A fifty-year-old mystery meets a one-hundred-year storm in a cataclysmic, heart-wrenching clash.
Winona's life has been nothing but storms, and she's an expert at running. But the one person she’ll do anything for is her little brother, River, even if that means recording the next episode of their ghost hunting web series in the decrepit, abandoned, and notoriously haunted Black Magnolia Penitentiary in a small, pastoral town north of Dallas, Texas. He’s determined to prove a dead convict’s innocence after they received an anonymous fan email alleging the decades-old murder wasn’t as it seemed. But when River’s girlfriend gets stranded with car trouble, Winona is left to commune with the dead alone.
Until the Saddle Up Storm Chasers come barrelling down the road to drop off one of their members, and it feels like seeing a ghost. Winona might be good at outrunning storms, but the man whose heart she broke two years ago is an expert at chasing them. Charlie Rosenhoth is on photo duty at the prison, which is smack dab in the middle of a tornado warning. Trapped together, they're forced to share space for the next several hours and pretend like their dead love story isn't rising from the grave. Only, Winona would rather talk to ghosts about a long-forgotten crime than confront their tangled past that Charlie wants to study like the readings on his meteorological equipment.
As the dangerous storm closes in overhead and old secrets resurface as they race against time to prove a dead man innocent, the real risk might not be the ghosts or the weather—but the truths they’ve kept from each other. The spirits aren’t the only ones with unfinished business here, and time is running out for Winona and Charlie to wrap up the loose threads of their shredded past.
Unfinished Business is a spicy, heart-wrenching, second chance romance with a dash of ghosts, murder mystery, and tornadoes, perfect for fans of Twisters, Ghost Adventures, and those who couldn’t put down Nancy Drew as a kid.
Ah, I loved this! A ghost hunter meets a storm chaser in an abandoned prison for a second chance romance. Winona and Charlie's characters are beautifully put together, their romance feels so real and the story was truly heart warming.
I found this book to be very well paced and the smex scenes just smoldered enough, just lovely.
I received an advance review copy for free from booksirens.com, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Wow, I'm absolutely obsessed with this book. As a ghost loving girl who grew up watching Twister constantly I cannot recommend this book enough. It had so many surprises that my mouth literally dropped a couple times. Also, loved seeing the Estes Method mentioned as I love Karl & Connor (the creators of the method). This was my first book from this author and I 100% will be returning and buying this book in physical form as soon as it's available.
Thank you NetGalley & Cara for the opportunity to read and review this book, it was beyond a pleasure!
Thanks to Cara & NetGalley for an e-Arc in exchange for an honest review!
- 3.5 stars - finished the whole thing but struggled at times ngl😭 - This all could have been solved with a mf CONVERSATION😭😭😭😭ONE CONVERSATION!!! ONE!!!! JUST ONE WHERE WINONA SAYS WORDS TO CHARLIE AND GETS OVER HERSELF AND HER INFERIORITY COMPLEX!!!!! - “I’m going thru a hard time with familial struggles but I can’t tell the one person who loves me unconditionally about it because he’ll have to make CHANGES to his life and he’s too GOOD to me and too PERFECT to do that so I should just LEAVE HIM for TWO YEARS and NEVER talk to him again” oh my god Winona - Interesting threads (ghosts, storms, family drama, relationship) but just too much packed into one book - I think the fact that a ghost apparently wrote the original email that got Winona and her brother to investigate the haunted prison is all I need to say on the matter - Justice for Charlie yall, he broke a few ribs, faced emotional whiplash, and still found the time to get freaky as fuck in the haunted prison - Pulling the “‘that’s my wife you’re talking about’ he growled 😡😤🤬😠😠😠” bs in a contemporary romcom is not the move….especially when he says it to HIS MOM???? Like please be so fr rn - Can’t believe River’s new dad is a 26yo manslut obsessed with tornadoes. Congrats I guess - The more I think about it, the more I realize that Charlie STILL getting freaky with Winona with TWO BROKEN RIBS AND BRUISING FROM BEING HALF-CRUSHED BY A FALLEN PIECE OF SHEET METAL is highkey insane. He’s stronger than the marines - Once the midpoint twist was revealed that they were married I knew it was (semi-)wraps

No, stop! This is irrevocably 5 stars idc. I loved this so much, the banter and the tension was absolutely unparalleled, and with the setting being in an old abandoned prison during a tornado storm that rivals that of twisters (cowboy hat Glen Powell ™), I simply ate this up and left no crumbs, despite it being second chance and split timeline (both things I usually avoid!)
This was spooky, funny, engaging, and so incredibly well written with underlying themes and a good dose of irony!
Thank you to BookSirens and Cara Calloway for providing me with this ARC!
I loved this book and want to thank the author for giving me the chance to read and review before it is published! This story completely hooked me. I went in expecting an emotional story, but I didn’t realize how much the ghost-hunting aspect would draw me in too. I love stories that blur the line between the living and the dead, and this one did it so well…it felt real and deeply personal. As someone who believes in ghosts, I connected to it on a whole other level.
The mix of grief, love, and the supernatural was handled beautifully. The characters felt genuine and their emotions hit hard, but there was also this haunting undercurrent that made everything feel more meaningful. It’s about more than ghosts…it’s about unfinished connections, forgiveness, and learning to let go while still honoring what lingers.
I loved that it was also about tornado chasing and weather! I had an a-ha moment when one part of the book mentioned about what the past did to warn others and realized that most times they were completely surprised and unprepared for devastation. Just like life now throws you curve balls that you must deal with.
This book was emotional, eerie, and unexpectedly comforting…this story stayed with me long after I finished it and I was invested in James story as well! 🫶🏻 Well done Cara!
I don’t normally tend to go for second chance romance, but I found that I actually really enjoyed this one. There were a few things that I didn’t really enjoy, like some of the infuriating qualities of the main character, but they were believable within the context of the story (the main character’s upbringing would naturally lead to questionable decision making and some childishness as an adult). For me, the best part of the book was the love interest: bookish, sweet, and devoted.
This one is a great read for October if you’re wanting something with ghosts that isn’t too scary. A lot of the paranormal investigation feels similar to that Shane and Ryan “skeptic and believer” kind of vibe, which I enjoyed. I am not personally a believer in ghosts, so there was the occasional eye roll at Winona’s insistence that they were real but it wouldn’t be a ghost story without them. Overall, I’d give this story four stars. If you’re wanting a quick, spooky season read, definitely recommend.
Thank you so much to NetGalley for providing an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
4.5⭐️ this was SO good!! I loved watching ghost adventures when I was younger and when I found out that this was that mixed with Twisters, I said give it to me right now!
This is spooky second chance romance is full of angst and longing that I ended up reading half of it in one sitting. The dual timelines helped the pace of the story and understanding the history between Winona and Charlie since we’re only in the present timeline for a couple days. I would seriously read about them doing mundane chores together and I’d love it. I do think there were a couple moments that needed to be more flushed out in order to believe the acceptance and reuniting of the two, but overall this was a wonderful read!
I was a beta reader for Cara years ago (on a totally different book that I hope works out!!) and I’m so proud to witness her accomplishments so far and can’t wait to see what’s in stores for her! Thank you Cara for the arc!
Trigger or content warnings? Yes, included in book.
Details? FMC’s name is Winona, and she is 25 years old. MMC’s name is Charles Rosenhoth and he is 27 years old. Winona purposefully has been saving herself for the right man, but usually just tells men that she’s waiting till marriage to put them off just in case they only want to have sex with her. Charles never pushes. Slight OW- Charles’ Mom invites his ex to thanksgiving while Winona and Charles are together. Charles has no romantic interest in his ex, he is fully dedicated to be a kept man. This ex is the woman his parents hoped he would marry, and they were each other’s firsts. Winona and Charles have been apart for 2 years and neither have been with others.
My thoughts?
I was so excited going into this, by chance it popped up on my instagram feed and I applied for the ARC on Netgalley and was approved!! This book is about two people who end up separated because of old trauma, protective instincts, and purposeful miscommunication (self sabotage). *Ehem* It was all Winona. Her family life is extremely dysfunctional, and even though I could understand that I was having a really hard time sympathizing with her. Charles, Charles, Charles. Charles was such a good MMC that it left me no choice but to officially consider him a perfect book boyfriend.I will be comparing all others to him from now on (slightly joking). Winona and Charles crash right back into each other’s lives at a closed penitentiary. Winona is there with her 17 year old younger brother River doing a paranormal investigation, and Charles is there to get some photography of a wicked storm in the area. The paranormal investigation is partially what pushed me through to read the whole book, when my frustration with Winona became too much, it was the mysteries they were uncovering in the old prison that kept me reading. Along with Charles, ahhh Charles.
Thank you to Cara Callaway and Netgalley for an arc of Unfinished Business!
I absolutely devoured this book. The plot already had me intrigued as I love a good ghost hunting moment, but the real hook for me was the tension between the main characters.
Winnie had so much depth and nuance to her character. She's beautifully flawed with so much wit that I never got tired of being in her brain. SO many times I laughed out right or felt her pain in my own chest.
And then there's Charlie.
Charlie "I'm so fucking hungry, Winona." Rosenhoth. Charlie "Just give me one more." Rosenhoth. Charlie "I wouldn't rush it if you begged me." Rosenhoth.
If you're looking for a new book boyfriend look no further. The toe curling scenes are perfectionnnn.
I love that Cara played with such a fun concept by mashing together storm chasing with ghost hunting AND delivered a sweet, spicy, chemistry-filled second chance romance, all while exploring such deeper themes of breaking past and through the family dynamics of how one was raised.
Will be recommending this to anyone looking for a fresh second chance romance!!
Thank you NetGalley and Cara for the early release of this book.
I loved this. It was a perfect book for the spooky season but adding a sexy romance.
The plot was really interesting with Winona and River being ghost hunters and Charlie being a storm chaser. I absolutely love second chance romance novels so this was right up my alley but adding the plot was super fun.
The way I’ve been cravinggggg a storm chaser romance since Twisters rekindled the flame last year! I grew up adoring the 1996 version and having more media to consume within this niche makes my heart oh so happy. This scratched yet another nostalgic itch with a nod to the beloved world of Nancy Drew and the FMC is a fellow retired ballerina so there was truly just an overwhelming sense of fondness all the way around for this book
Unfinished Business truly had all the things I look for in a second change romance: Dual timeline, present time references to a fallout so the reader has to slowly unravel what happened, lotssss of yearning. A little plot twist in this had me sit upright and immediately message the author because AHHHH HOW SNEAKY!! The chemistry between these two was so good I was lapping up every single word exchanged. Muah 🤌🏻✨
I loved the paranormal suspense element that was a part of this! When reading the synopsis, I wondered if too many things would make the story feel clustered but I never felt that way while reading at all! The story flowed very smoothly (albeit, at times a bit long winded) and I think the storm chaser x ghost hunter vibe worked extremely well for this story! Well done to the author for delivering such a beautifully fleshed out romance with so many layers to unpack 👏🏻
I think some readers will question some of the hasty decisions these characters make (they are very young…like think TSITP young lol) but I enjoyed the story too much to give this much thought and would encourage others to press on because there was so much gold to experience outside of this. The complexity of both lead characters made this a truly compelling read and I wasn’t expecting this much emotional depth…and for it to be delivered so stunningly 😭🫶🏻 Eldest daughters are going to have a field day with this one. I related to the FMC almost a scary amount but the more heavier topics approached were so thoughtful in delivery, that there was a sense of solidarity in some of those shared experiences. Definitely check your triggers though because this book will definitely fall into my sad girl romance category ❤️🩹
Absolutely thrilled for Cara Calloway and wish her all the best with this book and projects to come!
Thank you so much to Victory Editing Co for the gifted digital arc in exchange for my honest thoughts 💌
Thank you NetGalley and Cara Calloway for this ARC!
I thoroughly enjoyed this more than I thought I would and I'm not mad about it. It was super easy to read and binge.
Such an impressive and strong debut that hit all the marks. I went in expecting a fun and spooky romance (which it is) but it had so much depth and raw emotion interwoven throughout with the moments of levity. The book left my heart aching at multiple points throughout the story. Also, I'm typically not a big believer in second chance romances but the way in which Cara wrote this story made sense on why things ended up the way they did for the main characters.
Though it was just the FMC's POV, the MMC's thoughts and feelings were undeniably clear and obvious. The writing and pacing was so thoughtfully constructed and the flashbacks served their purpose without dragging the momentum down or overwhelming the plot and current timeline. Instead, it added so much insight to the characters and their dynamic, as well as upping the stakes in this story. It was also a treat to read about them falling in love when they were young and dumb in college - it was so sweet.
Everything blended so well and masterfully together – from the paranormal investigating + storm chasing aspect to the romance plot to the gut wrenching family side plot line – it all resulted in a robust story that kept me on the edge of my seat, waiting to find out what happens next in both timelines.
The FMC's character was so well developed and complex that though I didn't agree with how things went down, I understood her motivations and justifications. It was gritty and real - no matter how much it frustrated me. I did want a bit more background and nuance to the MMC's character but otherwise, I loved the overarching message of the story and the growth that the FMC goes through.
Shoutout to the ghosts who were the real MVPs in moving along the romance plot lol.
Would read again. Perfect for spooky szn but honestly, can be read all year round. Excited to read whatever else Cara Calloway writes!
I picked up this book on a whim after being drawn in by the cover, expecting something light and fun—only to end up devouring it in a single sitting. It delivered exactly the spooky-season energy I didn’t know I needed. A ballerina-turned-ghost hunter and a meteorologist-turned-storm chaser? I didn’t realize that was my new favorite genre mash-up until now.
From the start, Winona and Charlie hooked me. Separately, they’re compelling, but together? Absolute chaos in the best way. I felt for Winona and her tightly guarded heart, and Charlie crashing back into her life like an emotional storm made me root for them even harder. We absolutely love a man who is shamelessly obsessed and actively yearning.
The dual timeline structure was such a win. Being able to see their past unravel alongside their present-day reunion added depth, tension, and so much aching emotion. Instead of falling back in love with the memory of who they used to be, we get to watch them rediscover each other as they are now—flawed, changed, but still tethered. I was fully invested, whispering “please just figure it out” like a desperate ghost in the background.
The abandoned prison setting was the perfect eerie backdrop—just creepy enough to give me chills without losing the romantic tension. I’m not someone who scares easily while reading, but I definitely got a few goosebumps during their investigation… and maybe a different kind of shiver when the chemistry heated up.
This story managed to be spooky, romantic, emotionally raw, and wildly entertaining, all without a single dull moment. I was constantly on edge wanting to know more, not just about the ghosts haunting the prison, but the ghosts haunting Winona and Charlie themselves.
Easily a top read of the month, and I already want to reread it.
And yes—special shoutout to the ghosts for the vibes.
Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publishers for this ARC in exchange for a honest review. I loved it!
When I came across this book on NetGalley, the title and cover immediately caught my eye, and when I read the plot, I was sold! Ghost hunting in a prison to try and exonerate an innocent man's spirit while unexpectedly running into your ex because he was storm chasing in the area? Sign me up for a fun time!
I believe Cara Calloway has a lot of potential and wouldn't be surprised to see her books on the shelves in the upcoming years! Her pacing, suspense, and chemistry kept me interested and wanting more every time I had to put the book down (for reference, I read this in less than 24 hours). I recommend this book and I will be keeping an eye out for more of Cara Calloway's book in the future!
I enjoyed Winnie and Charlie's story a lot, but it would have been better to see more character growth from Winnie because Charlie deserved more than what she was giving him. Winnie was so stubborn and it was frustrating at times. However, with that being said, Winnie grew up with an abusive family with extreme communication issues. As someone who tends to shuts down more than express their thoughts and feelings, I understood Winnie better... People like us need someone with the patience of angel like Charlie and I still loved both their stories (together and separated)!
I also appreciate how the author paced the book though. Any time things got a little too serious, the ghosts came in to cut the tension, so thank you, ghosts! 👻
I recommend this book if you love:
- Second-chance romance - Friends-to-lovers - Ghosts (believing in them or being skeptical) - Learning about storms and clouds - Cozy spookiness - Forced proximity - Dual timeline (past and present) - Nicknames - Closed + open door scenes
Thank you to NetGalley and Cara Calloway for the eARC!
If you’re looking for a second chance romance with yearning, ghost-filled tension, a true crime worthy mystery, and an impending storm (metaphorical and physical) this is the story for you.
Our girl Winnie has had a very tough upbringing resulting in lots of trauma and unhealthy coping mechanisms. (And her love for her younger brother River is an absolute delight). Charlie is an emotionally mature king. He can do no wrong and I’ll fight anyone who disagrees.
Unfortunately, they’re exes.
Imagine their surprise when they run into one another after two years apart at an abandoned haunted prison. Talk about a jump scare. What happens next is a night of rekindling a relationship both could never get over.
I’ll say when the plot twist occurs, my jaw almost fell to the ground. Was I angry with Winnie over hurting my sweet bby Charlie ? Yes. Do I understand why she did what she did? Yes, especially once we see the why play out through flashbacks. It still upset me a teensy bit over her decision, esp when we’ve been shown through flashbacks he was a stand up guy… but seeing Winona’s upbringing made it all make sense. It makes her human, and relatable, even if it did piss me off.
The prose was lovely and I thoroughly enjoy a book where I get to learn AND has spice and a love story. This one didn’t disappoint. All the ghost hunting and meteorological facts were fascinating and imagining the author googling all this makes me smile.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ check out this indie author for sure! She’s going places.

One of my top reads of the year!! Is it whacky? Yes. Is it wild? Yes. Is it fun? Hell yeah it is! It's sexy nancy drew meets Twisters meets Ghost Hunters.
But in between the rom-com well-timed comedic breaks (hello, the ghosts like to meddle), this author tackles gritty, hard life subjects. We see the main female character, Winona wrestle between long-held insecurity and wounds from a neglectful family. We watch as Charlie, the male main character, confronts his own betrayal about their relationship, but also, his unsteady wavering wish for her to be happy, even without him.
ALSO, the past timeline, while they fall in love? SO SWOONY. I was kicking my feet the whole time.
Anyone who doesn't enjoy the miscommunication of this set up doesn't understand flawed, traumatized characters and how that impacts their actions, thoughts, and reasons. Winona has a scarred history and she's desperately trying to change, but trust is hard. As a reader, I was cheering for her the whole time to open up, be honest, and vulnerable (and it helps Charlie took his shirt off at least once.) You YEARN for these characters to reconnect and the HEA is earned in lush prose, and a will-they-won't-they push and pull that's expertly pulled off.
A storm chaser and a paranormal investigator? SIGN ME UP ✍🏻✍🏻✍🏻
When Winona’s brother leaves her to go help his girlfriend, she is left alone at Black Magnolia Penitentiary to capture some paranormal activity. Up until Saddle Up Storm Chasers comes flying down the road, dropping off Charlie Rosenhoth. The boy who’s heart she broke two years ago. He is on photo duty at the prison to capture the current tornado warning. As the storm grows closer, old secrets resurface. They have some unfinished business, and time is running out.
This had me seated from chapter 1. I’m so intrigued with storm chasers. That adrenaline rush would be so crazy, also in a creepy ghost prison at the same time?? Count me out 🫣
The vibes are pristine. This was such a fun read. The tension between Charlie and Whinona is so hot. Charlie is just so cute, golden retriever for sure. The sexy scenes were perfect & the twists had me left with no words.
A steamy, second chance romance with a murder mystery. You can’t miss out!!
Thank you so much to NetGalley & Cara for the ARC 🤍
First of all, I want to thank Cara and NetGalley for the ARC! 🙌
Before I picked up this book, I was looking for something with spooky vibes (hello, spooky season). It hits the mark.
This book is packed with information and storylines, but I really appreciated that it was never boring. It kept me on edge, wanting to know everything about Charlie and Winona.
This second-chance romance is raw and beautiful, and the setting, an abandoned prison, is just spooky enough!
I’m usually never scared when reading a book, but spirits have always spooked me a lot (especially in documentaries). And even though I know it’s all fiction, I still got chills from fear a few times during their investigation.
And a few other chills... because the romance was hot, too. 🔥
I walked into this book completely blind after checking out the cover and thinking ‘oh hey this looks fun’. Let me tell you I was very unprepared and I read it in basically one sitting. This book caught me so off guard but was so perfect for spooky season! I didn’t realize I needed a ballerina turned ghost hunter vs a meteorologist turned storm chaser book until I read this one.
I don’t even know how to begin with my review. I loved this book so much. I loved both Winona and Charlie, individually and together. I definitely related to Winona guarding herself and her heart when Charlie comes in like a wrecking ball and is just super obsessed with her. We love a man who YEARNS.
I loved that this book showed dual timelines so we were able to see their past and present relationship and what went wrong. I also really enjoyed seeing them talk about their relationship, and get to know each other as they are now, instead of just loving who they used to be. I spent the book just hoping these two crazy kids were able to figure it out.
This was definitely a top read for me this month and I can’t wait to reread it.
Also shoutout to the ghosts.
Thank you to Cara Calloway, NetGalley and Victory Editing for an advanced copy of this book. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Thank you Cara Calloway and NetGalley for allowing me the pleasure of reading an ARC of Unfinished Business, which has quickly become one of my top reads of 2025!
If you are interested in romance, ghosts, and stormchasing, then this is the book for you. I found the characters relatable and charming, and the plot was unique and well-thought. As someone who is part of a paranormal investigation team, I appreciated the attention to detail Cara used in describing the equipment and communication techniques used in paranormal investigating.
My favorite part of the book is the emphasis on sibling relationships. As an oldest child, the FMC’s bond with her younger brother reminded me of the bond I share with my own younger brother, giving this book an added layer of emotional relatability.
Knowing that this is Cara’s first book is wild - I can’t wait to read more of her work in the future. 👻🌪️🖤
What initially drew me to this book was the premise (also the beautiful cover). I'm a sucker for mysteries and ghost stories, plus throw in a bit of romance and I'm sold. While I thought most of my interest in the story would be for the mystery surrounding the abandoned prison (and it WAS super interesting) I was pleasantly surprised by just how invested I became in the main characters and their stories (both individually and as a couple).
Cara Calloway is masterful at character development, and creates well-rounded, three-dimensional characters who I feel like I KNOW deeply. Not an easy feat for many writers. I'm still thinking about these two days after--their emotional wounds, their ambitions, their efforts to heal. I'm sad to leave them, which in my opinion is the mark of a great story. Will be doing a re-read in the future...or perhaps the author would be open to writing a sequel?
This was a random and impulse request on NetGalley, but I’m so glad I did! This book made me feel so many emotions! I am such a sucker for second-chance romance, especially when the MMC is a hot nerd who wears glasses and chases storms <3
The only thing that bothered me was the whole drama of why Win left. She really made that man suffer for two years for a new reason.
Anyway, I loved this book and can’t wait to read more from this author!
This book was such a fun read! The dual timeline had me falling in love with Winona and Charlie so fast, I felt like Lindsay (KISS!) I was immediately invested in these two, and the ghost hunting and storm chasing plot lines were so interesting, now I'm ready to go down both of those internet rabbit holes. I loved everything about this book, and can't wait for more from Cara Calloway!
Such a good book! The history and love story between Charlie and Winnie was saucy and fun but also hard to read because it would have been painful to live through. Characters were well developed and the story kept me reading. I recommend this book for sure. Thanks NetGalley for the advanced book.
Yes, a book about ghosthunters 👻 AND stormchasers 🌪️ is EXACTLY what I needed. I’m such a sucker for second chance romances and this one served up one of the best early-on twists I’ve read in romance in quite a while (I literally sat straight up in bed like the exorcist because I was so shocked💀). The mix of the dual timeline and mystery/suspense subplots made the pacing of this book perfect and unputdownable.
My only complaint is that the author left one plotline open and it’s driving me crazy just because I want more! I guess that is a good problem to have 😆
Thank you to NetGalley and the author for an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Amazing book, it was everything i wanted it to be and honestly i have no words. Perfect for the halloween time but would honestly be a fun read for any rainy or gloomy day - or even sunny days actually. I'm very picky with my romances but not only did i love the couple, i was also very invested in finding out their backstory. I also think the dual timeline was really well implemented in the story, i loved how the present is basically set in a few hours and we'd get snippets of their life together throught the book. And the ghost/storm plot? Omg, loved it! Perfect ambiance, really well structured and overall very engaging. Recomend to absolutely anyone
4.5✨ I really loved this book it was such a ride!! Fast paced, very well written and the world building of the prison was excellently describe. The plot was amazing love murder mystery.
Winona's a girl that’s had a hard family live and because of that it’s affecting her relationship with the boy she’s loves. She’s very protective of her younger brother River who she’s left with an unstable mother. Winona your mother bear, do everything to please them to keep the peace, stubborn and thinks she’s not worth happiness because of her family. Now she’s and well as her brother are both paranormal investigators and are on the hunt to a prison to help solve a crime of an innocent man or is he. Left own in a prison while her brother helps his girlfriend out she’s bumps into Charlie while he’s on a job.
Charlie a weather chaser he does it for selfless reasons to help people to let them know when a tornado is coming early on so they can get their family to safety. He’s selfless, caring and not that brave enough to stand up to his own mother. Charlie not see Winona for two years after she’s pretty much up and left he without a good reason now stuck tighter in a forced proximity we get to see how they become where they are today as we divide deeper into the past.
River is Winona's youngest brother’s parents have let down, but lucky for him his sister took on the role as his mother and help him. Overall loved the book and highly recommend it!! 🥰
if you love all things paranormal and enjoyed watching glen powell and daisy edgar jones chase after tornados in the film twisters then i have a feeling you’ll absolutely love unfinished business!!!
the angst throughout this book had me hooked immediately, and as someone who isn’t always the biggest fan of a second chance romance i was absolutely loving this!
the whole time i was reading i desperately wanted to wrap winona in a hug and tell her that no matter what she’s been through, she’s allowed to feel loved!!! charlie was the perfect mmc and the perfect person for her; i loved how he supported her throughout the book, even with all the hurt he was feeling after how they originally parted ways - he was consistently down bad for her and i was eating it allllll up!
“i may be a skeptic about most things in life, but if there is one thing i have blind, unwavering faith in, it’s us” 🥺🥺
i need everybody to go and read this immediately on October 31st!!
thank you to netgalley and cara calloway for the opportunity to read this early!<3
