Goose Run #3

Chase Hooper Likes It Hot

Not yet published

Rate this book
Chase Hooper doesn’t like people, apart from his housemates and his twin brother Cash. He especially doesn’t like the hot guy who stops by Goose Run Gas in the middle of every night to interrupt his nap and tell him how terrible his coffee is.

Lee Torres is a baker, and the best and worst part of his morning is when he stops at the gas station for coffee. The coffee is awful, but the guy serving it is kind of cute, even if he’s blatantly hostile. Still, something keeps Lee coming back for more, and it’s certainly not the stale pastries.

When Chase and Lee are thrown together working at Goose Run’s newest entrepreneurial venture, it’s a chance for both of them to get what they need. For Chase, it means no more night shifts. For Lee, it means running his own bakery. They can both keep it professional, right?

Wrong.

Sparks fly, and things are getting heated in the kitchen, but if Lee thinks he's going to be allowed past the protective walls that Chase has spent a lifetime building, he can think again. Because Chase Hooper doesn’t do feelings.

If they’re not careful, this could be a recipe for disaster.

Welcome to Goose Run, a small town full of quirky characters, big personalities, and unexpected romances. Just don't ask about the goose.

This made me cry!!

I've known since book one that Cash was most likely to make me bawl my eyes out, but I stupidly thought that his twin Chase wouldn't - how wrong I was!!

Chase is super prickly with good reason, but it was heartbreaking seeing him struggle to accept that he could want things without someone using that to hurt him. I wanted to hug him and give him all the cookies 😭

Lee was so good for Chase though. It did kinda feel like Lee was swept away by Chase and was holding on for dear life, but in a good way... 😂 I loved when Lee described dating Chase as being on a rollercoaster with no seatbelt and it was on fire! Felt pretty damn accurate!!

There is some emotional turmoil for these two to go through, but I was so happy with where they ended up. Lee accepting Cash is a huge part of Chase was adorable and the bed thing had me smiling so hard.

The found family in this series is one of my favourites. Everyone supports each other and takes care of each other and it feels so wholesome, but they're all so snarky too! Lee's family were so fun as well and I loved how they all blended together so easily.

I have to say I'm super excited to see where Cash finds himself in his book. For a guy who rarely talks he is SO sassy and blunt and I love him already! I'm so curious about what his story will be 😍

Chase Hooper is such a damaged, untrusting, little feral kitten. Chase and his twin brother Cash grew up in a very abusive home where Chase always fought to protect Cash, and then Cash would patch him back up again. They are extremely codependent (much like the codependent twins Charlie and Andrew King in Lucky Hart's Kings of Heart series). I really like Chase's journey in this book, from feeling like it's him and Cash against the world to realizing he's had loving people he could trust all along (Danny, Wilder, Bobby, etc.). It's lovely seeing him with someone like Lee, who is so accepting and understanding, but doesn't tolerate his bullshit. I enjoyed this book and can't wait to read Cash's book.

Absolutely loved this. Chase and Cash made me both laugh and cry. What a beautiful, but heartbreaking read 😭💔

Don’t let the title fool you! While Chase Hooper Likes It Hot is packed with brilliant sharp edged banter, and laugh out loud moments, Sarah and Lisa definitely put my heart through the wringer before that HEA! 😭💔
My poor Hooper twins, whom I took under my wing immediately after they appeared in the first book. They didn’t just have a rough upbringing; as kids their upbringing out and out cruel. Their bond is strong, but it’s so sad to see them think it’s just the two of them battling against the entire world, never feeling part of it.
Chase is both temperamental and feisty. He hides behind sarcasm and a 'don’t you fecking touch me shield', and it’s all so funny, until you realise he’s terrified that if he stops talking and drops his shield, he’ll be screwed up and thrown away with the rubbish. Watching him struggle to let anyone in is absolutely heartbreaking 💔
And then there’s Lee! There's no cute meet between the guys, it's more of a laugh until you cry. Their chemistry is out of this world hot, but Chase’s self sabotage's so hard to watch. He just didn't dare commit, thinking he'll just end up being let down 🥺
Thank god for Cash stepping up for his twin! I think I cheered and applauded 👏🥳Between this and the absolute legends that are Wilder and Danny, Chase finally gets not only the stability he deserves, but also Lee. Him realising that he's actually being accepted for himself, and as part of this weird little family, is everything💓
Easily my favourite in the series so far! Now I’m just waiting with bated breath to see who is special enough to win Cash’s heart. He’s gonna need someone amazing 👨‍❤️‍💋‍👨

Protective Twins, neglected by their drug-addicted parents, watch out for each other

The Goose Run and its associated universes, created by the evidently skilled authors Lisa Henry and Sarah Honey, are a delight to explore, offering insights into the development, challenges, and successes of gay relationships. In this narrative, Chase Hooper remains on the overnight shift at Goose Run Gas, where he intentionally prepares poor-quality coffee and makes no apologies for the stale baked goods available for sale.

Chase and Cash are twins who, after fleeing from their abusive, meth-driven parents who neglect them, are rescued by Danny. The latter's grandmother permits them to stay at a residence where Danny resides with his boyfriend and other guests. Chase detests working the night shift for various reasons, including his protective instinct towards his twin brother, who experiences nightmares about their childhood.

Subsequently, when the town mayor establishes a bakery and hires a skilled baker from another town, he also recruits Chase to assist with coffee preparation. Chase gains approval to work at the bakery but soon discovers that the man serving him very poor coffee early in the morning is his new employer. Despite underlying friction, a mutual interest begins to develop between the two men. Chase remains devoted to his twin brother, while Lee is committed to his younger sister, who successfully battled cancer.

An undeniable chemistry exists, and soon, more than just coffee becomes a subject of interest. In a masterfully crafted narrative, the two grow involved with each other. However, a nightmare causes Cash to retreat into a closet for refuge, prompting Chase to reconsider his relationship with Lee and reaffirm that caring for his brother takes precedence.

Cash becomes aware that his closet incident led Chase to end their relationship. In recognition of his actions, Lee declines an offer to continue the physical aspects of their relationship, expressing a desire for intimacy only within the context of a committed relationship.

The story unfolds as typical of Lisa Henry and Sarah Honey’s work, featuring vividly written accounts of the dark periods the twins endured with their parents, contrasted with the joyful moments shared by Lee and Chase—moments now missed due to their separate suffering.

Set in a quirky town populated with eccentric characters previously introduced in earlier works, this is a masterfully told story that evokes deep emotional responses, highlighting the suffering endured by the twins and the lost opportunities for happiness among Lee and Chase. Ultimately, the narrative concludes with a positive ending in a town where these men are part of a community that supports one another.

Further installments in this storyline are anticipated, with another book announced. It is my hope that this captivating cast of characters continues to flourish together in future narratives.

I really love the Goose Run series and was dying to get my paws on this-- I checked no less than three times to see when arcs were being sent out, and once it arrived I dropped everything to dive straight in. This is compulsively readable and I read it super fast. I was so looking forward to getting to know Chase, and by extension, his brother Cash, as they remained somewhat mysterious in the first couple books, although there was obviously some kind of terrible home life they'd escaped.

Chase is my favourite sort of MC, he's permanently in feral cat mode and is prickly and defensive with most people. He doesn't know how to react to kindness and Lee being nice to him made me cry sometimes, it just broke my heart. Lee has the right combo of being kind without being a doormat, and it was great to see Chase gradually respond to his steadiness and patience.

While it's easy enough to infer some of Cash and Chase's history, it's not explicitly set out and there's only a few details. While I appreciated the series is meant to be light-hearted I would have appreciated going just a little deeper into their trauma. I loved the codependency and the absolute devotion between the brothers, and I appreciate Cash had a little more of the spotlight in this book. I loved how they had the same experience but responded completely differently, it felt deeply authentic.

I almost wish the book had been a bit longer. It's a long and slow process for Chase to start trusting Lee (as it should be) but the combination of his animosity and the third act breakup left quite a small percentage of the book when they were actually on good terms. It all made sense, but I would have liked a little more of them being happy on page. Looking forward to the bonus story to hopefully fulfil that.

Extra special mention for Lee having a thick waist and sturdy build, and Chase's deep appreciation of his physique. Love seeing a bigger guy who isn't a bear for once. Loved all the cameos from the first two books, and I really am thinking I'm gonna have to reread Danny Hall Gets a Lawyer soon. Can't wait for Cash's book as well, I've enjoyed this series so much. I really hope these authors keep writing in the same vein, something about the vibe of this series 100% works for me.

Really enjoyed. This is one of the better books by Henry & Honey. The character growth is immensely satisfying. Both Chase and Lee have struggles, but both also have people in their corners who champion them. These guys are in safe hands while working through their traumas toward something better together.

The book starts a bit slow, but gains momentum once the bakery gets going. This is also a slow burn romance with fast burn spice. The book is angsty, but it’s also full of warmth and irreverent humor. Lee’s family is hilarious and he does everything for them. He’s inspired by his grandmother’s baking and Philippine heritage, which he shares at the bakery.

There are heavy moments, but they are handled carefully. Chase and Cash have a deep trauma bond that understandably shapes the story. We learn so much about them and, by the end, treasure both while cheering for their small steps toward independence.

There is a T.A.B., which doesn’t come as a surprise. A highlight to me is the conversation the MCs have afterward. It feels like a pretty realistic talk, rather than perfect communication.

Some gripes:
I actually loved the story, but the ending feels incomplete. Lee and Chase deserve an ILU scene… cause it’s a romance book. 😅 I wanted more time with Cash and Lee to see them build an understanding. It’s a third-wheel relationship and that needs a special investment between Cash and Lee to make it work. Ordinarily, I’d gripe about the lack of a future vision for the MCs, but this series doesn’t do that in the epilogues. I really need the relationship (+ Cash) to feel solid, though. Lee and Chase only do two or three things as a couple and only date for… a few days? They do have some solid time as hookups, but the ending just feels too fast and tentative. I’d firmly call it a HFN.

Overall, I really enjoyed the story and can see myself reading it again in conjunction with the next book. I love Chase’s ridiculous, defiant snark and Lee’s extreme patience while jabbing right back. These very different guys are pretty delightful together.

I flipping love Goose Run. Returning to this wacky little town is a gleeful homecoming. Lisa Henry & J.A. Rock have created the most magical world - a town of big hearted weirdos and a goose with a heart full of vengeance. We met Chase Hooper (and his twin Cash) in Danny Hall Gets a Lawyer and learned more about Chase in John Wilder Gets Schooled. I was so excited to learn more about Chase and Cash and how they came to live with Danny & Wilder in the little house in Goose Run. Chase - the grumpiest grumpy guy who also happens to make the world’s worst coffee as part of his job and loves and protects his twin with a fierceness usually reserved for Lucille the Goose.

We love a black cat who thaws with the patience of a golden retriever. And Lee Torres is just that man to match Chase’s energy. Lee, who can’t NOT torment Chase at Goose Run Gas by asking for a terrible danish and even worse coffee. Lee who is a caretaker and nurturer and bakes like an angel. Lee who would be the perfect boyfriend, as long as you’re not Chase. Because Chase doesn’t need anyone. Right?

Oh, I want to wrap Chase up in the biggest hug and never let him go. His evolution is beautiful and spending more time with him, Danny, Wilder, Cash, and the rest of their growing found family is an absolute joy. Lisa Henry and JA Rock continue to enthrall me, writing characters that make me laugh and giggle as well as swoon. As these boys find themselves along with their Happy Ever Afters, I feel ridiculously pleased. Not gonna lie, I really want to go to Goose Run. I want to have spaghetti dinner at Avery’s. I want to visit with Gran and have a beer with Miller and Danny. I want to have biko with Lee and Chase. I’ll even babysit Gracie. But I dunno about that goose.

Beautiful third book in the Goose Run series, that finally gives us Chase's happy ending.

I've loved Chase and his twin brother Cash since the previous book: they have a strong bond, that helped them survive a rough childhood. The authors don't tell their whole story, but the details that slip here and there are tragic and very painful (I'll never look at a Transformer again without crying my eyes out).
Chase is closed off, almost rude, completely guarded, it took ages for him to trust Danny and Wilder, his best friends and the men he lives with. He reserves tenderness only for Cash and little Gracie. He sleeps every night cuddling his brother to protect him from the nightmares of their past.

His boss, (and mayor of the city) Bobby, offers him a job as a barista in his new bakery where Chase will have Lee as manager.
Lee has been stopping at Chase's old job for a while now, and they never stopped bickering and bantering: now, with the stress of launching a new business, there no space for Chase's attitude anymore and the two of them will have to work hard together to make things work.

The tension is simmering, though, until it explodes and they start having hate sex.

I really liked how their relationship evolved from being just a physical release to something more; I adore how Chase slowly started to open up to Lee and how Lee was able to read him and understand when Chase was implicitly asking for more.

I also appreciated very much that this book is not only focused on Chase and Lee's love story, but it also has space for Chase and Cash to talk about their bond and to become a little more independent from each other. And there's also the found family, their wonderful not blood related family, who is growing by adding more amazing men, like Miller, Avery and Lee.
I can't wait for Cash to have his own happy ending too.

I received an ARC of this book from the authors and this is my honest review.

Chase Hooper Likes It Hot is the 3rd in the Goose Run series by Lisa Henry and Sarah Honey. It was hot and funny while also being sweet. And I loved it.

We have seen Chase throughout the first 2 books of the series. We learned earlier that him and his twin, Cash, live with Danny and Wilder. He is working the graveyard shift at the gas station. Lee is new to us and Goose Run.

When the mayor Bobby opens a bakery in Goose Run, Lee and his former co-worker sign on. Chase wants to get away from the graveyard shift so he started at the bakery. Lee used to stop in to the gas station really early on his way to work and him and Chase would bicker every time.

Now that they are working together, these two crash into each other. It starts as sort-of friends with benefits, to friends with benefits, to boyfriends. We were told that Chase had a very difficult childhood, but we also learn that Lee struggled as well. While Chase puts up all the walls, Lee lets everyone in and takes care of them. This is one of the reasons they are perfect for each other. As time progresses, Chase begins to open up.

The way Chase brought Lee to his bedroom made me swoon and realize that by Lee just being there broke down Chase’s walls. And that’s the key to Chase. Just being there.

I love how we are getting to know Cash through Chase’s story. It’s giving us so much of Cash without him having to say much.

I had some genuine snort laughing moments. I would have loved to have seem Lee interact with the roommates a bit more.

Please read the content warnings. There is discussion of a parent's death, abuse, and illness of a family member.

Steam: 4/5
Fun: 4/5
Overall: 4/5

Wow, I really enjoyed this one. Couldn't put it down (I received the arc this morning and finished it this evening).

This time it's Chase's turn. He's working the night shift at the gas station, hating the world and most of the people in it, when a new guy starts coming in every morning around 3am. They insult each other each time, but Chase starts to hate him a little less as time goes on. Then, suddenly, he's no longer coming in any longer. In the meantime, Chase asks mayor/gas station owner Bobby if he can get off the night shift (Cash isn't doing well with Chase being gone every night). Bobby agrees, if he wants a new job at the new bakery he's starting up. When Chase arrives for work, he finds that the baker/manager of the new bakery is Lee, the guy from the gas station. And the romance begins. It's not an easy road, of course, Chase being who he is.

Chase and Cash had a horrible childhood and are dependent on each other to the point where Chase feels Cash comes first - this makes his romance with Lee rocky. Chase has extreme trust issues thanks to that childhood (whereas Cash has horrible nightmares). Lots of feels in this book - Chase's background is so sad, and the way it still affects him makes his life so much more difficult.

This is found family, medium spice, pretty angsty in spots, and a whole lot of fun. I love Goose Run and all the people in it, I love the Danny & Wilder & their partners. And I look forward to the next book in the series.

The Goose Run series is three quarters done."Chase Hooper Likes it Hot", book three was not an easy read. Lee's comparison of Chase to a feral cat is spot on. As are the content warnings in the author's note. This was a heartwrencher. The third act breakup had me sobbing.
The night shift guy at Goose Run Gas (Chase Hooper) was surly and an awful barista. But the gas station was the only place open at the obscene hour Brown Jacket Guy (Lee Turner) needed to be at work. So he drank the sludge-not an-Americano Chase made him. All the while complaining about the limp, stale pastries in the case. They clashed every dawn, Chase absolutely vicious at times. It was the best part of their day.
A chance meetup with Goose Run mayor, Bobby Merritt, and his goose, Lucille, has Lee excepting a job at Bobby's newest venture, the Gobble de Goose bakery. Bobby provided "the best barista I know". Chase Hooper. Oh, no. Kissing leads to some of the hottest angry/enemies sex I've ever read. Thank goodness all the kitchen surfaces were stainless steel.
Chase's transformation from angry feral cat to hopeful boyfriend, had me in tears. A lot. Learning to trust another person was a rollercoaster with no brakes ride. Lee was always respectful, excepting Chase's wary step forward, two steps back approach to love.
Cash is the last unpartnered roommate. Seeing the world from Chase's point of view was hard. I have a feeling that Cash's tale might darn near kill me.

I’ve had a soft spot for Chase since the beginning of this series. The contrast between his prickly stand-offish attitude to the world and the tenderness he displays around his brother drew me in. Chase works the night shift at the gas station because his customer service skills are less than horrible, but feels like he needs to be back on day shifts to be there for his brother, Cash. When Bobby says that he can’t move him to days, he offers him a job at the new cafe that he is opening. While Chase can’t make coffee to save his life, Bobby seems to think Chase is the best barista there is.

What Chase doesn’t realize is that Lee, the customer he has been butting heads with at the station, is the new baker/manager of the cafe. The two bicker and the tension is obvious to both of them (and the other employee) and their whole relationship was described perfectly by Lee - a roller coaster that’s on fire. While Less is good for Chase, I loved how this book portrayed Cash and that it showed just how deep Cash’s love of Chase is for him to go and explain some things about their past to Lee. The scene with the beds at the end of the book showed just how much Lee understood how important the brothers are to each other and that it wasn’t an issue for him.

This book had me laughing and crying and I can’t wait to come back to Goose Run to see Cash’s story.

I received an ARC from the author and this is my honest opinion.

Finally, we get Chase!! Chase and Cash have always held a special place in my heart since book one and honestly it’s because I’m soooooo down for a broken fictional boy. 😩

Chase & Lee?? We’re perfect for one another.
Lee knew. He KNEW what that Chase needed time, patience but he also knew when he needed to get rough with him & fxck it was amazing.
& Chase?! Gahhh 😭 he really thought he didn’t deserve anything good! Fxck I broke fr.

I wanted more! I needed more Chase & Lee, more Cash, more everyone (even Bobby)!!! Which BTW the REAL MVP of this series? It’s Bobby! The way he gave these boys opportunities and knew exactly what they needed without interfering! Gah also I’m so fxckn curious about Bobby

Lisa Henry & Sarah Honey make me fall in love with EVERY side character they write! They give me little nuggets of each character and I’m always so curious as to what’s going on with their fictional lives! Lol like is Bobby single, Did Lee ever sell his Filipino pastries, did Tyler learn how to make Biko on his own, did Chase ever get a new jacket?! Like so many questionsssss 😩

Lisa Henry & Sarah Honey write found family like no other!! Seeing Danny & Wilder & everyone in the goose run universe (even Bobby) felt like coming home.

thank you to Lisa Henry, Sarah Honey, & team for this ARC. & as always are thoughts and opinions are my own.

Going into the third installment of the Goose Run series, you got a feeling Chase & Cash did not have an easy childhood. Oh boy, you are not prepared for the lengths these two will go to protect one another. That is their default and it's understandable it takes a special person like Lee to work past these ever-strong barriers. Lee isn't sure what to think of Chase Hooper but cannot help but be drawn to this angry kitten of a man. Slowly these two build a relationship, yes they make mistakes, but who doesn't? Yet, with these mistakes they grow each time and that is why you feel the hope of them building something lasting. They have an undeniable chemistry that brings them together in the beginning but it's their bond that in the end keeps them together. The found family aspect of this series is what will keep having you come for more, their bonds and love for one another is a magical thing to see and you feel how much each of these characters needs the other, even when they aren't always the best at expressing those feelings. With Cash's story on the horizon, I cannot wait to see how not only Cash, but Chase handles him finding someone to help slay his demons.

Chase Hooper is a smidge touchy and Lee seems to push his buttons exquisitely. This small town romance has some of the best animosity I have read in a while, laugh out loud funny friction.

Chase also made my heart literally hurt. I cried more than I expected tbh, Cash and a Chase’s childhood is heartbreaking, thank god for Danny. That’s the thing when these authors collab it’s magic, beautiful heartfelt witty love stories with characters you absolutely love.

This is at it’s core a beautiful hurt comfort love story surrounded by found family bonds in a lovely small town full of some wonderful (and not so wonderful) people.

Lee and Chase rub each other the wrong way from the get go - Chase is feral and Lee is warm though perplexed and this makes for some very hot chemistry between the two. They start with an “arrangement” and then Lee fights for their HEA, when Chase goes after what he wants with Lee I jumped with joy.

I loved Cash, I can’t wait for his story.

Have you started this series? If not don’t wait on it

My sincere thanks to @sarah and @lisa for the opportunity to read this book in advance it is just wonderful, this series is phenomenal.

CHASE HOOPER LIKES IT HOT is the third in Lisa Henry and Sarah Honey’s Goose Run series. Chase Hooper is kind of a bristly jerk and he knows it. It’s the only way he knows to be, given how he’s spent his life to date doing his best to protect his twin, Cash, and now the small group of guys who have essentially become brothers. He doesn’t know what to make of Lee Torres, a guy who comes in to buy gas and bad coffee and stays to prod half hearted arguments over stale pastries. And when they become coworkers of sorts, that really shakes things up…

Sarah Honey and Lisa Henry continue their stay in Goose Run with this warm, compassionate look at two imperfect people fumbling and finding their way to living life better than they’ve dared to consider could be theirs. An ultimately joyful reminder that while all of us are products of our upbringings and pasts, those do not condemn us to remaining as we are. Wanting more is not only okay, it can be the best part of finding the life you’re meant to live, with people you’re meant to enjoy that life with. A beautifully hopeful story.

Cinnamon roll baker wins the heart of man who's shut himself off from love. Chase works the night shift at Goose Run Gas, he's surly on the best of days but Brown Jacket Guy sends him into a rage on a nightly basis. Who complains about the coffee and pasteries available at the gas station in the middle of the night?! Lee has to be at work so early that Goose Run Gas is the only place open to get his coffee. And it is kind of fun to rage bait the grumpy clerk. Chase and his twin brother had an extremely traumtic childhood that has left them very codependent. When Chase needs a change of shift in order to be there more for Cash, he ends up the new barista at the bakery managed by Brown Jacket Guy, Lee. Banter and proximity turns up the heat between them until it flares to life. It was frustrating sometimes to read Chase's POV, but he worked through it so well that it ended up being very satisfying. Lee is so patient and caring that he is a joy to read. There were enough funny bits to offset the darker themes from Chase's past. I really enjoyed it and would recommend,

Well this gave me some feels.

I’ll start this off by saying that the dedication page was where I had my first laugh out loud moment. It was not the last but there’s more to this wonderful story than giggles, there’s also the feels that made me take a deep breath and had my heart breaking for Chase and his twin Case. Their backstory is not an easy one but it did shape them into the men they are. Chase really is an antisocial prickly and angry young man with very good reason. Lee slowly but surely draws out the softer side of Chase as they morph from casual to boyfriends and he even receives the odd smile from Chase and the chance to cuddle. Of course with many HEA’s there is a bit of a hiccup along the way but nothing a bit of honest communication can’t fix. Bobby and Lucille make their appearances as do the boys and Gracie from previous books. They all add to this very enjoyable and entertaining read that left me with a happy heart and sappy smile at the end.

This is the third in the Goose Run series and while I’ve loved them all so far, Chase Hooper Likes It Hot absolutely stole my heart, kidnapped it and held it for ransom until the last page. My heartstrings were tugged. It’s a hurt/comfort read that rings true and beautiful in its own pothole-riddled way.

Chase and his identical twin brother come from a rough background and he’s built his walls so thick and high no one can get in. Lee is his difficult customer-turned-eventual-boss who has a heart of gold, but it’s hard to show when Chase’s defenses are constantly up. Lee has his own past issues that helps him understand Chase’s attachment to his twin, but Chase is just stubborn enough not to accept someone can empathize with him.

I read this greedily and it makes me very eager for the next in the series. Chase is so very caring under his prickly exterior and Lee is a treasure. They both deserve all the HEA!

Chase (and his twin brother, Cash) gets my attention from the previous books. I know that they didn't have a happy upbringing - it was mentioned several times, and the twin had two contrast behaviors when it comes to dealing with people. So I am happy to read Chase's story for happiness here (and can't wait for Cash's story next)

I thought it was hilarious that Lee kept coming back for Chase's BAD COFFEE. It was also fun to read how Lee and Chase ended up working together. I liked how Lee deal with Chase's fear of trusting other people. I liked how Chase owned up to it.

Yes, these two are great!!

PS: I pre-ordered this from Lisa Henry Shop so I received it early (that's the perk of direct sales). This is NOT an advance review copy in any way.

This book completely caught me off guard emotionally. Absolutely loved the MC's with Chase who is prickly, closed-off and clearly shaped by past hurt but I enjoyed watching him slowly let Lee past his defences though it was both painful yet deeply satisfying. His journey towards believing he deserves good things really hit home. Then there was Lee who was the perfect counterbalance being warm, patient, and steady even when things got messy. Their chemistry was so good, but the emotional growth and the way found family wrapped around them really made the story shine. Tender, funny, and quietly powerful, this one will definately stay with me for a while!
I received a free arc copy and this is my honest review

Oh, Chase 😭 I knew his story was going to be a sad one, but I’m glad it was still uplifting and ended on a happy note.

Chase and Lee were really perfect for each other. Chase with his impossible high walls and prickly attitude, and Lee, knowing what he wanted and refusing to settle for less. It was great seeing how their relationship grew and developed against all odds, and how Chase started to learn to accept that good things can happen.

It was really nice to see Danny and Wilder again, and Bobby, with his unhinged and crazy attitude, will forever have a special place in my heart. And I know it's not necessary, but I hope Cash gets his own HEA soon.

Thank you to Lisa Henry & Sara Honey for the arc!

I just love seeing the boys from Goose Run find their happily ever afters! And no one deserves it more than the twins. This is Chase's story, and it was spicy, sweet, and full of so many delicious baked goods I had to take myself to a bakery for a treat! The found family that these boys have created is so lovely, and watching Chase learn to not only trust in them, but also in himself was wonderful. As always, these two authors manage to meld spice, heart, and so much humor to make a truly delightful read!

And the dedication! :D

To Chris the baker, who understood the assignment and told us that two sacks of flour weighs about the same as one twink.

I really enjoyed returning to Goose Run for this third installment in the series. The story is filled with these authors' trademark snarky banter and clever humor, but also touched upon the damage caused by child abuse. Chase and Cash are a bit of a joint package, and in Lee Chase found an understanding partner, his perfect match. It was pretty great spending more time with all of the well-developed side characters in this chaotic small town. Next will be the book I've been waiting for since the beginning: Cash's story. Don't miss this fun series!

Back in Goose Run. I love these guys - I had to force myself to put this down, I was so enthralled with the story.

I loved this pairing. Chase is a prickly, cranky, scared character, though absolutely hilarious at times. Lee is gorgeous, I loved his family also, his compassionate personality and the back and forth with Chase.

The story gets quite emotional in parts, but there’s also a stack of laughs, good interaction with Chase’s friends and housemates and some really good spice.

A beautiful, heartfelt story - my favourite in the series.

I absolutely love everything these 2 authors write and this was no exception. Goose Run is such a fun, quirky little town and a book set in a new bakery right in the middle of it? Heck yes! Chase is angry and snarky, but Lee thinks it's worth trying to get past his defences. A hot romance with lots of quirky fun and touching moments, as we find out a bit more of Chase and Cash's back-story. Hope Cash gets a book next, I am there for it! Read the whole series, it doesn't disappoint.

I enjoyed this story. Chase was like a skittish kitten, didn’t trust easily, was grumpy and didn’t know how to make coffee in a gas bar. Lee is a baker who has lots of patience for someone like Chase. It was a great read.

It hit all the feels! The hurt and comfort was so good. I cried. We delve deeper into Chase and Cash’s backstory. I love the introduction of a new bakery.

I love this one out of all the stories thus far.
