Rate this book
Some partnerships are worth a second chance.

Hugo has his life perfectly calculated—spreadsheets color-coded, risks minimized, and emotions carefully managed. Which is exactly why volunteering for a low-key community project seems like the perfect holiday activity. No complications, no surprises.

Enter creative, spontaneous, and the ex-boyfriend Hugo spent two years trying to forget. When the Tinsel & Tingles app pairs them to create the town's winter tree lighting ceremony, backing out isn't an option.

Between late-night planning sessions and moments that feel dangerously familiar, Hugo starts to realize that some things are harder to budget for than others. Like what happens when the practical one learns to dream again, and the dreamer finally learns to plan.

This Christmas, the most magical transformations are the ones you never saw coming.

A standalone M/M holiday romance with open-door heat, winter storms, and a guaranteed HEA. Book 3 in the Tinsel & Tingles series—where a cheeky dating app creates the perfect holiday matches

A Christmas project is the present of a previous relationship

Author Bree Hollis introduces her enchanting application, Tinsel and Tingles, to facilitate the reunion of two men who previously experienced a failed romantic relationship. Hugo is renowned for his expertise with spreadsheets; he is organized, pragmatic, and cost-conscious. His former romantic interest, Quinn, is more aligned with the arts and design, exhibiting a disregard for expenses, rent, and practical considerations. This fundamental difference led to their separation two years prior.

Currently, they collaborate to organize a magical Christmas Tree lighting ceremony for their town. Although Quinn's initial designs are somewhat expensive, he is now receptive to suggestions for more economical alternatives that achieve the same objectives.

Hugo's cost-saving recommendations are readily embraced by Quinn, who initially regretted working alongside his former partner. However, Quinn has evolved, demonstrating a willingness to be more pragmatic and cost-effective while preserving his vision of transforming the town square into an enchanting setting for the lighting ceremony.

The underlying chemistry between them remains evident. Quinn admits that he now perceives Hugo's previous actions as sincere efforts to assist him, rather than dismissive of his ideas. Quinn has become more collaborative and open to suggestions, and he expresses a desire to be with Hugo. Their relationship deepens as they share a kiss during the planning process. The story progresses, overcoming a snowstorm that halted town activities and addressing doubts harbored by some community members.

Ms. Hollis’s world-building includes female friends who support the couple's union, as well as Quinn’s family, who see their son in a better place being with Hugo.

It is worth noting that the app plays only a minor role in facilitating this particular romance, especially in comparison to its more snarky and suggestive functions in other books within the series.

This narrative is a delightful, low-angst story that portrays love overcoming past mistakes and issues, culminating in a happy ending that is both affirming and beautiful.
