Mutual Obsession II

Rate this book
It's five years later. Gray and Rain have moved on with their lives, enjoying their peace, or so they thought. Rain starts to receive unwanted "gifts", which causes her to become secretive and fearful. The situation starts to emotionally affect Rain, causing her alter, Storm, to resurface. What happens on Halloween sends Rain into a complete spiral. From that point on, this novella takes you on a suspenseful ride of craziness.

This is part two. Make sure you read part one. This novella is a fast paced, short read that packs a punch. Enjoy!

I enjoyed both of these books so much I read them back to back. This was a novella but had plot twist after plot twist. I was literally either on the edge of my seat, in shock or crying laughing. The storyline was sooooo good. So much was packed into this two part novella series and I loved it from the first page to the last. Mess, drama, stalking, fake deaths, lies, crime, spice, and a friends to lovers romance. Mental health was touched on in this book in the most entertaining way possible. If you decide to read this just watch for the STORM!!! This series was a GOOD time and I would absolutely recommend it.
I gave this book a 4/5 ⭐️

📌Would I recommend this book? Well DUH

❤️❤️❤️

Let’s start with the dedication to her father. I was beautiful and yes support is always needed. Being a caregiver can be draining also so please make sure you have a great self-care routine. As a mental health counselor, I have worked with clients and families that suffered from DID. It’s not easy. So prayers to the author and her family ❤️❤️🙏🏾🙏🏾

Now the book….

Rain/Storm was a great way to see how DID work. Storm will forever be Rain’s protector. I’m glad to hear to the news about Bear but was upset of his actions. Harmony has serious and was very manipulative. She got just what she deserved. I’m thinking it sounds like a part 3 but where would we go from here. I loved the ending.

Really?? REALLY?! After all these years, this villain really sat back and waited patiently for the perfect moment to get revenge. Gray should’ve handled business a long time ago and saved us from this mess, because why are we here right now?! 😭

But listen… not Storm popping up and taking over the entire situation. My girl said, “Who messing with Rain?” and immediately chose violence. Who wanna rumble with the bee?! 😂 (Yeah, I definitely showed my age right there.)

This one had me holding my breath for a minute because I genuinely didn’t know how things were gonna shake out. We already know Gray stays ten toes down behind his woman, but once his kids got involved? Oh yeah that man might go full nuclear. No hesitation.

I’m not gonna keep rambling because this one isn’t long, and you really need to experience it for yourself to feel what I’m talking about. If you read Book 1, don’t stop now go ahead and finish the story.

Trust me, you’re gonna want to. 📚🔥

It was nice to catch back up with the crew

I didn’t expect a part 2, but enjoyed it. It was good seeing that Gray’s mom got cleaned. Bear is alive. Harmony was finally handled and Storm is dormant. She came through when she needed. I love how nobody looked at Rain differently when they found out about Storm. Ant is a trip lol. I love him. Great read!

When I saw there was a follow up to book one I was excited because I really enjoyed it but this one didn't hit the way the first one did for me. It was nice seeing how Grayson and Rain were living now with the family but once the situation with Harmony occurred and Storm appeared it didn't have the same effect. Everything was just happening fast after that and then once the everything was resolved there was a time jump and it is like oh we're back to normal now. i was happy to see an update on a character from the previous book but besides that this was just okay for me and it felt like something was missing.

A friend-enemies best revenge

The dynamics between Storm and Rain, gives this story the twist and turns I enjoy in a good book. The plot twist presented took me for a loop, keeping me guessing. This was a good ready.

Now THIS is where things really start to unfold. Mutual Obsession 2 takes everything introduced in book one and pushes it further...emotionally, mentally, and definitely psychologically. We jump five years ahead, and what’s supposed to be peace quickly turns into tension. Rain begins receiving mysterious “gifts,” and the uneasiness builds in a way that feels more suspenseful this time around. There’s a constant sense that something isn’t right, and that tension carries throughout the story.

But let’s talk about the real standout: Storm. In book one, Storm was more of a mention, a concept.
In book two? She is very much present. And when I say Rain and Storm are complete opposites… I mean that. Storm brings a different energy entirely...bold, unpredictable, and not someone you want to play with. She adds a layer to the story that makes everything feel more intense and, honestly, more entertaining.

The emotional spiral Rain goes through also adds depth. You can see how everything begins to weigh on her, and it makes the story feel more layered than just surface-level drama. And that Halloween moment? Yeah… that’s when things really take a turn. Overall, this sequel delivers more suspense, more intensity, and more chaos in the best way. It builds on the foundation of book one and gives you something a little darker and more unhinged. If you enjoyed the first book, this one is definitely worth the read.

Five years later and the past still refuses to stay buried. This sequel wastes zero time reminding you that peace is fragile, especially when trauma never really clocks out. What starts as uneasy tension quickly spirals into full blown chaos and the ride is wild from start to finish.

Rain’s unraveling feels real and unsettling. What they say 👀 The calm before the Storm 👀. The unwanted “gifts,” the secrecy, the fear creeping back in, all of it makes Storm’s return feel inevitable. When Halloween hits the story shifts gears completely and doesn’t let up. It’s suspenseful and deliberately unhinged.

WhiteDaddy6969 the absolute audacity of thinking you could play sugga daddy and predator. Yeah my boi you ended up snatching the wrong people’s kids! Harmony really played in your face surprise you dead. Bear.. alive isolated, yes, but alive 🫶🏾 that update mattered more than I expected. That twist alone had me clutching my chest.

Storm though Storm is HER. Period. She’s the embodiment of survival, rage and protection all rolled into one and every time she surfaced, the energy shifted. You don’t root against her. You brace for impact. I know I know this wasn't meant to be funny but I was in tears. The bad breath commentary was taking me out. Lawd when Storm cut her hair Gramps puhlease!!!

I loved this follow-up on this couple. I was absolutely in love with Rain and Grey's family. Ant and Kira were still crazy and I was here for their foolishness. The care the author took with dealing with Rain's mental disorder and introducing Storm was chefs kiss. Storm was a baddie and didn't mind laying hands and feet on those who harmed Rain. The plot twists that were in this book and me shocked, but one in particular, I absolutely love it. This brings the drama, the love, and the laughs.

Great Follow up that ended too soon

Love reading a new story about Gray and Rain…even Storm. Ain’t nothing harmonious about Harmony, girl,is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs. Harmony and her WhiteDaddy6969 got what they deserve. Had soon surprises like Ant still with his baby mama and they got more kids. Why could Ant be Toto for Halloween. I also got happy reading ultimate surprise but I will let you guys find that out.

Gray & Rain/Storm.
KINDLE.

This was a good conclusion to this series.
Harmony needed to go from day one but 🤷‍♀️ suspense I guess.

I’m not sure if I understand Storm as much but I appreciated the attention given to her.. the ego switch and how she came and didn’t leave so fast like a ghost. I guess that happens for people for real.

Overall, good read. Funny too!

Some people just don't learn

And the mess continues. How is one person so jealous and obsessed that even after they were caught and punished they still ain't learn their lesson? It's been years since Harmony tried to ruin Rain's relationship with Gray and she still can’t get over that he don't want her. This story shows what happens when you push a family to the edge.

Book II

I enjoyed like the first book. I didn’t see the need for this to be a book 2 with a little over 100 pages. This would have provided readers an extension to the story of book 1, which was that long. All and all, this was as humorous and entertaining as the first book. It kept me intrigued as a reader.

Book 1 was good but book 2 I just couldn’t get into. Made it about 40% then started perusing through about 58% at Halloween night. I don’t want to rate it bc it could just be I’m in the mood to read something different 🤷🏽‍♀️ this one just don’t hit like the first one.

Wild ride

This one was different. I loved the fact that Grey did what he needed to do in order to protect his family. A lot of secrets were revealed however the best of all was knowing Bear was still around. Overall I enjoyed this book!

This was a good follow-up! That storm is too much. I wish Bear could come out of hiding, that was the saddest part. With friends like Harmony who needs enemies, and Jamal played on her top for years, she ended up with the right man.
