After Katerina’s trip to the Cursed Kingdom to steal the first item for Dania’s lifesaving potion, Maeve is forced to take on the next task: to steal two pairs of wings. Traveling to the Fae Kingdom is hard enough, with cunning ogres on her back and snappy fae watching her every move, but sneaking into The Vault Of Lost Wings proves to be a challenge nearly fetal.
After befriending a fae named Ruby, Maeve explores part of the cruel world that lives separate from the rest of the realm. Its breathtaking land a stark contrast against the ruthlessness of the winged creatures. Cruel royals roam the land, and with secrets swirling inside of Maeve’s head, she is a moving target.
When Maeve’s plan of breaking into The Vault Of Lost Wings rolls out, unexpected forces threaten to turn enemies into allies. But there’s one problem: Maeve trusts no one—least of all men. And fate has a cruel sense of humor, because the only person who can help her is exactly that.
This book starts directly where the first book ended, so I would definitely reccomend reading them back to back.
This book gives us more backstory about Maeve and Dania, which I loved. Fluff is just adorable and I love him (please don't kill her Bo, I'm begging you)
It was very fast paced and I couldnt put it down. My only complaint is that it could've been longer and that's a good thing. I just want to spend more time with Maeve🥹 I loved her so much more than I expected to!
It was very magical, dare I say it gave me some Stephanie Garber vibes? But then with dragons and more death😂
Okay, phew! O.M.G. I need you all to sit your bottoms down while I tell you about this book. Cause this one is insane! Absolutely utterly insane and the way Bo Salem cooked with this book, God🤭🤧
I am obsessed with her characters! First of she portrays everything with such a genuine feelings like can you imagine trying to like a character you hated from the start.🤨. EXACTLY I AM TALKING ABOUT THE FAE PRINCE. I hated him so much. Like so much.
And my poor, Maeve, she is so kind and polite and the way she almost got betrayed by Ruby. Like can just everyone let Maeve breathe, she is here trying to save her sister and what you people want, trying to uncover her disguise?! What is wrong with you.🤨🙄😭
But then when Ruby helped her out, I breathed a sigh of relief. The book was such an adventurous read, like it has everything—comedy, action, emotions. Oh the way Author described those emotions.🤌🏻✨️
And now let's come to my favorite part. The stealing part. The Heist. O.M.G. The pipe part. Do you know that I read this one in one sitting. Like it was such a part. GOD I AM OBSESSED. AND NOT TO FORGET THE PART WHERE I MELTED. EVERYONE LISTEN CLOSE—HE, THE CROWN PRINCE DIDN'T HURT HER. 😳🤧 YES, THE CROWN PRINCE DIDN'T HURT HER AND ANOTHER PRINCE HEALED HER TWICE. MY GIRL BAGGED TWO PRINCES AT ONCE!!!🦢🤍
AND THE ENDING O.M.G. I AM SO EXCITED TO READ BOOK 3 WANT TO WATCH KATERINA'S REACTION AND ACTION!!!! I LOVE THIS BOOK! DEAR AUTHOR, I LOVE YOUR WORK!!!!
We immediately dive into the story where book 1 finished and omg, there was so much more depth. Maeve (human) travels to the Fae kingdom while she sips potions that transforms her into a Fae. The entire story, she has different adventures.
First, she’s almost eaten by Ogres. Then in the Fae kingdom she’s becoming friends with a Fae, watching dragon fights and she also bonds with a Flickerfox. Let’s not forget the grumpy Royal Fae because, WHY NOT MEET A PRINCE WHILE UR THERE 🙂↔️?!?!?
Like I said, much more depth because my heart punched. I felt betrayed, I felt anger, I felt sadness, I loved it hehehe. Katerina and Maeve are both badass in their own way. I looove how Maeve is such a caretaker of her sister.
I so hope Maeve will have an opportunity to kick the Queen in her face (iykyk). AND WHATSUP WITH THE CROWN PRINCE? Hello!!! I need answers!!!
Also, without saying spoilers, can we pls go back to the cursed kingdom and get something back (or someone) 😮💨…..
Not much world building or difficult settings, which makes the story easy to follow and very suitable for the YA genre.
Happy to have received another Arc in the series and cannot wait to read the rest, because the CLIFFHANGER?!? BO!!!!!!!!
🌹 Will Maeve be able to pull off the heist of her life or will her kind heart be the death of her? 🌹
🌹The second instalment of Bo Salem's The Kingdom's Greatest Treasures series was packed with tension, twists, and thrills. I just had to know what happened next.🌹
🌹 The Wings of a Fae follows Maeve on her journey to the Fae Kingdom where she attempts a seemingly impossible heist to save her little sister.🌹 While Maeve learns to navigate a cruel world where nothing is what it seems, the line between who she can trust and who wants her dead becomes more and more blurred.🌹 Even though she is kind-hearted, she can be incredibly feisty and determined when necessary.🌹 I related to her as a parentified older sister who turns to food for comfort and cannot wait to see her grow more into herself as the series unfolds.🌹
🌹 The absolute cliff-hanger ending of this book has me eagerly awaiting book 3... 🌹
This is book 2 of the serie called: The kingdom's greatest treasures. And that is what these books are about. Getting the hands on the most important item of each of the kingdoms realms.
In this book we follow Meave. Her little sister is sick. So she sets out on a all important trip to the fae. Her task is to steal fae wings. But can she -a human- blend in with the fae, while taking a potion to look like one of them.
Wow this book is so good. I loved the first book. But this is even better. How innocent Maeve is in this harsh world. Her character and the pet companions. I love Fluff ❤️ This book gets ⭐⭐⭐⭐💫 stars. Because men this end. I can not survive without answers.
We are just a few weeks out from release and I'm thrilled to share the next book in this series with you! It's fun, packed with adventure, filled with angst and lots of banter. After this, there will be two more books until the series is finished, and I promise you, this ending will make you want book three, hehe!
Happy reading for everyone who has an ARC, and for the rest of you, just a few more weeks!
This sequel picks up right where The Skin of a Soulless left off, and it wastes no time throwing Maeve into danger. Her task to steal two pairs of wings from the Fae Kingdom is as impossible as it sounds, and Bo Salem leans into that suspense beautifully. It feels very classic quest fantasy, but it's filled with danger, and a touch of cruelty that makes the fae feel genuinely unsettling.
I received an ARC of this and really enjoyed it. The fae lands are beautiful but merciless, and Maeve’s alliance with Ruby adds both warmth and complication to the journey.
My only wish? That it had been longer. I would’ve loved more time to sit with the characters before it was over. Still, it’s a strong continuation of the series that left me eager for whatever Salem has planned next!
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book — I simply couldn't put it down! This time, Maeve must travel to the Fae Kingdom to steal wings in order to save her little sister. I loved that Maeve is softer than Katerina, and this book shows that it's sometimes better to be a gentler character. I really liked the characters she encountered and the friendships she formed. Having finished this book, I am very excited for the next one in the series!
