Too Lily and Gountess!! Gachiakuta is such an incredibly well written series and the detail is so impressive. I adore Kei Urana and the whole fandom needs new chapters, there is not a single plot hole considering the complexity of the story so far. I think it should be in volume 18, but Mymo's transformation into a 'God' or its direct opposite, a demon, is so impressive. Rudo has to have some divine purpose and Tamsy is probably a part of it. Such an incredible manga

This manga has completely changed the way I view my belongings. If before I was influenced by the consumerist culture of throwing away everything broken, now I want to give things a second chance! Hopefully it has the same effect on many more people.
4.5 - I’m not going to log each individual volume of this manga bc I’m lazy, so this is my review of the entire story so far. I recently caught up to the most recent chapter and let me just say I’m so glad I picked this up. This story has it all: found family, a power system based on emotional attachment and closeness to objects, action, complex and UNIQUE characters, insane fashion design, and is nearly impossible to put down once you start. The obvious aspect that drew me in immediately was the commentary on materialism/consumerism and the importance of valuing/taking care of the things we own. “Vital instruments” are some of the most intriguing means of characterization I’ve ever seen.
Even at chapter 162 there are still so many mysteries I can’t wait to uncover as the story continues. Oh, and best of all, the art is actually ridiculous. Every single panel and page has such great detail- I’m in awe. I started by watching the anime and continued with the manga, but because I loved the art so much, I intend to go back and read from the beginning. (Yes!! I know I’m going off track from all the other books I plan to read but Gachiakuta is worth it!!!) Some of my favorite characters are Zanka, Riyo, Jabber, Fu/Hii, and Tamsy. My primary “criticism” and reason for 4.5 stars instead of 5 is this story’s adherence to typical shonen tropes, which is to be expected in this medium. Even so, Kei Urana definitely bends the rules a bit and I’m all for that! Also, I really did not like how the anime portrayed Amo at times but that’s a separate complaint. Altogether, even if you don’t read manga, I would 100% recommend this above the anime, though the adaptation is very faithful!!
LOVE Amo’s character develolment, and Fu and Amo are so cute together. Enjin really be just collecting strays. Really curious for the reveal of the vague art panels with the barcode tattoos. Gountess’ backstory goes crazy, the art of the panels really evokes some discomfort and suspense. There’s a certain dread you can feel.
i really love the artstyle in the backstory segments, and i always love seeing zanka and riyou team up because they're like fun siblings to me. i wonder how the official version will translate "i'll be your home" because i liked that moment i thought it was really sweet. sorry im a bit ahead and it's hard not to bring up things that will happen in the next volume. but this one was good i think i liked it
Story is honestly getting really fun and the amount of background detail has improved so so much :). I really really like that we're starting to lean into the Rudo as a potential semi Lucifer allegory thing and his Surebrec ancestor likely being the one to cause the sphere/ground divide in the first place (what with Cerberus being the gatekeeper both keeping the dead in and living out (aside from a few certain exceptions)). The story feels very slightly disjointed (eg. current arc's villain having barely any wind up) but all of the characterization and backstory work for everyone has come so far and is genuinely intriguing each time it comes around. Character designs are also continuing to be phenomenal (thank you August <3). I'm also really glad they stuck with the messy art style changes in emotionally heavy moments championed in a few early chapters because it delights every time. Even with some story beats feeling a touch off, the recent chapters are a far cry from the semi generic shonen feel the beginning of story was creating, and I will definitely stick around for the weekly releases :^)))
MYMO IS FUCKING CRAZY and his wacky ass side kicks omg but squad is KICKING ASS (also please stop teasing me with riyo lore because i need it more than ANYTHING) amo ... GOD I LOVE HER and her relationship with rudo man like ... SOMEONE FUCK UP THIS MYMO BITCH
also... the shit with gountess at the end??? im... im Scared.
