Toto vydání vyšlo jako samostatně neprodejná příloha k časopisu Premiere. Charriérův Motýlek vyšel v Paříži v roce 1969 a rázem se stal literární senzací. Jistě potěší zejména novou generaci čtenářů, neboť je to nejen slavný bestseller, ale především výborné počtení. Francouz Henri Charrière strávil dvanáct let v trestanecké kolonii na Ďábelských ostrovech ve Francouzské Guayaně. Dvacet let po svém úspěšném útěku sedl a napsal o svém životě knihu. O obvinění z vraždy, kterou nespáchal, o odsouzení k doživotí, o deportaci do tropického pekla, kde se ocitl roku 1931, o dvou letech strávených na samotce, o příteli roztrhaném žraloky při pokusu o útěk, o sedmi dalších nezdařených pokusech i o tom posledním, úspěšném, kterým se ve 40. letech dopravil do úkrytu ve Venezuele...

The second volume keeps up the trend of the first one: from artistic point of view, it is quite bad, but taking into account the message the book wants to transmit, it is at least acceptable.

After reading opinions on the authenticity of the book as a memoir, I am almost certain that only a little part of the adventures told in it were experienced directly by Charriere. He was probably influenced by many stories the other inmates told and maybe some of them were happening during his time in Guyana, but it is hard to believe a single man went through all of this. Nevertheless, since he did not plagiarized any of the existing novels, I believe he did no harm in borrowing them and presenting as his own adventures.

If I would have been in his place, I would probably write the book differently. I would be still collecting these separate events and present them as the adventures of a single character, but a character that I have met in the prison.

ಮೊದಲ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಂತೆ ಈ ಭಾಗದಲ್ಲೂ ಕೂಡ ಪ್ಯಾಪಿಯ ಸಾಹಸಮಯ ಬದುಕು ಮುಂದುವರಿಯುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಕೂಡ ಕಷ್ಟ ಕೋಟಲೆಗಳು ಅನೇಕಾನೇಕ. ಆದರೆ ಅವುಗಳೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಮೀರಿ, ಜೀವನ ಪ್ರೀತಿ, ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಬದುಕಿಗಾಗಿ ಅವನು ಹೋರಾಡುತ್ತಲೆ ಸಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಏಕಾಂತ ವಾಸ ಮುಗಿಸಿ ದ್ವೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಮರಳುವ ಪ್ಯಾಪಿ ಪಲಾಯನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನ ವಿಫಲವಾಗಿ ಈ ಬಾರಿ ಎಂಟು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಏಕಾಂತ ವಾಸಕ್ಕೆ ದೂಡಲ್ಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ. ತನ್ನ ಸಾಹಸ ಕಾರ್ಯದಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ಅದೃಷ್ಟದಿಂದ ಎರಡು ವರ್ಷ ಮುಂಚೆಯೇ ಏಕಾಂತ ವಾಸವನ್ನೇ ಕೊನೆಗೊಳಿಸಿ ದ್ವೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಮರಳುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಇದರ ನಡುವೆ ಜೈಲಿನೊಳಗೇ ಬಂಡಾಯವೆದ್ದು ಅನೇಕ ಕೈದಿಗಳ ಮಾರಣ ಹೋಮವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಆದರೆ ಪ್ಯಾಪಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಚಾಕಚಕ್ಯತೆಯಿಂದ ಸಾವಿನಂಚಿನಿಂದ ಪಾರಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ನಂತರ ಹುಚ್ಚು ಹಿಡಿದವನ ಥರ ನಾಟಕವಾಡಿ ಹುಚ್ಚಾಸ್ಪತ್ರೆ ಸೇರಿ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಪಲಾಯನಗೈಯ್ಯಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಅದು ಕೂಡ ವಿಫಲವಾಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಮತ್ತೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಡೆವಿಲ್ ಐಲ್ಯಾಂಡ್ ಎಂಬ ರಾಜಕೀಯ ಕೈದಿಗಳ ದ್ವೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದ ಸೇರುತ್ತಾನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಅಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಪಲಾಯನಗೈಯಲು ಸಫಲನಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆದರೆ ದುರಾದೃಷ್ಟವಶಾತ್ ಅವನ ಜೊತೆ ಬಂದ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತ ಸಾಯುತ್ತಾನೆ. (ಪ್ರತಿ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನದಲ್ಲೂ ಪ್ಯಾಪಿಯ ತನ್ನ ನೆಚ್ಚಿನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಲೇ ಇರುತ್ತಾನೆ)

ಸಫಲನಾದ ಮೇಲೆ 'ಕ್ವಿಕ್ ಕ್ವಿಕ್' ಎಂಬ ಚೀನಾ ದೇಶದ ವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಯೊಡನೆ ಜೊತೆಗೂಡಿ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಕಣ್ತಪ್ಪಿಸಿ ಜಾರ್ಜ್ ಟೌನ್ ಎಂಬ ಪ್ರದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಸೇರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಕೆಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ಯಾಪಿಯು, ಇಂದಿರಾ ಎಂಬ ಭಾರತೀಯ ಹುಡುಗಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇಮಿಸಿ ಮದುವೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರ ಜೊತೆಗೂಡಿ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ವಿವಿಧ ಕೆಲಸಗಳನ್ನ ಮಾಡುವುದು, ಆ ಕೆಲಸಗಳಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಆಪತ್ತು, ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ಪಟ್ಟ ಸಂತೋಷದ ಮತ್ತು ದುಃಖದ ದಿನಗಳು,ಇಂದಿರಾಳ ಜೊತೆಗಿನ ವಿರಸ, ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ, ಎಲ್ಲರನ್ನೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಜಾರ್ಜ್ ಟೌನ್ ನಿಂದ ಪ್ಯಾಪಿಯೋನ್ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯುವುದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಕಥೆ ಸಾಗುತ್ತ ಹೋಗುತ್ತದೆ.

ಕೊನೆಗೆ ವೆನೆಜುವೆಲಾ ದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದು ಅಲ್ಲಿನ ಕೈದಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.

ಅಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಕೂಡ ಅನೇಕ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನು, ಗೌರವವನ್ನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ ಮತ್ತು ಜೈಲಿನಿಂದ ಹೊರಬರುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಆ ದೇಶ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಪೌರತ್ವ ನೀಡುತ್ತದೆ. ಪ್ಯಾಪಿಯು ಉಲ್ಲಾಸದಿಂದ ಮುಂದಿನ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರ ಜೀವನಕ್ಕೆ ಕಾಲಿಡಲು ಅಣಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾನೆ.

“ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಎಷ್ಟೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕಷ್ಟ ಪಡುತ್ತಾನೆ ಎಂದು ಓದಿದಾಗ ನಾವಿರುವ ಕಾಲಘಟ್ಟ ತುಂಬಾ ವಿಶೇಷವೆನಿಸುತ್ತೆ. ಮನುಷ್ಯ ಮನುಷ್ಯನನ್ನೇ ಕ್ರೂರವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಸುಖಕ್ಕೆ ಬಳಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದು ಪ್ರಪಂಚಕ್ಕೆ ತತ್ವ ಹೇಳುವ ಪಾಶ್ಚಾತ್ಯ ದೇಶಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಚ್ಚು ಮತ್ತು ಘನಘೋರ.

ದೇಶಗಳ ಪರ್ಯಟನೆ ಮಾಡಿ ಕೊನೆಗೂ ಪ್ಯಾಪಿಲನ್ ಸ್ವತಂತ್ರನಾಗಿ ಉತ್ತಮ ಬಾಳ್ವೆ ನಡೆಸಬೇಕೆಂಬುದೇ ಈ ಭಾಗ-೨ ರಲ್ಲಿದೆ. ಕೆಲವು ಸಂದರ್ಭಗಳಂತೂ ಓದುಗನ ನಾಡಿಮಿಡಿತವನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿದರೆ, ಕೆಲವು ಸನ್ನಿವೇಶಗಳು ಭಾವನಾತ್ಮಕವಾಗಿದೆ.

este un roman de aventuri, bun de citit in liceu sau pe acolo. dar pentru ca sunt intr-o misiune, sa citesc toate cartile din biblioteca, asa am ajuns si la papillon. stiam despre carte, dar nu asa de multe. am citit-o fix ca pe i carte de aventuri, si folosesc aici aventuri intr-un sens foarte larg, 0entru ca de fapt sunt toate caznele unui ocnas si incercarile sale de a evada, precum si reusitele evadirilor sale.
in anii'30, franta trata prost condamnatii pe viata, unii dintre nevinovati, si ii trimitea in niste colonii penale, in niste ocne in insulele salvarii, in guyana franceza. si de aici toate incercarile prin care trece henri, cavi este un soi de roman autobiografic, zic un soi, caci pare ca vreo 80% e fictiune, nu le-ai trait el cu adevarat, ci le-a auzit la altii.
una peste alta, nu a fost o lectura nasola, dar nici cea mai provocatoare.

ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಭರವಸೆ ತುಂಬಾ ಮುಖ್ಯ, ಮನುಷ್ಯನ ಜೀವನದಲ್ಲಿ ಏಳು ಬೀಳು ಸಹಜ. ಅದನ್ನು ಎದುರಿಸಲು ಚೈತನ್ಯ ಬೇಕಾಗುತ್ತದೆ. ಇಂತಹ ಪುಸ್ತಕ ಅದನ್ನು ಒದಗಿಸುತ್ತದೆ ಎಂಬುದು ನನ್ನ ಅಭಿಪ್ರಾಯ.

A total showcase of sheer persistence and never say die attitude, this book takes you through a life like experience of penal settlements and the mindset of a convit who will at no cost give up the dream of being free!! a must read!!

Hotovo. Tento diel mi dal riadne zabrať, nedokázala som prečítať viac ako pár strán denne. Nie, žeby toto rozprávanie nebolo zaujímavé a neuveriteľné, ale častokrát som sa pristihla pri tom, že mi siahodlhé opisy liezli na nervy, strácala som sa v menách, a krútila hlavou nad "chválenkárstvom" hlavného hrdinu.

It is an excellent book, Some chapters sounds an exaggeration but if you read it is a fiction its worth a read. The story emphasizes on hope, courage, and grit.
