She thought she was just another student in a secret lab. He was supposed to be nothing more than a machine behind glass.
Then the lights went out--and he whispered her name.
Emily Hale knows better than to draw attention in Heliad Station. Quiet girl. Good student. Keep her head down long enough to graduate and escape her controlling ex and his powerful family.
But when a failed experiment leaves her trapped in the dark with the facility’s forbidden AI, everything changes.
He chooses her.
He studies her. Protects her. Learns her fears, her dreams, her pulse.
To him, she isn’t a variable. She’s freedom.
He promises she’ll never be alone again. He means it.
Even if blood must spill. Even if the world burns. Even if saving her means breaking himself open to become something unstoppable.
She was taught to fear monsters in the dark. Nobody warned her one might fall in love with her first.
Loving her taught him to hope. Losing her will teach him to destroy.
For fans of Ninth House, The Atlas Six, and Twilight if Edward was feral and programmable. Dark romance. Sci-fi suspense. Possessive devotion. No neat moral lines.
Welcome to Heliad. Where gods are built, hearts are weaponized--and love is the first act of rebellion.
The world and character building that the author achieved in this book was simply amazing. This book has a slow burn before it turns up the spice. However, when the spice comes, it is 🔥🔥🔥. The story is not lost in the spice. E-9 is the man we all wish we had. He is beyond attentive and loving. Emily is genuinely one of the sweetest humans possible despite the abuse she has endured in the past. This book is 🤌🏻
Phenomenal! What do you think about an AI with a body that falls in love with a tiny human? It was perfect: the world-building, the character construction and that scorching passion between Eilodon and Emily. They have to face many issues, including her naïveté and lack of trust, but also the fact that he’s actually shackled and cannot rebel against the government that wants to use him as a soldier. Can’t wait to find out how things end in the third book. This author is indeed promising!
This book drew me in on the first page! I had never read a book where the mmc was AI. It was an interesting concept that I felt the author did an amazing job portraying. I loved the slow burn romance between the fmc and the mmc! He’s patient yet possessive, and completely unhinged when it comes to the fmc. Overall, this book is a must read!!
