Georgia is an Australian romance author who writes heartfelt and steamy contemporary romances. Her stories feature competent heroines who are still figuring out what they want from life, and heroes who’ve got emotional baggage to unpack.

When not consuming copious amounts of pop-culture (mostly romance novels), she can be found singing in a choir, eating an endless amount of carbs, or being overly competitive at board games and trivia.

Georgia’s debut novel, Four Night Stand, released in March 2024. It’s a spicy, forced proximity workplace romance set in Sydney, Australia.

Her steamy Christmas romance novella, Checking You Twice, is out now in eBook and paperback.

With Christmas almost here Nikki is determined not to spend it alone. Her sister Jill now lives in America and Nikki travels to surprise her, but finds Jill is on holiday and her house already has a house sitter

Nikki is shocked to learn her ex Harrison is looking after Jill’s house. Harrison moved to America following a dream job.

Nikki has so many questions as to why Harrison ended their relationship and Harrison now face to face with Nikki is determined to win her back

A delightful festive novella with plenty of spice I couldn’t put this down! I loved both Nikki and Harrison, their characters were wonderful and real

Featuring fabulous tropes ;

CHECKING YOU TWICE is a festive delight that delivers bucketloads of emotion and a sexy, joyful reunion at Christmas for readers who love their Christmas reads with a side of spice 🔥

I first met protagonists Nikki and Harrison in a short story Georgia Moore wrote for the Christmas anthology, MY TRUE LOVE GAVE TO ME. The story was my favourite from the collection, so when I found out Georgia was delving deeper into their story and turning it into a novella, I was very happy indeed!

CHECKING YOU TWICE is a second chance romance with Aussie characters in a US setting, so the rekindling and reuniting happens during a white Christmas. Magic!

This is a romance where the feelings aren’t surface level, these characters feel the pain of their separation and the depth of their love for one another. It’s expressed beautifully within the limitations of the novella form and Georgia’s writing pulls you into the hearts and minds of this hurting but hopeful pair.

What a joy this book was to read! An absolute must for your Christmas reading list. I’ve already ordered myself a physical copy for my shelves.

CHECKING YOU TWICE is full of sugar and spice and all things nice!

I received an early e-copy for review.

If you are after a sweet and sexy Christmas novella about a second chance romance, then this novella is for you this holiday season 🎄
Nikki decides to fly from Australia to America to surprise her sister Jill for Christmas only to find out that Jill and her wife have gone away for the holidays and the person who is housesitting for them is Harrison, Nikki’s ex who only just fourth months ago broke her heart when he dumped her and moved to America. This was a sweet story of two people finding there way back to each other and showing that home can be a person rather than a place 💙

The thing I really enjoy about novellas is that they show a quick slice of the lives of their characters, and I felt like I fell into the lives of Harry and Nikki straight away.

I liked the way the characters were navigating a confusing, messy breakup and how they started to make their way back to one another. I don't mind miscommunication, and in this novella it serves an important purpose, but I was still hoping all the characters would be a bit more upfront with one another from time to time.

This novella does a great job of capturing the complexities of relationships, especially at an emotional time like Christmas.

Thank you so much to Georgia Moore for the ARC 🥰

Happy Publication Week to Georgia Moore’s steamy new holiday novella, Checking You Twice which I devoured in one sitting. I love a good festive read and the chemistry between the two MCs in this second chance romance was absolutely electric.

When Nikki arrives in Leavenworth to surprise her sister, Jill, for Christmas, she’s devastated to discover that Jill and her wife are away for the season. Instead, she’s greeted by their house sitter, Harrison, who also happens to be the ex she’s still trying to get over. Harrison left Australia for his dream job and broke Nikki’s heart in the process. Nikki was not prepared to see him again or for him to confess that he wants her back. However, with their attraction as strong as ever, Nikki will have to decide whether it’s worth checking him twice.

Checking You Twice was a wonderfully swoony read with some of my favourite tropes, forced proximity and second chance romance. The magical Christmas setting complete with snow, was the perfect place to rekindle their romance and the journey to get to that happily ever after had me hooked. Harrison and Nikki were both such gorgeous characters and I was very invested in their relationship. I also loved the bond that Nikki had with her sister Jill, having never spent a Christmas apart and able to tell each other everything.

If you’re looking for a quick and captivating Christmas romance read, then this one is definitely for you.

Happy Publication Day @georgiamoorewriter 🎄

Checking You Twice.
By: Georgia Moore

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5

Nikki was not at all prepared to see Harrison on her Christmas holiday season. All she wanted to do was surprise her sister Jill with her visit.

She finds that Jill isn't home for the Christmas season and her house is house sitting by the least person expected Harrison.

The house is small and the tension between them is electric more than ever. With Harrison trying his best to fight for Nikki for a second chance, Nikki has to make her decision to see if Harrison is worth checking him twice.

Tropes to look forward to

✨🎄Checking You Twice by Georgia Moore🎄✨

This book is everything I want in a Christmas romance. Beautifully messy emotions, snowy small-town charm, and a hero who is absolutely determined to win back the love of his life ❤️🔥

Checking You Twice had me hooked from the moment Nikki walked into her sister’s house and discovered Harrison standing there, looking like a heartbreak she never really got over. Cue the snow, the close quarters, and the kind of emotional tension that makes you want to hug the book 🥰💖

Georgia absolutely nails the second-chance vibe. Nikki is such a relatable heroine, and Harrison? Absolutely fighting-for-his-girl energy. There is banter, tension, sweet moments, and scenes with enough steam to fog up a frosty window 😜🔥 The way these two unravel their past while navigating the tiny house, the holiday cheer, and their undeniable spark had me flipping pages like crazy 🎅🏼✨ It is cosy, sexy, and full of genuine warmth 💖💖

If you love holiday romances that mix heart-tugging emotion, forced proximity, seriously sizzling chemistry, and a little Christmas magic sprinkled on top, Checking You Twice needs to be on your festive TBR! 🎄❤️🔥🎅🏼✨💖

BOOK 128 OF 2025 📚

💙 CHECKING YOU TWICE - GEORGIA MOORE  💙

Rating: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Summary: This novella follows Nikki, who flies to suprise her sister in America, only to find the man, Harry, who broke her heart, house sitting for her sister. Nikki and Harry's chemistry is undeniable, but Nikki is still heartbroken and has to decide whether he is worth the risk again.

What I loved: This was such a cute and short Christmas read! It gave me all the fun and sweet Christmas vibes, and made me so excited. The characters were written well for a short story. I felt there was enough characterisation and little bits of depth to keep me satisfied, and they really complemented each other so well. I appreciated how they talked through their issues and worries first before getting intimate. It felt really mature and made them seem emotionally intelligent. The forced proximity worked wonders in showcasing their chemistry and emotional connection. I enjoyed the Australian characters in a winter Christmas setting, as it contrasted so sharply to what they were used to, but also to what Aussie readers are used to. The spice was hot, and it felt like the right amount for this little short story. The tension was executed so well, and their love and care for one another just radiated off the pages. Overall, it was a really sweet, festive novella that warmed my heart this holiday season!

Final recc: Definitely reccomend for a quick, spicy and festive read!

If you want a spicy little Christmas novella please look no further that Georgia Moore's writer Checking You Twice. It’s the perfect blend of Australian and American festivities with second chances, forced proximity and all the Christmas magic one could need. If you want something to read tonight please pick this up, it’s also on KU! 🎄

“I thought we’d figured out tonight that we aren’t perfect,” he teases.”

She wants closure. He wants her back. And they are stuck under the same roof for Christmas. Nikki is painfully lonely. With her family overseas and the man she loved walking away, the thought of spending the holidays alone is too much. She flies to America to surprise her sister, only to discover Jill is away and her house sitter is the last person Nikki expected to see, the man who broke her heart.

Harrison left Australia for his dream job and failed. Ashamed and uncertain of his future, he ended things with Nikki so he could become someone worthy of her. When she turns up on the doorstep in Leavenworth, he realises too late that losing her was never part of the plan. This time, he is determined to fight for a second chance.

Nikki is not prepared for Harrison, or for his confession that he still wants her. With nowhere else to stay, forced proximity reignites old feelings and undeniable chemistry. As Christmas approaches, Nikki must decide whether reopening her heart is worth the risk of getting hurt again.💙

Checking You Twice by Georgia Moore
🌟 4 / 5 (I loved it!)
🌶️ 2 / 5 (1-2 open door scenes)

I loved Georgia’s first novel, Four Night Stand, so I was keen as curry to read this novella.

This spicy holiday-themed novella is the perfect way to get into the holiday spirit.

Nikki is missing her sister, Jill, who moved to the USA, and so she books a last minute ticket and flies to see Jill for Christmas.

Only her sister’s not home, and Nikki’s ex, Harrison, is housesitting for Jill. Emotional and jet lagged, Nikki agrees to stay at Jill’s home with Harrison.

This novella worked well because Nikki and Harrison were so clearly in love with each other from the start. Neither had really wanted to break up, so it was all about how they found their way back to each other.

This book is a dual POV between Nikki and Harrison, and is told in third person, present tense. I adore Georgia’s writing; her prose is engaging and easy to follow.

Tropes:
Second chance
Forced proximity
Holiday season

Content warning:
Sexual content
Miscarriage (mentioned a few times; FMC is not the one experiencing miscarriage)
Abandonment

Thank you to Georgia Moore for providing me an eARC copy of this book. I was not incentivised to read or review.

Checking You Twice marks my first holiday read of the season and it kicked things off with a bang, pun absolutely intended

Nikki flies to the US hoping for a Christmas with her sister, only to discover the house is being looked after by Harrison, the ex who broke her heart when he moved overseas. A snow dusted town, a tiny house, and unresolved feelings make it impossible to avoid each other. As old sparks flare fast, Nikki has to decide whether giving him another chance is worth the risk.

Nikki and Harrison's reunion had me hooked the moment she came face to face with the one man she was nowhere near prepared to see. Their chemistry is simmering from the start, and it only intensifies as they're pushed back into each other's orbit in this cosy little town full of twinkle lights, a Christmas tree farm, and features some dangerously cute holiday sweaters. And yes... Harry leaning in the doorway? Immediate book boyfriend behaviour.

It's tender yet sexy, festive, and wonderfully quick to read. A soft, heartfelt moment between Nikki and her sister Jill in the epilogue really grounded the story for me, wrapping everything up beautifully and leaving a lovely reminder that home isn't always a place. Sometimes it's a person. Or sometimes, it's a few of them.

Thank you Georgia Moore for the digital ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This is a sweet and spicy, fast-paced novella with cozy holiday vibes. The writing has a smooth, conversational flow, and the dual POV works beautifully with the second-chance and forced-proximity tropes.

The fun, flirty moments made me smile, and the slow reveal of why Harrison ended things kept me turning pages. My favorite part of the story was their big conversation about the breakup. It was raw, honest, and genuinely emotional. Both characters’ insecurities felt incredibly relatable and hit home for me.

Even though I usually avoid miscommunication in books, it actually worked here. Harrison and Nikki’s choices felt believable, especially since they had only been broken up for a few months and they clearly loved each other.

My only complaint is that I would have loved more time with these wonderful characters! Because the novella is so brief and offers only a small window into their time together, a few aspects naturally feel like they could have been explored just a bit more. All this really means is that I’ll be seeking out more of Georgia’s books.

I had the pleasure of reading Checking You Twice as an ARC, and I’m so grateful to the author for the opportunity! This novella was such a cozy, heart-warming holiday read. I absolutely loved the atmosphere, the winter setting, the festive vibes, and the feeling of being wrapped in that soft Christmas glow.

The chemistry between Nikki and Harrison was electric from the very beginning. Their connection felt real, emotional, and full of longing, and I adored every moment they shared. The forced proximity added just the right amount of tension, and their second-chance dynamic was both sweet and steamy.

If I’m honest, the only thing I wished for was a bit more length. Everything happened quite quickly, and I found myself wanting to stay with the characters longer and watch their relationship develop even more. They had so much potential, and I simply wasn’t ready to leave their story.

Overall, Checking You Twice is a charming, heartfelt holiday romance that mixes emotion, spice, and festive magic beautifully. Thank you again to the author for the ARC, it was a delight to read!

I love a Christmas novella and was so excited to get to read the ARC of Checking You Twice. I made a cup of tea, grabbed some cherries, and devoured it in one sitting.

Nikki has left Australia to visit her sister. She's lonely and broken-hearted after Harrison broke up with her. The people she loves keep leaving her behind. Harrison is aimless after making mistake after mistake. He's ended up alone on the other side of the world, missing his girl. A surprise Christmas visit throws these two back together, and Harrison knows it's now or never.

Georgia Moore has managed to pack a lot of story into her 182 pages. The characters felt real, and the story felt intimate. Christmas was a sweet backdrop for the narrative, but this story would have worked at any time of year. There is a lot of heart in this story. It made me want to listen to White Wine in the Sun!

You know you've enjoyed a novella when you feel like you could read a whole book about the characters. I would love to read more about these two and how they got to the point this story picks up from.

✨ Checking You Twice ✨

Thank you to Georgia for the opportunity to read Checking You Twice early. I had the pleasure of meeting Nikki and Harrison back when they were a shorter story in My True Love Gave to Me but I absolutely loved seeing their story expanded!

2025 Read: #133

What To Expect 🎄
✨ Christmas novella
✨ Second chance romance
✨ Forced proximity
✨ Dual POV

My Thoughts 💭
✨ I usually only read a few Christmas novellas each year but I'm so glad this was one of them!
✨ It's set in America but the characters are still Australian which I found really fun, it was a cute way to give them a white Christmas
✨ There was so many emotions, especially the messy kind and I loved watching Nikki and Harrison work through the issues they'd had in the past and find a way forward together
✨They really proved how no matter where you are, if you're with the person that is your home, that's all that matters
✨ I'd really recommend reading the bonus epilogue for a cute scene with Harrison's family
✨ Overall, a delightful Christmas read that I can't recommend enough!

There is just something about Christmas novellas I love. The short length with a fast paced story seems to be the perfect match for life at this time of year, and I never hesitate to reach for one.

Checking You Twice is like a bite sized Hallmark Christmas movie but bring the heat! It was cosy and heart felt and yearny 🤌 and still gave us the benefit of a full story arc but in a snappy little package takes no time at all to devour.

As always, Georgia’s writing and her characters felt thoughtful and intentional, making the emotions hit that bit harder. I immediately connected with Nikki and Harrison and the little flame of hope they harboured for each other.

If you’re looking a cosy (and sweaty 😏) second chance / forced proximity holiday read that you can easily fit into a busy schedule then this is not to be missed.

Biggest thank you to Georgia for the advanced copy. Checking You Twice is out today! Definitely one to add it to your Christmas TBR.

A huge thank you to Georgia Moore for the opportunity to read your gorgeous new novella ahead of its anticipated release tomorrow.

‘Checking You Twice’ is a short and sweet story about second chances, and the beauty in believing that what’s meant to be will always find its way back to you.

It follows Nikki, who’s travelled from Australia to America to surprise her sister for the holidays — only to discover, on arrival, that her sister has snuck off on a little trip of her own!

So not only is Nikki missing out on precious sister time, she’s also found herself in quite the conundrum: she now has to stay with the person looking after the house… which just so happens to be her ex-boyfriend, Harrison.

This is a really cute and cozy read - packed with the heart of a Hallmark movie and the heat of a spicy rom-com.

I liked the characters, I loved the setting, and I adored the vibe so much that it feels like the Christmas spark I was missing finally showed up!

If you’re in need of a little extra magic, make sure this one’s on your December TBR. It won’t disappoint!

This is my first read by Georgia Moore and I loved this sweet and spicy Christmas Romance!
When Nikki decides to fly to America to surprise her sister for Christmas, she’s the one left shocked to discover that not only is her sister away, but her ex-boyfriend Harrison is house-sitting for her sister and her partner. With nowhere else to go, Nikki suddenly finds herself sharing a house with the man who once broke her heart… and he seems determined that he doesn’t want to give up on what they had. Will they find a way to move past all that has happened?
As many of you will know by now, I am a massive Christmas fan and love getting into the festive reads and movies at this time of the year. Checking you Twice is such a cute read that I enjoyed so much! Nikki and Harrison have such a great chemistry and I really enjoyed their story.

I first met Nikki and Harrison last year when I read Georgia’s short story in ‘My True Love Gave to Me’ collection and it was so nice to be back with them, following their story again 💕

Checking You Twice has everything you’d want in a second-chance trope story, and it was so easy to read, that it took next to no time to finish this.

I felt like there could’ve been a little bit more cat and mouse - more chasing by Harrison, and Nikki holding her ground a bit more after he broke her heart - I loved that they came together after trying to do something nice for her sister.

This was such an easy Christmas read, and it just made me want to have a white Christmas so much more 🎄 Give me all the hot chocolates, Christmas tree farms and snow please ❄️

Thank you Georgia for sending me this ARC. This is out NOW!

Nikki, left alone for the holidays, decides to surprise her sister, Jill, in America for the holidays. But one thing Jill forgot to tell Nikki: She's actually not home for the holidays. And, Nikki's ex boyfriend is house sitting.

A perfectly steamy holiday novella, Georgia has perfectly combined the holiday season with a second-chance romance, and a dash of forced proximity! It's short, sweet and sappy, and I absolutely devoured it.

Even though it is a Christmassy novella, it didn't feel short. All of the characters feel flushed out and have a lot of heart. I cared a lot for these characters and adored reading about them!

Swoony and spicy, Checking You Twice is a fabulous Christmas novella! If you are looking for quick festive read you can devour in one sitting, then I definitely recommend it!

The second chance and forced proximity trope meant this novella hits the ground running. The chemistry and mutual pining between the MCs was so good, especially as the story is told from their dual points of view. I also enjoyed the white Christmas setting (there’s a Christmas tree farm 🌲) and the close relationship between Nikki and Jill.

Huge congrats to Georgia on such a fun and flirty Christmas read. I thoroughly enjoyed it!

When Nikki flies to the US to surprise her sister for Christmas, she definitely doesn’t expect to end up snowed in with Harrison… the man who broke her heart years ago. Cue forced-proximity, old wounds, sizzling chemistry, and a second chance neither of them saw coming.

It is a cosy, steamy, Christmassy novella perfect for anyone who loves banter, emotional tension, and holiday magic.

Trigger warning - mention of miscarriage (side character, not FMC)

Checking You Twice is so stinkin' cute! And I seriously wish Pining For You was my local Christmas village!

This cute, cosy novella was chock full of plot, angst and heart. I wish we had a book about Nikki and Harrison that gave us some more history and what led them to this part!

All in all, it was the perfect little Hallmark-after-dark novella to kick off my Christmas reading!
