Rate this book
Save the beast—or save the world?

Fresh from battles of the Shadowlands, Maximillia, the last Blood Witch of the Blut Coven and the assumed Queen of the Dark Fae, travels with allies, family and friends to a faraway kingdom for one purpose: to save her mate, Kaden Moorgate.

Having succumbed to his bestial form to save her and his kingdom, he slowly slips away into the monstrous curse laid upon his family line. Feeling their bond weaken, she turns to the one person who could help—Aoife, Queen of the Woodland Fae, Kaden’s surrogate parent. An ancient Fae, full of magic and secrets, she’s their last hope before Max loses Kaden forever.

Entering the Woodland Kingdom, a court full of gold and riches, it’s a welcomed change to the secretive, dark halls of the Black Court. But both courts are the same—enemies hide in plain sight and this palace holds betrayals so deep, they would unravel Fate.

As evil magic threatens to snuff out Max and Kaden’s love, the war with the Humans and King Griffin hits a pinnacle. Old friends will come together to fulfill a long-told prophecy, and continue an centuries old war with the hope for peace.

Max will be at the center as her destiny—and birthright, is fully exposed. But she will have to decide—save her mate, or save the world.

The War of Love and Ruin, book 3 in the blood witch chronicles

This book is such a perfect ending to such a beautifully dark, beauty and the beast retelling, romantasy story. I absolutely love that we get not just a morally gray MMC, but also a fully morally black FMC who chooses love over the rest of the world.

FMC Max, now Queen of the dark fae, is traveling to Queen Aoife, of the woodland kingdom, in hopes to find the cure for MMC Kaden's curse. Kaden's curse, the beast that he has fought back his entire life, has finally taken over, while he sits caged within his own mind, watching the beast in control of his body. There is only so much time before Kaden will be lost entirely to the beast. Max's father Boris also travels with them, and gives Max warnings about Aoife. Max refuses to listen, and goes head on into danger. While they are away, the human army is also invading, and Max has to keep choosing between Kaden, and everyone around her, who will she save?

I think this may be my favorite book of the trilogy, but they are all so good I don't even know. I loved all the history that we get in this book, in which Max truly learns who she is. Learning about the origin of the Moorgate curse is fascinating, and Max's lineage.

Max annoyed the heck out of me a few times in this story though, because even with warnings from characters that have lived far longer than her, and knew more about Aoife, she doesn't listen as she is too headstrong and hellbent on saving Kaden. I completely understand her motives, but also I feel like she caused needless death in some of her rash acts. Even after the first incident in which she chose not to listen to warnings about entering Aoife's castle, she again goes against advice of those wiser than her, and willingly listens to Aoife on how to break Kaden's curse. I think Max is so wrapped up in the dwindling time to save Kaden, that she doesn't stop to think about all the information she has been given.

Max survives a horrible trial, and comes out on the other side. Unfortunately, Kaden is not safe yet, and now Max and the others are scrambling to escape, again.

I loved the Beauty and the Beast vibes in this story! Kaden is truly the beast, but also, I think that Max is also a beast in her own right, doing literally anything and everything she can to save Kaden.

Of course, some of the other characters make this story amazing, Reid, who is by Max's side the entire time, and of course the Hadeon! Such the perfect protector, in every way, and more, than Max could have expected. And Mal and Fee, I really want to know if there will be a spinoff!!!

I enjoyed every single second of reading this and the previous 2 books!!

Thank you so much to E.D. Crowe and Love Notes PR for a copy of this book!

Some fav quotes:
"He is my other half, the very reason I found my strength and embraced my darkness. He saw me in ways others never have, never shying away, but looking at me like a Goddess. To fail him-to lose him-is inconceivable."

"Max, who is the balm to my rage, the moon in the sky, that shines brighter than all the stars. She is the only reason I have not fully given in, allowed the beast to control me and wished for death. Max is my future. She is everything I never hoped to have and like Seti's Hell, will I give it up."

"How do I tell her I'd grip to a cliff for days on end while a Fury pecks out my eyes, if it meant having her at the end? I would gladly suffer it all, just to have a future with her."

"I would destroy the world for him, and he for me."

"I exhale against the outpouring of love I feel for this small woman. A woman who is half my size and yet dared to save a beast."

"She is divinity, wrapped in a cloak of mortality, and I would fall to my knees daily if she allowed it."

"It's sadistic. I'm proud of her."

I was super anxious to read this one after loving the last one so much. Some book 3s don’t hold up, but this one definitely does.

This is the second time I have finished reading this story, and the second time I have wanted to refuse to write this review.... because writing it means its well and truly over. And I'm not ready to come to terms with never seeing the Moorgate siblings again.

The Blood Witch trilogy was my first journey into romantasy and I'm forever in love! This cast of unlikely friends will ALWAYS have a place in my heart, except you Taylay, still not forgiven!

Kaden, my sweet, misunderstood beast, experiencing him through the beast was unlike anything I've read. I loved that we got that perspective. After hearing so much about the curse in the previous books, experiencing with him was a really unique take and I love the writer for giving us that!

Max, she really came into her own in the final book. She is welding her magic instead of it possessing her, she leans heavily into her own intuition while never forgetting who she really is. She will not be toyed with, she will not be handled, and she will not lose her mate!

Reid and Fee do not spend a lot of time in the limelight in this book but I love Reid non the less! He's still his spunky smart-ass self, one day, maybe if I'm lucky well see what becomes of him and Layla.

"Where one goes"

"Kaden, the Fae who took me, claimed me. pushed me and infuriated me, has become an anchor in life. He is my other half, the very reason I found my strength and embraced my darkness. He saw me in ways others never have, never shying away but looking at me like a Goddess. To fail him - lose him - is inconceivable."

"The things most people take for granted, we miss deep within our bones."

"You've seen parts of my soul on one knows, and have never run from it. How can anyone compare to you?"

"I didn't marry a wilting flower, kitten. I married a vengeful goddess who will smite the world to build it back up in her image. And I will only be too happy to see you do it."

"I assume death would be cold, but this is a soothing heat. One of calm and love and I slowly drift away, knowing that where i go, Kaden will be waiting for me."

As expected, E.D. Crowe took Kaden and Max (and me) on a wild ride with the conclusion to their epic love story, and she did not disappoint! I fell for this series from the first book with Kaden and Max’s enemies to lovers romance that proved through betrayal and trials, true love can still conquer it all making it one of my top favorite romantasy series!

The plot picks up where book two left us, and the author does not go easy on the characters. Max is one of my top favorite bada$$ FMCs! She finds out more about her past, uncovers betrayals and as everyone around her pushes her to abandon Kaden and save the world, she becomes fierce in her commitment that she will try to do both, but insists on putting her love for Kaden first. I admired the fierceness of her loyalty to him and her faith in their love even when Kaden is no more than a mindless beast.

Poor Kaden had it rough and was barely himself (literally) through most of the story, but the one constant was his love and obsession with Max. When he does get to be with Max, he is every bit as adept as ever at ensuring her satisfaction and heating things up! 🪭 One of my favorite characters is the Hadeon, Max’s hellhound given to her by Seti—I loved his protectiveness and how he ensures that Kaden’s beast stays fed and can’t harm Max. He’s the ultimate in an animal companion in my book, and I yes, I want one.

The ending was truly perfect, and I felt it tied the entire series up into the HEA that these two MCs so deserve. If you love a real enemies to lovers romance that blooms into a love to overcome all the odds, then you will want to add The Blood Witch Chronicles to your TBR today!

E.D. does not fail with this book.
Max is the last Blood Witch of the Blut Coven, and she is the Queen of the Dark Fae.
Blood magic is and always has been a dark magic.
Max's mate, Kaden, is falling under a curse that was placed a few generations back.
This story is such an amazing journey of love, faith, friendship, and loyalty. Makes you realize that when you truly love someone, you can and will do anything possible to save them.
But it also has deceit and betrayal. Along the way, Max learns things that make her who she is. Discovers things about her parents she never knew.
War with the humans & King Griffin try to take Max's attention away from breaking Kaden's curse.
They try to make her choose - save her mate or save the world.
Max refuses to accept that and sets out to save both.
Once again, another great book!

This book gets 4.5 stars from me.
I literally read this trilogy in 4 days because I couldn't put it down. I had to adult and because of that, it did take 4 days for all 3 books.

Ok, so this book ties up everything but I still want more. Like this series could have been twice as long as there was so much that could have been explored and I still would have devoured them!

Ok, this book of course leaves off where the 2nd book ends.... Trying to find a cure for the curse. There is a person who is now Voldemort to me, is being trusted....... And yes, I slipped into the author's DM's to discuss my thoughts. And while I was correct on most, there was 1 thing I was not..... This book does end with a HEA. I want to really add a lot more but I don't want to spoil this. BUT I will say there better be spinoff books of certain characters because if not, I will be sad........ Like I need more from my characters.

If you want twists, turns, HEA, some despicable things (Doesn't say on page but it's insinuated - IYKYK). There is magic, history (which I would love a book of just the history), and more information around the curse in this book. Just trust me and go get this book if you want a "touch here and be forgotten", she will do whatever is needed for her love, and a women scorned who goes to extreme lengths.

Also, this author because of this trilogy, is now in the "if she writes it I will read it" author list. I can't wait to read more of her books. LETS GOOOOO!

Thank you to Love Notes PR and ED Crowe for providing me with a copy of this book.

Ohhh, I had been waiting for this book, and it did not disappoint. I absolutely loved it!

We jump straight back in from where book two ended. Max, our FMC and now Queen of the Dark Fae, is on her way to the Woodland Kingdom to find a cure for Kaden’s curse. Will she find it? And how much will she have to go through to get it? Well, I’m not spoiling anything, so you’ll just have to dive in and find out for yourself.

What I will say is that this is hands down one of my favourite books by E.D. Crowe. The stakes are higher than ever, and the characters truly shine in this book. They go through so much, and every moment felt intense and emotional. And the twists? Oh my goodness... they left me with my mouth on the floor. This book takes you on a wild ride, so buckle up.

Max and Kade are one of my favourite couples, they’re absolutely amazing together. I love a strong, badass FMC, and Max? That woman is hands down one of the strongest. And the side characters shined here too, which I loved. The writing and pacing were absolutely chef’s kiss. E.D. has a way of writing that her books will suck you in and doesn’t let go until you reach the very last page.

I’m so sad this trilogy has ended, but also so happy with how it all wrapped up. Thank you, E.D., for this amazing ARC, I absolutely loved every minute of it.

This book was an emotional roller coaster. I wanted to give it 5 stars, but I feel like the last 15%-20% was rushed. I cried, screamed, giggled, gasped, and almost threw my kindle several times. It was a really great way to end the series. Max (FMC) fought with all of her might to save Kaden’s (MMC) life. Max had to learn to rely on those around her, mainly Reid (MC) and Fee (FC) who have accepted her as family. She went through several trials to prove her love towards Kaden. Kaden fights with hope for his future with Max in order to prevent the curse from completely overtaking him. Max relies on her father and his knowledge from the Gods regarding her prophecy. She has to trust herself and trust in the love that she has for Kaden. I’m so grateful that they get their happily ever after.

I loved the quotes that Kaden used to articulate his love for Max. My favorite is when Max asked him if he missed her and he responded, “More than the sun misses the moon. More than the dormant flowers miss the warmth of spring. There are not enough words to describe how deeply I’ve missed you”. I hope that there are additional stories that follow Reid and Fee. They deserve to finally be happy too.

The War of Love and Ruin, the third Blood Witch Chronicles book, is a dark twist on Beauty and the Beast featuring bold characters: Max, a heroine who stays mostly dark, and a complex male lead. Now ruler of the dark fae, Max seeks Queen Aoife’s help to break Kaden’s curse. Kaden, losing control of his beast side, faces being lost forever. Max risks danger despite warnings, while a human army threatens her land, forcing a tough choice between saving Kaden and protecting others.

This might be my favourite in the trilogy. The rich backstory reveals Moorgate’s curse and Max’s past, adding depth. Max can be frustratingly stubborn, ignoring advice and causing trouble, but she faces great dangers and barely escapes. The Beauty and the Beast theme runs strong—both are beasts willing to do anything for love. Supporting characters like Reid, Hadeon, Mal, and Fee add interest.

Some plot points are predictable, but there are surprising moments. Max and Kaden’s bond feels earned and meaningful. My only issues are repeated thoughts and Max’s stubbornness. Overall, The War of Love and Ruin is an exciting, fitting end—dark, loving, and featuring a heroine who controls her fate.

4/4.5 out of 5 (I'm still deciding on the rating, but it's getting at least 4 stars)

Thank you to E.D. Crowe and Love Notes Pr for the ARC. I got there eventually. It took me a while to read the series but it did not disappoint.

This book was a great conclusion to this trilogy even though the plot was a little predictable. But, what I say to that is, that's why we read books after their tropes.

I loved the connection between Kaden and Max, and their love story was definitely one of the things that really melted my heart while I was reading this book. They never gave up on each other and even though it felt like fate itself was against them, they finally got their happily ever after, after so much fighting.

One thing I didn't particularly like was the repetitiveness of Max's stubborness (stupid, infuriating stubborness) and her monologue. She seemed annoying at times, at least to me. And honestly? Stubborness and impulsiveness are a bad combo, but somehow Max made it work and her monologue was enjoyable.

Other than that, the story was amazing. I absolutely enjoyed this Beauty & the Beast retelling. I recommend this trilogy to all romantasy lovers out there.

I BINGED this entire series, and I am so glad I did because the conclusion to The Blood Witch Chronicles, The War of Love and Ruin, absolutely delivered! First off, watching Max go from hiding her magic and being afraid to use it in book 1 to this morally black, dark fae Queen who will stop at nothing to save Kaden (her mate) was 🤌🏼😮‍💨. There is so much more happening throughout the series- but watching Max fully step into her power and not letting anyone steer her from her heart's desire really takes the cake. Max really gave off “let the world burn” vibes. Kaden really had my heart in this book as well, considering that at the end of book 1, I wasn’t sure how I felt about him.
The ending for Max and Kaden was done perfectly, BUT I would 💯 love to see more from some of the side characters- ahem, Mal, Fee, *cough cough* Layla, Reid *cough*.

I can’t say it enough, READ THIS SERIES, you’ll be so glad you did!

This book really leaned into its mythological chaos in the best way, and I was completely here for it. The way the gods and creatures were written felt vivid and layered, not just thrown in for aesthetic, and Max’s connection to the curse through her bloodline added that extra weight that made everything feel more personal and dangerous. I was hooked the entire time, no dragging, no filler, just one thing spiraling into the next, and I genuinely loved every second of it, especially once that nagging feeling kicked in that Aoife might actually be Effy. That reveal felt like something I saw coming but still enjoyed watching unfold. What really sealed it for me though was the absolute rage I felt when everything about Aoife’s past came to light, not just what she did to Kaden’s ancestors, but to her own brother and his mother too. That level of betrayal made her one of those characters you don’t just hate, you want to personally deal with. And now I’m just sitting here impatiently waiting because I need to know what happens next.

The War of Love and Ruin by E.W. Crowe is a dark fantasy romance that continues the emotional and magical journey of Max and Kade in a compelling way.

As the queen of the dark fae, Max is faced with the challenge of finding a cure for Kade’s curse, leading her into dangerous territory and difficult choices. The story expands the world further while maintaining a strong emotional focus on the relationship between the two characters.

One of the strongest aspects of the book is the connection between Max and Kade. Their bond feels earned through everything they have experienced across the series, and this installment provides a satisfying continuation to their story.

The fantasy elements, political tensions, and emotional stakes work together to create an engaging atmosphere that keeps the story moving while still allowing room for the romance to shine.

Overall, The War of Love and Ruin is a strong addition to the series and a rewarding continuation for readers invested in Max and Kade’s journey. It is definitely a story worth revisiting.

ARC Review

I am really grateful for receiving this ARC and i could wait to read it. I managed to finish it within a few hours. It just captured my attention from the prologue and made me want to find out what happens in the end.

The one thing I love the most is that Max's first goal or thought was to save Kaden even if it meant the world got destroyed in the process. It just shows how much she loves him and how protective she is of him. I love how it shows that true love can triumph all.

The plot twist was good. I honestly just loved the entire book. My own problem with it was that the ending felt a bit rushed and I wish it was a bit longer. I was also not ready for the book to end so quickly especially after the very anticipated upcoming battle was not included in detail. I would have loved for that to have been a chapter itself just so that I could see the how everyone was during and after the battle.

Overall 4.7⭐️

This series was phenomenal from start to finish. You truly get everything—romance, fantasy, emotion, and depth and I’m honestly so sad it’s over. It’s one of those series you simply can’t put down.

I absolutely adore this author’s writing and her characters. She blends dark romance and fantasy so effortlessly, and the way she wrapped everything up was just so well done.

This series actually pulled me out of a major book slump. I received an ARC (my first one, I’m pretty sure), and it completely reignited my love for reading!

I’ll definitely be ordering the trophy edition for this one because this is a series I need on my shelf forever. I already have the other two ! I’ve read everything by this author, and I’ll continue to read anything she writes! She is just that good!

Honestly, her books are just as good, if not better, than Sarah J. Maas. Even though they’re shorter, you get just as much (if not more) packed into them.

ARC REVIEW - Pieces Of Me

Thank you to E.D. Crowe and Love Notes PR for the ARC.

This book was such a good conclusion to the The Blood Witch Chronicles, while the plot was semi predictable it was still an enjoyable read. How Crowe handled some of the situations and resolved them were also good and more unpredictable (trying not to give any spoilers).

I really liked that I could feel the love/connection that Kaden and Max had for each other and the way they never gave up even when it felt like the odds were heavily stacked against them. The ending was also precious to me because they got the ending they fought so hard to have.

What I didn’t like was that at times it felt repetitive and that I was reading the same monologue for the 10th time. I also didn’t like that Max wasn’t fully listening to other, more wise people’s advice, and if she would’ve it would have greatly helped her.

Review: I lied, I did not have this book or plot figured out…. but First and foremost- Aofie sucks. The plot of this trilogy was SO good and SO strong the entire time, I never once thought it veered or slowed down! Max FINALLY grew into the BA I thought she would be, and I am so incredibly proud of her! THIS IS HEARTBREAK CENTRAL, AND I'M NOT OK. This was was a beautiful ending to the trilogy, and I wish I could read it for the first time again. Hands down, going to be a shelf trophy 🏆

Dislikes: NOT THE HADEON 😭
And then you almost take Baris?!?
THERE BETTER BE SOEMTHING IN THE WORKS FOR MAL & Fee and Reid & Lyla, or I will absolutely riot.

5 ⭐ and this book absolutely DESTROYED me in the best way 😮‍🔥🖤

The War of Love and Ruin takes everything to the next level—higher stakes, deeper emotions, and a love that’s literally fighting against fate itself 👀

Max is out here trying to save her mate while the entire world is basically on the verge of collapse… and the way the story forces her to choose?? Brutal. The tension between love and duty is CONSTANT, and it hits harder with every chapter 🔥

Kaden’s curse?? Heartbreaking. Watching him slip further into something monstrous while their bond weakens had me STRESSED. And the political tension between courts, hidden enemies, betrayals… yeah, trust NO ONE.

This book blends epic fantasy, war, prophecy, and a soulmate bond that refuses to break—even when everything is trying to tear it apart.

✨ Read this if you love:
🖤 fated mates + soul bonds
🔥 “save him or save the world” stakes
👑 fae courts, politics & betrayal
⚔️ war, prophecy, and destiny
💔 angst, tension, and emotional DAMAGE

Epic, emotional, and completely consuming—I’m still not over it 🖤

The War of Love and Ruin gave me everything I needed to conclude this trilogy! It was so bitter sweet reading because while I have been so excited to know how this story ends, I also cant believe I just read the last book.

The story moved along quickly and still had me on the edge of my chair because everytime things seemed to go well, there was another twist that had me screaming! My girl Max took no breaks. She had one of my favorite character developments ever. What a different Maximillia we get from book one to now. I loved her jealously, her protectiveness and her honesty.

I can’t recommend this Dark Romantasy enough! It was so well written and left me wanting nothing more. I’m so happy to have had the opportunity to ARC read for E.D. Crowe. These characters will live rent free in my head forever!

⭐️ 4.5/5 ARC ⭐️

Strong start to the final book in the trilogy: you learn who made the beast curse and why - her aunt EFFY sounds like she’s a sour, petty woman. The only way to fully break the curse is with “her blood and love” - not 100% sure how she was gonna do it, and neither was she. Baris, he father, was being cryptic so that didn’t help. So she asks for help from Aoife - she was sus from the beginning and I should’ve trusted my gut!!
A big twist and shit hits the fan - I wasn’t ready.
I am absolutely invested in Fee and Mal, Layla and Reid’s story - please please do a spin off? 🥹

I received an ARC for this book, started with book one in the series and I think I’ve found another favourite series and author - absolutely fantastic. You should be very proud of the writing and stories you put out!

WOW what a conclusion to this series!

I binged all three back-to-back-to-back thanks to Love Notes PR.

I loved the twist on the Grimm fairy tale which was already dark.

Now, I did feel like it was mildly repetitive and it could have been concluded in two books with a novella but that's my personal opinion.

The banter and growth between Kaden and Max was beautiful and I was SO UPSET when Aoife messed with that. The spice was on point and didn't overwhelm the story line.

Losing Baris I think might have been unnecessary as having him around longer could have potentially rounded things out, like having him there for the coronation and whatnot.

I would have loved to see more of the conflict with Griffin or Zelos too.

Overall, this series was a great retelling of the Grimm Beauty and the Beast!

Thank you to Love notes for this copy of the book. I read this entire trilogy in the space of 4 days. I gotta say my favourite was book 2.
There are some brilliant ideas in this series, fated mates, dark fae and witches, lost histories, rare magic, blood magic, family politics it’s just a treasure trove of delicious story and I loved it.
It’s got bully romance vibes, Kaden is one big walking gorgeous red flag but despite thinking it will never happen him and max are made for each other.
I love how the story just fits, I’m not ready for it to end.
The only reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because the ending felt rushed. You are gearing up for this big battle with the big bad and it faded to black so I wasn’t keen on that - I could have done with a book 4.
But great character arcs, brilliant storytelling and a fantastic trilogy.

Me “I’ve not cried today” …..proceeds to sob for the last 20% of the book.
I was so sad that this series was coming to an end. From the very start of Max and Kaden’s story I have been obsessed. Book 3 was so beautifully written I was becoming unhinged whenever somebody interrupted my reading time.
The whole way through Max is absolutely determined she is saving Kaden, that she will choose him over everybody and anything. Watching her grow into her power more and more throughout the series was….i don’t have the words to describe what it felt like. The twists and turns had me experiencing a rollercoaster of emotions. I’m extremely attached to certain side characters (my sweet baby angel Reid) so if E ever feels like writing his story I will be first in line to read it.

COULD. NOT. PUT. IT. DOWN! I love this series so much; this couple has my heart!! The shit they have been through breaks my heart so much! I don’t know how many times my heart could be broken, but this book certainly pushes my limits! 😩😩

This book was such a great conclusion to Max and Kaden’s story! I felt everything Max felt, and it honestly felt like I was in the world with them; the world building, the emotions, and all the plot twists kept me hooked right to the end, which was over too fast. I didn’t want to leave them; I loved them so much.

I want more of the siblings!! They are so much fun, and I would seriously love to see more of them!! I hope there may be some in the future, as I will definitely read them!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️

E.D. Crowe absolutely delivers with this epic conclusion to Kaden and Max’s story. From enemies to lovers to a love that withstands every betrayal and trial, this series easily lands as a top romantasy favorite for me.

Max is a powerhouse FMC—fierce, loyal, and unwilling to choose between saving the world and saving Kaden. Even when he’s lost to the beast, her faith in their bond never wavers. And Kaden? Even at his lowest, his devotion to Max remains undeniable.

The stakes are high, the emotions hit hard, and the story doesn’t hold back. Add in incredible side characters, and you get a finale that feels both intense and deeply satisfying. The ending ties everything together perfectly with a well-earned HEA.

The War of Love and Ruin is a beautiful fantasy series. This is book three, where Maximillia’s quest to save her mate, Kaden, from a monstrous curse is both heart wrenching and exhilarating.
The transition from the secretive Black Court to the opulent Woodland Kingdom is beautifully rendered, providing a rich backdrop for a plot filled with ancient prophecies and deep seated betrayals. The book expertly balances the brewing war between fae and humans with the intimate, desperate love between the two main characters. A gripping, fast paced read that forces its characters to choose between personal happiness and the fate of the world. This is an absolute must read for any fantasy lover! I love this series! 💛

I really enjoyed the third and final book in The Blood Witch Chronicles series ~ it was such a satisfying ending. Max and Kaden’s bond is beautiful; they never give up on each other, no matter what is thrown at them, and they’ve come so far since the beginning of the series. I adored the ways they expressed their love for each other through both words and actions.

"Say the words, kitten, and I will gladly kneel for you" 🫠

I also loved the seeing the heartwarming dynamic again between Kaden, Max, Reid, and Fee (even though we see less of them together) and I really enjoyed seeing more of some of the side characters.

I did feel like parts of the first half of the book were a little slow and repetitive, with similar internal monologues being repeated, which sometimes made it hard to stay fully engaged. But I loved the direction E.D. Crowe took with the backstory being intertwined with saving Kaden, adding more depth. The second half of the story was definitely the best part revealing unexpected twists.

Overall, such a great dark romantasy series and one to add to your TBR if you love a strong heroine and an epic love story, like Beauty and the Beast, except they’re both misunderstood monsters.

Thank you for the opportunity to ARC read.

The story dives right in from where book two ended, and the author does not hold back 😭 Max has easily become one of my favorite fierce FMCs. As she uncovers more truths about her past and is faced with betrayal on all sides, everyone is urging her to let Kaden go and focus on saving the world—but she refuses to make that choice.

Her resolve to fight for both paths, and especially her unwavering love for Kaden, was so powerful. Even when he’s nothing more than a shell of who he once was, she never stops believing in him or in their bond. That kind of loyalty and faith? Absolutely everything 🔥✨

I waited, so excited for the third book and now I’m wondering why not another 3 more?! This book wasn’t simply dealing with Kaden’s curse. All the build up of Kaden’s love for Max is now in limbo bc he’s not himself and their entire relationship/kingdom/world rests on Max’s shoulders. She never falters in her love for him and leans on those around her. So much happens it’s a wild ride. I truly think the last third of the book could’ve been blown open to be a fourth in the series, but I’m greedy and evidently cannot get enough of all this series. There is definitely room for spinoffs with so many interesting and lovable side characters and couples. I really loved this series!

A brilliant conclusion to this trilogy! I got the HEA I was looking for and a love that overcomes all odds.

The twists and turns had me on the edge of my seat. I was also so invested in the history and magic of this world.

Max and Kade have a beautiful connection. I loved how they fought for each other and never gave up. It was an emotional roller-coaster..

Overall, a well written plot that was just a little bit predictable. That didn't lessen my enjoyment. Highly recommend adding this trilogy to your TBR.
