"This story is a real gem in a genre plagued with poorly executed attempts." – A Royal Road Reviewer "Fast paced and keeps you hooked!" – A Royal Road Reviewer "The system is also very unique and makes it exciting whenever he gets a new ability." – A Royal Road Reviewer "...interesting with a fun and twisted system." – A Royal Road Reviewer
Half of this book was really pretty good. Four star, easily. But as soon as he goes to the forest it turns into an endless, 'shouting assholes' battle story, "you haven't seen my true power", "now I'm really going to bring out my true power" kind of thing. Funnily enough I'd been thinking they did a great job of balancing that stuff in the first half. It took me far too long to realise I could just skip to the end of the bellowing about power part, but then the book was almost over. Mixed feelings. If you like battle manga/anime this is a definite recommend, though. I'll see what happens in the next one, this series might be for you rather than me.
I am very impressed with the first edition of Titans Descendant. I am an avid reader of the cultivation and litrpg genre and find this story to be captivating, and greatly paced. Triopals, you killed it with keeping things interesting and very creative. Some tropes yet not many. Honestly the sub plots and settings were always vivid and immersive. Keep up the awesome series!
A well written page turner that has great characters, wonderful scenes, expansive combat situations, and is an overall good time! I look forward to the next installment!
good storyline, unusual skills, and progression, so-so character.q
A very unique system. Interesting world building. A likable but flawed character, which I will get into that in a minute. Some humor, whack, skills such as butt hurt and bad mouth. The only thing I did not like, was the characters personality and total disregard for a girl who sacrificed herself due to her affection to save his life. Besides that the book was OK maybe the battles were a little bit too long but that’s what you decide if you decide to read this book. We’ll go to RR Royal Road and read the next book to make a definitive conclusion. So far, four out of five.
A simple approach executed with surprising complexity. This book focuses heavily on a brutal, gritty training arc, and while that means less screen time for side characters, the solo survival elements are top-notch.
The highlight for me was the world-building: the ecosystem and the way different monster species interact is just spectacular. It feels like a breathing world, not just a list of mobs. The epilogue completely hooked me for Book 2, promising even higher stakes. If you love a good training arc and solid survival mechanics, pick this up.
This is a fantastic underdog story filled with hard earned power and intricate system mechanics, it is fantastic because there is just a perfect level of depth to it without too much (I know that cultivation novel sometime overwhelming)
The novel provides a compelling journey where the protagonist fights for his life and future, eventually becoming an inner sect disciple and pursuing some of the hard-to-learn Cultivation Path. Highly recommended
I enjoyed everything from the main and supporting characters to the world building and antagonists. The author did an excellent job in making an introduction to a series.
Enjoyed the sect-based LitRPG approach and general pacing. The whole middle section of the book felt a bit too long/out of place, but managed to stick the landing enough for me to continue the series.
I enjoyed reading this book and I recommend this book to anyone who likes LitRPG and progression types of books with lots of action. I found it hard too many inconsistent points to immerse myself completely into the story. I will read the next story in the series.
Close to 4 stars but a bit clunky in sections. I like the transition and the world view. There is limited statistics and a different system described. I like the random nature of the skills and the purchase situation. It is still a bit might makes right. I’m happy to try the next one.
