Gerri strikes again when she convinces Dr. Tessa Monroe, PhD to take a job at an Arctic research center in a place that doesn't seem to exist on any map. Tired of the misogynistic 'old boys club' of academia, she jumps at the chance to be one of only two researchers at the facility. Finding out their 'boss' is a polar bear shifter is interesting, discovering he is a king is slightly unnerving, realizing he is very interested in her is completely bonkers. She had gotten use to the idea of being alone since the grandmother who raised her died, and she had never considered she'd have a shifter as a mate, much less a king. But all is not well in the kingdom as old grudges, intolerance of humans, and strange seismic readings paint a scary picture. Subtle sabotage turns into life-threatening attacks and Tessa worries King Kaidan Veyr will have to fight his own subjects in order to claim her.
