Lucy Archibald is in her final semester at Eden Falls University, balancing the pressure of being a D1 gymnast with the even heavier weight of her high-society familyโs expectations. Sheโs the good girl. The polished one. The girl who never breaks the rules.
Until one snowy night at a party in the Hamptonsโฆ when she kisses a gorgeous stranger in a hot tub.
She figured it would be a one-time thing. Just fun. No consequences.
Then she walks into her chemistry class the next week and sees him standing at the front of the room.
Professor Owen Park knows better than to get involved with a student. Heโs a first-year professor, currently applying for research grants with hopes of landing a promotion. The last thing he needs is a scandal. But Lucy, with her sharp mind, easy smile, and way-too-flirty glances from the back row, is making it nearly impossible to forget the forbidden kiss they shared.
Theyโre both trying to play it cool. But when a new threat pulls them closer, the tension between them heats up fast, and staying away starts to feel less like the smart choice and more like the one thing they canโt do.

Whew talk about forbidden romance! age gap and college professor ๐ญ This book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time every kiss every moment together I wondered when they would get caught. This was very well done I loved the relationship dynamic between the two characters. The FMC struggling with previous domestic violence and a volatile relationship with her ex finally being loved the way she deserves. The FMC finally finding someone who can be his family after losing his own family members in a terrible accident. The MMC is a Chemistry professor and there was definitely chemistry through the entire story! The FMC is a student at the university and the daughter of the University president talk about conflict of interest ๐ฎ The romance was sooooo good the banter was super cute I loved everything!
Thank you Judy Corry for this ARC looking forward to Theo's love story next!! I love a good age gap romance ๐ค
When Lucy Archibald kisses a handsome stranger on New Years Eve she thinks of it as a one-time thing. But when she enters the classroom to start her final semester at college she is horrified to notice that her chemistry professor is the guy she kissed!
Professor Owen Parks has not been able to forget the kiss he shared with Lucy, but when he realises that she's one of his students he needs to get her out of his head. Which is easier said than done...
The student/professor trope means both forbidden love and age gap. The later isn't my favorite, but here she's 21 and he's 28, so it felt okay in my book. Also, I really love Lucy and Owen as characters and their chemistry(!) is palpable. And the yearning...!
Lucy is also a great gymnast and it's the first time I've read a sports romance with that content. Even though I don't really follow gymnastics I had no trouble understanding and following those scenes.
Both Lucy and Owen carry some bagage that affects them and I think the author handles it well. They encounter quite a few obstacles on their way and sometimes I believe it gets a bit drawn out, with some unnecessary drama. Lucy also tends to overthink, which could be related to her age, but considering how obvious it is what Owen feels it gets somewhat disturbing. Overall though, I've been enjoying my time with Owen and Lucy!
* I received an ARC from the author and I'm giving my honest review. *
Plot- I liked this forbidden professor/student and age gap (7 yrs) romance. Everything was ethical but there was still good tension. I liked that it featured characters in their 20s.
Characters- I liked both the FMC and the MMC. They were both really mature and matched their ages well. The MMC started out extra cool, but for me, he lost some (but not all) of his cool factor as the story progressed. Thatโs why I sometimes donโt like dual perspective. It can take away from the MMCโs mystery and allure to know every single insecurity and worry he has. Or maybe I just needed to be reminded of how he was perceived attractive/desirable by other people to rekindle those feelings. Idk. Still, I liked them both a lot.
Romance- Good chemistry!
Writing - Good.
Content-
Language- no swearing Spice- some making out lying down/ in laps, no wandering hands. Violence- the FMCโs ex-boyfriend hurt her when he was drunk. This is in her past, not on page. Substance abuse- they meet in a bar but neither MC is a drinker. Cover- cute POV- dual POV, first person Cliffhanger- no. Format- KU
This book seriously broke me. Their love was just so pure. I have a love/hate relationship with this trope. But Judy wrote it perfectly. The family elements and finding a balance. The pace gave enough time for the story to play out and not too much information. You have Owen, chemistry professor, and Lucy, a gymnastics student. I love the way they met. I was very impatient for when the truth was revealed. The plot may be triggering for some people but definitely important for the plot
At this point, I am fully convinced that Judy Corry could write absolutely anything and make me fall in love with it. Because honestly? While I'm always up for giving any trope a chance, there are a few I'm a little more wary of... and professor/student? Yeah, that's pretty high up on that list. And yet, once again, Judy has taken a least favorite trope... and made it a new favorite read. Of the moment. Of the year. Of Judy's (surpassing Say You Remember Me, which I honestly wasn't even sure was possible). Simply put, I'm completely obsessed. This one kept me up all night, wanting to see how it was all going to play out... and I have absolutely zero regrets over the sleep lost. Right from their very first interactions-before they knew he was her chemistry professor, the chemistry between these two was flying off the pages... but that emotional connection when they opened up and were vulnerable with each other? Oh my goodness. It was such a beautifully tender connection, and I absolutely loved everything about it. I couldn't get enough of these two. I simultaneously couldn't wait to get to the end to see how everything was going to work out... and never wanted it to end. If you love forbidden romance with all the emotional depth, this is one not to be missed. (And even if you don't, this one might just change your mind!)
Wish You Were Mine is a closed-door romance with fade to black. It does have a steamier buildup (descriptive make outs, wandering hands, his shirt coming off, etc.) but it does fade to black before anything beyond kisses happens on page. (The fade to black is within a marriage.) Still, this one is definitely more PG-13 than some closed-door readers might prefer though. It does also have minimal minor language. Please note, this story does have mentions of some difficult topics that could be triggering for some readers, to include . This is the third book in Kings of Eden Falls series, and while previous characters do make appearances (from this and Judy's other series), it could absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone as well. That said, the series is great, and I'd highly recommend them all.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
I couldnโt help but adore this story. Lucy is a university marketing student that loves gymnastics. She works hard at everything she does and cares deeply. Her ex-boyfriend, Josh, asks her to be the designated driver when they go to a bar, The Garden. The bartender, Owen, is absolutely dreamy, flirty, and wickedly smart.
When Lucy and Owen meet again, they find their attraction is off the charts, to the point that when midnight rolls around, they make out. Finding out that Owen is Lucyโs professor came as a jaw-dropping shock, but it gets even worse. Lucy is the daughter of the president of the university. Dating between a student and professor is frowned upon, along with the fact they have an age gap of seven years.
Forbidden romance tropes might be my new favorite thing. I didnโt know it till I read this story and absolutely binged it as much as I could. I can absolutely relate with Lucy, taking chemistry on her senior year to procrastinate it to the end. Itโs a difficult subject, I struggled in college with my chemistry class. I wish he was my professor, it sounded like he actually tried to make an effort to make students understand the subject.
lucy a young gymanast at the end of her college career, owen is a chemistry professor. Even though there is a lot of stigma around this trope, judy managed to keep it clean. They fell for each other, not in lust but in heart, and that truly made you route for them. it wasn't necessarily that they were sneaking around in this forbidden romance, but they were just trying to live in and build trust in their new relationship with the hiding less conspicuous.
i love how all the books interconnect into the same world and theirs little bits that bring this world together, but you can read it as a standalone or beginner to judy all the same, its nice to have the history of the fellow books but its not needed to enjoy reading this one.
very little spice (just hot kissing and straying hands), so very moderate in that sense and perfect for those who are uncomfortable or just starting out reading spice and romance.
I had the amazing opporutnity to be an ARC reader for Judy Corry again. This book was so much fun to read and had me hooked the whole time! I am so thankful that I got this opportunity again, and I highly recommend this book, along with all of her books! If you love forbidden romance, sports romance, brothers best friend, age gap, off-limits chemistry, forced proximity, emotional healing, and mistaken identity, then this book is perfect. It's plot twisting, and page turning, and most importantly, well written and follows an amazing storyline. If you've read some of Judy Corry's other books, then you'll be happy to know that some characters come up in the story just like in 'Say You Remember Me' and 'Hide Away With You'! Again, I am so grateful that I got this opportunity to ARC read again and I recommend you checkout this book when it comes out on September 5th!
This book challenged me with different tropes than I'm used to, forbidden romance, professor /student, age Gap. I had to put it down for breathers ๐. Some of the most intense kisses for a closed door romance I may have even stopped to check if the author had changed it up to a more open door (they didnt, phew) whenever I did put it down my mind just wanted to keep reading the story. You know when you hold your breath for the whole 2/3rds of a book knowing the implosion is going to happen but knowing it needs to happen so they can get even better, that's this book! Excellent ending, love the final chapter being Theo's start (can't wait) and the epilogue was a nice closure.
it's been a while since I first met Owen in the Eden Falls Academy series. I'd liked him a lot back then, with his steadiness and, well, depressing back story. ๐ Just the mix I love in a male character.
Now, years later, he's even better than I imagined! Loved Owen's flirty side (tempered with maturity, of course) and how far he'd gone in his career. I almost felt like a proud auntie.
Then there's Lucy. Sweet with an amazing work ethic. Their meet cute was wonderful and completely changed the whole professor/student vibe of the story because in her mind he was a hot bartender and she was a sweet, if not slightly younger than his usual type, gorgeous woman.
I really enjoyed this romance, with its closed-door scorching heat. ๐ฅ๐ฅ Wowzers. The chemistry between them was off the charts yet really... well, sweet. Not an ounce of "ick" in this story.
Speaking of "ick", it's amazing how a character can make you feel validated as a reader... and also terrible. My husband is 7.5 years older than me (slightly bigger age gap than Owen and Lucy), so I read this story very differently to the average reader... and I was almost offended by Lucy's family at one point. ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ๏ฟฝ I was 21 when I married my husband... and these people had an issue with that she gap? You can guess how I might've felt, ha ha ha!
I had the absolute privilege of reading an ARC of Wish You Were Mine.
This book gave me everything I wanted in a forbidden romance. Weโve got a student athlete x professor, the university presidentโs daughter, the friendโs sister, and a seven-year age gap all rolled into one. The chemistry (pun absolutely intended) was so good, and I loved how the balance of gymnastics and romance kept the story moving without feeling too overloaded.
Judy always nails the intimate moments, making them feel swoony and tasteful at the same time. I also adored the thoughtful little moments, like the plush cow and note.
Absolutely adored it. the way Owen and Lucy's relationship developed from their first meeting at the bar to...everything else, was so beautifully done. The way they tried to keep things cool but just couldn't stay away from each other. Their feelings for each other were just so genuine that you couldn't help but root for them. The stakes were high, the tension was thick and I loved every second of it. My favourite in the series so far. Looking forward to the next book.
First of all, Iโd like to thank the author and her team for the free e-ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book was such a fun summer read, light, cute, but also deep. I loved the love that was displayed here, it seamed honest and true. The relationship was so well-written, the characters were so lovable and again made me fall in love with Judy Corryโs settings. Even though I feared the trope would be awkward or uncomfortable for me due to the fact that he is older and her professor, this book was written in a way, where you could relate to the characters so much and just instantly fell in love with them. It did not slightly touch this uncomfortable vibe I feared, it was sooooo much better and easy to get into. I loved Lucy and Owen and would recommend their story with all my heart!
This was pretty cute. I typically hate books when the main characters have an uneven power dynamic so I was taking a chance reading a professor/student romance. However, I trust a few reviewers who read it and liked it so I gave it a shot.
This didnโt feel creepy at all! I really liked both characters (who were both adults, although there was an age gap) and their relationship didnโt start when they were professor/student so it didnโt bother me as much. Would I have liked there to have been no overlap while he was her professor, yeah, but it didnโt give me the โickโ either. Owen being Lucyโs brotherโs friend also helped.
I thought Owen was incredibly sweet and I liked that Lucy was smart and driven and talented. It felt like they actually respected each other and liked each other for more than physical reasons.
My favorite parts were anytime Owen was bartending, anytime Lucy was doing gymnastics, foot rubs, comforting hugs, the pantry, and all the moments where a Owen cared for Lucy emotionally.
I do wish there was a bit more forward plot movement. Some parts were a bit slow and honestly Iโm not sure it made enough of an impression on me to remember it a month from now, but I did enjoy it!
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
โ this is part of a series, but can be read as a stand-alone
โ this is told from Lucy & Owenโs points of view
*Owen is Asherโs (from The Ruse) older brother
-there is an age gap of about 7 years between them
-it is mentioned that a character left an abusive relationship
-it is mentioned that characterโs lost loved ones in car accidents (a year or more prior to the events in this story)
-it is mentioned that a family member dealt with addictions (past events)
-tongue is briefly mentioned in multiple kisses/make outs
-it is mentioned that both characters put their hands under the otherโs shirt during some make outs; in one make out, Lucy removes Owenโs shirt
-there is a very brief assault attempt made on a character (they are saved by others)
Review:
I read this in one day it was so good! I loved getting to find out more about Owen after seeing/hearing about him in previous books in this series and in his brother Asherโs book (The Ruse). I also loved getting to know Lucy and her family. Iโm not sure if Lucy was mentioned in previous books or not (since her brother is in the same friend group as Owen), but since I didnโt personally remember her she was someone completely new to me! I loved that a lot of the book centered around her gymnastics competitions and his class giving tons of on page time of them together but not at the same time. Their yearning for each other but fighting those feelings for the sake of others/Owenโs job was phenomenal! I loved the moments when they gave in to their feelings too and I liked that there was communication between them, especially in the โare we still fighting our feelingsโ stage. Sometimes it did take them a couple of pages before they communicated, but it made sense with their schedules/situations.
I am very excited to read Theoโs (Lucyโs brother) story next with the nod given to who heโll end up with! And I think I picked up another upcoming relationship to be written and Iโm excited to find out if Iโm correct!
Summary:
Lucy is a straight-laced girl with the weight of her familyโs expectations on her shoulders. But when given the opportunity to kiss a handsome stranger at a party, Lucy is willing to let herself be a little reckless for once. If only her one time letting loose didnโt set her up for heartbreakโฆ
Owen has been having trouble finding love with the various dating apps heโs tried and finding someone in person hasnโt gone well either. Until one night changes everything. Wish You Were Mineis the newest release fromKing of Eden Fallsseries by author Judy Corry. This particular story is a Student/Professor, Age-Gap, Forbidden Romance that follows Lucy Archibald and Owen Park, older brother of Asher Park fromThe RuseinEden Falls Academyseries through their dual POVs.
The story to me started off quite strong in capturing my attention. I was not only curious, as well as intrigued to see how it would play on when it came to seeing Lucy and Owen meet and how it would continue on for them. More so due to not much was known or divulged about them in the beginning, though for Owen it remained more of an enigma than Lucy.
Lucy and Owen's budding relationship kept me further intrigued, particularly in seeing how they handled it and themselves around one another, due to the forbidden aspect of it. Author Judy did a good job in showcasing this from their perspective chapters allowing us to hear it all. The inner monologue of both Lucy and Owen voicing as so in detail.
While I will admit there were times later on where the narrative became a little flat for my liking. Just moving along with no bumps to rock the boat. However it wasnโt until closer towards the end where it all picked back up for me. The drama reeled me back in even more than the beginning, having been gripped tighter than ever before. Seeing the way it unravelled and ultimately played out for Lucy and Owen.
My main critique would be the story didnโt have to be as long as it was, at least in my opinion. The length of the book is what made the story take a little too long for my liking to pick up. I feel like some of it couldโve been cut out, while still reading the same. Mainly since it took the last 15% for the story to truly pick up, given the drama that occurred then.
I also must say I did feel like there were some loose ends left in regards to particular secondary characters. When it came to not knowing their fate as clearly. At least to me it did. It had me wishing it had been completely wrapped in giving the answers I still didnโt fully have in the end.
All in all,Wish You Were Minestill made for a good read. And even despite my issues, there were good moments to enjoy when it came to following the journey of Lucy and Owen in their Forbidden Romance.
*I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Wish You Were Mine is the third book in the Kings of Eden Falls series by Judy Corry. Lucy Archibald is in her final semester at Eden Falls University. While balancing the pressure of being a Division 1 gymnast along with the heavier weight of her high-society familyโs expectations. She is the good girl who never breaks the rules. However, during a snowy New Yearโs Eve party in the Hamptons, Lucy is ready to lose a bit of that polish. She ends up kissing a handsome stranger in a hot tub. Feeling bold, she is ready to tackle her last semester. Until she walks into her chemistry class the following week and sees the handsome stranger standing at the front of the classroom. Professor Owen Park knows better than to get involved with a student. As a first year professor, he is currently applying for research grants with hopes of a promotion. However, he finds himself drawn to Lucyโs sharp wit and easy smile. They are determined to keep their relationship as professor-student; however, staying away from each other is something they cannot do. I love Judy Corry romances and I couldnโt wait for the newest addition to the series. However, when I heard that it was a professor-student forbidden romance, I was weary. Since I love Judy Corryโs stories and characters, I was willing to give it a chance. I am happy I did. It was a great slow burn romance with great stolen glances and secret touches. The banter was flirty and swoon worthy. Both Owen and Lucy are great characters who understand there is more at stake than their mutual attraction. The one aspect of the story I didnโt understand was the constant worry about their age gap which is about seven years. To me, a seven year age gap isnโt as concerning as some age gaps in other romances. However, Ms. Corry handled it wonderfully and Owen and Lucy were characters that I rooted for until the end when I cheered. Overall, I loved this story. There are no steamy scenes, just great romantic moments. I am looking forward to more stories in this series. I highly, highly recommend Wish You Were Mine.
Wish You Were Mine is available in paperback and eBook
๐ โHe wasnโt just hot and grounded, he was also responsible. The dangerous trifecta.๐
Ever since Judy Corry announced the tropes for this book, I couldnโt wait. This one is very gymnastic heavy so if you like that youโll love this! Lucy meets Owen when heโs bartending and they may or may not have shared a few steamy kisses. Little does Lucy know that Owen is one of her professors. The tension started out so good but fizzled out a little too early for my liking. Judy Corry did a fantastic job with taking a forbidden topic and still keeping it PG-13. I do wish I had felt more romantic chemistry between Owen and Lucy. I wanted more angst and more heartstrings being pulled and I just didnโt feel that. Their more intimate moments together were ๐ฅ and at those points I felt more chemistry than any other time. I guess you could say their โsexual chemistryโ was a 10/10!!! I found Owenโs background to be very sad and I just wanted to reach through my kindle and hug him. Both characters are super sweet and definitely come off more as best friends than anything else. Judy Corry just has a way of sucking you into the story and making you feel like you know the main characters and even the side characters. Even though I didnโt feel their romantic chemistry I still very much enjoyed the story and of course the setting. The next book is another one of my favorite tropes so Iโm super excited for that one.
Tropes: ๐ College Gymnast/Chemistry Professor ๐ 7 year age gap ๐ Slow Burn ๐ Protective MMC ๐ PG-13 (Steamy Kisses)
๐คญ โIโm definitely in the mood for something Italian tonight,โ I said, tapping that section of the digital menu. Though, if I was being honest, part of me was tempted by something with a little more Korean flairโhim, specifically.๐คญ
โThere would be no surviving this semester. Because Iโd kissed my chemistry professor. Twice. And then completely burned all the bridges the next day.โ
Although this book is Book 3 in the Kings of Eden Falls series, it can definitely stand alone. I was curious and mesmerized by the alternate points of view and their connection from the very first hello to the very last page, and I couldnโt look away, even though doom and disaster was written all over this forbidden college relationship.
Lucy is the sweetest, toughest, most likable character and I really, really wanted her to find her true love and happiness, especially as she is about to end her college gymnastics career and education. It takes real discipline and commitment to go as far in the sport as she did, and that carries over into all she does. Her friendship with Nora is lasting and reminded me of strong friendships I have. Owen is simply a dream. Overcoming massive obstacles, mostly out of his control, heโs solid, dependable, honorable, and oh, SOOO dreamy. Now her college chemistry professor, heโs torn.
I couldnโt get enough of the way these two interacted and the way he obviously worshipped her and truly saw her for who she is. Even though there is an age gap and a professor/student relationship, it was very well done. The chemistry (no pun intended) is off the charts. Every page is filled with longing, swooning, desperate interactions, and writing that spoke to my soul. The teaser for the next book has me anxiously anticipating more from this series.
3.5 stars from me on this one. Reading the story of Lucy and Owen stressed the heck out of me! It all could have been avoided if they would have calmed their hormones down and just talked to Lucy's dad and the Dean before they decided to sneak around. I honestly was kinda rooting for Lucy & Brody to be a thing for most of the book.
I also think there was so much more intimacy in this book than Judy Corry's previous books. The make out scenes & fantasies were more frequent and passionate/detailed. I wouldn't want a teenager reading this book, even though everything technically stayed pg-13.
While I have loved 98% of Judy Corry's books, the fact that there were 2 forbidden romances back-to-back, where they met at the same bar and didn't know who they kissed until Monday morning when they saw each other in a normal setting...it just felt too similar. This fact was briefly called out during the story in a tactful meta-irony, but I still felt the same trope back-to-back in the series was a bit much.
I'm super excited for Nora and Theo's story! I hope that Charlotte isn't a huge part of the story so we can just focus on the couple, and I hope that the age gap doesn't consume a large plot of the book as it did in this story.
one last plea to the author: can we tone down the use of the word "anchor"? Every make out session seems to require someone anchoring the other person. it's a bit much ๐ซ
This story follows Lucy and Owen. The first time they met, their chemistry was palpable. Then they have some make out time. But the real bummer is for them to find out that he is a professor at the college she attends. And to make everything even worse, her father is the universityโs president. As always we have a clean romance, but this story doesnโt need spice to have emotions and tension running high. Lucy and Owen connect in an emotional way and can be vulnerable with each other. Despite their age gap it felt that they were very right for each other. A girl who deserved to be loved the right way and a guy who deserves to have a family who cares for him. Their journey was awesome to read and being part of it put on through everything they felt too. This forbidden romance is everything worth reading till their happy end. We have mentioned some heavier tropes which concern side characters.
Kissing a handsome stranger in a hot tub? Bold. Finding out that stranger is your professor? Mortifying. And your dadโs the university president? Just perfect.
Judy Cory has done it again! This book to be released on September 3rd is a MUST add to your TBR!
Lucy and Owen share one *amazing* night together. Sparks fly, chemistry is off the charts, and there are hopes to see each other again. Little did they know they'd be seeing each other again very soon, but not in a way that was expected. Enter-- student x professor trope! Forbidden love, secret dating, age gap, and romantic tension galore. If you love a good cinnamon roll, nerdy professor MMC and a determined yet little bit naive FMC, this book is for you!
WISH YOU WERE MINE is perfect for fans of flirty banter, forbidden slow burns, and dangerously hot chemistry. This swoony college romance will keep you hooked with every stolen glance, secret touch, and the one question that could change everything: is love worth the fallout?
I could barely put this book downโit was exactly what I needed to break out of my reading slump. Wish You Were Mine is such a cute, well-written romance that left me grinning and wanting more.
The story follows Lucy Archibald, a D1 gymnast trying to live up to her high-society familyโs expectations, and Owen Park, a first-year chemistry professor with a lot riding on his career. They meet over winter break at a party in the Hamptons, sharing one incredible hot tub kissโeasily one of the best-written scenes Iโve read in a while. Neither of them knows who the other really isโฆ until Lucy walks into class and sees him standing at the front of the room.
Itโs a PG-13 romance, with nothing beyond some truly swoony kisses, but the chemistry between Lucy and Owen leaps off the page. You feel for both of them as you learn what theyโve been through, and watching them make each other better people is so satisfying.
If you love flirty banter, forbidden slow burns, and romance that makes you fall for both characters, I canโt recommend this enough.
Another fabulous book from author Judy Corry! "Wish You Were Mine" is beautifully-written. This author has a wonderful gift of crafting original characters that always feel three-dimensional and like real people. Her characters are always so lovable and as I am reading the characters and their families always feel like close friends I've known for a long time. It is always such a joy to read a Judy Corry book! The writing style is smooth and sparkling with beauty, humor, and wit, the characters are amazing and feel like real people along with personalities, thoughts, and emotions of their own, the romance is always sweet, swoony, and emotionally deep, and the stories always feel original, dazzling, and new. I've had such a wonderful time reading Lucy and Owen's story! This book is well-written, sweet, and so much fun! In case you can't already tell... I am still smiling as I am writing this review.
Thank you very much to author Judy Corry for the wonderful opportunity of being a part of her ARC Team again and for providing me with a digital copy to read and review honestly.
Review: I loved this book! This is book 3 in the Kings of Eden Falls. This book follows Owen and Lucy. Owen and Lucy meet at a friends New Years Eve party and share a kiss in the hot tub. When she walks into her chemistry class her professor is Owen Parks, the man she shared a kiss with. Owen knows better than to get involved with a student. They try to stay away from each other but their chemistry is off the charts. How long can they keep this secret and what will it cost. I loved Owenโs friendship with Theo, who happens to be Lucyโs brother. Lucy is also the daughter of the University president. I canโt wait to read the next book in the series. I really enjoyed Lucy and Noraโs friendship. There is only kissing on page. I really enjoyed the storyline.
Favorite Quote: โHe wasnโt just hot and grounded, he was also responsible. The dangerous trifecta.โ
โญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธโญ๏ธ โ Sweet, swoony, and very Judy Corry
I really enjoyed Wish You Were Mine. The premise hooked me right away, and I loved how The Garden and some familiar characters made little appearances. Judy Corry has such a fun way of tying her stories together, and Iโm already excited about the hints for the next book with Nora and Theo.
Lucy and Owenโs chemistry kept me turning pages, and even though the PG language sometimes felt a little juvenile for the intensity of the story, the romance itself was sweet, swoony, and full of those slow-burn moments I love.
If I had one tiny critique, itโs just a few repetitive words that pulled me out now and then. But, overall, this was a heartfelt and romantic read that gave me exactly what I wanted from a Judy Corry book.
So when I first read it I rated it 4 stars but Iโm still thinking about this book 3 days later (even after starting 2 other books) so Iโve bumped it up to 5 stars! This story is so beautiful! College professor and college athlete. A story that should be taboo is actually so heartwarming to see. The MMC, Owen, is such a gentle and patient soul. Heโs beautiful inside and out and truly cares for Lucy. The FMC, Lucy, is strong and so mature for her age! Sheโs been through way more than any 21 year old should have been through but she never let it harden her heart. She fearless and caring and loves so fiercely. Loved this story so much!! Judy really knows how to write closed door, taboo-ish, stories that just draw you in!
Oh wowโI normally donโt go for professor/student romances at all, but this book is just so well done. Judy Corry handles the trope perfectly. The chemistry between Lucy and Owen is electric, the slow burn is chefโs kiss, and the tension builds so naturally.
The dynamic between them is handled so wellโtheir different stages in life make the connection feel real and layered, not just a typical trope. Lucyโs balancing her D1 gymnastics life and high-society expectations, while Owen is juggling the pressures of a first-year professorโso every stolen glance and secret touch feels so intense.
Honestly, itโs so well doneโI devoured it. The writing, the pacing, the forbidden tensionโit all just clicks. Definitely a swoony, addictive read that sticks with you long after you close the Kindle.
I've had a blast hanging out with Owen and Lucy these past several months. Iโve always wanted to write a student/professor romance (since forbidden romance will forever be my weakness), and layering in the world of college gymnastics was so fun.
If you love:
Slow-burn chemistry with steamy kisses Emotionally complex characters Secret relationships + sneaking around Supportive best friends who give the best pep talks Moments that make your heart ache in the best way And a hero who isnโt afraid to show up and fight for the girl he lovesโฆ โฆthen I think youโll fall in love with Wish You Were Mine too.
Third book in the series. This time Lucy and Owen's story. Different tropes: age gap, professor/student, brother's friend, sports romance. Some difficult topics- assault, violence, drinking which add to the drama. Despite the circumstances, Judy has you rooting for Owen and Lucy. He is so sweet and you feel for him having to sneak around and keep mum as his job would be on the line. As it's college , a little steamier than the high school romances but always PG13. Definitely worth adding to your TBR list. Don't miss out! I received an ARC and love being part of the team that got to enjoy it early on. Hope the next one is Theo's story .
