It's refreshing to read about a fictional sex industry populated by three-dimensional characters believably dealing with true-to-life problems. While they are well-integrated and always serve the story, occasionally the explicit scenes distract from the bigger picture.

Kudos to artist Yishan Lee for so adeptly rendering these sex workers' facial expressions, depicting their detachment from the intimacies they commit while on-the-job. It cannot be underscored enough:

IS NOT.
INTO YOU.

They're servers, and servers only get tipped (and keep their jobs) when they ingratiate themselves to their clients – smiles, agreeableness, smiles, availability, smiles, ever-sexiness, and smiles.
