He lost his son. He lost his faith. He nearly lost himself.
When Pierre Mousseau’s 20-year-old son, Parker, died unexpectedly, it shattered everything. His identity as a father, his ability to lead his company, and his belief in a loving God. What followed was grief deeper than words, a collapse of faith, and a long silence from heaven.
But in that silence, something happened.
From the Ashes is a raw, deeply personal memoir about what it means to lose everything and slowly rebuild through faith, surrender, and grace. It’s the story of a father who spiraled to rock bottom and found his way back. Not by strength, but by surrender.
Written with honesty and heart, this book is
Anyone who has lost a loved one and wondered where God was in the pain
Men who struggle to show emotion, ask for help, or admit they’re not okay
Leaders trying to stay strong for everyone else while quietly falling apart
If you’ve ever whispered, “God, where are You?” this story will remind He was always there.

I read the book in one sitting. I found it inspirational, Motivational and emotionally Captivating. I have to admit that it move me to tears in a couple of chapters. But at the same time, impressed me with how Faced with A life challenging and tragic situation, a parent (In this case a father) Could Endure, rise up and make the world a better place by inspiring others who have been forced to do the same. The book is easy to read, Pierre’s writing style it’s almost Poetic. I strongly recommend the book.
This book is a deeply raw and honest account of a man navigating unimaginable loss. At its core is the devastating death of his son, a grief so profound it permeates every page, compounded by the pressure of running a company and the emotional toll of constant uncertainty. Nothing here feels filtered or softened. The author allows us into the uncomfortable, vulnerable spaces most people avoid, and that honesty is what makes this book so powerful.
Gripping real life story of a father struggling with the loss of his son, his loss for life and his faith in god, eventually picking up the pieces in his life and regaining his faith.
Pierre Mousseau's account moved me deeply. I did not lose a son. And cannot even fathom what he must be going through. And still reading his book gave me so much. It is about the power of honesty and vulnerability. When you are others - and God - meet you where you are. In a much better space. Thank you, Pierre, for taking me to that deeper place. In a powerful way!
This powerful and true story will break your heart, but it turn it will teach you through faith and trust in God, it is possible to move forward through the fragility of grief. I couldn’t put this book down. I read it from cover to cover in one night. I’m confident it will help many people who are struggling with grief.
