Strangers in the Fog: Atlantic Canadian Stories by Atlantic Canadian Authors

Rate this book
We are surrounded by strangers.
We pass on the sidewalk with a friendly nod. We chatter about the alarming price of strawberries at the check-out. Emboldened by the anonymity of cars, we curse and slam on our horns at people we don’t know.
And then we quickly forget.
But every stranger has a story to tell. What trauma left such a remarkable scar on the middle-aged man with the handsome side profile? What does the white-haired woman in the purple earrings, taking such careful steps with her walker, try so hard to forget?
The stories inside this book are a reminder that every stranger has their tale to tell. The person you next glance at might be the love of your life, the savior you didn’t know you needed, or maybe even the predator quietly watching you, planning terrible things...
In this anthology of short stories and poetry, East Coast strangers are waiting to become a little more familiar.

Various is the correct author for any book with multiple unknown authors, and is acceptable for books with multiple known authors, especially if not all are known or the list is very long (over 50).

If an editor is known, however, Various is not necessary. List the name of the editor as the primary author (with role "editor"). Contributing authors' names follow it.

There were a lot of stories in here, so it was a really good bang for it's buck.

I liked the stories, some more than others, but that's what happens in a collection, I prefer speculative fiction so I'll lean more into those ones.

I really liked How (Not) to Summon a Hell Hound, it reads like the start of a novel and Black Rocks was really good. I didn't think I would like Moist, but like mold it grew on me.

Good collection overall.

I love anthologies and short stories and Strangers In the Fog did not disappoint. I really enjoyed most of the stories and I finished this book quickly in one sitting. I highly recommend this book to other readers that like anthologies. I love that it's a local book that offers many stories from many of my friends; as well as my first ever published story from yours truly.
