I’ve read a few books about Tai Chi for seniors, and this one was an interesting addition. What I liked is that it keeps things simple and realistic. The idea of practicing just 10 minutes a day makes it feel much easier to start compared to longer programs.
The 21-day structure helped me understand how Tai Chi movements can gradually improve balance and coordination. The illustrations and large print also make the instructions easy to follow, which I think many older readers will appreciate.
What stood out to me is that the book focuses not only on movements but also on breathing and moving slowly with awareness. After going through it, I had a better understanding of how gentle daily practice can help with stiffness and overall stability.
Overall, it’s a clear and approachable guide. If someone is new to Tai Chi or looking for a simple routine to try at home, this book is worth checking out.

Finding Confidence and Strength Again
This book allowed me to find beneficial stretches following my hip replacement surgery. I would try to resume my previous workouts but have a lingering ache that grew as my muscles became tighter over time. On my first day of Tai Chi, those aches disappeared. Throughout the program I gained my confidence back and returning to my previous workout did not seem so important. Now I warm up with Tai Chi and complete some of my former workout.

The explanation of what Tai Chi is, the physical and mental health benefits, and the gentle encouragement are well presented in this book. Where the book falls short is in the instructions for performing the movements and exercises. The author uses very elementary figure sketches of a human with arrows meant to indicate how to move through a set of complex movements. They do provide links to outside sources, but you have to scan a link. I decided to go to YouTube instead

A handy book but as an orientatiuon to Tai Chi rather than a how to guide. There is a link to a website where the reader can see the movements done by an expert. If you want to do Tai Chi, and I recommend it, you really need to work with an instructor. It is all about how you do the movements and not the movements, and that includes proper breathing. But if you wnt to know what you will be geting into, this litle bok is not a bad place to start.

As a senior I sometimes stumble and lose my balance easily. I have been practicing some of the exercises in the book for a couple of days now. They are easy to follow and you can do them sitting down or standing up.
I already feel a little better and steadier on my feet. I can't wait to see how I feel after I finish the easy 21 day program.

excited to gift this
I bought this book for my mom for Christmas, and I just know she’s going to love it. I flipped through it, and it’s so easy to follow with clear pictures and gentle exercises. It feels like the perfect gift to help her stay active and confident.

Just what I was looking for …
The author does a nice job of presenting the material in an organized, easy to follow manner, and provides checklists so you can monitor your progress. Well done!

I read this book because I was asked to do a review and not I want t want to actually start Tai Chi. So many benefits and how to keep the motivation seems easy with this guide. It helps with strength, balance, awareness and building strength in the joints.
