The Price of Love: The Fate of a Woman—and a Warning to the West

Rate this book
“And so I have lived ever since—forever on the move, forever pursued, yet never afraid. My time in Pakistan altered the course of my life. Amidst the cruelty, amidst the fear, God whispered to ‘Stand before the giants and do not tremble.’ And so I stand unwavering, as He shields me time and again. From a single ember of faith, a great fire has risen.” — Sabatina James

Sabatina James lives on the edge.

She was promised to a man she didn’t choose, punished for resisting, and sentenced to death for her faith.

Born into a devout Muslim family, Sabatina risked everything to escape a forced marriage—and endured the brutal consequences that followed. After boldly converting to Christianity, she was condemned for apostasy and marked for death by Muslim jihadists. From the harsh confines of a madrassa in Pakistan to years under police protection in Europe and eventual exile in the United States, her journey is as harrowing as it is inspiring.

In The Price of Love, Sabatina recounts her transformation from a devout Muslim to a follower of Christ, offering an unfiltered, intimate look at the emotional, spiritual, and cultural battles she faced. Her story reveals the deadly cost of leaving Islam, challenges the global silence surrounding apostasy, and testifies to the power of Christ’s love to overcome violence, fear, and loss.

With piercing clarity, Sabatina pulls back the veil on the hidden realities of Islamic culture, the suffering of converts, and the rise of radical Islam in the West.

Raw. Urgent. Unapologetic.

In a world where truth is dangerous and silence buys safety, The Price of Love is more than a memoir; it is a wake-up call to the West, a fearless confrontation of evil, and a blazing testament to the unshakable freedom found in Jesus Christ.

Sabatina’s voice doesn’t just tell a story; it sparks a fire, lights a path, and dares others to “One act of bravery can shatter the silence. One voice can stir the sleeping. One soul willing to stand in the fire can awaken countless others.”

This book is worth reading. The author, through sharing her life story and experiences, provided me with a deeper understanding of how the religion of Islam affects women. She clearly differentiated between Muslims - individual people who may practice variations of Islam, and the religion itself. She repeatedly explained, in simple terms, what the Koran states about other religions, treatment toward non Muslims, and women. This book inspired me in my faith as a follower of Jesus Christ. This book also deepened my desire to pray for, give financial assistance, and pray that God open my eyes to ways I can help, my persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ.

Outstanding

The courage of this woman is astonishing. She has experienced and taken into herself the fullness of Jesus Christ and His Mystical Body the Catholic Church, and refuses to compromise this, even if priests, Bishops, and Popes do, even if government officials do, even if family members wish to murder her for following her conscience.

Courage and Love

This saga of the perilous spiritual journey of a Pakistani woman whose intellect and search for God led her eventually to Catholicism and, after a perilous time in Europe helping other Muslim women escape from the bondage of Islam, to America.
