Ahhhhh guysssss ahebdkfiebebjsdhhhh I enjoyed this so much!!! The ending 🥰🥰🥰. Yall who know me, know I love a squeaky clean romance with some faith content and this one had it in as little as 120 pages! I enjoyed it, it was so cute and gave that special Christmas spirit. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a Christmas book with some light faith content and clean romance. Eek! Merry (early) Christmas!! 😄 🎄
Tbh I was a little turned off at first when the characters were going to kiss before confessing their feelings for each other, but then when they made amends later on 🥹🥹 I was sold. And the forgiveness arc with Luke!! Ahhh nearly had me bawling over recent relationship experiences. I loved it so much. I highly recommend for this Christmas season!!
*A special thanks to author for sending me a copy for review!*
"Snowed Inn" by Ashley Clark is a heart-warming hug of a story sure to have readers happy sighing this holiday season!
This novella features endearing characters, a charming small town, quaint bookstores, a matchmaking gran, sweet romance, and a perfectly delightful dog named Ginger.
If you fancy a visit to Vermont—it should be beautiful this time of the year, all that snow— get Snowed Inn at Holly Hollow this Christmas!
This charming Christmas novella gets ALL the stars! I loved this adorable story, from the setting of Holly Hollow, to the surprising depth of story in a novella, this book is wonderful! This is one of my favorite stories from Ashley!
I received an ARC of this book, but also pre-ordered my own Kindle copy as well as my own paperback copy. I was not required to post a positive review and all thoughts on my own.
4.5 stars, rounded up for this platform Completed: Nov. 23/25 Series: A Holly Hollow Romance, #1 Format: Kindle e-book
Book #159 of 2025: Ashley Clark knows how to write a novella. I’ve been working my way through her other books and have enjoyed every single one.
This contemporary novella is different than her past books. It is cozy, lighthearted, romantic, and comical. Yet there is still depth with Ivy’s family loss and work dissatisfaction. Also, there is Luke’s back story with some hurt and disappointment.
Gran is a stellar side character. What a hoot! Her matchmaking is soooo subtle (not!), her cheekiness, and her job is definitely unique for her age.
Amidst the roaring fires, snowy walks, hot cocoa, a sweet dog…. there is a little Christmas beauty at work. My only complaint is that it had to end!
I am so thankful that the author is able to write again and I respect her sharing what she’s been growing through. I also appreciated the message from Ginger the dog, along with the recipe for Gran’s infamous pancakes, after the story ends.
Jump into this fun Holly Jolly read today! Full of Gilmore Girls nostalgia in all the best ways with a modern storyline that creates so much warmth for sweet romance you’ll be ready to get snowed in with your favorite guy too! I love Ashley Clark’s fun filled spirit in this book and the inclusion of recipes at the end was next level perfect!
I suppose for a short story, it did the job... but I could not get over the editing issues. Grandma was Mabel/Mable depending on the chapter. Made my eye twitch.. 2.5 stars.
“Snowed Inn” by Ashley Clark is a delightful holiday novella that captures all the warmth and charm of Christmas in one quick read. This cozy story follows a cast of four perfectly rom-com-tastic characters over the course a single snowy weekend in Vermont:
- a big city girl in a charming small town - a handsome sweetheart who loves his small town (and his “Gran”) - a meddlesome (but lovable) grandmother with a penchant for matchmaking and baking competitions - an adorable pup who manages to get her owner into a bit of a fix
If you love Hallmark Christmas movies, have ever wanted to move to Stars Hollow, or are looking for a quick read to get you into the holiday spirit, then “Snowed Inn” might be just the thing for you!

**I received an advanced reader copy of this book from the author but was not required to leave a review. All thoughts and opinions expressed here are my own.**
If you want a lighthearted Christmas story then this is it. A hallmark Christmas movie in a novella form this follows city girl to country boy Luke-and yes I picture Luke from Gilmore Girls as I read. 🤷🏻♀️ It’s set in small town Vermont and as someone who has been to Vermont many times I can totally picture the setting. It’s a perfect one to add to your feel good Christmas TBR this year.
Okay- I finally figured out my holiday reading niche. NOVELLAS.
I love a good cozy and cheesy holiday vibe, but I could never love it enough to read over 300 pages worth.
This book was a little over a hundred pages, and gave me all the warm feelings, without dragging it out. Super cute, hallmark-y cliche that my heart needed.
This was a new author for me and it didn’t disappoint me either. It was a cute, sweet, well written book. Ivy and Luke got their happy ending with the help from his grandmother
A cute short christmas novel about a woman who gets snowed in, in a small town and falls in love with it. Basic but still cute. A slow burn closed door romance.
I’ve enjoyed Ashley Clark’s books in the past, so when I saw she had a new book, I wanted to get it! This was a short and sweet cozy “Hallmark movie” read. If you like those, this will be perfect!
Quick, easy-breezy Christmas novella that I read between two lengthier books. A palette-cleanser, if you will. Ivy is stranded in a small town during a snowstorm and is invited to stay with Luke's grandmother until the roads open again. Her short stay in the cute little town affords her the chance to re-evaluate her life and also to fall for Luke. Bonus points for a cute cover, a sweet little dog called Ginger, and a matchmaking grandmother.
A cute, Hallmark-esque Christmas romance! It was the perfect length, with enough depth to appreciate the character arcs of the hero and heroine. It has small town charm, bookish moments, a matchmaking grandma, baking contests, other delightful Christmas moments. It would seriously make a great Hallmark movie premise! I already know who should play the hero ;)
Enjoy a quick little novella jaunt into a small-town Holly Hollow with all of the Christmas holiday warm vibes. Ivy is stuck in a snowstorm in this little hamlet with welcoming residents, including a meddling grandmother with an incredibly handsome grandson. There is of course a cute dog, community Christmas traditions, and a really cool bookshop. This was a fast read that I felt took me off into a small winter wonderland for a brief respite from the hustle and bustle of Christmas in the city. Ashley Clark has a very nice backlist and I’ve read almost all that she has to offer. I appreciate her warmth and gift of storytelling and can’t help but recommend anything she has written. I purchased a Kindle copy of this book from Amazon and I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. It's great to have Ashley Clark back writing after her recent health issues. My first experience of Clark's storytelling was another Christmas novella and this is one is similarly good. It felt complete, it only being 120 pages and that length can be a challenge to get right but Clark has done it again.
it reminded me a bit of a Hallmark movie or a Gilmore Girls episode where boy meets girl in a meet cute way. A four-legged lady called Ginger being the reason.
Ivy and Luke both have sad backstories that in some way they're running from and they are soon able to encourage each other to both talk about it and have the courage to change their lives to stop running.
With the picturesque backdrop of snowed-in small town Holly Hollow, and a match-making Gran who also happens to cook magnificently, and we can't forget Ginger, everything is set up for romance.
Welcome back, Ashley Clark and we look forward to your next story whenever it lands.
"Snowed Inn" is the kind of novella that reminds me why I love short, cozy reads in the first place. Even within its brief page count, Ashley Clark manages to craft characters who feel fully formed—people whose fears, hopes, and quiet longings you can understand almost immediately. That’s no small feat in a novella, and it’s one of the reasons this story drew me in so quickly.
As with all good novellas, this one is a fast, satisfying read… but it still left me wanting more. In this case, that’s a compliment. I found myself wishing I could linger with these characters a little longer, explore their world a bit deeper, and soak up just a few more moments with them.
If you enjoy heartfelt, snowy, escape-for-an-afternoon stories with characters you can genuinely care about, "Snowed Inn" is a delightful pick.
Sent to a small town in Vermont to save a Influencer client who is tanking, Ivy and her dog Ginger are forced by a snowstorm to stop short of their destination. Good fortune awaits in the form of a grandmother who has a cabin and offers Ivy a place to stay. Her grandson, Luke, came to town early for Christmas and is also staying at his grandma's cabin. Although Ivy is loving the forced visit to this Hallmark worthy town, she is realizing that she doesn't like her client or her job. Little surprises along the way, gentle characters, and a sweet dog...sure to put you in the Christmas spirit!
A very cute and sappy Christmas story. Ivy finds herself stranded in a snowstorm and of course there’s no room at the end so she’s taken in by a grandmotherly lady. And then Mabel’s grandson Luke walks in. The attraction is pretty immediate, but neither is really looking for a relationship.
Luke has made some big changes in his life career wise coming home to care for his grandmother and do something he loves. Ivy is struggling with her career and the path she’s on. It’s not the one she wanted and she can’t figure out how to shift back to her goals.
This is a sweet story of love and a finding yourself in a very unexpected place.
I’ve been in the mood for short or fluffy holiday romances. I was given an early copy of this book to read and it was great for scratching that itch. The plot is very current to 2025 as the female protagonist's job includes running social media accounts.
My favorite part of the story was the setting and atmosphere. It was so cozy and bright and Christmasy. The descriptions of snow and the small town charm were very sweet and easy to picture.
In this book - Forced Proximity - Snow storm - Desire to kiss/interrupted kiss - Brief noticing of clothing - Briefly described kiss - Conspiring grandma - Short timeline
I absolutely loved this Christmas novella and read it in one sitting. I just couldn’t put it down. It has everything a reader could want. Small town, Christmas adventures, matchmaking, and of course clean romance.
Wonderful characters that include the perfect hero and his grandmother make this book a fun read. I highly recommend adding it to your Christmas reading!
I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review. All thoughts are my own.
This book was so cute and good! I loved Gran, Luke and Ivy a lot! Gran is hilarious trying to be a matchmaker. There’s funny moments, but also some deep moments as well! I highly recommend this novella! Some quotes I loved from the book
“That Luke looked like the hero in her favorite Hallmark movie.”
“But forgiveness isn’t about sweeping things under the rug, or even condoning a person’s behavior. It’s about releasing them, Luke. Releasing yourself, too.”
What a delightful Christmas novella!! I love matchmaking Grandmas and characters who don't mean to fall in love. Ivy Parker is sent to Vermont to handle her client's major PR problem. This isn't what she envisioned when she got into the business. Fortunately for her, she gets stranded in a snowstorm in a beautiful Christmasy small town with a delightful Grandma and her handsome grandson Luke, and gets to reevaluate her priorities. You will love this sweet feel-good story!
the story line for this was so cute! I loved Ivy and Luke. Gran was charming. Holly Hollow is the town you want to fall in love in. so why 3 stars.... it was to short. I wanted to see growth and in depth details of the characters pasts. I wanted more of Gran and the bookstore. I wanted more of Holly Hollow. Clark is a talented writer and I will definitely read more from her. Especially Holly Hollow.
