SOME RESCUES CHANGE EVERYTHING.Sinclair Hobbes came to steal a jewel worth a fortune. He left with something far more a man too broken to walk, who shoots like no human should be able to, and who whispers the name of a planet that doesn't exist.
Standard operating procedure says leave him. Taking on unknown cargo in the Grids means trouble, and he has enough of that already.
Hobbes takes him anyway.
Soon the Hidrion Syndicate, humanity's most powerful allies, are sending warships after Hobbes' ship. Not for the jewel. For his passenger. And they're willing to start a war to get him back.
Hobbes is a thief, not a hero. He doesn't do righteous causes.
But this man saved his life.
Some debts you can't walk away from.
The Grid Broken is the first book in a pulse-pounding series about found family, impossible choices, and what happens when one act of compassion ignites a rebellion that will shake the Grids.
A team of three human thieves, bent on stealing a jewel from an aliens’ mining site and returning it to its rightful alien owners end up rescuing a disgraced and barely alive human end up in a political battle with the authorities in one side and an alien syndicate reclaiming the human. What the ragtag team discover about what they had done to the human is so hard to digest, it left me feeling so unnerved, and so sad and angry, just like the main characters trying to do the impossible to protect the human they had rescued. World building is great, the plot unnerving, a universe full of many different astounding aliens. Now I’m compelled to read book-2 to know what happens to the protagonists trying to protect the human. What is so special about this human that the aliens want him back so badly they don’t care if they start a war between species! A great read!
Three friends, Sinclair Hobbes, Grun and Hawthorn , travelled to a planet where you can drive your spaceship down a mine shaft on a planet, park it and wonder around in the mine. Normal? No ways, yet a way of life here apparently. Except these three friends did so to steal a huge jewel called the Dewdrop . Why? To deliver it back to the actual owner. Except nobody could have foreseen that this venture would also have them meet up with another human called Arden. A very strange one, at that too. One that will change their "comfortable" existence into a nerve wrecking nightmare. Author Daniel Young once again takes the reader on a wild rollercoaster ride in space with Grid Wars: Broken and that will have your jaw dropping and widen your eyes amazement in a dire adventure unlike any you have ever read. Enjoy
I really enjoyed this space opera. It reminds me a little bit of Firefly in that there’s a captain with a big heart. At first, I thought he was a thief or an opportunist or a mercenary, but you’ll have to read about that, for yourself. In the process of pulling off a heist, he rescues a man with preternatural reflexes who saves his life. But the man’s mind is shattered and fragmented. We eventually find out what happened to him - more or less. But I don’t want to give any spoilers. Lots of action. Lots of friendship. The little guy struggling to do what is right … I’m really looking forward to book two. Note there is some swearing, particularly the D word. I received a free copy of this book with no obligation.
This book is a little different than what I normally read but so far there has been plenty of action on and off planet to make it interesting . The new x prisoner that they saved in not really much to say about as they are still trying to find out what was done to him for him to act the way he is acting and he won't say hardly anything or can't. Time to find out more in the next book in this series.
This story was fun to read. It starts out with the theft of a jewel and then snowballs from there as three friends end up in chaos and trouble. Mix of action and surprises. Good characters, good story and lots of fun. Many scenes had me laughing. Enjoyed the story and cannot wait to see what happens next.
THE GRID WARS, BROKEN (Book 1) was an interesting, entertaining read but there was not much of a plot. Also, it ended with a hated cliffhanger! Disclosure: I received a free Advance Reader Copy of this book with no strings attached. My review contains my honest opinion.
Another unbelievable series that will keep you intrigued to the very end. Filled with action and danger, there’s no putting the book down until you get to the end. Sinclair is a fantastic character, who’s not sure who he is. Don’t miss out on reading this outstanding series.
