Grant Morrison has been working with DC Comics for twenty five years, after beginning their American comics career with acclaimed runs on ANIMAL MAN and DOOM PATROL. Since then they have written such best-selling series as JLA, BATMAN and New X-Men, as well as such creator-owned works as THE INVISIBLES, SEAGUY, THE FILTH, WE3 and JOE THE BARBARIAN. In addition to expanding the DC Universe through titles ranging from the Eisner Award-winning SEVEN SOLDIERS and ALL-STAR SUPERMAN to the reality-shattering epic of FINAL CRISIS, they have also reinvented the worlds of the Dark Knight Detective in BATMAN AND ROBIN and BATMAN, INCORPORATED and the Man of Steel in The New 52 ACTION COMICS.
In their secret identity, Morrison is a "counterculture" spokesperson, a musician, an award-winning playwright and a chaos magician. They are also the author of the New York Times bestseller Supergods, a groundbreaking psycho-historic mapping of the superhero as a cultural organism. They divide their time between their homes in Los Angeles and Scotland.
Fun story and art. Writing a bit choppy for me which I find common with Grant Morrison stories. Not so much poor writing with plot holes or anything. I actually quite like GM stories. Much more for me that with GM, I feel there are assumptions of backstory, or lore, or character development that I just don’t have so I feel like I’m missing something. Bats and DP are a combo that never occurred to me and I enjoyed it. DC and Marvel worlds cross when two cosmic beings “hook up” and their universes entangle. I found Bats and DP to be surprisingly patient with each other’s perspectives.
There were surprise, to me, bonus stories too. John Constantine/Dr. Strange was weird and cool. Nightwing/Laura Kinney Wolverine was cool. Harley Quinn/Hulk was kinda fun but the style was not my cup of tea… Static/Ms. Marvel was cute and cool.
None of those extra stories are explicitly tied to the cosmic hookup being how the DC/Marvel cross each other the way Bats and DP do but they do appear to be meeting each other for the first time. Unlike some many of the other DC/Marvel crossover stories coming out (e.g. Superman/Spider-man) where the characters all somehow exist in the same world. Personally I have difficult wrapping my mind around that premise.
¡Batman🦇 y Deadpool🐶 enfrentándose cara a cara!
Overall, nowhere as good as the other one. Grant Morrison's story had some fun bits of Deadpool dialogue, and Cassandra Nova was a cool villain for it, but it constantly felt like there were panels missing, it just kept jumping around, and not in a purposeful way. The Amanda Conner story was silly and cute. BY FAR the best story was the Nightwing/X-23 story. The art was fantastic, I love how similar their costumes were, and the comparison of the characters (nepo heroes!) and their inner caption boxes was really insightful and cool. That story was worth the price of admission, the rest was mid to disappointing.

I mean… what can I say? It’s Morrison writing a Batman/Deadpool crossover and they use it to basically criticize the industry in their usual style and it’s so damn good. The backup stories are also pretty nice, I especially liked the Constantine/Doctor Strange one and it made me want a full story about those two cause it would be a blast like the one here.
MAN THIS SHIT WAS HILARIOUS I LOVED IT. Serious Batman along with “idgaf”-Deadpool!?! And the double cross of Deadpool being on the side of whoever the fuck he wants, jokes had NOTHING on him.
You cannot forget the short snippets of the others too. Wonder Woman and captain america??? My screen was melting.
Always nice to read a Marvel/DC crossover. The best supplement stories in this one was Strange/Constantine and Nightwing/X23. Main story was on par with the other issue.
Hulk/Harley was the most random crossover here. In the main story, it only made sense that Slade Wilson would be mentioned. Darkclaw was a nice surprise.
