This is a lovely witchy cosy crime read very similar to the Accidental Magic series. Last year, I found myself binging the life of MiaThornec series in quick succession.
Mia suffers from humiliation and reject and finds out she's inherited a cottage v in a small sleepy town. She Rediscovers herself. She gets a hot boyfriend. Makes new friends. (It has a hall ark movie written all over it). Find out she has psychic abilities and helps the local police on murders.
I've always wondered how a small town can have so many murders.
One thing I do like about the bloomin Psychic series is that they're remembering stand-alone. You don't have to read the other books to know what's going on. Things are explained and repeated (maybe a little too much)
I love the quirkyness of the characters and their relationships with each other. I did find some of the plot a bit repetitve to the last book. However, I think there's only so much you can do with being in a small town.
It's been lovely reading Mia's growth as a person and watching her confidence bloom.
I can't wait for book 8.

When a vampire detective show convention...
... comes to town...
The shows lead Tim dies; before the convention officially starts, in a bar from what appears to be choking on the cherry in his whiskey sour.
Derek Fairfax calls Mia out immediately to see if she can get in touch with his spirit and find out if it really is just an accident or something more sinister.
As Mia talks to Tim, it's clear that it's not quite as simple as that. Tim explains he spotted an unfinished drink sitting on the bar and drank it, but something felt off, and his throat started closing up. So, was it a deliberate attempt to kill him, his own medication he took himself, or someone mixing their own medication into a drink and leaving it?
It turns out Tim had a rare allergic reaction to ACE inhibitors, a blood pressure medication. But the glass is missing, and the suspect list includes not just the rest of the cast but a few oddball fans to boot. Can Mia and Derek get to the bottom of the mystery before the week is out and everyone leaves Newberry for good?

Great paranormal cozy mystery series
This is a great paranormal women’s fiction mystery series. A fun cast of characters in an entertaining storyline. Mia is a psychic who inherited her great ants magical house and garden. Has always been psychic and had other unique abilities. Unfortunately her mother was a prim and proper woman who did not put up with any of that Nonsense. So Mia was forced to suppress her abilities for most of her life until one day her life fell into turmoil and was changed when she found out she inherited her great aunts house she only seen a few times. And see where Mia and her friends had today. Once again another mystery to solve And people to see and criminals to catch. Check it out

I'm a little sad, apparently the next book is the last in the series. I suppose it's a fine line between dragging a series out too long and ending it too quickly. I'd argue these could have been a bit longer, adding a bit more detail. But maybe that's just me. But I will say, there's probably more character growth in this series than some "other series" that has three times as many books.
I would have read this in one sitting but I kinda stretched it out by reading a chapter or so until about halfway through. I wouldn't mind reading the series again once all the books are out.
It's not really a stand alone so I don't recommend jumping in here.

Fun read
I love, love this series! I love the covers of all the books in this series too! Mia Thorne, the main character, is finally accepting her psychic abilities along with her other gifted friends. She has a hot, lawyer boyfriend and a really fat, mean cat. What else does she need? Mia is a psychic consultant for the local police department and works in advertising for the local newspaper. Her life has changed so much since she moved to Newberry. This book is a little kooky, over the top sometimes, but it is so much fun to read! Now I have to wait until December for last and final book in the series!

Murder most strange!
I was glad to jump back into the world of Newberry, with Mia and Co.
I don't know why but I struggled with this one a little more than the others. I'm finding Derek insufferable. The tension between him n Mia is frustrating. He's a man child and so shallow. I'm glad she is still with Dane though and their relationship is blossoming.
After Tom dying, I figured out who the culprit was pretty early on. There was a lot of filler in this and found myself skimming .
Over all though it was fun and lighthearted as always.
I was glad to jump back into the world of Newberry, with Mia and Co.

This is a series that really, really grew on me as it went. Usually, I tend to lose interest as cozy mystery series tend to focus more on the relationship/drama and less on the mysteries as they go, but this one didn't go that way. It's hard to believe there's just one more book left. I'm already inclined to like a book about being fannish as long as it isn't a mockery, but in addition to that I felt like the side characters were really coming together for me and becoming more well-rounded here.

Since finally accepting her power, Mia is taken seriously by Derek while working as a consultant for the police department and helps him solve a murder.
While Newberry is host to a small fan based convention for a popular TV show, the star of the show is murdered and Mia and Derek are on the case.

Bloomin marvellous!
Cherry Dead is a very enjoyable read, as a middle aged women I enjoy reading about people who are a similar age.
The way Mia & Danes relationship is progressing is great. I would like to see Derek in a settled relationship with a quirky new character.

Nice addition
I enjoyed the story. It’s not an “edge of your seat” exciting book but it’s very enjoyable and you get time with all of the characters. The growth in Mia and Dane’s relationship is learned more from her thoughts than action. I enjoyed the development of her brotherly relationship with Derek.

Mia and the vampire
Cherry Dead was a delight to read. I laughed out loud numerous times. Mia's powers are progressing and it is fun to read how they work. She solves Tim's death with the help of Patrick and Derek. And it looks like Derek is having personal growth. He is snarky to Mia but also nice to her in his own way.

Better. Even though Mia has grown - A LOT - still not her fan, I know EXACTLY what menopause brain and hot flashes are and she complains FAR TOO MUCH about them. Derek's growth is impressive and score one for Ms. Chase, I didn't realize the killer for quite a long time - and THAT is always good for another star. Plus it was done all in one sitting so - okay, 5 stars.

A TV Vampire Detective show convention comes to town, but the actor who plays the main character dies the night before the convention can start. Mia is called in to help the police. Mia has to get close to the cast of the show in order to help Derek to solve the crime.
I loved this one, especially how active Patrick and Scarlet were in it. Another solid addition to the series.

Third book in a row where for a long time it wasn’t clear if it had been a murder or not. Instead, it was once more focused more on everything Mia has learned about herself since her move. Few scenes with Dane versus a lot with Derek. At least there was a little more psychic stuff involved than in the last one.
But seriously, I‘m glad I‘m moving on the the last in this series.

Enjoying Mia’s Progress!
The series has been fun to read; though I get a little disappointed sometimes at the lack of Mia’s emotional progress. I enjoy her friends, and the banter with Derek.

Good series that has shown great character development with almost all of the frequent players. It's interesting to see that the next book will finish the series though.
