I came to Steelwood with one goal—to save my brother. One wrong move, one slip, and everything falls apart. I’m not strong. I’m not clever. I’m not prepared for the darkness that lives in this town—or the man who helps keep it safe.
Ripper. Vice President. Dangerous.
He’s all smiles, all charm… but I can see who he really is. The man beneath the mask, the cruel side he doesn’t show anyone else. And somehow, he’s drawn to me. I should hate him. I should want distance, but every touch, every glance, every command he issues has me caught somewhere between fear and desire.
He’s a risk I can’t afford to take—but the closer I get to him, the more I realize I’m already in too deep.
I catch her in my clubhouse before she even knows I’m there. A spy—and a bad one, if I’m honest. Too easy to trap, too easy to watch, too easy to want.
Haven’s soft, naive, innocent… everything I should ignore. And yet, the second I see her where she doesn’t belong, something sharp and dangerous stirs in me. She crawls under my skin, twisting my control into hunger, obsession, and a craving I’ve never let anyone see.
I’m supposed to obey orders. Stay loyal. Keep Steelwood intact. But the thought of helping her save her brother? Temptation claws at me. Risk. Danger. I thrive on it. I can’t resist.
Every look she gives, every word she whispers, every moment we’re forced close—she drags me further from the man I’ve trained myself to be. I can’t let her go. I shouldn’t want her. And yet, I do. And the darkness inside me is ready to consume anyone who tries to stand in my way.

RIPPER is Book 2 of the Steelwood MC series. It's a short and steamy, instalove with an enemies-to-lovers vibe, OTT, opposites-attract, age-gap, forced-proximity, curvy virgin gets her biker romance. Haven is a curvy girl desperate to save her brother. When she goes to the Steelwood MC to try and find someone, Ripper is drawn to the shy, curvy beauty. He is the hunky, ruthless, vice-president of the club. When she mentions needing to rescue her brother, he is suspicious, but agrees to help. These two had insane chemistry and we got a great HEA after the danger and drama. I can't wait for Hammer's story next.

Ripper is the 2nd book in the Steelwood MC Series A Dark Small Town Age Gap OTT Biker Steamy Short Romance by Julia Stone. This is the first book by Julia Stone that I have read but it is not going to be the last. I am actually going to be going back and reading the first book in this series as well as continuing the series. I just fell in love with Ripper and Heaven's story.
I found Ripper to be this dark, magnetic, emotional roller coaster ride that leaves you feeling emotionally raw. This is a dark MC romance that enthralls you from the very first word and will not let you go till you close the book. Julia Stone has crafted a story that will drag you through danger, heat, and complete and total heartbreak leaving your heart shattered – and you're going to find yourself relishing every second of what this book puts you through.
Haven has come to Steelwood with one and only one mission: to find and save her brother Paulie. Haven is terrified, burning with need to find Paulie but at the same time she knows that she's completely out of her own jurisdiction. She's found herself in a town that's ruled by outlaws and deep dark secrets. She knows that there's going to be enemies around every corner. But, the one person she never expects is him.
Haven had been sent to Steelwood for one reason, insinuate heself into the Steelwood MC and spy on the club all so that Paulie would be released. But, Ripper discovered her prior to her being able to discovering anything of use. Despite that, Haven did everything in her power to complete her job, but when she quickly realized that it wasn't going to happen, she choose to cut her looses and get out, she didn't count on Ripper having made other plans for her.
Ripper is the Vice President of his MC and he's the man that everyone fears the most. And Haven is the last person Haven should even think of trusting. Ripper is not just dangerous; he enjoys everything that he is and that he does. He loves the violence, the authority he exerts, the power behind his authority.
Ripper at first forced Haven to spend time with him. But, over time, she slowly choose to spend her time with him. And the more time that they spent time together, the more they got to know each other and slowly Haven started to open up to Ripper including why she had attempted in infiltrate the Steelwood MC and how she was trying to save Paulie.
Ripper was never one for relationships, he didn't believe in them, and he wasn't one to risk getting hurt. But, in spending time with Haven in started to feel a connection with her and that made him want to help her and that started with keeping her secret about why she came to the MC clubhouse. Ripper did do everything in his power to help Haven save Paulie and get him back alive and safe, but as in life, for every action there is an adverse reaction, and Ripper quickly realized there were consequences to his actions.
But, behind Ripper's charming grin he has a cutthroat reputation that he has to uphold no matter what. Behind even that reputation there's this man who we find is just as haunted as Haven is. And when we see Haven and Ripper finally come together, we see sparks of obsession ignite, the lines between hate and hunger blur into something that neither Haven nor Ripper could possibly resist.
The beauty of this book is more than just the chemistry, even though that chemistry is combustible, enslaving, and you just can't put it down no matter how hard you try. Julia has managed to make you feel this intense internal war. Haven hide her immense strength beneath her fear. Ripper uses his cruelty and his enjoyment of violence to mask his true devotion. You can see that the connection between Haven and Ripper is raw, unfiltered, and it's born from these two people who are broken and are now daring to believe that they might just actually be worth saving after all.
Julia has managed to perfectly balance the emotional tension with the addition of grit and heat. We find throughout the book that Ripper's possessiveness over Haven isn't only about his dominance over her, it's about protecting her from both of their enemies, finding both their redemption, and he's terrified of the vulnerability he's finding within himself in not only falling in love with Haven but just falling in love for the first time in his life. And we see that Haven isn't his weakness, she's really his mirror. Haven shows Ripper the very man that he could be, the man that he's terrified to be.
Ripper was written with darkness at it's heart. Julia's words not only cut deep, shattering not only one's heart but also your soul, but at the same time you find that there is healing in this book at the same time. Ripper was never only meant to be just a romance – this is a story about trauma and the power of choosing love when love is the most dangerous card presented you on the table.
This book is beautiful and brutal in equal measures. Ripper's story is one that just ozzes tension, tenderness, and all the temptation possible. It's the story of two people who shouldn't be able to work and yet they find that they can't walk away from each other.
This is the perfect book for those readers who love dangerous romance, emotionally charged storylines, and devastatingly hot characters, your going to find this book is nothing short of pure adrenaline.
What happens when the monster who should destroy you becomes the one person who makes you feel alive?
Julia Stone’s Ripper is a dark, magnetic, and emotionally raw MC romance that grips you from page one and doesn’t let go. It’s the kind of story that drags you through danger, heat, and heartbreak—and makes you crave every second of it.
Haven arrives in Steelwood with nothing left but a mission: save her brother. She’s desperate, scared, and way out of her depth in a town ruled by outlaws and secrets. She expects enemies. She doesn’t expect him.
Ripper—the club’s Vice President, the man everyone fears, and the last person she should ever trust. He’s not just dangerous; he enjoys it. The violence, the control, the power. But behind his charming grin and cutthroat reputation is a man who’s just as haunted as she is. And when their paths collide, obsession sparks, and the line between hate and hunger blurs into something neither of them can resist.
The beauty of Ripper isn’t just in the chemistry—though it’s explosive, addictive, and utterly unputdownable—it’s in how Stone makes you feel every internal war. Haven’s strength hides beneath fear. She’s not just his weakness—she’s his mirror, showing him the man he’s terrified to be.
Julia Stone writes darkness with heart. Her words cut deep, but they heal too. Ripper isn’t just a biker romance—it’s about trauma, power, and choosing love when it’s the most dangerous option on the table.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5) Ripper is brutal and beautiful in equal measure—a story that bleeds tension, tenderness, and temptation. It’s about two people who shouldn’t work and can’t walk away. For readers who love their romance dangerous, emotional, and devastatingly hot, this book is pure adrenaline.

Haven tried everything possible to complete her assignment and when she realised it wasn’t going to happen she decided to cut her losses, but Ripper had other plans for her. Spending time together allowed Ripper and Haven to get to know each other, which gave her the confidence to open up to him about everything.
Even though Ripper didn’t really do relationships, he felt a connection with Haven, that made him want to help her, so he didn’t reveal her secret about why she had come to the MC clubhouse. Ripper did everything possible to help Haven get her brother back, but there were consequences to everything he had done. Luckily, Haven and Ripper realised their feelings for each other were genuine and worked towards a future together.
This captivating story with all the angst, suspense, passion, danger and drama, had me hooked from the first chapter and was a really enjoyable read, that I highly recommend to anyone looking for a book with a bit of danger and excitement.

This series had me in a full chokehold. Four books. Two days. No regrets.
The Steelwood MC series completely captivated me from the very first page to the final, perfectly wrapped ending. Each book focuses on a different couple, and somehow Julia Stone manages to pack raw emotion, genuine character growth, trauma survival, and scorching chemistry into stories that may be short, but never once feel rushed or incomplete.
The emotional depth genuinely surprised me. These characters have been through hell, and watching them confront their pasts, heal, and find love within the Steelwood MC world was incredibly satisfying. The character development was strong across the board, and each romance felt distinct, intentional, and earned.
And let’s talk about the heat. Because wow. The chemistry is absolute fire, intense, addictive, and written in a way that perfectly complements the emotional stakes rather than overpowering them. I devoured every page.
Even though these are shorter stories, they are written so well and wrapped up so cleanly it’s honestly a chef’s kiss situation. No loose ends, no rushed conclusions, just solid storytelling that leaves you craving more.
Safe to say I’m adding the rest of Julia Stone’s books straight to my TBR without hesitation. If you love MC romance with heart, heat, and healing, the Steelwood MC series is an easy five stars and a must-read. 🔥🏍️📚
Ripper has always been happy playing the field, never wanting to settle down with anyone, until Haven walks into the clubhouse. She catches his attention straight away. He needs to find out more about her.
Haven is hoping to stay under the radar; she needs to do it for her brother, Paulie. But when she comes into contact with Ripper, she knows that she needs to be even more so, as she has caught his attention.
Ripper soon finds out that Haven is not there for a good time, and he's going to find out why. But there is something about this woman that has him doing and thinking things he normally doesn't. He is willing to help her with conditions attached, and he can't wait to cash those conditions in!
Haven may be innocent in his world, but she has tricks to take him to his knees and not even know she is doing it. Normally, the innocent act is a turn-off for him, but not this time; it draws him in like a moth to a flame, and he will gladly get burnt in her fire.

I liked this book a lot. This story reaches out and grabs the reader, pulling them along. Ripper is a character of hidden depths. On the surface, he’s smiling, charming, and a flirt, but there’s the calculating man who gets into people’s heads with ease, the grieving brother, the friend, the daredevil, and the man who falls deeply in love with Haven. Haven is being extorted as a spy to save her brother. Ripper agrees to save him. His price? A kiss… Book is SAFE. Heat is EXPLICIT, featuring a VIRGIN HEROINE. TRIGGERS include trafficking, language, violence, and unprotected sexytime. TROPES include Instalove, Damsel in Distress, Scars, and He Ain’t Heavy- He’s My Brother.

Haven walks into the Steelwood MC clubhouse with the intent to find Eliza, it is the only way to save her brother, who is being held by Crimson Road MC. She is so out of her element and catches the attention of Ripper, the club VP. Is she a spy for the Crimson Road MC or is just as she seems, an innocent?
Ripper is a dangerous man but is instantly drawn to Haven, like he has no other woman. He hears her story and decides to help her without going to Judge first. I am really liking this series, looking forward to the next story.

Caution: you really need to read book #1 in this series (Ghost) before this book. There is an arc storyline that started there and continues with Haven's arrival at the clubhouse. I'm addicted to this series and the MC component, personalities, and backstories that Stone has created. It contains brutal violence, trafficing, MC politics, and dramatic personal realizations. I'm on pins and needles waiting for the next book's release!!.
I received a gift copy of this book and voluntarily provided this review. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
-A gritty, emotional MC romance where loyalty, danger, and forbidden desire collide. I received a free copy and am voluntarily sharing my honest thoughts.
Ripper’s rough edges meet Haven’s quiet strength, sparking a connection that feels both reckless and redemptive. Amid betrayal and violence, their trust grows into something neither expected—love born from chaos.
Even monsters can find a reason to change and heal.
This book ended too soon. I want more of Ripper and Haven. That being said, I loved this book and I can not wait to read Hammer’s book next. I have been in pain a lot lately and normally I find it hard to focus on anything else but somehow Julia was able to distract me enough that even just for a little while the pain was a bit more tolerable.

The two mains are total opposites ,but are they really. They both are strong and protective of who they love. The banter in this is good, the action is on point and the spice is spicy for a short read, this is a hold on it is about to get hot in here.

Haven came to the Steelwood MC to try and save her brother. Ripper was intrigued and then he learned her secrets. It’s a wild tale of love and finding your right kind of crazy. It’s a great read and the HEA is perfect as the overall saga continues to unfold.

Haven is in a pickle and Ripper, possibly the wildest of the bunch is the help she gets to save her brother. Haven really does get the cream of the crop for all the trouble.

She’s trying to save her brother but gets caught. Ripper is wondering if can handle her. Fast story, scary events and a rescue turned to war. Vivid, gritty people, men claiming their women and a most satisfying ending!
