Rate this book
Evelyn is a SocialBuzz influencer who specializes in Christmas event planning for charities. When she is hired to rescue a struggling Noelville, Quebec fundraiser for the homeless, she runs into a solid road block called Nicolas, who is the owner of the event's mansion and hates all things Christmas. She convinces him to allow her free rein of the estate, and while exploring comes across a long abandoned Christmas Village, centered around the original Maple Syrup shack, built to look like Santa's workshop. The gears start to turn and the most exciting, viral event blooms in her mind. But how can she get the mansion's grumpy owner to agree to reopening the village? Tender and complex, this heart warming happily ever after, with just a touch of french flair, will put you in the Christmas spirit and have you calling out "Joyeux Noel" at the top of your lungs.

I loved this cozy romantic christmas novel set in the beautiful city of Quebec, where we travel with the media influencer Evelyn Christmas, who was invited by the city's mayor to help in a fundraiser for the homeless. Evelyn had herself known hardship as she was orphaned as a new born baby, so these fundraisers had become her job. The only drawback was the grandson of the mayor, Nicolas was a business man and a real estate developer, who furthermore hated anything related to christmas. He obviously thought that Evelyn was a sham, and hated what she so enjoyed doing. However as they got thrown together, and had to help one another to set up the twelve days to christmas activities, their feelings for one another changed. They got to know that they both had demons they had to cope with, and that the festive season brought these to the fore. They had both suffered loss, but one coped by bringing cheer to others, whilst the other turned into a grinch. I really love the positive vibe Evelyn brings to this story, the kindness shown towards those forgotten by society, and the fact that she managed to bring the necessary change in Nicolas' outlook on life. This is a story where enemies turn to lovers, and I am so glad to have a happy ending. A novel which comes at such an appropriate time with christmas just around the corner and which warms the heart.

Christmas with French flair!

Great Christmas read!
I read a lot of sweet romance, and I love when I stumble across a unique twist on classic themes. I love the grumpy-sunshine trope in romance, and this one played out so well! I love that we get to peek into the world of social media influencing and that it truly can make a difference in a community and peoples’ lives. I loved the depth that came with Evelyn’s profession and character and the heart behind it. I also love that it’s based in Canada. This was new for me as well, and I loved learning Christmas cultural details that differ from my own.
I highly recommend. Cute story! On to book 2!
