The third book in the Never Too Late to Play series.
Julianna always said size didn’t matter. She fell for charm, wit, and good conversation first. But ever since she and Stephen opened their marriage to new experiences, her world—and her imagination—have expanded in ways she never expected.
Now, in Washington, D.C., Stephen joins Julianna at the end of her conference for something they’ve never tried three dates with three very different men, each offering his own kind of temptation… and one of them is very big.
A Matter of Size follows Julianna and Stephen as they continue their late-in-life exploration of desire, boundaries, and connection—and discover that it’s never too late to find out what truly turns you on.
A matter of Size is the third book published in the Never Too Late to Play Series. As expected, this sequel is beautifully written by Author Wright. There are a number of steamy encounters which Stephen is able to observe, plus Julianna and Stephen have some very steamy scenes on their own. And the table is set for some continuing intrigue.
Julianna is offered a threesome (maybe swap/foursome) with another couple. She pulls back and asks:
“… Doesn’t it ever get complicated?” Leah and Oliver glanced at each other like they’d had this conversation all the time. “Of course it does. But so does monogamy. We’d rather choose our complications, …”
“ … They knew what they wanted, and weren’t afraid to express it in front of each other.”
It’ll be interesting to see if Leah and Oliver’s offer is taken up in subsequent books?
Julianna and Stephen have a very strong relationship and a very good intimate life together. Clearly Stephen has a high level of compersion for his wife:
“I was here in the room. I knew that you weren’t going anywhere, so I just got to sit back and watch the most important person in my life experience something totally off-the-charts.”
And when it’s just them:
“Her hips lifted to meet him. The ache melted into warmth, into connection, into something deeper than last night’s reckless frenzy.”
It will be interesting to see if Julianna develops the same compersion for Stephen as he has for her?
My only comments are that’s
(i) it’s all totally consensual - so there’s no fireworks or angst - and it doesn’t look like there will be any,
(ii) the character development is modest - they’re mostly focused on the next encounter, and
(iii) there’s no story outside of the encounters, or the planning for them.
The first book in the series was close to 200 pages. The second and third instalments, about 85 pages. Together, they show a middle ages couple (60 & 55) adding considerable spice to their lives. I’ll be interested to see how they expand their horizons from here.
This is the third book in the series, however, according to the author, it's the fifth episode.
The first book is a compilation of three shorter chapters. They were trimmed to avoid the recaps normally found with serial episode offerings. The second and third books, are a continuation.
The hottest sections are between Julianna and Stephen. They discuss prospects and review playdates as he reclaims her and they fantasize together. Most writers use a plot and storyline like this to showcase one bedroom scene after another. That's not the case, here. The primary motivation with this story, is the relationship between husband and wife. She listens and adopts her husbands fantasy in a effort to please him. She didn't expect to like it.
That's not to say there's no heat here. There is. But the couples relationship is the primary focus.
The way he presents this couple, and their continuing 'play' offers hope that this will be a regular target as they continue the path to genuine wife sharing. However, In genuine 'Wife Sharing", hubby gets wet. He does a lot more than just sit in the corner.
After finishing “A matter of Size’, Mr Wright has developed the couple beautifully. Julianna made rules, and while drunk, broke them. They have realized the potential dangers and resolved how to safely enjoy this lifestyle together.
We have been introduced to several lovers, and a host of potential lovers. The stage is now set for a string of serials. They are now ready to play with both spouses in the room. Since Stephen is not a cuckold,... the secondary heat of reclaiming her will advance to completely sharing her with three or more and Hubby part of the party.
my only criticism: I was somewhat disappointed that they brought Zane back for a second visit,.. this time with Stephen in the room, but he didn't spend the night. All of her lovers seem to play a quick game of tag and they're done. Mr Wright, please let her lovers have enough stamina to last them through the night. Since they're planning weeks in advance, why not factor STD tests into the criteria. That would allow barefooting.
I have serious hopes that this will progress more deeply than Bullseye’s five volumes. The teases she received to spend a vacation of sex on a yacht in the Caymans,.. Is just the first of many,.,... I hope. This has genuine potential for becoming an episodic masterpiece.
Brilliant concept and the books bring it to life. Hopefully, with men with more stamina, and I hope Mr Wright will showcase the entire night, and not just the first hour.
