Expected 6 Oct 26A police officer will do anything to catch the serial killer that got away—even if it means playing a deadly game in the icy wilderness.
Sweetwood Falls, Yukon, has seen too much terror for one small town. Corporal Aurora Hunt still blames herself for not catching the Shadow Box Killer before five women lost their lives. The killings stopped two years ago, and her colleagues believe the murderer is dead. But Aurora isn’t convinced.
A chilling discovery on a winter’s morning confirms her fears. The crime scene is all too familiar—a woman’s mutilated body, and beneath it, a box containing a gruesome souvenir. But this time, there’s a special message, daring Aurora to play a game that will lead her into the wilderness to try and save the next victim.
Canadian Watcher Squad survivalist Kordell Greene is part of the past that Aurora has tried to put behind her. He’s also the only person equipped to guide her through this deadly terrain. But somehow, the killer knows all their secrets. Solving cryptic clues as they battle the elements, Aurora and Kordell must confront dark truths they’ve withheld, even from each other. And always, the Shadow Box Killer is one step ahead, drawing them deeper into a twisted game where the slightest mistake may be their last.

WOW! WOW! WOW! Darlene Turner dishes up a dark and twisty thriller with a huge side order of eerieness, revealing a serial killer’s point of view!
She’ll transport you to Sweetwood Falls, Yukon and introduce you to Corporal Aurora ‘Rory’ Hunt who is struggling to come to grips with the lack of closure in the Shadow Box Killer case. It’s been two years since the serial killer struck and Aurora is haunted by the belief that he’s still alive. Aurora has already been through so much before we meet her on the page; she’s broken in so many ways and still continues to fight evil.
Readers following this series will remember the Canadian Watcher’s Squad called upon to liaise with the police department and will be happy to meet another member of the Greene family, Kordell. He walks a thin line with this case because of his history with Rory and you’ll love how Turner weaves the backstory to reveal a devastating secret.
I’ll remember this book because of Turner’s spotlight on how God uses difficult experiences for good. Her engaging plot shows that God uses the ashes of life to create beauty. I loved the nail-biting journey to forgiveness and reconciliation.
Don’t miss out on this series! There’s still time to read book one before book two releases.
Triple C story: Canadian author. Canadian setting. Clean read.

This is an un forgettable read: dynamic characters, unpredictable plot, and a suspense-filled story that keeps you turning pages

Is there anyway that I can give this book 10 stars? This book will draw you right into the story, sink it's claws in and not let go until the last spine-tingling page. I absolutely loved the first book, but this one went above and beyond anything that I have read this year. Before you start this book, make sure that you have nothing else to do. Once you start, you won't put it down. Corporal Aurora Hunt still holds onto the guilt of not being able to arrest the Shadow Box Killer, whom hasn't been seen in two years. Now there are more killings that are aimed towards her. The killer is leaving clues for Aurora to find the next missing person before they become the next victim . It's all a game to the SBK and has laid out the rules, if you don't follow them then someone else dies. Aurora has been told that she can have only one other person help her. She chooses her best friend from childhood, Kordell Greene. Can the two of them work together to bring in this killer before more people die? Even as dark and twisty as the story is , I loved how God's light is still shining throughout the book. Thank you Netgalley for approving me to read an early copy of this book. This will be an automatic buy as soon as it hits the shelf. If you haven't read the first one, you still have time to read it before this one comes out.

COORDINATES OF DEATH by Darlene L. Turner is the utterly gripping, page-turner story of Corporal Aurora Hunt and Canadian Watcher Kordell Greene as they try to capture the elusive Shadow Box Killer. Having her suspicions confirmed that Shadow Box Killer is still alive and back to his murderous tricks again after a two-year hiatus, Aurora knows she must capture him this time. However, will they be the hunter or those being hunted this time?
Aurora has endured a lot of hardships in her life – the abduction and death of her 3-year-old sister, her mother’s deep depression institutionalization, a horrific personal event that took place just before her best friend left town without a word and an almost marriage that cost her a future husband and her best friend. Determined not to fall into the deep abys her mother did, she went into law enforcement. Even that is daunting at times with an immediate supervisor seemingly wanting her to crash and burn.
Kordell came from a childhood no one should have to live through. His parents died in a helicopter crash, bounced around in the foster system and finally ending in the Roche household. The one bit of sunshine was his wonderful friendship with Aurora. Roche’s two sons took pleasure in bullying Kordell. The events of his last days under their roof and the threat thrown out, left him no choice but to run away without a word to his best friend. On the streets, tempted by everything and threatened by the rest, Mr. Greene seemed too good to be true when he showed up. He was eventually adopted into billionaire Greene’s family and became part of the Canadian Watchers Squad, with his specialty of survivalist and paramedic.
After the SBK reappearance, Aurora and Kordell’s reunion happened when she reached out to him for his professional help as one of the CWS. When Aurora doesn’t follow the clues to the letter, consequences are dire. Will they be able to find the next kidnapped women? Why has he singled out Aurora and Kordell? Will SBK’s clues end up being the catalyst for them to make peace with pasts events? Or will it tear their renewed friendship apart? How is the SBK staying steps ahead of them? Could there be a leak in the PD? Who is the SBK?
COORDINATES OF DEATH is a magnificent, well-crafted story that will demand your reading time to sift out clues alongside Aurora and Kordell. Darlene L. Turner gives us a story of family, hardships, friendship, strengths, danger, suspense, forgiveness, sweet romance and wraps it all in a wonderful thread of faith. COORDINATES OF DEATH is 100% a FIVE STAR book that I highly recommend to everyone. While the second book in the Arctic Protectors series, it can most definitely be read as a standalone book.
I received an ARC of this book with no requirement or expectations of a review. All opinions are completely my own.

Want a book that makes the hairs stand up on the back of your neck? Well, this is the book! A great page turner that will have you looking over your shoulders for sure and certain. I finished this one until 2am in the morning. Late night reading is my favorite time to read.
A lot of hearts stopping moments and twists and turns along the way to keep you reading and guessing!
I couldn't put this book down
Lots of awesome well rounded out characters that I liked and didnt like.
Nadine Black is just such a character. She is good at what she does but she's not exactly people friendly or coworker friendly. Didn't much care for her uncle either.
Turner does such an excellent job with this book. Its a little different from what she normally writes. In my opinion, it's a bit more exciting and interesting. I won't say why but I will let y'all figure it out.
I'm giving this story 5 stars for a job well done! For keeping me on the edge of my seat turning the pages to see what happens next!
Aurora has quite the story to tell! Can she solve the two year old crime that the Shadow Box Man started and she wasn't able to finish?
Y'all just have to pick this one up to find out! You wont be disappointed either.
A little of everything in here friends!
Im still thinking about this book y'all! Wow! Awesome!
Thanks for the opportunity to read and review! I was NOT required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.

If you love books where characters have to outsmart a killer while fighting for survival in the wilderness, Coordinates of Death delivers just that! The plot centers on Aurora Hunt, a police officer who is thrown into chaos when a clever serial killer from her past suddenly resurfaces. When a personal message is left at a crime scene, she is forced into an uneasy partnership with Kordell Greene, a man from her history she thought she'd left behind. The author does a great job building tension, combining tricky clues, extreme outdoor hazards, and a sweet, second-chance romance that keeps the story moving.
The interesting part of this mystery is how the harsh, frozen environment feels like a character itself. Aurora and Kordell are constantly pushed to their limits, dealing with freezing storms on the outside while trying to heal old emotional wounds on the inside. It is a wholesome, suspenseful thriller that will keep you guessing from the first page until the final showdown.

Wow!!! Talk about suspense thriller this is it! Darlene L Turner a NYT Best Seller has done it again! I couldn't put the book down! This is a book that true crime buffs will absolutely love! Darlene keeps you in suspense until nearly the end as to the identity of the serial killer dubbed the Shadow Box Killer or SBK because he leaves shadow boxes under his victims. SBK always seems to be one step ahead of the taskforce and uses technology including hacking to erase video footage, ja, cell signals, and stream the videos of the victims. How does SBK always stay one step ahead of the taskforce and seem to know what they are going to do even to the vehicle Rory will drive from the station since the SUV isn't hers or the stations. It's her Staff Sergeant's yet only 3 people were to know she was to take it. When she and Kordell go out tf the station to the vehicle they find a creepy note under the wiper on the windshield. SBK loves to taunt the victims' families, Rory and Kordell with personal things. SBK leaves coordinates to the locations of clues to find the victims along with a countdown timer to rescue the victims prior to their demise. However, no matter how hard the Taskforce works SBK leaves a trail of victims in his/her wake.
The setting is Alaska and the Yukon Territory in Canada where a serial killer is targeting women. He/she stopped for 2 years after Corporal Aurora Hunt (Rory for short) shot him in/her the back after SBK was shooting art the police. Most of her fellow officers believe SBK is dead, but Rory doesn't when bodies start showing up again with the same MO with a few variations. Her fellow officers believe the recent murders are done by a copycat killer.
They process the evidence, but there aren't any fingerprints. With each killing SBK slightly varies the MO just enough to cause the police including Rory's former fiancé who married her former best friend, to believe its a copycat. No one at the station other than the Coroner and Rory's Staff Sergeant believe her.
Rory calls Kordell Greene, a childhood friend and Canadian Wilderness Survivalist, Paramedic and part of the Canadian Watchers Squad created by his adopted father, Maxwell Greene. Kordell has a horrible secret he is keeping from Rory pertaining to something that happened to her years ago that he knows about. She doesn't know he knows about it let alone his secret.
Kordell, Rory, the other officers at the Sweetwood Falls PD and the Canadian Watchers Squad must all work together to stop SBK before more women are killed.
When SBK targets Rory and Kordell they must work together to survive and Kordell must reveal the secret he has about Rory. Will Rory forgive him for withholding the secret for 20 years or will she hold a grudge?
When Rory finds out her father is responsible for her little sister, Anna's death when Rory was 10 and Anna 5, she becomes furious and demands the truth from her father. Her father said he is responsible, but not in the way she thinks. He owed a loan shark a lot of money and was late paying it so the loan shark kidnapped Anna to convince Rory's father to pay the loan. Anna's death has haunted Rory for years as she believes it was her fault and that her parents blamed her and the babysitter. When she discovers the truth will she forgive her father as God commands us to? Will she forgive herself? Will Rory and Kordell survive SBK long enough to put the past behind them and find the future together God has for them? Will Kordell finally find the faith and forgiveness God freely offers each of us? Who is SBK and will he/she be stopped?

LOVED Kordell and Aurora's story!! Kord knew Rory years ago, but he left at a time she needed him most. Rory had a crush on Kord when they knew each other years ago, and now that he's back, she feels that same attraction. Kord knows he needs to tell her his secret, though he wants to wait for the right time. Rory doesn't know that Kord knows one of her darkest secrets. When forced to tell her, Kord tells her all of it. As trouble keeps getting closer to them, and they both are caught in the cross hairs, will they be able to come out stronger on the other side? Love how Kord realizes he needs to finally make his peace with God, and how Rory realizes that with God, she can forgive the wrongs of her past. I figured out things when the characters did, which is exactly how I like it to happen, and wow, what a twist at the end!!

Wow! Just Wow! This is such an incredibly amazing book. Every one of the characters were great. A few you might want to punch but Darlene did such a great job of creating every character. Rory and Kord and their individual stories plus their personal history was wonderful. This story was action packed and had me guessing on who was SBK. What a phenomenal ending. The way that Darlene weaves Jesus into her stories is so well done. She is an incredible writer and this story is so worth reading. I enjoyed every bit of it and it was very hard to put down.

I was given an advanced copy of this book to read with the choice to review when I finished if I enjoyed it. I'm a huge fan of Darlene's other books and this one definitely did not disappoint. This was Kordell Greene's and Constable Aurora Hunt's story and while I have not read the first book in the Arctic Protectors series yet this book definitely kept me on the edge of my seat the entire read. Rory and Kordell struggling with their faith in God while trying to find the Shadow Box Killer before he took more lives kept guessing as to the identity of the killer until the very end of the book, even catching me off guard when the identity was finally revealed. I definitely give this book five stars.

Wow, wow, wow!
"Wow, wow, wow" best describes my reaction to this fantastic mystery and suspense romance. This sit-on-the-edge-of-your-seat suspense had me guessing the whole way through. Author Darlene Turner did a wonderful job with the game, clues, and twists and turns, which made it impossible for me to figure out the result. And when the end came, what a surprise it was. Absolutely fantastic!
Aurora and Kordell's past was integral to the mystery, flawlessly woven into the suspense, along with the messages of overcoming and forgiving. Their reconnection and all they faced also played wonderfully into their blossoming relationship.
This is truly a story you should not miss.

Coordinates of Death by Darlene L. Turner is a non-stop, action-packed, suspenseful page-turner from the very first page to the last! The plot is brilliantly crafted with relentless twists and turns that kept me guessing until the very end—and I never once saw the true outcome coming!
I completely fell in love with Aurora and Kordell; their strength, chemistry, and resilience brought so much life to the high-stakes drama. Darlene L. Turner has delivered a heart-pounding thriller that never lets off the gas, and I am officially hooked. I need more books about the Greene family right now!

I received this book as an ARC with no expectations of a positive review. This book is so suspenseful and complex that it has moments that the suspense and challenges that are faced can be hard to read. The mind of serial killers are complicated and scary. Aurora (Rory) and her childhood friend, Kordell (Kord) work together to track down SBK. Kord is a member of the Canadian Watchers Squad. Join Rory and Kord as they are are pulled into the sick game of this serial killer who always seems to know what is happening.
This book will haunt you and have you looking over your shoulder never knowing who you can trust.

Coordinates of Death completely had me hooked. I honestly don't think I've read a Darlene L. Turner book that I haven't enjoyed, and this one was no exception. The suspense starts early and never lets up, making it one of those books that's incredibly hard to put down because you just have to know what happens next.
I was genuinely impressed by how well the story was put together. The tension kept building, the mystery kept me guessing, and every clue pulled me further into the investigation. If you enjoy fast-paced romantic suspense with high stakes and plenty of twists, this is definitely one I'd recommend. Darlene Turner continues to prove why she's become one of my go-to authors in the genre.

Read the highly recommended, wonderfully written full of suspense and intrigue, and a must read riveting story.

Coordinates of Death is a good mystery, centered around a race for time and puzzles to solve. The secrets kept by both Aurora and Kord made me uncomfortable, although they were understandable. Tensions were high between many of the characters, lending to the intensity and suspense. I enjoy the Canadian Watchers Squad and enjoyed watching them in action in this second book featuring the family.

This story about chasing a serial killer is suspenseful, surprising, and thrilling and really worth reading.
The past we want to forget is often still hunting us. And secrets we want to stay hidden need to be revealed to be healed and forgiven.

Sweetwood Falls. Yukon is a great place to live until...Corporal Aurora Hunt wounded the Shadow Box Killer two years ago and everyone thought he was dead. Aurora didn't, especially when new bodies start showing up. Before he disappeared, he was responsible for the death of five women. Same MO every time but now he's changing it up. Aurora's former fiancé' shows his disdain with Aurora's thinking by putting her down and agreeing with their supervisor. Aurora requests The Canadian Watcher squad's wilderness trainer, Kordell Greene, help. The SBK leaves clues for Aurora & Kordell to find the next victim before he kills them. This is a race against time. Follow these two as they search for clues and the SBK. Very fast-paced story with great characters and storyline. Highly recommend this book. I was given an advance copy by the author, but these are my own thoughts and words.

Coordinates of Death is an intense and suspenseful thriller, the second book in the Arctic Protectors series by Darlene L. Turner. There are creepy scenes from the serial killer’s point of view, lots of twists and turns, and puzzles to solve in order to catch the Shadow Box Killer. If you enjoy psychological thrillers, you will like this book.

Coordinates of Death is a serial killer romantic suspense novel. The Shadow Box Killer doesn’t simply leave clues for investigators; he taunts them, sets deadlines, and deliberately uses the secrets held by Corporal Aurora “Rory” Hunt and Kordell Greene to turn them against one another.
Rory has spent years carrying shame and guilt over the deaths of her sister and mother. Family secrets play a significant role in both the mystery and the emotional development of these characters. What I appreciated most was Rory’s character growth. In a career where she is surrounded by so much evil, her faith has taken a beating, but over the course of the novel, she moves from a struggling believer to a grace clinger. She moves from victim to victor, not because the darkness disappears, but because she learns to recognize God’s presence within it.
The recurring theme of God’s light in the darkness was one of my favorite aspects of the book.
Please note that sensitive readers should be aware that the story addresses rape, suicide, and human trafficking.

Wow! excellent psychological, suspense about a serial killer who stays one step ahead of Aurora and Kordell as they and their teams try to get ahead of the clues and stay out of the killer’s clutches. Lots of danger, past secrets, faith, forgiveness, and light romance. I enjoyed reading it! I read this book free on NetGalley, but this review is my own true opinion.

I love Darlene L. Turner's books! They are always such gripping reads and this book was no exception. I really enjoyed the twists this book had. this book was so unique and stood out from other serial killer suspense novel's I've read. Seeing Aurora and Kordell's relationship slowly blossom as they worked through their pasts was quite sweet. I loved them and how real and honest their relationship was. These characters felt so real as I watched them through the ups and downs of this case. I also loved the emphasis on God and His light shining through the darkness. Overall, ten out of ten book. Would highly recommend.
