It seems that even the darkest of clouds can have a silver lining.

During the COVID-19 lockdowns I found myself sitting at home and watching films. I was speaking to Jill Florio (co-founder and COO of RunPee) and we decided that as the cinemas were closed there would be no point in writing reviews for new films until things got back to normal. Fortunately she had a contact in a distribution company for low budget, independent films and I began reviewing those.

I also decided to try my hand at writing some essays on and around the subject of films and the people making them. These were put out on the RunPee blog and some people read them; must have been pandemic induced boredom! After a while I’d written quite a few and decided to fulfil one of my longest held ambitions, gather them together, and produce a book.

This is it!
