“When America is attacked, Americans stand together.” America’s enemies conspired—and plunged the nation into darkness. A devastating EMP strike wipes out the U.S. power grid, silencing cities and plunging millions into panic. In a quiet California apartment complex, a programmer and an engineer—a man and a woman bound first by necessity, then by love—join forces to hold their community together as society collapses. Together, they forge a coalition of neighbors, veterans, families, and strangers who refuse to surrender to chaos. Against hunger, lawlessness, and despair, they fight to keep civilization alive one day at a time. As darkness spreads across the land, their courage and unity will test the limits of human endurance—and prove that America’s light still burns, even when the power goes out. Pulsed is a gripping post-apocalyptic thriller about resilience, ingenuity, and the strength of ordinary Americans standing together in extraordinary times.
I really enjoyed reading this book. The strength they show along with the timing of a new arrival was so interesting to read. I wasn’t sure if I’d like a book about war or not but the way the people worked together to fend off the enemy was remarkable. Watching a relationship emerge in the middle of chaos was beautiful. So many good and heart breaking moments. I loved that the government wanted to use their tactics since they worked so well. For being as long as it is, I never lost interest in what was going on in the book, I always wondered what was next.
Pulsed delivers a chilling “what if” scenario that feels all too real. When an EMP strike plunges America into darkness, ordinary people must rise to extraordinary challenges. This story is packed with tension, heart, and hope as a programmer and an engineer fight to keep their community alive against hunger, lawlessness, and despair. A powerful tale of resilience and unity—perfect for fans of survival fiction and fast-paced thrillers.
