Please note this review is only for “Snowed In With My Best Friend” by Carrie Ann Ryan, part of this anthology.

Super short and steamy, Snowed In With My Best Friend features Posy, a self-professed homebody and introvert who narrates audiobooks for a living, and Cullen, who’s for years worked for their mutual friends the Montgomerys.

After leaving a Christmas party in Fort Collins, Colorado to get to their respective parents’ homes in Wyoming, Cullen offers to drive Posy when her car won’t start.

A couple of hours down the road, a snowstorm shuts down their hopes of getting to their destinations safely, so the pair find refuge in a cabin for the rest of the night.

Being in such a cozy place has the couple reevaluating their relationship and sparks fly, but in the morning will they return to just being friends?

I received an advance reader copy from the author, and I’m sharing my honest review.

4 Star Review Holiday Friend Zones Anthology by Carrie Ann Ryan, Emily Silver, Claire Hastings, Lily Miller, Claudia Burgoa, Gia Stevens and Piper Rayne

These reviews are for:

Chasing Christmas (Plain Daisy Ranch) by Piper Rayne
Chasing Christmas is certainly a book that will get you in the holiday spirit. It’s witty, fast paced with characters whose story you cannot help but be drawn into.

Saylor and Luke’s journey is not without its challenges but it made for an entertaining read.

From Friends To Forever by Claudia Burgoa
From Friends To Forever was certainly a story that moved me to tears in a number of occasions.

This is Willow and Roman’s friends to lovers story. It was an emotional read that got to me on a number of levels.

Christmas is an emotional time particularly for those whose love ones are no longer with them and this is at the heart of this story.

I received a review copy and these are my thoughts:

I really enjoyed this collection of short stories. I LOVE friends/childhood friends to lovers so this was like taking a child into a candy shop! They were all very sweet, spicy and full of “feelings” - deep rooted love and lots of yearning!

> Mini Reviews of each story:

- Snowed in with my best friend by Carrie Anne Ryan - 3.5/5 - spice: 2.5/5

Short and sweet, friends who don’t want to lose each other but can’t deny their feelings any longer. Snowed in, spicy one bed. Super sweet epilogue. Divorced MCs in their 30s.

- Tequila and Cowboys by Emily Silver - 3/5 - Spice: 2.5/5

Best friend’s brother, secret relationship, steamy bar encounter. Short and cute.

- My kind of trouble by Claire Hastings - 4/5 - Spice: 2.5/5

Childhood best friends, marriage of convenience/elopement. This was so cute! Kyra & Davis had incredible chemistry! I held my breath with the little mishap but really enjoyed how they patched things up.

- Mistletoe Match by Lily Miller - 3.5/5 - Spice: 2.5/

Childhood best friends, alone at Christmas. Town games/competition for couples (faking it). Delicious slow burn & a “it’s now or never/f*k it” moment.

- From friends to forever: Holiday edition by Claudia Burgoa - 4.5/5 - Spice: 2/5

Childhood friends, grief rep. Loved this story! Would have read a full-length novel about Roman & Willow. Cosy, beautifully written chemistry & tension. They won my heart!

- Something about Yule by Gia Stevens - 3.5/5 - Spice: 2/5

Cute. Forced proximity, roommates, 3rd act hiccup, heartfelt love confession, MCs had great chemistry.

- Chasing Christmas by Piper Rayne - 3.5/5 - Spice: 2/5

Childhood best friends, it’s always been you, forced proximity. The yearning on his part was heart melting.

Readers who enjoy friends-to-lovers romances will appreciate the Holiday Friend Zones anthology. Sweet, spicy, and humorous, these stories are also emotionally engaging. They deliver a satisfying mix of warmth, charm, and heartfelt moments.

Snowed in with My Best Friend by Carrie Ann Ryan

Snowed in with My Best Friend by Carrie Ann Ryan follows Posey and Cullen’s journey from long-time friends to something much deeper. Readers familiar with the Montgomery Ink Legacy series will recognize the pair from previous installments, where their chemistry quietly simmered beneath the surface.

Recently, Cullen’s feelings for Posey have shifted beyond friendship, yet fear of jeopardizing their bond kept him silent. A well-timed mistletoe, however, created the perfect moment for their first kiss. While that spark set everything in motion, it was the snowed-in road trip that allowed their connection to ignite and their passion to burn hot.

A short, spicy, and sweet read.

Tequila and Cowboys by Emily Silver

Meet Rylee and Chase. Chase is a bartender—and the brother of Rylee’s best friend. Rylee has been crushing on him for a long time but kept her feelings hidden out of concern for her best friend. After being away for a while, she’s finally back, determined to take a chance on what she truly wants. What she doesn’t realize is that she won’t have to try very hard.

Let the fun and sexy times begin.

My Kind of Trouble by Claire Hastings

My Kind of Trouble by Claire Hastings delivers a charming blend of the friends-to-lovers and marriage-of-convenience tropes. Davis and Kyra have been inseparable since childhood, bound by a deep trust that has always defined their relationship. So, when Davis calls and tells Kyra they need to get married to protect her investment, she does not hesitate. She has always loved him and marrying him would hardly be a burden. However, the interference of a meddling sibling soon has Kyra questioning his true motives.

This was an absolutely adorable story from beginning to end. Kyra and Davis share an authentic, heartfelt connection that makes their journey compelling and easy to root for. Readers will find themselves fully invested and cheering for their happily-ever-after.

Mistletoe Match by Lilly Miller

Ava returned home hoping to heal from a broken heart, and waiting in the wings was Liam, her childhood best friend. When a broken thermostat and frozen pipes rendered Ava’s house unlivable, Liam quickly convinced her to stay with him. Soon after, he persuaded her to pretend to be his girlfriend so they could enter the Mistletoe Match game together.

What follows is a warm, engaging story in which both characters discover that transitioning from friends to lovers is nothing to fear—especially when they have been in love with each other all along.

From Friends to Forever by Claudia Burgoa

From Friends to Forever was an absolutely adorable read. Willow and Roman’s twenty-year friendship is pushed to its ultimate test, and watching it unfold is both heartwarming and entertaining. These two have been quietly crazy about each other for years, but the fear of ruining their bond kept them from ever taking that leap.

Determined to finally go after what she wants; Willow embarks on a mission to flirt her way into Roman’s attention. Her attempts are often hilarious—sweet, awkward, and completely transparent to Roman, who sees right through every one of them. Still, her efforts make their slow-burn chemistry even more enjoyable.

What truly shines in this story is how genuine their love is. Every interaction reflects a deep connection built over decades. All that stands in their way is the fear of losing the most important relationship either of them has ever had.

If only they could conquer those fears, they might finally discover the future that has been waiting for them all along.

Something About Yule by Gia Stevens

Lauren is the Assistant Coordinator for the Holly Jolly Festival, and she’s determined to make sure everything goes according to plan. When a plumbing disaster leaves her without water and essentially homeless for a while, her best friend Eli immediately steps in and offers her a place to stay. With Lauren settling into his home, the two find themselves spending a lot more time together and diving into all the holiday activities—even though Eli isn’t the festive type and Lauren brings enough holiday cheer for them both.

This is a sweet friends-to-lovers story with just the right amount of spice to keep things interesting.

Chasing Christmas by Piper Rayne

Chasing Christmas gives readers Saylor and Luke’s story. These two grew up as neighbors and best friends, inseparable throughout childhood. Everything changed when Saylor moved away with Luke’s best friend, Tyler. Now she’s back home, nursing a broken heart after Tyler dumps her. Luke steps in immediately, offering the kind of comfort only a best friend can give. But when an unexpected kiss shifts everything between them, Saylor panics and starts avoiding him altogether.

Their friends and coworkers decide they’ve had enough and play matchmaker, determined to push Saylor and Luke to confront their feelings. Their efforts don’t quite break through the pair’s stubbornness—at least not until a blizzard and a power outage trap Saylor and Luke under the same roof. With nowhere to hide, their long-buried chemistry finally comes to the surface.

An enjoyable, cozy read that will be a hit for fans of friends-to-lovers romance.

Holiday Friend Zones Anthology
By: Lily Miller, Carrie-Ann Ryan, Emily Silver, Claire Hastings, Claudia Burgoa, Gia Stevens, and Piper Rayne

Snowed in with my Best Friend - By Carrie Ann Ryan
Perfect way to start off the anthology… we have Cullen and Posy snowed in on a road trip. I love the forced proximity… obsessed with the one bed trope and give me allllll the “fuck it” moments. This story was sweet and so believable and I just noticed is part of Carrie Ann’s Montgomery Ink series… definitely adding to my TBR.

Tequila & Cowboys - By Emily Silver
This one brought me right back into my early 20s… girls nights out at the country bar, dancing your ass off and flirting with cute bartenders? Except in this one, that bartender is Chase who happens to be Rylie’s best friend’s brother. This one had all those small town feels with a side of cowboys. This book is one of the first I remember in a long time where the FMC initiates all the spicy times. I think this book wins for spiciest in the anthology… very yummy.

My Kind of Trouble - By Claire Hastings-
This one starts out so fast… literally blink and you’ll miss the chapter one proposal. I love a good fake dating trope. I also love a secret (til the last minute) courthouse wedding without the traditional dress etc (at least that’s the plan). Kira and Davis were childhood friends who enter into a marriage of convenience… I loved the blonde/brunette/redhead sister energy.. I wanted so much more of the sisters, loved their energy.
This one was also a good level of spicy… give me all of the “good girl”s.

Mistletoe Match -By Lily Miller
I think this is my fave of the whole anthology… Liam and Ava are childhood friends essentially thrown into fake dating all in hope of winning their Mistletoe Match. This book was better than any Christmas movie in the hallmark channel this year. I immediately needed more of Liam and Ava… I want a full length novel - I neeeeeed the screenplay!! This book had all the things I wanted, snowy Vermont, cozy cabin feels, a super possessive man who loves to throw out a “good girl”…. I read this one twice, it was that good. Lily can literally do no wrong.

From Friends to Forever: Holiday Edition - By Claudia Burgoa
This story captivate me and I found myself almost immediately relating to Willow. I loved her and Roman’s chemistry. The way that Claudia was able to immediately capture the dynamic of a 20 year friendship is incredible. I was rooting for this couple from the first page. I already know I’m a sucker for “he falls first” and this man has it bad for his girl. I was giggling all through Willows attempts to… flirt? lol Girl he’s already obsessed with you. He not only calls her princess, he did everything for her before she even knew it was needed… and the recipe card?!? This felt like a genuine love story and I want to read more about them. All men should have Roman Tate energy.

Something about Yule - By Gia Stevens
This one was super fun. I love an opposites attract, forced proximity friends to lovers. I’m so here for it!! This was definitely your classic holiday story. Ultra organized and a little bit chaotic Lauren is in charge of the local winter festival and Eli is just always in the right place at the right moment for her. I loved the immediate way that Eli just accepted Lauren into home… chaotic christmas spirit and all. All I could do was picture this man strutting around in those grey sweatpants!!! I was a big fan of the jealous ex girlfriend, I kinda wish Lauren had more chances to show off with Eli for her… I will 1000% be reading Never Sleigh Never by Gia Stevens this month…

Chasing Christmas - By Piper Rayne
Our last story is Saylor and Luke, friends since they were literal babies.. grew up next door to each other. We soon find out that her ex boyfriend (who is INSUFFERABLE) is Luke’s (ex) best friend. The scenes with Brooks and Lottie were some of my favourite in the whole anthology. They were the perfect type of meddling friends. Luke’s “it was always you” energy was perfect all the way through… and that Christmas morning scene in the treehouse?? Yes yes yes.

🩷 Friends to lovers
💚 He falls first
🎄 Force Proximity
🩷 Brothers best friend
💚 Small town holiday

Holiday Friend Zones Anthology
(Reviews were mostly 5 stars with a couple 4 stars)
These 7 novellas all focus on friend zone relationships, all of which suddenly find things changing that will have both the H & h hoping for more than just friendship during the holiday season.
——————
#1 - Snowed In With My Best Friend - CARRIE ANN RYAN
Adorably cute, best friends to lovers novella. Cullen and Posy have been best friends for years. But will being stranded in a tiny cabin in the middle of a snow storm bring them even closer together?
——————
#2 - Tequila & Cowboys - EMILY SILVER
Cute novella but it felt like details were missing that left gaps in the beginning of the story that may have made more sense if readers had read the previous book in the series.

Rylee and Chase have secretly had a crush on each other for years but Rylee doesn’t want to do anything to jeopardize the relationship she has with her bff, Chase’s sister. But one late night at Chase’s bar the two can’t keep their hands off each other. What happens when Chase’s sister finds out?
——————
#3 - My Kind of Trouble - CLAIRE HASTINGS
After twenty-five years of incredible friendship, suddenly Davis calls one day and tells Kyra they need to get married. She’s been in love with him for years, she trusts him, so what could possibly go wrong. Then her lawyer sister shows up at the court house screaming something about tax fraud and Kyra’s dreams suddenly go up in smoke. Could her best friend have just tried to marry her for all the wrong reasons?
——————
#4 - Mistletoe Match - LILY MILLER
They’ve known each other since age five when Liam moved in next door. Now Ava is back home for Christmas with open wounds from a recent break up. With both sets of parents out of town, and frozen pipes in Ava’s home, staying with Liam seems an obvious solution, until he convinces her that they pretend to be a couple and enter the Mistletoe Match games in town. With Ava’s break-up still so raw will she miss the chance for a future with the man she loves and trusts the most?
——————
#5 - From Friends to Forever: Holiday Edition - CLAUDIA BURGOA
This book has so many emotional feels floating through it and all I could do was hold back the tears and hang on to the hope that Willow and Roman could get on the same page before it was too late.

Roman thought being an architect at a big city firm would fill the losses from his past, but home was always where Willow was, so he moved back home. The Christmas holidays are hard for them both since her mom died, especially since his own family didn’t want him. But can she ever see him as more than a friend? Or is Willow too terrified of losing her best friend if things don’t work out? Losing her mom about did her in but losing Roman too would end her.
——————
#6 - Something About Yule - GIA STEVENS
Eli and Lauren have been best friends since middle school. When the pipes freeze and burst in Lauren’s duplex it’s no surprise Eli invites her to stay with him. With Lauren spreading her extreme love for the holidays throughout the towns Holly Jolly Festival, Eli finds her decor has also exploded all over his home. But Eli isn’t big into Christmas. When the truth comes out will Lauren once again find out that she is too much to handle?
——————
#7 - Chasing Christmas - PIPER RAYNE
Six months ago Saylor returned home embarrassed and humiliated when her boyfriend broke up with her, but she found comfort from her best friend. Luke let her cry it out, but now it’s time he lets Saylor know how he really feels.

Review of Snowed in with my Best Friend by Carrie Ann Ryan

Cullen's been thinking about his friend Posy as more than a friend, when a bit of mistletoe gives him his first chance at stepping over that line. Then a road trip where they're snowed in gives them the best chance at exploring the heat that's been brewing ever since that kiss. This Christmas season is going to be a magical one for this pair of friends!

Friends to lovers has never been more spicy, and mistletoe has never been such a mischievous catalyst before than in Snowed in with my Best Friend. Though short because of the anthology format, this is a great holiday story. And if you've not been introduced to the Montgomery Ink Legacy world, this is an excellent intro. Posy and Cullen are sweet, and deliciously spicy in this snowed in holiday short. My holiday reading streak just got better!

I loved this Anthology. I was able to read this in its entirety and there are a lot of fantastic authors and stories in worlds you are probably familiar with if you have read other books by each author.

This review is for Snowed in with My Best Friend by Carrie Ann Ryan. This book is about two side characters in the Montgomery Ink Legacy world and if you are a fan of CAR you will love this installment. Cullen works for the Montgomery Builders and Posey is a friend of the family and audiobook narrator. They have been friends for a while and Cullen has feelings for Posey. When Posey's car breaks down and she needs a ride home for the holidays Cullen offers to take her the next Morning and as luck would have it, a snowstorm forces them to grab a room and finally confront their feelings for each other. If you love friends to lovers romances, this one is a fun short read with a little early angst and just the right amount of spice.

This review is for Something about Yule by Gia Cobie
If you read Never Sleigh Never this is set in the same small town. Lauren is the Holly Jolly Festival Assistant Coordinator and she is all about making sure it goes off without a hitch. Eli is Lauren's best friend. When Lauren's apartment has an issue that makes her temporarily without water and effectively homeless, Eli offers to let her stay with him while her pipes are fixed. Eli and Lauren are suddenly spending a lot of quality time together and doing all the holiday things even though Eli isn't very festive and Lauren brings all the Jolly. Another great friends to lovers story with just a dash of OW drama and just the right amount of spice.

Thank you to Gia Cobie and Carrie Ann Ryan for the opportunity to review your stories.

This review is for Chasing Christmas by Piper Rayne
Saylor has recentlly moved back home after being dumped by her long time boyfriend. Shen she returns home with a broken heart she reconnected with her former best friend, Luke and they shared a kiss. Now six months later, Saylor is avoiding Luke and Luke is trying to not only get his friend back but also get the girl he lost to his other best friend years ago. This story is set in the Plain Daisy Ranch series and is a great addition to the series. This story, packed a great punch even though it was short. Great read.

This review is for From Friends to Forever by Claudia Burgoa
Willow is dealing with this loss of her mother a few years ago and missing her especially during the holidays. Roman and Willow has been friends for 20 years and Willow has wanted to be with him almost as long. Roman had a difficult childhood and he doesn't feel like he is worthy of Willow but he has always been there for her. This story has everything you come to expect from a Claudia Burgoa read, emotion, heart, and just a dash of holiday cheer. Loved everything about Willow and Roman. Great read.

This book also contains reads by Emily Silver, Claire Hastings, and Lily Miller.

Snowed in with My Best Friend
By: Carrie Ann Ryan
This is a Montgomery novella that showcases Cullen & Posy's winter road trip turned stranded in a snow storm & hunkering down in a cozy cottage to get through the worst of it. This forced proximity brings out the underlying feelings behind their friendship, & their amazing chemistry as friends just ignites as lovers.

Tequila and Cowboys
By: Emily Silver
Rylee & Chase have cornered the market on mutual pining, but with Rylee’s best friend being Chase’s sister, this best friend's brother romance was always a no go. But all it takes is one chance for these two to find out that there’s more to their pining…these two were meant for each other.

My Kind of Trouble
By: Claire Hastings
Davis & Kyra have been best friends for what feels like an eternity…since they were four, in fact. They even got married by the monkey bars when they were nine, if only that durn Maggie Robinson had really been ordained. But now, investments & tax gains/losses have these two in quite a pickle. But a very convenient marriage of convenience plan could be just the fix. That little fact of possible tax fraud aside, this plan might work. Except, what happens when “convenience” turns very real.

Mistletoe Match
By: Lily Miller
Liam & Ava have been best friends since he moved in next door when they were five. Now both home for Christmas with Ava harboring a broken heart, she needs a good dose of the one man she could always trust with her heart. A forced proximity situation brings them even closer, & throw in the Mistletoe Match games these two find that maybe there’s more to their lifelong friendship.

From Friends to Forever: Holiday Edition
By: Claudia Burgoa
Roman & Willow have quite the extra large suitcase of emotional baggage. Both have dealt with loss when it comes to family, but being each other’s stronghold can only take them so far. They both need to look beyond their losses & see what’s right in front of them & the future they could make together.

Something About Yule
By: Gia Stevens
Eli & Lauren have been friends since middle school. But this fateful Christmas, they find themselves forced under the same roof after Lauren’s pipes freeze. Bursting with Christmas spirit, Eli finds his quasi “bah-humbug” dressed to the nines in festive decor by Lauren. But something tells me, judging by their connection & how perfect they are together, that he’s willing to endure a lot when it comes to Lauren.

Chasing Christmas
By: Piper Rayne
Coming home to Plain Daisy Ranch, this novella follows Luke & Saylor after she returns home post a heartbreaking breakup. I love Luke for being her shoulder to cry on & for being her voice of reason to prove to her how absolutely perfect she is just the way she is. I loved watching these two find the love that was always there. They just fit & are so absolutely perfect together.

𝑯𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒅𝒂𝒚 𝑭𝒓𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒅 𝒁𝒐𝒏𝒆𝒔 𝑨𝒏𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒍𝒐𝒈𝒚 is a collection of several holiday novellas by different talented authors whose characters are trying their hardest to get out of the friend zone! Each unique story brought compelling characters set in the authors’ worlds with plenty of spice, wit, emotion, and small town/holiday charm!

𝐎𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐑𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠: ~ ★★★★.𝟓

𝐒𝐧𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐲 𝐁𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝 was a Montgomery Ink Legacy Romance Novella by Carrie Ann Ryan included in the Holiday Friend Zones Anthology. Any excuse to return to this world excites me, but Cullen and Posy’s best friends to lovers winter road trip was the perfect set-up for a holiday novella… the forced proximity of being snowed in, that irresistible understanding that only true friends have, so sweet and yet they had that signature chemistry that Carrie Ann Ryan highlights in her characters’ relationships so easily. I loved that quirky Posy, who rarely leaves her house was getting her chance at a real HEA. And that tiny little epilogue was oh so perfect! I could have read a full novel of these two! —★★★★★

𝐓𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐚 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐰𝐛𝐨𝐲𝐬 by Emily Silver was an entertaining best friend’s brother romance for Rylee and Chase that brought plenty of heat and a little BFF drama! I definitely feel like I’m missing out on some great characters and fun that I need to catch up on! —★★★★

𝐌𝐲 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐓𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐞 by Claire Hastings was an interesting marriage of convenience plan hatched between two lifelong best friends that obviously are harboring real feelings, but the drama was an interesting twist for a novella! I’m definitely curious about this author now! —★★★★

𝐌𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐥𝐞𝐭𝐨𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐜𝐡 by Lily Miller was a best friends to lovers holiday charmer that brings Liam and Ava together in a forced proximity situation with a bit of small town meddling and friendly competition, holiday style. I truly enjoyed the emotion, the chemistry, and the antics of this one, and found a new to me author in the process. —★★★★★

𝐅𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐅𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫: 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 by Claudia Burgoa was a best friends to lovers romance full of the raw emotion and character depth that I’ve come to love from this author! When Roman realized a big city life couldn’t fill the void left by the losses of his past, he returned home to the one person who always understood him and vice versa. I was pulling for them sooo hard to get past the emotional hurdles! I know Roman had me swooning! I mean, the library?! Sigh!😍 Claudia Burgoa is always a must read for me, because I know my heart will get a work-out! —★★★★★

𝐒𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐀𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐘𝐮𝐥𝐞 by Gia Stevens brings Eli and Lauren under the same roof after a frozen pipe puts her home out of commission. Her over-the-top Christmas spirit and penchant for decorating took some getting used to for him, but I enjoyed the banter, connection, chemistry, and emotion in the story. —★★★★

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐂𝐡𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐦𝐚𝐬 by Piper Rayne takes us back to the Plain Daisy Ranch series for Luke and Saylor to get their much over-do second chance at love! I was all-in when I saw who the characters were, because I love this series! It was a blast to watch the drama unfold as Saylor finally realized the right man was there all along! They had the connection, chemistry, the banter, everything! —★★★★★

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this adorable holiday anthology—thank you to all the authors—and it ended up being such a warm, feel-good collection. I went in already familiar with two of the authors, and now I absolutely plan to check out the rest, because I genuinely fell for every couple in these stories.

Each novella had its own flavor, but they all delivered cozy holiday vibes, friends-to-lovers magic, dual POV goodness, and that satisfying mix of soft moments, tension, and festive charm. Across the anthology, I made so many reader noises, smiled constantly, and even “yelled” at a couple of characters (all lovingly, because I just wanted them to get their HEAs). There were a few characters I didn’t like in certain stories, but it only made rooting for the main couples that much more fun. And I found several great quotes I’ll be thinking about for a while.

Since this is an anthology, the tropes ranged nicely—every story had friends to lovers, dual POV, and holiday romance, but some added best friend’s brother, a few leaned into small-town charm, and one gave me a perfectly satisfying cowboy romance. The variety kept it engaging from start to finish, and overall it was such a delightful holiday reading experience.

Spice guide (for readers who want to know):
• Snowed In With My Best Friend: ch 3
• Tequila & Cowboys: ch 4
• My Kind of Trouble: ch 4 + epilogue
• Mistletoe Match: ch 13–14
• From Friends to Forever: ch 19
• Something About Yule: ch 7
• Chasing Christmas: ch 5

Since Snowed In With My Best Friend is the only novella I received as its own ARC, I’m including my full thoughts on that story at the end of this review.

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this sweet holiday novella (Snowed in with my Best Friend)
—thank you to the author—and it was such a fun, cozy addition to the Montgomery Ink Legacy world. This story will be part of The Holiday Friend Zones anthology, and it delivers exactly the kind of warm, charming holiday friends-to-lovers energy I was hoping for.

Cullen and Posy together were an absolute delight. Their friendship already felt solid and lived-in, so watching it shift into something more during a snowed-in holiday moment just worked. The dual POV made their growing feelings even more enjoyable, and I laughed more than once at their banter and awkwardly adorable moments. I even made a couple of reader noises along the way—and the little “epilogue” at the end was incredibly cute.

As always, the connection to the Montgomery Ink Legacy family gives the novella that familiar found-family warmth, and the short length doesn’t take away from the charm or chemistry at all. It’s the kind of holiday contemporary romance that leaves you smiling by the last page.

Spice (for readers who want to know): 3

A sweet, snowy, friends-to-lovers novella that’s perfect for anyone who loves a quick holiday escape filled with heart. ❄️❤️

Snowed in with my Best Friend by Carrie Ann Ryan 5 stars
I love friends to lovers stories and this one was perfect. Ms Ryan gives us Cullen and Posy, two people who are best friends, both are divorced and both have secret feelings for one another. Will being stranded in a freak snowstorm have them questioning which road to take - stay in the friend zone or try the love zone?

Tequila & Cowboys by Emily Silver 5 stars
Who doesn’t love a best friend’s brother love story? Ms. Silver gives us a sweet and entertaining story of Chase and Rylee. Two people who have had a secret crush on one another but because Chase is her best friend’s brother, things never happened. Well, that was until she made the first move. Steam and fun times at the bar are in the cards for these two.

My Kind of Trouble by Claire Hastings 5 stars
A marriage of convenience is what Ms. Hastings tells, but is it really? Who knew that two people who have been friends for 25 years would have kept the biggest secret of all; they have always loved one another. Davis and Kyra have been through thick and thin, but now he needs help, and Kyra does not hesitate until she learns it could cause trouble. Now Davis has to tell her the truth. Sparks ignite and love blooms. Ms. Hastings does a wonderful job of pulling us in and making us smile.

From Friends to Forever by Claudia Burgoa 5 stars
A sweet and warming friends to lovers story that will have you smiling. Roman and Willow, two soulmates who take the leap of faith and cross the line of friendship. With lists on how to get the guy to Willow realizing he was telling her he loved her, with ways instead of words, this book will have your heart. I love Ms. Burgoa's storytelling with the way she grabs my attention right from the start.

Something About Yule by Gia Stevens 5 stars
I have been reading Ms. Stevens for quite a while and I love her stories. This time, she gives us Eli and Lauren, friends forever. Burst pipes, forced proximity and Christmas decorations galore, see these two finally give in to the pull that has been there for a while. Such a warning of the heart love story.

Chasing Christmas by Piper Rayne 5 stars
This duo always has my heart feeling warm and fuzzy with their romantic storylines and characters you can't help but love. This time, they give us Saylor and Luke. She has moved back home and is nursing a broken heart. Even though Luke and she were best friends, she is trying her hardest to avoid him because she thinks Luke and her ex are still best friends. Luke wants to comfort her and let her in on his big secret. Offering to let her stay with him during a blackout gives Luke the perfect opportunity to let her know his true feelings. Will she open her heart to her best friend? Will the sparks that have been smoldering under the surface turn into a five-alarm fire?

Holiday Friend Zone Anthology is a wonderful collection holiday short stories by some of my favorite authors and a couple new to me authors and all of them will put you in a festive mood and fill you with the hopeful spirit of the holiday season. The stories include some of my favorite romance story tropes like friends to lovers, best friends older brother, marriage of convenience, fake dating and forced proximity. So, grab your copy and enjoy the magic of the season as love and romance come to life.

Snowed in With My Best Friend by Carrie Ann Ryan is a sweet friends to lovers story where Posey and Cullen end up snowed in together in a cabin.

Tequila & Cowboys by Emily Silver is about Rylee Clarke and Chase Andrews. He is her best friends older brother and even though they have been pining for each other for a long time they didn’t want to hurt Joey, her best friends feelings.

My Kind of Trouble by Claire Hastings
Kyra Murray and Davidson Oswald Barnes (Davis) have been best friends since they were four. Davis asks her to marry him to save his company in this marriage of convenience story. The thing is, they have both loved each other and were afraid to ruin their friendship

Mistletoe Match by Lily Miller is a fake dating story as Ava Reynolds and Liam Carter, who have been friends for a long time, join together to compete in the towns Mistletoe Match contest.

From Friends to Forever: Holiday Edition by Claudia Burgoa is all about found family and a twenty year friendship.
Willow Collins and Roman Tate finally decided to take the romantic plunge and take a risk. They just didn’t want to jeopardize their friendship.

Something about Yule by Gia Stevens is a cute forced proximity, best friends holiday romance story.
Lauren and Eli have been best friends for a long time but when a pipe bursts in her apartment Eli invites her to stay at his place and watch the sparks fly as they finally admit how they feel about one another.

Chasing Christmas by Piper Rayne takes us back to the Plain Daisy Ranch series with Saylor and Luke finally finding and taking the love that has been part of their friendship all along to the next level now that Saylor is back in town after a failed relationship.

I read this anthology for My Kind of Trouble by Claire Hastings - which I loved.
This short story not only introduces us to Davis and Kyra, but it also introduces us to a whole new small town that will be joining Claire's world in the months to come.
I loved this short story about Davis the "chaos gremlin" who can sweet talk his bestie into anything --- including a marriage of convivence that may not be all that legal when you look at the reasons he's asking her for it.
In true Claire Hastings style this story features a large and overly involved family with siblings who have to have the last word on things that are none of their business, characters that burst off the page as if they are people who aren't living inside your head; but are real people who you'll see tomorrow at the coffee shop, and a plot that keeps spinning even in the short space it exists within.
You quickly find out that both Kyra and Davis may be hiding something from each other...and have been for quite some time.
The way the author was able to fit a full of yearning and the perfect push/pull of a the friends to lovers trope into a short story was utterly perfect.
From Kyra going into this marriage of convenience with a mix of fear/hope that there could be more to her relationship with Davis - to wondering if he even saw her as more than just his forever bestie.
To both of them having the same squirmy feeling of not wanting to lose the most important person to them in the chance that their feelings aren't returned....the story never let up on either it's characters or the subtle pull of the tension that the trope demands.
It was a beautifully balanced act that was over way too quickly for me. I would love to see a full story of these two if that is ever an option.
This story is so fun, a great holiday read, and a wonderful introduction to a new family and town to the Claire Hastings world. I can't wait to see what else will be happening here.

I did read the full anthology - not just Claire Hastings contribution.
I was really thrilled with all the different approaches to the friend zoned theme of the anthology as a whole.
The stories all had different takes on the holidays and friends.
I loved being introduced to some new authors, and the anthology itself was well curated in terms of the authors included, their writing styles, and the stories featured.
I've been introduced to some new to me authors that I will be picking up in the coming year based on what I have discovered in this great holiday read.

Holiday Friend Zones

A Holiday Anthology

Written by

Carrie Ann Ryan

Emily Silver

Claire Hastings

Lily Miller

Claudia Burgoa

Gia Stevens

Piper Rayne

Snowed ln With

My Best Friend by Carrie Ann Ryan

A quick cute holiday read where he pines for her but settles to be her best friend. He is so gone for her that he offers to help her get home for Christmas. Of course the weather has other plans for them. So now they're snowed in together.

Tequila & Cowboys

Written by Emily Silver

A quick but spicy, best friend's brother, small-town, cowboy romance. Rylee and Chase both feel a magnet pull to each other and can't ignore the chemistry anymore.

My Kind of Trouble

By Claire Hastings

Best friends to marriage of convenience for them both! She's been secretly pining for him oh and he's also been obsessed with her as well.

Mistletoe Match by Lily Miller

This holiday's friends to lovers story gave me the feeling of coming home. I ate every second of these two and the moment they finally wanted something more together.  As usual I got lost in Lily's writing.

From Friends to Forever Holiday Edition by Claudia Burgoa

A somber read and learning that life goes on after loss and the best friend is the key to that. He is secretly so gone for her, that he would do anything for her. They're like two puzzle pieces. They didn't know that they fit together perfectly. I'm swooning over this man! I love these two so much! I feel for this story and Claudia’s writing.

Something about Yule

by Gia Stevens

A fun banter filled romance and the bear friends find themselves in close proximity. The push and pull of will they or won't they cross the friendship line.

Chasing Christmas

By Piper Rayne

The one that got away, the easy banter between them and the kisses they share that both of them can get out of their heads. Let's add in some forced proximity and it will all work out for them both. I loved getting a Plain Daisy Ranch novella !

This was such a sweet book full of best friend stories that will make your heart leap.

Snowed in with my best friend - Carrie Ann Ryan - Set in the Montgomery world, Cullen and Posey have been friends for a long time, both having feelings for the other, but not willing to endanger their friendship. Until one night, when Posey's car isn't suitable for driving home for the holidays and Cullen takes her in his truck. Forced to stay in a motel overnight, the forced proximity, one bed genre comes into play and these two are adorable. Told with all of Ms. Ryan's chemistry and wit, this story is a true winner.

From Friends to Forever - Claudia Burgoa - Willow and Roman have been best friends since they were small and despite the fact that Roman had a promising career as an architect and Willow was in finance, both ultimately came back to their small town for an easier life. Willow sunk her savings into opening a bookshop and Roman set up a construction business, although he spent more time at Willow's bookshop. This book is full of humor, especially when Willow tries to google 'how to get your best friend to notice you'. What Willow doesn't know, is that Roman has feeling for her, but is afraid to act on it. Eventually, Roman can hold out no longer and finally makes his move. Warm and cozy reading.

Chasing Christmas - Piper Rayne - going back to the Plain Daisy Ranch, we get the story of Saylor and Luke. Neighbors since childhood, until Saylor moved away with Luke's best friend, Tyler. Now, home nursing more embarrassment than a broken heart, Saylor has been avoiding Luke, a situation that Lottie and Brooks (From Chasing Forever - book 4 in the series) decide to remedy. When a blizzard and a power outage contrive to bring Luke and Saylor together under one roof, the chemistry is finally unleashed. Enjoyable, comfortable and definitely worth reading.

Cullen & Posy is the perfect holiday story, a little bit of forced proximity helps get these two to admit how they feel, and I just loved it and now feel the need to dive into the Montgomery ink stories.

Rylee & Chase bring all the heat!!! I loved this sister’s best friend novella. This story gives you all the feels for this small town and I’m a sucker for a girl calling her man cowboy. A perfect story to introduce this town I loved it.

I just loved Davis & Kyra, these two have been best friends since childhood and now Davis needs a favour. This small-town story was perfect, and I loved Kyra’s family so much they were a hoot. Loved the parents too - a perfect short story.

Mistletoe Match brings all the warmth in this lovely festive story. Liam & Ava were perfect, and you feel you are right in the heart of this story. I loved all elements of this story and how Liam fights for his girl!!

Roman just melted my heart what a best friend!!! I loved this story and how the interactions were between just the two of them. I loved how she planned to get him to notice her, and it written so well. Really enjoyed this one.

Gotta love a holiday festival as a backdrop to this story!! Eli & Lauren were the perfect, loved that this short story packed so much in we get a bit of forced proximity, fake dating & friends crossing the line. I don’t think I will ever look at chocolate pudding the same way haha!!

Love a visit to Willowbrook I loved Luke & Saylor so much. These two I wanted to know more about during Brooks & Lotties book so very happy for this novella. I loved how he waited for her!!! Luke gave all the swoon and loved how brooks & Lottie supported them through it all. These two gave me everything I needed in this story and hope we see glimpses of them again soon.

I’m so thrilled Cullen and Posy finally got their moment to shine. Cullen’s been secretly pining for his best friend forever, playing it cool because he’d rather be the guy she can count on than risk losing her completely.

Posy, meanwhile, is a charming homebody who only leaves her cozy little world for a select few people—Cullen very much included. She’s always felt that little spark around him, but he’s kept things firmly in the friend zone… until one very inconveniently magical kiss under the mistletoe blows their careful boundaries to pieces.

Throw in Posy’s car dying, a shared trip home, a snowstorm that strands them in a quiet cabin and suddenly these two are closer than ever—no more hiding, no more pretending, just a slow-burn friendship finally catching fire.

Loved this story, too bad it was a novella! Can't wait for the next couple to fall.

I received an advance copy for my honest opinion.

I loved a good holiday short story, especially one that brings in some of our favorite characters from previous stories and allows us to get glimpses of others that we never got to learn more about. Carrie Ann Ryans gives us a great holiday novella where we get to see Cullen, the long-time master plumber for the Montgomery Builders, finally gets his chance to show his best friend the true depth of his feelings when they find themselves stranded in a snowstorm. Posy never imagined that traveling to her parents for Christmas with her best friend would find them stranded together in a blinding snowstorm and finally confronting their chemistry. Cullen and Posy have both been resisting the pull they’ve felt but now that they’ve given in to their needs, they have to decide if their relationship is worth taking a risk on, or is their one night is all it will ever be. I loved watching these two come to terms with their feelings and admit that they have both been slowly falling in love with one another, even as they admitted their love and desire for one another. It was great to watch them both fumble their way, sometime awkwardly through their emotions and finally admit their needs and wants, until in the end they realized they’d both finally wanted the same things all along. I loved the passion and sweetness that they shared and seeing them interacting with their Montgomery friends was amazing and I hope to see them in future stories. The holidays are never more fun than with a room full of Montgomerys and a bunch of cheese to kick the party off right, and Carrie Ann knows that truth to her bones.

This anthology is a collection of all new fun and steamy holiday romance novellas written by 7 amazing, and talented authors!

*Snowed in with my Best Friend (A Montgomery Ink Legacy Romance) by Carrie Ann Ryan
This was a sweet and steamy story about best friends who are both finally single at the same time. After finding themselves under the mistletoe, then stranded in a cabin together after an unexpected snow storm, Cullen and Posy finally have the courage to act on their feelings for each other. Will they regret their actions the next morning or take the risk for more together? I really enjoyed everything about this holiday romance. This is my first time reading Ryan's work and I will definitely check out more of her work

*Tequila & Cowboys (A Pinecrest, Montana Romance) by Emily Silver
Rylee has had a crush on her best friends older brother, Chase, for a long time. Now that she is home for good, she wants to see if they could be more than friends. Cullen also has growing feelings for Rylee. But can they act on their feelings without risking hurting his sister? This was a quick, steamy read about friends, family and love.

* From Friends to Forever Holiday Edition by Claudia Burgoa
Willow and Roman’s beautiful, friends to lovers story had me laughing, crying, and swooning from start to finish! The holidays are hard for Willow and Roman, after losing Willow's mom, who meant the world to both of them. But this year is different as they each start to want more than friendship. Will they find the courage to risk it all, only to lose the one person who holds their heart? I loved Willow and Roman's relationship and how they finally opened their hearts to more. The way Willow worked up the courage to approach Roman and his reactions were entertaining and priceless! I fell hard for them both and didn't want their story to end!

Snowed in with my Best Friend is the Montgomery Ink Legacy novella that is included in the ‘Holiday Friends Zone’ Anthology…note—my review is just of this one particular novella.

Where does this particular novella start…the Montgomery Christmas party (within the last few chapters of Last Chance Seduction—where we’re introduced to Cullen (he works with Lex) & Posy (who is good friends with Mercy)…

Okay..the ‘background’ is taken care of…

Snowed in…

Well they do live in Colorado…and it seems they’re both from another snowy state (Wyoming). When Posy’s car kinda breaks down when trying to leave the Montgomery Christmas party…Cullen offers to not only drive her back to her place—but to pick her up in the morning & drive her to her family’s place on his way to visit his family.

Needless to say…there’s a snowstorm…

They find a hotel…that may have rooms available….but there may only be one bed.

What happens when they actually sit & talk…and admit to having feelings for each other??

Hmm…well—grab the anthology to find out, it’s now available.

I was wondering when these two were possibly going to be getting an novella, & I was happy to see that they were getting a Christmas-themed one this year. Five out of five stars for this particular ‘chunk’ of the anthology. I love this world…because you can ‘jump’ in at any point, and you have a whole universe to explore afterwards. So…grab the anthology…then possibly decide where you’re going to go next within the Montgomery Ink world (whether it’s the next generation or the original).

Holiday Friend Zones Anthology is a heartwarming collection of holiday novellas from seven authors, each capturing the magic and spirit of Christmas in quick, cozy reads perfect for the season.

One of my favorites was Chasing Christmas by Piper Rayne, set in the Plain Daisy Ranch world. Luke and Saylor’s story was everything I wanted—nostalgic, emotional, and full of second-chance sparks. Childhood neighbors and best friends, their connection was undeniable until Saylor left town with someone else. When she finally returns, one impulsive moment with Luke leaves her so embarrassed that she avoids him for six long months.

But fate has other plans. A snowstorm forces them back into each other’s orbit, and all the feelings they’ve been burying come rushing to the surface. The tension, the longing, the slow unraveling of walls—it’s the perfect blend of angst and holiday warmth. Watching Luke finally get the chance to show Saylor the depth of his feelings, and seeing her realize that running away won’t protect her heart, was both swoony and satisfying.

Chasing Christmas is adorable, heartfelt, and brimming with the kind of holiday magic that makes second-chance romance shine. It’s a standout in an anthology that celebrates love, forgiveness, and the beauty of finding your way back home.

This is a Holiday Anthology and contains a selection of books written by different authors some I recognise and some new to me. This is my review for Chasing Christmas by Piper Rayne and it is Saylor and Luke’s story. Luke and Saylor have been best friends since they were children and then Saylor started dating Tyler and followed him to New York only for it all too fall apart leaving her upset and disappointed but now she is back home and feels like she failed. Luke has been in love with Saylor for as long as he can remember and now she is back home and Luke really wants to be with her and have a chance with Saylor but he knows that it will not be easy so he will have to be very patient and can wait hoping that he wins her heart in the end. When Saylor and Luke end up working together at the Plain Daisy Ranch to help with the Christmas Festival but will it bring them closer together and give them a Christmas Miracle and a chance to be together and have the future together that they both want and deserve. This book is a beautiful story about finding your way back and finding the person that you were always supposed to be with which is your soulmate. This is a really great anthology where friends find the love of there lives and it is definitely worth reading and you will not be disappointed.

My Kind of Trouble by Claire Hastings:

Davis and Kyra have been best friends their entire lives. Now, Davis is in need of a little more than a friend, he needs a wife. No brainer for Kyra, because it is her best friend and a man she has been in love with for forever.

I adore these two. They are best friends and already have a solid connection. They have also been in love with each other for a long time. It’s a sweet story and a great introduction to a new town and new characters that I can’t wait to get to know more about in the future!

If you’re looking for a small town, friends to lovers, marriage of convenience then check this one out.

Chasing Christmas by Piper Rayne:

After meeting them in a previous Plain Daisy Ranch book I was dying to know about Luke and Saylor and I am so glad this was all about them.

Saylor and Luke grew up best friends and next door neighbors. Saylor left after high school, but now she is back in town and has been for the past 6 months. I love seeing them reconnect and finally admit how they really feel about each other after so many years of not admitting it to each other.

I hope to see more of Luke and Saylor sprinkled into the rest of the series.

If you’re looking for a small town, friends to lovers check this one out.

Snowed In with My Best Friend is a short story by Carrie Ann Ryan and is part of a multi-authored anthology called Holiday Friend Zones. This review is solely for Ryan's contribution to the anthology, although I am hoping to have time to read the rest of the stories included. As you can tell from the title of the anthology, the theme is friends-to-lovers romances set during the holiday season. Ryan's story is also part of her Montgomery Ink Legacy series, and I do believe it takes place somewhere in between the events of the ninth full-length novel, Last Chance Seduction, which is Lexington Wilder Montgomery and Mercy Caddel's friends-to-lovers story.

Thirty-five-year-old voice actor and narrator Posy and thirty-nine-year-old master plumber Cullen are close friends who spend a lot of time together, but they're certainly not dating, or so they say. He's been slowly falling for her, but he wasn't sure if the feeling was mutual. Would risking their friendship be worth it? Well, maybe getting stuck in a cabin during a nightmare of a snowstorm would make his dream of being with her come true--and would it be a one-time thing or the first of forever? Suffice it to say, Carrie Ann Ryan delivers a quickie read that's got just enough of the sweet and steam to warm readers up. Four stars for Snowed In with My Best Friend.

What a fun collection of stories. They are filled with laughs, steam and amazing HEA’s. I read three stories and plan to go back and read the other stories

My Kind of Trouble - Claire Hastings writes amazing stories filled with fantastic characters, chemistry and a wonderful love story.

The banter, tension and when they finally admit their feelings…fireworks!

Some of the family members tried to make waves but they didn’t understand how truly they loved each other.

The moms were so funny and knew they would eventually be together.

From Friends to Forever - Claudia Burgoa writes the most angsty and delicious stories.

Roman and Willow have known each other since they were kids and have shared their deepest, darkest secrets and have always been there for one another.

Her 10 step plan to get his attention is so good. Eventually she realizes she just needs to be honest. He helps her learn to love the holidays after the death of her mom.

You will love this Slowwwwwww burn story.

Chasing Christmas - Piper Rayne write the most amazing banter and stories filled with humor.

Luke and Saylor have been best friends and although they went their separate ways…they still had feelings for one another.

After a breakup, Luke becomes her comforter and they finally give in to their feelings!

A great read!
