamy read that delivers on all the tropes with a big, swoon-worthy heart. It gets a thumbs up from me.
The plot is an incredible opposites -attract, enemies -to -lovers, fake marriage love story. From the beginning, we were hooked, finding it impossible to put down.
The plot follows Delaney Bayetti, an elementary school teacher, and Warner Landers, a venture capitalist. Warner is hit by a car. To help him cope with short-term amnesia, Delaney convinces Warner that they were together. As they navigate their fake relationship, their relationship deepens, and sparks fly between them.
The chemistry and banter between Warner and Delaney are captivating, with Warner's flirtatious nature and Delaney's strong-willed personality creating a dynamic relationship. As they spend time together, Warner begins to unravel the lies.
Plot twists and challenges test their bond, but their heartfelt conversations and growing feelings for each other, which strengthen their connection. Warner's gestures of love and understanding, despite the deception, showcase his devotion to Delaney.
The ending adds a nice touch to their love story, revealing surprises and tying up loose ends. This plot was a captivating opposites -attract/enemies -to -lovers tale, brimming with emotional highs and lows. The author masterfully crafts a compelling narrative with well-developed characters and a heartwarming family dynamic. The interactions between the Bayetti family, Warner, and other characters feel authentic and endearing, adding depth to the story.
Overall, "Love and Warner" is a delightful read that delivers on its promises of romance, drama, and heartfelt moments. S.L. Scott's storytelling prowess shines through in this engaging love story, making it a must-read for fans of the genre.
Love and Warner A Grumpy, Enemies to Lovers, Fake Dating Romance By: S.L. Scott Narrated by: Aiden Snow, Callie Dalton
There is nothing better than sinking my teeth into a romance that has incredible chemistry. SL Scott writes Love and Warner, and oh boy, this story is packed with not only that, but all the tropes I love. From grumpy sunshine to fake dating, I was all in for this. Delaney is on a mission to save her family's restaurant. She goes to see Warner Landers and gets the brush off. But she is not so easily deterred. Following him out, she distracts him, and he ends up in an accident, resulting in amnesia that she takes advantage of. Why do you ask? Well there are several reasons, the biggest that she is a good person and she needed to make sure he was going to be all right. It does give her the upper hand as she gets to know Warner and why he operates the way he does, giving her the advantage of hopefully helping him heal and saving the restaurant. But what will happen if and when he gets his memory back? This is a fantastic listen, as Warner's true self is revealed, the feelings fly and the truth is told. It's that kind of listen that is impossible to stop once I started and loved every minute of it.
Narrated by Aiden Snow who is the kind of grumpy personalities, he creates Warner to be completely bewildered and letting his feelings out. Callie Dalton is Delaney, completely invested in the well being of Warner and her heart beginning to swell with emotions. This is a fabulous team and their narration pulled me in, made me fall in love and root for this couple. Fun!

Spice/ 🌶️🌶️🌶️ I received an eARC of Love and Warner by S. L. Scott through Hambright PR, and I’m leaving this review completely voluntarily.
This story really made me think about how far someone is willing to go for the people they love and for Delaney, that line stretches all the way to a broody, powerful CEO named Warner. She storms into his world with nothing but sass, determination, and everything to lose, all in a desperate attempt to save her family’s restaurant.
What Delaney never expects is that one car accident completely derails both of their lives. Warner wakes up with short-term amnesia, remembering everything except the accident… and discovering he somehow has a wife??? Warner knows something isn’t adding up, but chalks it up to the concussion while Delaney’s lies start stacking up faster than she can keep track of them, leaving her overwhelmed and completely in over her head.
Warner is the definition of all work and no play, and the tension between him and Delaney is thick enough to cut with a knife. I found myself flying through the pages, needing to know how everything would unravel. This is definitely one of those books you’ll want to finish in a single sitting.
Tropes you’ll find: Enemies to lovers Fake dating Grumpy x sunshine Age gap Slow burn Forced proximity
If broody CEOs, sizzling tension, and emotional chaos are your thing, this one is absolutely worth the read.
Love and Warner by S.L. Scott is one of those romances that feels instantly easy to slip into. It's trope-forward, emotionally engaging, and perfect for when you want something satisfying without being overwhelmed.
At its core, this is an enemies-to-lovers romance layered with a fake marriage and a case of short-term amnesia. Warner Landers starts firmly in cold, billionaire CEO mode. He is calculating, detached, and unconcerned with the collateral damage of his business decisions. Delaney Bayetti, on the other hand, is grounded, family-oriented, and fighting to protect her family’s restaurant from becoming just another line item in Warner’s portfolio. Their early interactions are tense and prickly, full of frustration and unresolved emotion. Then everything changes, but I won't give away all the fun details of the book.
Callie Dalton and Aiden Snow brought a natural warmth and ease to their performances, making the characters feel fully lived-in. The pacing works beautifully in audio; it flows smoothly, never drags, and makes it an easy listen.
There’s an underlying tension throughout the story because the relationship is built on deception, and while the fallout was less angsty than I'd hoped, the resolution still felt meaningful. The ending delivered a sense of closure and hope that fit the book's tone.
Overall, Love and Warner is a feel-good romance. It’s romantic, lightly spicy, and the kind of story that leaves you content.
A Grumpy CEO, Fake Dating, and a Romance That Steals Your Heart
I always enjoy diving into an S.L. Scott story, and she’s delivered yet another winner with Love and Warner. From the very first pages, Warner’s grumpy CEO energy is front and centre—sharp-edged, closed-off, and firmly set in his ways. His grumpiness shines early on, but never fear, because with Ms Scott’s signature flair, his world is about to change in ways he never saw coming.
Enter Delaney Bayetti, who comes crashing into Warner’s life and refuses to be ignored. Their banter is sharp, their chemistry undeniable, and every interaction crackles with tension as enemies slowly—and irresistibly—become something more. This is an orthodox fake dating romance that takes a leaf out of While You Were Sleeping, but with a unique twist that makes it feel fresh, modern, and completely addictive.
Everything blends beautifully here: the humour, the heart, and the slow-burn emotional pull. S.L. Scott delivers a story that feels comforting and nostalgic while still offering something new, proving once again why she’s such a go-to author for swoon-worthy romance.
S.L. Scott perfectly sums it up herself: “For fans of While You Were Sleeping and You’ve Got Mail comes the newest heist of a romance where their hearts are bound to get stolen.” And she’s absolutely right. If you love grumpy CEOs, enemies-to-lovers tension, fake dating, and classic rom-com vibes, Love and Warner is a must-read that will steal your heart. 💕
Love & Warner by S.L. Scott was an absolute roller coaster—and I loved every minute of it.
Going in, I knew the premise from the blurb: Warner gets hit by a car, loses his memory, and Delaney sees an opportunity to try and save her family’s restaurant. But how it all unfolds? Wild. The sheer confidence Delaney has that she can pull this off had me equal parts impressed and shocked.
Warner and Delaney were everything. The banter, the back-and-forth, the constant attempts to outsmart each other—it was so much fun to read. I also loved the multiple POVs because getting inside both of their heads made the story even richer as everything spiraled.
There were moments I was cracking up at Delaney’s audacity and others where I was genuinely surprised by Warner’s patience. I kept waiting for the big fallout, but as they grew closer, you could feel how they were both quietly glossing over the fact that they were lying to each other—just hoping they could still end up together.
I don’t usually cry while reading, but this one got me toward the end. And honestly? The way everything came full circle was incredibly satisfying.
I’m very curious if we’ll get spin-offs for some of the other characters because I would absolutely read them. Highly recommend this one.
Thank you to Hambright PR and S.L. Scott for the advanced reader copy. All thoughts—chaotic or otherwise—are my own.
This author knows how to weave a story. Grumpy X Sunshine is my fav trope, and Warner 1000% was grumpy to Delaney's sunshine.
This may sound odd, but I think I loved the side characters more. Between the family members, friends, front desk worker at Warner's penthouse, and more....they were just good characters. Jimmy even grew on me!
The fake marriage scheme was a little too obvious at being a lie from the start, but it was entertaining watching them both fall for each other in spite of the lie. Miscommunication was abundant in this story but seeing as the entire plot is around amnesia and a fake relationship, it went hand in hand. I have to say the last 40% of the book I could NOT put it down. The first part was good and entertaining, but the last...le sigh. I just had to know what was going to happen next.
🫶🏽 Lines:
He's handsome when he sleeps, like he is when he's awake, but more so when he's not speaking.
"Did you lure me in here with cookies?" "I'd like to think you came in to spend time with me, but did I unashamedly use a dessert to get you into bed? I did."
I'll pick a fight in the streets just to get punched for you. (because she said his black eye was hot 🤣)
I was the happiest I'd ever been when I was your Sass and you were my Hotshot. 😭
Talk is for the birds. You're not birds, Warner. You're in love, just admit it.
