MJ Vale - "The Santa Sleigh Countdown" - 4 out of 5 stars story about a guy who didn't get the promotion he expected, but unexpectedly finds himself in the position of saving christmas for everyone and getting his fondest wish for christmas too.
Naomi Bellina "Spirits of the Season". 3.5 out of 5 stars. Two friends assist with a dead spirit's request - only to find out there is more to the request than meets the eye.
Lucy Lakestone "Waylaid by Wassail"
Fyre Hart's "For Love or Magic" - 4.5 out of 5 stars Sweet story about Mairen, a woman who left her heritage on Aileandra Isle to have some freedom, to come to Florida to be the man she loves. They have a baby, which was forbidden. Once he passes, she returns to the island where her grown up daughter lives. Is it too late for her to go back to her magic? Enjoyed this story, but I also felt like I was left hanging. (check to see if it was Neris). As a result, I quickly checked to see if there were others in this series - there is a book out in Dec! Preorder done! I must read more.
Ann McIntosh's It's a Wonderful Corgi Life - 5 out of 5 stars Adored this. It's told from the view of a dog who thinks the grass is greener on the other side. I adored this story.
Chrissy Chicory's "Mistletoe and Candy Canes" - 4 out of 5 stars. Really cute story, but i couldn't figure out what I thought of Mossy (Nan's husband). I've decided to read the 1st book in the series to get more background. that being said, this had a very cute message about the true meaning of christmas.
Kristen Painter's "Just One Wish" - 5 out of 5 stars Love every Kristen Painter story I've ever read. Shop owner Evie accidentally unleashes a genie. He can grant her 4 wishes. She discovers the way to break his curse...he has to fall in love and be loved in return by midnight. Evie exposes Jasper to an evening of Christmas fun so that they can get to know each other better. Can they fall in love and break the curse?
This is a fun and cute collection of holiday stories. I especially loved the stories Spirits of the Season and Just One Wish. There are 7 stories in all. There are animal stories, romances, family tales, mysteries, and paranormal tales. I recommend the book to anyone who likes a good collection of quick, cozy holiday reads.
I am a huge Kristen Painter fan. But this lovely book introduced me to several other wonderful authors. Really fun short stories introducing wonderful worlds.
A mixture of short stories based in Florida, mainly based around Christmas and something to do with sci-fi. Some of them I enjoyed a bit, others I didn't, but always good to give them a try 😊!
