Absolutely adored this one!
Veda and Royal completely stole my heart. There’s just something irresistible about that black‑cat/golden‑retriever dynamic, and these two embodied it perfectly. Royal was a sweetheart from page one—steady, devoted, and all‑in on Veda without hesitation. And Veda? A total badass who slowly, beautifully softened in his orbit.
One thing I really loved was how effortlessly Royal shifted from his gentle, caring self to a more dominant edge during the spicy moments. It was hot, it fit his character, and it made their chemistry absolutely electric. These two sparked every time they were on the page together.
And can we talk about the joy of no third‑act breakup? Truly a gift. It let the story focus on growth, connection, and partnership instead of unnecessary drama.
This is hands‑down my favourite book in the King sibling series so far. The writing was fantastic as always—engaging, emotional, and addictive. My only tiny gripe is wishing we didn’t have to sign up for the author’s newsletter every time just to access the extra epilogue.
Highly recommend if you love strong heroines, golden‑retriever heroes with a spicy streak, and couples with off‑the‑charts chemistry.
