Aw, sorry, baby girl. You know I don't do overnights.

She's the songwriter behind his international indie rock superstar career, and, he's not ready to settle down. Not until his career is in a good place. Then one day Kingsley finally goes official. . . with another woman who is better for his image.
Rosalie is out. She's done with him. But it turns out Kingsley can't stand her indifference and suddenly he's desperate to get back what they had and more. But could he ever convince Rosalie he's serious about committing to her?
Author's This is a novella-length book with a very petty FMC and extreme grovel.
Katie Landry, I am sorry I doubted you my silly queen. I enjoyed this bonkers book with its bonkers plot and bonkers characters. Please keep writing delightful pea-brained men and fmcs with backbone of steel. I think she’s one of the authors who can make me read these type of things 😭
DNF. This is awful 😖 Hero is a spoilt brat and heroine has no self respect. She is fwb but secretly in love with him... why I'm not sure. He is with women on tour she deals with the fall out and is with him in between. This goes on for 5 years, she goes to him when he calls then puts up with him with other women because he's 'not into having a girlfriend '. She stops it quick into the story and he acts like a spoilt child not getting his own way.
Just no.

Status Quo for this author. H is a rockstar and the h is the secret behind his success. They’ve been bff’s with benefits since college- 5 years. He doesn’t want commitment because it’s bad for his brand. Then all Of a sudden — right after he has called the fmc away from a date— texting her for a blowiie- which he gets— he announces to the world he’s in a relationship with the harp player for the band. The h goes off on him and quits but they continue touring and she make him suffer and grovel to get her back. He’s a good groveler I’ll give him that.

The ow is my favourite character ❤️😂❤️😂 She’s a sweetheart, shy, sheltered, naive Adores the heroine MORE than she likes the H❤️😂❤️😂 Endearing and cute and silly girlie pearly like a dolly named Dolly She’s only around because he needs good PR to clean up his image I doubt she initially knew she’s being used but she finds out along the way and it’s not heartbreaking at all because of the way she’s written❤️🫶🏻❤️🫶🏻
He’s a self confessed “scumbag”. No, like truly he is Kinda hard to like He's only redeeming quality is his absolute obsession with the h He treats her like shite but when she moves on he’s like a crazy lost OTT malfunctioning manchild She does EVERYTHING for him, the band, like up to writing his PR responses. LOL He’s useless without her Now that she’s blindsided by the advent of Dolly she’s so angry and hurt that she quits the band and him Chaos ensues She fights the good fight resulting in him becoming this screaming angry bewildered uncontrollable foolish person IN PUBLIC. Their manager literally keeled over and passed out during one of his ranting shenanigans.
His is the best asshole-grovel I read lately This weak immature man begs on his knees for another chance Being the cocky idiot he is, it doesn’t start off well but he gets the hang of it He will NEVER cheat on her Never take advantage of her devotion to him again But he will remain a douchebag because that’s his way
They’ve been best friends with benefits for yearsss He has other lovers only really when she’s not around
This is meant to be, I’m sure, a light spicy read so I don’t think of it as romance as such Nothing to write home about and only somewhat entertaining Hence my “not too bad” review 1.5 stars
I got talked into giving this one a whirl by a friend who was super into it. Like, girl power, fuck that guy, make him crawl!
If that's what you want, you're in the right place.
I thought it was kind of meh, because it was filled with stuff that almost never works for me.
-he is an absolute manwhore -fmc/MMC had a FWB relationship for 5 years -i didn't love the power imbalance between them -it is way too short to believably work this out
But I think my bigger problem was that in the beginning, she was pathetic and he was a total piece of shit. She's been hopelessly in love with him for years, coming to bang whenever he crooks his finger, despite knowing he's constantly banging every female he encounters. He takes her for granted, but she allows it. It's awful enough that I didn't even want them to end up together.
When she is finally done, at first I gave her points for not caving like a weak-willed ninny. But then the grovel got so extreme that it felt ridiculous, and in the end, he was the pathetic one.
82% in and while I was enjoying this book with the full knowledge that these characters are immature and selfish, I have now reached a point in the story where a sex foot scene is happening and I just can’t anymore.
I LOATHE foot fetish anything!
This is such a gross subject and for there to actually be a sex scene about it has guaranteed I will NEVER give a high rating or read this book again. I thought I would give this the rating I gave to Prince Cheating Charming as that is the only other book I’ve liked by this author. That was because the OTT nature of this author’s writing style worked in that plotline. This book was working in that same way for me up until this nasty ass kink popped up. Ugh.
FINAL UPDATE
The book ends at 94%. Then there’s a sneak peek excerpt for this author’s next cheating book. This book ended with more foot references and it was just ruined for me.
Basically the FMC has been in an FWB/BFF/manager/business relationship with the MMC since they met five plus years ago in college. She allowed herself to be everything he needs to succeed while also not being a clinger because she loves him from first sight. It wouldn’t bother me if it wasn’t for the fact that she would allow herself to be used by him at HIS convenience even when she has known he has had sex with other women right before her. Meaning there is a flashback to a Valentine’s Day during college where she thought it was going to be more important than it turned out to be. It ended up being a bootycall visit where after having sex together, she finds MULTIPLE used condoms in his waste basket from the same day from before she had arrived at his place. Did she say or do anything about it? No. She stays and has MORE unprotected sex with the MMC and this is what their relationship has been like for all their years together. She has been content with his non-promises that he isn’t a relationship kind of person and the other doosey that they need to wait until his career is secure and more financially stable before she can get any credit in his life.
I don’t understand a person like this. The author also doesn’t give us any background on either character to explain away any of these behaviors or decisions. The desperation to not lose someone who is clearly not yours to begin with. Why anyone would stay as a secret in another person’s life is just not explained enough or barely acknowledged.
Then the MMC goes public with a relationship to some guest band member (OW) just after the FMC had given him a blowjob and that’s when the FMC finally has enough. I felt the author wrote that scene like the FMC’s eye started twitching from how she had snapped mentally from this betrayal of her and her feelings. At least in my minds eye that’s what I pictured lol. She starts ignoring him, not participating in any decisions that need making regarding this tour they are on. But she doesn’t actually leave. No actual plans were being made to get on with her life. She refuses more sex with the MMC though. So I guess that’s something. Barely, but something.
Over the course of the rest of the book which is timed as about 72 hours plot time, the MMC escalates in horniness because he can’t use the FMC anymore and now all of a sudden he doesn’t want anyone else. Yeah, I don’t believe that BS but whatever, that’s what the author wrote. He wheedles, he whines, he lashes out at this other hanger on, a college friend (OM) who is now sleeping with the FMC instead of him. He’s yelling about “bro code” when apparently this long time guy friend of theirs didn’t even realize that the MMC/FMC had always had a thing going on for all those years. Idk how a person who knows both characters for the same amount of time doesn’t pick up on something going on between them, but I got the impression the author was making this OM out to be nothing more than a sweet dumb career jock. Again, whatever, I didn’t write the story.
So three days page time of the MMC spiraling over the FMC. Begging her to give him a second chance and the FMC ignoring him and having sex with the OM. The FMC is also manipulating the OW away from the MMC’s fake relationship to push her towards the OM instead. The conversations between the FMC and the OM got a little convoluted in what I interpreted as a breakup scene where she points him in the direction of the OW.
Seriously, it was stupid and poorly written. These characters are childish and it doesn’t take genius writing to get dumb non-dimensional characters to do dumb things but it should at least be legible!
Then the MMC literally crawls for the FMC in front of everyone while telling them she’s the brains behind his dumbass. How anyone didn’t already know that from his complete inability to articulate on his own, idk! But that’s how they got back together.
When you go into a wannabe campy story, you understand that it’s probably going to be below your intelligence level but it can still be quite enjoyable in its own way. However, this was missing so much effort. It really did ramble incomprehensibly for a few pages towards the end like it was written, not edited and just forgotten about simply to get to the final pages. It misses setting, backstories, character growth, an actual story arch or depth. I can’t even say this is fluff because there was nothing likable about the characters or the HEA. I mean they had a random day Elvis wedding less than a year later. These are supposed to be millionaire musicians but the wedding reads like trailer trash with only two pennies between them. Smdh.
Another bust for me by this author. I truly need to stop buying these books. I only ever like the betrayal scenes but then once the characters start playing out stupidly on page or the author humiliates the MMC’s as her form of remorse or redemption, I always feel like they all got the days they deserved and the HEA is a lie. That’s not how I want to end my romance books feeling.
Good luck.

But then about 65% of the way into the book it started reading kinda funny. Like it was translated from another language or written by AI. There was at least 2 entire chapters repeated so the book is even shorter that it was originally suppose to be, and it was already only less that 200 pages. The h arguments were never what I expected them to be. For example. They had an open relationship. He had sex with MANY other women, but she never was with anyone else. When she's FINALLY had enough and dates someone else, the H gets livid and jealous. But she NEVER confronts him with ALL the MANY MANY other women's hea been with. Never tells him how hurtful it was. She just keeps saying, over and over again, "I'm done with u". It was so unsatisfying. And then in the next moment, she's marrying him..??? Wth? I LOVE ALL KATIE LANDRY BOOKS, but I won't be rereading this one.
There were aspects of this book that I liked, such as the h basically being a taken-for-granted booty call. That was a nice, angsty setup. However, both of the main characters acted like such immature buffoons I really wasn’t feeling the love between them. The H was gross, but then the went and gross too! It was a heck of a lot of dysfunction, but an entertaining read nonetheless.
If you have read Katie Landry then you know what you are getting yourself in for. If you haven't well start here. King is a playboy sleeps with anything that moves including his best friend Ro who has had enough. She walked away and he spirals out of control. If you love a man on his knee's begging look no further.
The latest offering from Katie Landry serves up another strong heroine and a clueless, daft sex driven hero.I feel like I need to preface my review for those who have never read a Katie Landry story. She basically takes the romance trope and gives it a good shake. Her stories are entertaining, and are a great palate cleanser between some of the more heavy stories out there. Most of her stories are light and basically poke fun at the cheating trope by not letting the h wallow, but take charge. She is like the National Enquirer verses National Geographic when it comes to the stories she writes. For the younger readers out there who may have no clue, what the National Enquirer was, it is like she is the tik tok star, but not the Oscar winning actor. I love my tik tok videos, and I love my 2 hour movies…they both have a place in the entertainment world!
The premise of this story: the h, Rosalie has been best friends and fwb since her college days with Kingsley. He is a musician with a bad boy persona and she is the one to write the music(anonymously) She is first on his roster whenever he gets a hankering for sex, and he gets a hankering a lot. But she finds herself in love with Kingsley, and is waiting for the day he is ready to settle down….the day has come but it isn’t goth girl Rosalie he chooses it is sweet unassuming Dolly. Dolly can make him look good, and is a PR’s dream, while according to him he and Rosalie are better off as friends(with benefits) . Well, this is what Rosalie needed to kick the habit(Kingsley) She closes up shop with him and no longer plans on writing his lyrics. She starts weighing her options for a new man. This doesn’t go over well with Kingsley at all, and he is fit to be tied. The green eyed monster of jealousy has taken root, and he finally realizes that Rosalie is the one for him. Is it too late? Is everything as it seems? Will he be crawling on hands and knees to get her back?(actually yes to that last one lol) The story takes place over several days and then jumps forward 9 months. You may be thinking this all sounds a little angsty…but alas you would be wrong. Katie writes her characters to entertain us, even the ow Dolly and the om Matt are sweet, not problematic. This novella is meant to give you fun and take you away from the stress of the more involved stories out there. With this story expect sexy times, a foot fetish, and lots of ridiculousness that only Ms. Landry can deliver.
So technically these two aren’t together. They’ve been friends since college, essentially he’s her long term situationship. He’s a manwhore rockstar, and she seeing OM on the the side too. Problem is, She’s in love with him but he doesn’t do relationships. Well his agent wants him to land a biopic role, so he tries to rehab his image as a rockstar. He goes public with a gf, and this ends up being sis’s wake up call. She quits on the spot and starts doing her own thing, including moving on with OM. Honestly this is a short novella, with pathetic campy grovel, that had me so entertained. If you like a down bad MMC literally groveling on his knees.
Let's see Rosalie doesn't wake up from this nightmare of a man when he goes bare with her in college, then saw more than 2 condoms lay in the dustbin that evening No, she doesn't wake up when he is a massive massive manwhore since then I mean he is a addict at this point always leaking pipes...NO.....but she wakes up when he goes public with a new girlfriend....wow....so mature self respecting woman...she never gave chance to many good men because of this std ridden piece of shit....and she goes on one date and some public announcements wallah he is my forever.... I mean how can you go 5 years writing his songs and never getting acknowledged...just because she slept only one time with a nice person after the girlfriend saga doesn't make her strong...she is the embodiment of a massive dooooooorrrrmatttttttt......
A strong self sufficient woman will never come this far for this dick in the first place...but if she came 5 years with this shit at least leave his ass permanently find another good man.....he is a selfish self serving arrogant person always horny always leaky...grossss.....he will be 1000%cheat in future...I will guarantee that because life is not always sunshine...and his leaky things always I mean alwayssss need attention..
He grovelled?? My ass...he is just a kid who is sad as his own personal toy not falling for his feet... He got burned to see only one man giving his toy attention...but forgot to realise his own 1000s of roster of women he been thorough.....
Enough of my rant....just frustrating to see a stupid woman
I know that when reading a Katie Landry book I need to suspend reality COMPLETELY and I did.
BUT…
I didn’t like Kingsley. He knew Rosalie liked him from the jump and was okay with stringing her along as long as it benefited him. Don’t even get me started on him being mean to Dolly for no reason. Ugh 🙄
I’m probably going to get mobbed for this but I didn’t have any sympathy for Rosalie because she knew what it was from the start too but was okay with that man treating her like crap for FIVE YEARS! I mean she did finally find her spine but at this point I was so over both of them that the only thing that kept me reading was to find out if Matt and Dolly got together and were happy. They were and that’s a win for me so 🤷🏽♀️
You're telling me years of his manwhore ways and treating her like dirt and she forgives him in 72 hours??? How exactly do you figure he has changed his ways in three days simply because he got on his knees and crawled for you? Not to mention she let him have sex with her over and over without a condom. You just trust him that he's clean. I repeat, after years of man whoring with woman after random woman????? Ew. Hell no.
This story was not something I would normally pick up, but I think that's why I was drawn to it. I've been in a weird slump lately, but this ridiculous book caught my attention and I sped read right through it. Kings was an a-hole who didn't deserve Rose who saved his ass too many times to count. I enjoyed seeing him regret his decisions and make a complete fool of himself for Rose once he realized he actually cared for her. The reconciliation was decent, but overall there was nothing overly spectacular.
Note to self: filthy manho. 🤮 Does he even shower between his women?? 🤢 Scene from the past where he booty calls the h, they have smex, she goes to his bathroom to clean up afterwards, smells vanilla bodyspray and sees the apparently just used condoms in the trash can. Gross 🤮

Easy read that has a friend's with benefits going serious in the end. Not to be taken seriously. Some comedic parts. Strong FMC and a simp of an MMC in the end. Oh, and there's a foot fetish and lot's of bodily fluids 😆.
Additional tropes: ✅Unrequited ✅Friends with benefits
Detailed spoilers/trigger warnings (if any) and final thoughts can be found below.
Rosalie has known Kingsley since college, when he was a struggling artist just trying to make it in the music industry. They started as friends, which quickly turned into friends with benefits. The FMC has served as his songwriter, while never receiving any credit for it. But she was okay with that, because she wanted to see him succeed, but also she was madly in love with him.
As he has grown successful, and the years have passed, she has always secretly hoped that he would return her feelings, even though he has consistently maintained he is not in a place to have a relationship. So when he announces that he is involved with someone, which is only for appearance sake but the FMC doesn’t know that, she decides that she is absolutely done. She no longer wants to work for him, with him, or even have a friendship with him.
Believing her behavior is temporary, the MMC attempts to just continue things the way that they are, but the FMC isn’t responding to that and it’s really starting to have a deep effect on him. He realizes he is, in fact, in love with her and sets about to grovel and earn her forgiveness, but is it too late is the question?
⚠️SPOILERS/SPICE/DETAILED TRIGGERS⚠️
🌶️: 2.5/5
Final thoughts: Do not read a Katie Landry book unless you can handle the absurdness. I feel like enough people have been warned at this point of her writing style. So unless you can handle that, do not read her books.
With that being said, this wasn’t my favorite by her, but it still had so much of the things that I liked about her writing. I loved the FMC in this book. She was the definition of FAFO. Once she resolved that she was done, she was done, and it took a lot for the MMC to break through that. So for as short as this book is, I feel like the grovel was adequate, but also that the FMC put him through the wringer just enough for him to realize what he had done. So yes, I definitely recommend this one.

This one disappointed me a lot. Now bear in mind, this author is EXCEPTIONAL and most of her books I love. And I’m always down for a woman who owns her sexuality, but this one left me feeling icky. I just couldn’t deal with how he treated her and unlike the first book in the series, I didn’t believe he loved her.
All the things he said and did, I don’t care that he was a rockstar. He was a pig and she deserved better. But worse than that, I had no respect for her. She didn’t protect her health by watching him hook up with all those different people and still being with him too. It was a HFN not a HEA, and that’s pushing it.
Overall: ⭐️⭐️½ Couple: Kings & Rosalie ❋❋❋❋❋❋ Katie's books are always a good fun time, they are over the top and you know what you're going to get. I did finish this one but it was definitely my least favorite. Kings for me didn't have anything likable about him and Rosalie didn't have any self respect. There were some good times to be had between this group of toxic people on the road but the HEA was not really believable.
This had to be the worst mmc I’ve ever read he literally had a “roster” of woman on his phone and was in a “fake” relationship for image purposes but its okay baby because we only had sex once or twice at most no big deal now kiss me…. WTF Also he wanted to suck her toes
The fmc don’t get me started wtf was she even in love with this man I have no clue? Get a backbone hunny.

What an annoying and infuriating story. The MMC is a self-centered, idiotic arsehole! And the FMC is a spineless, moronic fool. I mean the last straw was him declaring someone else his gf? Not being intimate with him after he had his fill with 3 to 4 other women in the afternoon?! I’m sorry but I don’t like reading about whining stupid characters. Not my cup of tea!! I DNF it!!!
I don’t like the FMC much, to be honest. Yeah, okay he was a scumbag, but she knew that going in and still stayed with him for YEARS. Then when she says she’s serious about it being over and he tries to change his ways she’s actually pretty cold and cruel. I don’t love a cruel character.
The toe-thing was new though. Interesting…
(Was it just me or did it feel a little like a really, really condensed version of The Words by Ashley Jade??)
I wish these wouldn’t devolve so much into the ridiculous. How am I supposed to be happy with this HEA when the hero lost all common sense? Yes, I love to see him suffer. Yes, I want him groveling. Yes, I like that he doesn’t care about anything but her. But he just turned me off completely by the end. I don’t even think it was the toe-sucking. It was just him.
That being said, I love a heroine with a backbone - especially when she finds it after living as a doormat. This one was great and just had zero fucks to give about any of this man’s shit. I loved her.
I gave it 4 stars because it was so OTT that it was hilarious. There's no way the author meant this book to be taken seriously. I mean, look at this quote!
I couldn’t even look at her without my cock stiffening in my pants, leaking uncomfortably down my leg.
Ummm brother, maybe you need to see a doctor? 🤭
I also didn't quite care for the fact that it felt so like the 90s tv show Friends, where everybody somehow ends up sleeping with each other at some point. I don't know if Rosalie slept with Matt to make Kingsley jealous or to try to prove to him (and herself) that she didn't care and that she was moving on. She says she knows that she's not a good match for Matt even though he has a crush on her... so isn't sleeping with him just leading him on?
Then she gets the idea to matchmake Matt with Dolly, Kingsley's fake fiancée, who is very sweet and sheltered and the total opposite of Rosalie. And they do end up together... But Kingsley had sex with Dolly twice while they were fake dating, "to be polite," he says, although he also claims that Dolly was boring in bed because she didn't challenge him the way Rosalie did.
So everyone's ok with all this musical chairs in sexual partners. Matt didn't know Kingsley and Rosalie had been friends with benefits for years before he (Matt) slept with her.
I also didn't like the BBS (Body Betrayal Syndrome) that Rosalie experienced with Kingsley, which was why she continued to let him f*** her for five years even though she knew about his "roster" of women and knew that he was also dipping his 🍆 into others. I felt like she had no self-respect because she wanted more but refused to demand more, instead she accepted the crumbs that he gave.
However, it was good that once Kingsley announced he was dating Dolly, Rosalie immediately decided there was no point waiting and that she was done with him... and didn't allow BBS to take over, even though Kingsley tried to use their physical chemistry and his intimate knowledge of her body & what she liked against her, to try to get her to change her mind.
Kingsley sounded unhinged in the chapters from his POV, and again this was so OTT that it was hilarious. He unravels fast when Rosalie refuses to speak to him, and even faster when he finds out she is having sex with Matt -- once, he even walks in on them doing the act. Rosalie points out that it only took 72 hours for him to decide that he's a relationship guy, after having told her repeatedly for years that he doesn't do relationships.
Was the grovel satisfying? Hmmm. I didn't feel there was much grovel, since as Rosalie says it was only 72 hours. But you can hear in Kingsley's thoughts that he's fixated on Rosalie and he's absolutely certain that he can't function without her. Their lives are entwined in so many ways that he panics when he realises, for example, that she's not there to do warm-up vocal exercises with him before he goes on stage, as she usually always does. And he tries to warm up by himself but it doesn't feel right, and his voice later doesn't come out right when he tries to sing during the concert.
He does try his bumbling best to show Rosalie that he's committed to her and wants no one else but her. I liked two out of the three gestures he made:
He was a horndog who sticks his 🍆 in anything with boobs, so I really did not think much of him. On the other hand, he and Rosalie have a lot of history -- and not only in bed. There are a lot of shared memories tying them together, like little rituals and habits that they do with each other; and they know things about each other that no one else knows. So the "grovel", such as it is, is believable on that basis. You can understand why he would suddenly find it so easy to commit to Rosalie the moment he figures out how important she is to him.
It's a quick read with high entertainment factor 😄
